Found this little gem by searching Google. Lovely little friendly pub which you might walk straight past if you don't keep your eyes open. Staff very friendly and attentive, food absolutely superb all seem to be freshly cooked and homemade. Large enough portions of whatever you order to fill you up but not over face you. Definitely going again if in the area. Just sorry I didn't take any photos of the food to share.

I’m not one to ever write reviews but I couldn’t not mention the lack of any baby changing facility. Please please please do not go here if you have a baby and intend on changing them whilst you are there. I Initially asked the manger if there was a disabled toilet/changing table somewhere to use for my 3 month old, but she advised there was no facility’s for this. She Advised me that I could use the Office upstairs for privacy, but failed to mention it was up 4 flights of tight and winding stairs, trip hazard central and whilst holding my baby I thought thats a terrible idea, so I said thanks but no. Proceeded to try and use my pram bassinet instead but was very cramped in the room so got flustered and stressed and decided to go upstairs. Nearly in tears trying to not fall down the stairs or trip on something I managed to get to one of the so called ‘office rooms’ upstairs but all were in horrific condition with stuff everywhere, so I just had no choice but to sit on the dirty carpet, and change my crying baby on the floor… to say I was angry and upset about this is an understatement. Trying to then get back down 4 flights of narrow and winding stairs with trip hazard everywhere, whilst carrying a baby, and the changing mat etc was horrific. As I say, I never ever write revs, and I’m not one to even be phased by a lot when it comes to making the best out of bad situation (especially in motherhood) but that was outrageous. On the other side, the food and service was very nice. If you don’t intend on bringing children, then great. If so, I’d avoid it unless you want to change your baby in my condition, or go back to the car, but then again, there’s no carpark so wouldn’t be ideal.

Very busy on arrival. Had booked a table for meal with friends...... its a pity other guests can't respect the 'reserved' sign. Staff tried desperately to ask the customers to move but turned out easier for them to clean a recently vacated table. The staff were very friendly. Food was good, only complaint would be schnitzel was a bit small. Schnitzel should be a butterflied chicken breast, this appeared to have been butterflied THEN cut in half to make two.....a bit of a cheap move (IMO). Nice little find overall.

Although independent and now holding Trip Adviser Authority and Superstar status I would review as follows". We have been to the Shipwreck several times now, there,s good car parking and its not far to walk which for me is good as I,m partially disabled. We have always found the staff very welcoming and friendly. The food is good and there is an excellent selection of beers. The meals are reasonably/averaged priced and the quality of the food is good. Scampi was a little overdone but its probably just my opinion as I like it not overcooked. All in all a great place to visit to have a good meal and drinks and to watch the boats.
