Front of house service good. Prompt delivery of drinks and food. The food was really good, excellent value. Hannah, was very helpful making us feel welcome. Will be returning soon. Thank you.

A midweek early evening meal was great - fast and friendly service from Hannah, who I was pleased to see is still working there.

We went as a family of 5 and one was a baby , more than enough room for the pram and very friendly staff and accommodating. Food was lovely and hot / fresh and good price and Hannah are waitress was excellent, always making sure are food was ok and servied hot . 10/10 and would definitely be going again .

I come here every Monday with my family and occasionally with friends. The staff are always friendly and they remember my sons order of cappuccinos and no cheese in his burger. We were served by Hannah today, she's always lovely, working hard and nothings too much trouble.

Managed to fit us in despite not booking (12 of us) after 8pm for a really lovely meal. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the food was delicious

Worst service i have witnessed. pre ordered food weeks ago as advised by Royal George only to be told on the day that they haven't got 90 percent of the food we preordered left. Management was abrupt , unhelpful and bad mannered. Avoid at all costs

We used to really love the Royal George but it is now under new management and well what a shame! The menu has changed and all the usual staff were no where to be seen which was a clear indicator of new management which was later confirmed by our waitress. Obviously we had reasonably high expectations as only ever had positive experiences at this restaurant but after todays meal we shall not be back in a hurry! I ordered a 8oz Gammon skillet which should have come on a skillet of fried onions. Unfortunately despite this being the description of the meal I received a regular gammon steak which was burnt. Burgers looked nothing like the picture on the menu. Presentation and portion sizes were disappointing. All in all a real shame as there isn’t many good places to eat in Ipswich anymore.

I've been to the George several times and it's been good. Went this Sunday for a roast. Really disappointed. The roast spuds were burnt. The mash was powder and hadnt been mixed properly. Three of us didn't eat even half of it. It was a shame

Once again absolutely first class for the fabulous team, we took 22 people for a lunchtime meal and all could not fault anything thank you

Found my food very unappetising,I asked for a salad ..to be told they don’t do it ..but pretty standard stuff guys a salad …my chicken wings were over cooked &dry ..so I’ll not be eating there again in a hurry ..

Shocking service, dreadful food, portion sizes small and dry. Rude staff with no people skills, seriously under staffed on a Friday night, school holidays and 30c surely a little thought would have been put in to the staffing! Seriously hot pub with no air conditioning or windows that open. When I complained no apology or offer to resolve the issue. No clearing of tables or checking how our food was and the pub clearly cannot cater for large parties.

Went for a drink a couple Saturdays ago around 2pm. Tables were dirty and sticky and had food all over them, decor was tired, bathroom was grubby. General feeling of neglect and it's sad to see as this used to be a family favourite of ours, going back as far as 25 years ago.

Lovely time, great food and amazing waitresses

Ordered my steak rare with no tomato. It arrived a charitable medium well with tomato. Simple tasks done badly result in the score provided. To add insult to injury the signs proudly displaying their commitment to the forces, veterans and blue light workers by providing 20% off wasn't quite so proud to mention "oh today is a bank holiday, pay full price". Very poor all round except for the service. Edit:Repeat visit yielded a correctly cooked steak but no cheese on a cheeseburger. Service again lovely, but lack of attention by the kitchen seems inescapable.

The XL mixed grill was great (the chicken was cooked much better than last time) and the biscoff cheese cake is good as well. They also offer 15% bluelight discount so that's an extra bonus

Went for some lunch today, Asked for table service and our server was unbelievably rude! No manners, acted like he didnt want to be there! Our food was burnt and tacky. My partner ordered a steak and it was inedible, tasted like charcoal and the texture was like a leather boot. Mac and cheese was runny and wet, tasted like it was made from packets. Wont be eating here again. However the lady at the bar was super sweet and polite! :)

Mick behind the bar was super friendly, great fun for pool, darts and watching the footy.

Had a great Sunday dinner here. Lots of choice on the menu. Staff were very accommodating as I was being awkward and wanted a better table than the one initially offered to us. I also didn't want my cake warmed and they were happy to oblige. Will definitely come again.

Amazing customer service from Elsie she is a young woman with a warm smile that immediately puts guests at ease. She has neatly styled hair, usually tied back in a bun, and wears a crisp, clean uniform that highlights her professionalism. She made sure that everything on our table was correct and always made sure that me and my team were having an amazing time and experience.

Excellent quality and value and service

Great atmosphere, always feel welcomed by staff and comfortable. So much so our cricket now come and have a beer there after training sessions and games, they are very accommodating. Good facilities like a pool table and a good darts board. A very friendly atmosphere with some games to play.

Nice spot just outside Ipswich. It’s a classic green king so expect classic pub grub at reasonable prices. We sat as a table of 4 and the app worked pretty well. Personally I prefer Table service but the App worked fine as stated. Food came out very quickly but not too quickly. We enjoyed our meal and would go back.

Came for a meal for my aunties birthday staff staff seemed like they hated working there, miserable environment. They brought the wrong food out and we let a staff member know with black hair gold earrings and lip balm on her lanyard and she didn’t apologise for the food being wrong she maybe needs some customer service training. we ordered drinks on arrival but had 3 more people come over asking if we wanted drinks so there clearly isn’t any communication and we also had 4 people come and do check backs so again no communication. food was average to be generous - wouldn’t return personally

Just been to the royal george lovely food. But the lady behind the bar was rude when asked about the price of our meal. We made the mistake which we put our hands up, but her attitude was rubbish. But the man was lovely and he understood accidents happen.Also how does it cost £3.80 for a dash of lemonade. Not sure if we will be back

Really good food and drinks for really good prices. Lovely atmosphere for every demographic and friendly waiters (especially Liam!) I recommend the Royal George to all my friends and family.

Came for my birthday meal and the staff went above and beyond!! Constantly making sure our food was okay and that we were topped up on drinks. Cannot be more thankful they really made our meal! Genuinely such a warm, friendly pub! Will definitely be back!

Quite noisy on quiz nights but very friendly

Just ok. Well, it should be BOGOF but somehow the server was charging me twice saying that I ordered a more expensive burger than my friends, eventhough I ordered a cheaper one. I don't think he knows that I know how to read 😆 😆 🤣 and I eat out nearly every other day 😅 😋 then when my friends were working out how much each paid (dividing the price of burger between them 2 and adding their individual drinks, the server worked it out wrong) both ky friends has different drinks. One drank wine the other lager! He just said you each pay X amount. To stop embarrassing him, my friends said ok and we all gave him X each for his tip.

We came a bit late (with reservation) and one waitress said kitchen is closed just to find out another waitress said kitchen is open, probably because she saw us leaving. Unfortunately we should expect not fresh food, felt like eating leftovers warmed in microwave. But worst thing was they give table next to us to drunk group of 6 elderly screaming, arguing and shouting like they own the place. I would say alright, not staffs fault, but when these people arrived like 30 minutes after us pub was almost empty.. Yeah, thank you for “great” evening, good luck and never again.

Brilliant atmosphere and service from Annie and amazing food brilliant pub

We booked a table, made the journey, and arrived hungry and hopeful - only to find there was no food - problem with the gas, apparently. Things happen, I get that, but an apology wouldn't have gone amiss. When I asked whether bookings could be blocked, to save more disappointed people arriving, it was met with a firm "No". Shame. The menu offers lots of choice - 2* for that. Not sure we'll rush back.

Reasonable food only had scampi and chips but the menu was vast , and very well priced , food was served quickly and staff are friendly 👌 all in all definitely worth a visit and will definitely be back

Easter Sunday, with a few friends. The folk at the George happily made us welcome. Annie served us, great pub food served promptly by friendly welcoming staff. Already planning our return visit.

Very disappointing, ordered 3 gammon & got 3 chicken ! Sent mine back & asked for gammon which was under cooked ! Won't being going back any time soon.

Need to stock soya milk, as I'm allergic to lactose and had to have an orange juice instead. (full of sugar and acid)

Came here with a couple of friends on a Thursday evening. Food was good quality pub fare, with some interesting items on the menu. Service was quick and friendly. Very enjoyable evening.

we ordered the £15 feed the family, one of the kids ordered a double kids burger, only a single came out, they took it back to make it a double. When the burger arrived he started to eat it then left half which i then discovered the second burger was completely raw!!! our waitress was so apologetic but it wasn’t her fault its the so called chef who cooked (or not) the burger, disgusting!

I ate chickmix last night. Was very good. The chicken fillet so nice and tender. But, I'm freezing. They don't put the heating on or the radiator broken. I'm sorry, coz I'm not from England. I'm Indonesian. Maybe next time you can make a lil bit warm inside the restaurant. And I will come back.

Great local pub with friendly staff, lots of space and tasty - great value - food. The facilities are clean and relatively modern. The Roast Dinner is excellent. Good range of beers & ales, both local and international. Several vending machines (grabber claw type, for the kids) and a pool table and dart board (with arrows available behind the bar). Lots of outdoor seating and parking on site.

Definitely recommend here! The deals are fantastic value. My mum had the gammon and said she couldn’t fault it. Beautifully cooked and very tender. I had the lasagna and thought it was absolutely delicious! Everything served quickly. Deals on drinks are good value too! Staff were friendly and polite. Micheal was a star! Highly recommend this place!

Huge Improvement! We have just got back from a Sunday Afternoon here and the food, service was fantastic. We last visited in the summer and the food was poor but they have turned it around and was very impressed. Thanks to the chefs and the hard working staff. 10 out of 10!

I eat regularly at the Royal George with friends from our Golf Club - usually on a Friday lunchtime. We book in advance and are given the same table each week. The food is tasty and hot and there is an excellent choice to be had.Lisa is very friendly - knows all our drinks off by heart and can’t do enough for us. All the team are friendly and provide a very pleasant experience. I also eat at the Royal George with my family as we think it is excellent value for money and the food is lovely.
