Lovely place for a drink , well placed by the river at Shotley, looking over to Harwich and Felixstowe. You can spend ages just looking at the view. We went on the Harwich to Shotley foot ferry and had a nice walk and then a drink in the Shipwreck. Lots of space for outdoor dining and loads of room inside. We didn't eat, but there is lots of choice.Great car parking .

Great service, price point to be expected for location, just a pity that the thin brown bread served with the meal was likely Asda own brand brown bread instead of something from a local bakery or a nice thicker cut. Hot chocolate was watery to the taste and not pleasant. Pleasant place to eat with interesting views of the shipping and local marina.

This is a lovely spot with amazing views of Felixstowe and Harwich. The food is slightly overpriced, for example it was the same price for a portion of chessy chips and a small tub of ice cream, both being £4.75, which I would pay for chips, but I felt ripped off by the ice cream. The also do a range of snack and other food. The staff is not very welcoming or friendly, often almost ignoring you when you want to order something. Overall, it's an alright restaurant, but there could be some small improvements.

£12 for a sub roll with supposedly filled with brie and cranberry !! The thin cheese was there but the cranberries must of done a runner!! Relish was included a few large pieces of ice berg 2 small pieces of tomatoes and the same cucumber covered in brown sauce. To their credit the chips were good.. How do they warrant this amount of money for a very plain basic snack :(..

Always a good spot for a tea/coffee or something from the bar. Food is consistent with a fairly decent range. It’s not restaurant quality but it’s always hot and well cooked without breaking the bank. Free parking with views of Harwich and Felixstowe as well as Shotley Marina make it a good destination pretty much all year round. Good walks in pretty much every direction with a small museum. You can even sit in your car and have something to look at,

The Shipwreck is located beside Shotley Marina and overlooks the confluence of two large rivers, The Stour and The Orwell. Easily visible across the wide estuary are two ports, Felixstowe and Harwich so there's always something happening. The pub sells good honest pub grub and has rooms. Highly recommended.

I must say while the main course was excellent, we were disappointed that they don't do a sweet menu anymore. We were offered some cake or biscuits, but not the same as a good pud to finish off with. We have been familiar with the Shipwreck for many years as we had our boat in the Marina, so spent many a penny in the pub with other boat owners. It's changed hands a few times over the years, but I'm glad to say the food is still very tasty.

Not sure if this has changed hands or what but last year we came quite a few times and the fish and chips was good. Popped in for a light lunch with the motorbike group but the most underwhelming sandwich ever. Dry cheap bread and the thinnest slice of cheese imaginable. For £7 for a bit of bread and a tiny bit of cheese. A Tesco meal deal would have been far far better. You really need to try harder. We won't be back sadly as the food is very sub par. Staff were good and bubbly as ever but that sandwich was embarrassing two vending machine drinks and two woeful sandwichs for £23 is not on. We regularly go to the blue egg in GT bardfield and for very little cost more it's a world away and que out the door. Seeing as the place denies my review is from them and can't even be honest I will upload a copy of the debit taken from my bank. Why it's called shotley marina I don't know? Maybe something else afoot. I can assure you can see the tables under the plates are the same tables in other photos of the same place these are the tables right outside the door. You don't sell sliced cheese? What is those two thin bits of white substance on the bread attempt then? It was purchased as brie so if it is not then that's another lie too.

Having abandoned our planned stop at the Shotley Rose, due to an unhelpful landlady, we rode on and found this place at the end of the marina. Looks inviting from the outside and inside it is a weirdly layout property - I suspect it is used as a washroom and stopover for yachtsmen. Firstly the staff were very friendly and helpful. Toilets a bit of a mess - I blamed the yachtsmen!!! Great view of felixstowe container dock and the river. A selection of 4 real ales. Lunch menu okay - no deserts only cake but we didn’t want desert. Chicken skewers tasty and a decent portion. Hunters chicken looked a bit messy, a rasher of bacon laid not wrapped around the chicken breast. Cheese was a bit fatty and didn’t look great in the bbq sauce - spotted the sauce. But it tasted nice if a touch fatty - the cheeses fault. Reasonably priced at £35 inc drinks.

Went on the recommendation of a client, and ordered the fish & chips, no problem. Two cups of tea, no problem. What spoiled the experience was a sniffy young table-wiper with a bald head and a lightning strike tattoo. The tea is served in a large cup black, and is accompanied by what I can only describe as a thimble-sized pot thing half-filled with milk. I requested quite politely for more milk, because there wasn't enough in the thimbles for myself and my client. The response from the whining baldy was something along the lines of, "It's a waste of milk, you'll only waste the milk." What kind of table-server answers back in this obnoxious way? Who was he to tell me how much milk I'm allowed? Especially after forking out £35 for the fish & chips. I pointed out that a pint of milk was very cheap and reiterated my desire for more milk, at which point the table-wiper with attitude (assumedly pre-menstrual) flounced off an brought another thimble over. Incredibly embarrassing for myself and my client, and a despicable attitude from server who should be much more considerate and polite. Being an Irish farmer, next time I will load up one of my cows and graze her on the bit of grass outside the establishment. Then I won't have to be party to this disgraceful milk-rationing that this little Napoleon attempted to implement. Otherwise, a nice meal (chips a bit overdone, but fish very nice). I doubt I'll be going back.

We would suggest in future if most menu items are not available due to supply issues or whatever, then don't bother opening for people to eat in the first place!! This then would save me having to give this poor review.

We arrived early and it was sooo busy we decided to order straight away whilst ordering drinks from the bar. A few items were unavailable but that was understandable with the amount of people there. We all ordered different items and they were brought to our table after a longer than usual wait. Saying that all meals were delicious although portions were a little on the large size. The owner came over to us and told us my son could not drink his coke as it was not purchased here even though we had just purchased coffees. I’m extremely disappointed as we have spent so much money here over the years and was planning on coming back later on for some lunch but will definitely not now. I found him coming over very petty all to just get us to put a couple of pounds in his pocket. My child was only drinking what he already had but was told to go and sit on the wall by the water if he wanted to continue drinking it. This pub is on a walkers route, yet they have a strict no dogs policy, which is clearly out of touch with modern trends. This place is a shadow of its former self and there is no real evidence of imminent improvement. If you have the choice and you are there on the right day, the Bristol Arms close by or pubs in Harwich a short boat ride away are much better options..
