First time visiting here and the food was absolutely delicious, could not fault it. Enjoyed a 3 course dinner. The service was second to none, very friendly and attentive. Will most certainly be returning again. Highly recommend a visit.

Been to 16 steakhouse at Greshams for second time in a month. Food was fantastic, service excellent, and ambiance was superb made even better by a saxophone player and singer. Well worth a visit, and good value also.

Me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed our visit, the team provided an excellent and friendly service. We ordered from the pizza menu which has a great variety and was very good value for money.

Having never visited before, me and some friends decided to try out the new "Alfresco Friday". Our waiter Dan was an absolute delight and made us all feel extremely well looked after throughout the evening. We sat outdoors with the accompaniment of a live singer which just topped off the whole experience! The food was well presented, exceptionally seasoned and surprisingly well priced in comparison to other steakhouses in the area. Will definitely be visiting again and we are exited to try their pizza nights/Sunday roasts!Thank you for having us

First venture out since restaurants allowed to open againEverything from start to finish was superb especially my Fillet Steak spot on rare.Made to feel very welcome and our waitress kept us entertained all night.Very relaxed in evening in very chilled settings listening to a young man playing the SaxaphoneWell done guys for getting back up and running.Also a big thankyou for all the takeouts during lockdown never disappointed.

Myself and husband went to 16 Steak House at Greshams for his birthday. Sadly we couldn’t go before due to lockdown. The service and outdoor setting were lovely and the starters really tasty, we were both really looking forward to our steaks which we ordered rare. Unfortunately when they arrived they were medium/well. They replaced both but mine came back the same and my husband’s medium. Mine I didn’t eat and they took off the bill and Neil ate his due to being hungry. Sadly for a steak restaurant the mains were disappointing so I doubt we will be going back.

Wow what a burger. Thought we would give 16 a try and definitely will come back. Great chilled evening with great food

We’ve just enjoyed the most amazing pizza. Such good value and freshly made, will be dreaming about the sirloin and Stilton flavour wood fired pizza for days to come. Really great value and a very safe set up to collect with plenty of room to park etc. Absolutely delicious and would recommend to anyone

A family and friends gathering to celebrate the life of a loved one. Our experience was a job well done. They took great care of us all and the food provided was first class and enjoyed by all. I thank them for looking after us all.

Food was beautifully presented and cooked exactly as requested. Service was brilliant. Background music at just the right level, can hear it while eating but don't have to shout when talking.

Took my wife for a meal to this restaurant last night, what a fantastic experience, staff really friendly, food excellent and the setting really lovely, we both enjoyed the evening so much, well done to the new Restaurant team for creating such a good experience for their Customers.

My friend chose this restaurant for her birthday, I wasn’t even aware there was a restaurant but was very pleasantly surprised. There was six of us and we had a round table which meant everyone could interact without talking over each other. Our waiter was very good, he was very tentative and happy to help with all our different demands (vegan, gluten and dairy free) we don’t do it often but we were impressed by his demure that we left a tip. The food was delicious and well presented and the options were enough for everyone to enjoy. It was all in all a good dining experience. I didn’t give it five stars as found the outside wasn’t as welcoming as I expected and we weren’t sure if we were at the right restaurant.

Just back from a beautiful Sunday Lunch in the Greshams Restaurant. A great choice on the menu, but we all fancied a Sunday Roast. At £13.95 I thought it might prove to be a bit on the small side so also had a starter, bit of a schoolboy error. The plate was full with excellent quality meat and vegetables.Lovely gravy, well cooked meat and crispy veg. Incredible value.Cant wait to go back to try the steak selection.Great service too.. Highly recommend.

Birthday Steaks all round! Treat for Dad’s birthday - 2x rib eyes, 1x sirloin, 1x minute steak, 1x pork loin all got the big thumbs up. Really like being able to make own salad and cheese board selection. Perhaps the kids pasta sauce is bit too intensely tomatoey - but that’s down to personal taste. A warm welcome, great service and loved the birthday candle in the cheese! We shall be back.

The management team at Greshams were most helpful when we were looking for a venue to hold a wake. They supplied endless cups of tea and coffee and a buffet which was excellent. The sausage rolls and warm vegetable tarts were everyones favourites!

Went to the Greshams Christmas Party night. Overall it was very good and entertaining, the only slight grumble was the meal. The soup was so sparse I had to eat it quickly before what there was of it evaporated! The main course was okay with plenty of meat, but that was offet by the almost total lack of vegtables, The dessert was okay. Overall the night was very good, but the food, the meat and dessert aside could have been better. Think the Christmas party nights, although good overall, need the food to slightly improve to rival All Manor of Events or Trinity Park.

Have just had a brilliant meal with friends, I had pate which was beautiful, my husband had prawn cocktail which he enjoyed, we all had the steak and salad which was beautifully cooked the flavour was excellent and very tender. Service was great all round a lovely meal thank you.

We've eaten here twice since the new 16 Steakhouse Restaurant opened and both times the steak we've had has been well cooked, tender, presented beautifully and the sauces and rubs to go with it are perfect accompaniments. Would definitely visit again and recommend.

Wonderful service and great steaks at 16 restaurant. Bespoke salad a fantastic idea. Better than Carter and Miller.Could do with more heating as the room was cold.

Excellent service,very nice Surroundings very professional staff. Not a cheap night,but very professional, the Tableware superb,I thought. A nice Roast dinner,all good,apart from the vegetables,a little raw for me,but I believe Chefs,are supposed to cook them that way,the sweet very good.

We had a mid-week meal at the newly opened 16 restaurant at Gresham's. We were looked after by Kevin who was superb at answering our questions and explaining the menu. We ended up going with t-bone and fillet steak both of which came out cooked to perfection with a side of sweet potato fries and some amazing dauphinois potatoes. If there was a niggle to be had it would be that the food of the al la carte menu is on the pricey side. All round I would certainly recommend the new restaurant and will be back to sample the carvery!

I visited the restaurant with my dad and sisters on the opening night and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything about our visit. I had the lamb and mint burger with dauphinois potatoes which was great, everyone else has steak which they all really enjoyed. The service from Kevin and Abbie was brilliant. I would definitely recommend taking a visit to anyone!!

Day two of new restaurant 16. We went at 5pm - there were 5 of us. 3 x roasts and 2x steaks and 4 puds. All absolutely delicious. Love being able to pick bespoke your own salad. Looking forward to trying a cheese board next time. Highly recommended

Wow, words can't do the afternoon justice. We were 20 ladies, enjoying the wonderful food, atmosphere, staff who were excellent and so attentive.it was a beautiful afternoon. All the lovely little touches. Thanks to all the staff, who made the afternoon so special.

Visited for afternoon tea - good selections of sandwiches and great hot sausage rolls. Unlimited tea/coffee and lovely sweets selection. Staff were friendly and attentive - would definitely recommend.

We were given a Groupon voucher for afternoon tea by our daughter, we booked and attended, finger sandwiches and sausage rolls were good, scones with cream were good, tray of cakes were out of Aldi and very disappointing, Staff were fine and the tea was freshly made.

Went for afternoon tea this afternoon it was lovely. Staff very nice and helpful. Sausage rolls were gorgeous. The barman walked us to my car with an umbrella as it was raining so hard. Would go back again.

I purchased a Groupon for afternoon tea for my parents as an Easter gift. I was told that it was fully booked on my requested date, then received a call to say that they’d had a last minute cancellation. If they were fully booked I would be concerned as there were 3 other tables plus ourselves?!?! Hardly busy. Lovely venue. Lovely chap who served us. Deliciously fresh finger sandwiches, it’s unfortunate that you cannot choose between white and/or brown bread as my parents don’t eat brown. Nice warm sausage rolls. Crumbly scones. Disappointed with what appeared to be shop brought cakes and not home made.... all in all ok value for money using a Groupon but when all is said and done it’s sandwiches, scones, tea and cake! I much prefer Glasswells, all home made with a choice rather than a standard get what you are given. Unlimited tea/coffee was a nice touch.

as a party of 10 for a special birthday lunch where we had pre booked you would of liked to have thought the Management and team would of wanted our service, unfortunately not.

Just returned home after a lovely tea. Very modern and comfortable restaurant and greeted by friendly attentive staff. The table was laid with lovely china crockery and teapots. Sandwiches cakes and sausage rolls were plentiful and boxes given for any cakes we could not manage to eat!

very nice plenty of food and teapot refills but sadly the bread was dry.This was bought on groupon not sure I would have paid full price we went to keep friends company who were using a Christmas gift.

Popped in for lunch, received a very warm welcome from staff. Very attentive, polite and accommodating.

On Friday 16th I attended my cousins wake at this venue. Only one member of staff was helping us and asking if we were OK. As we were setting up the others didn't like that sprinkles had been put on the tables. Instead of speaking to Us nicely about it, they just came off rude. Having little digs regarding cleaning them up. And the blonde girls just made us all uncomfortable with the way she spoke to older members regarding cups, again, rudely. Also she was seen to be taking pictures of a bit of mess on the side.

The website for Greshams is very professional and slick, but you won't find a picture of the outside. That's because it isn't the best looking building - you might mistake it for a social club. Now don't misunderstand me - I'm not saying this is a bad thing; just not what you might expect. Inside it does resemble a very nice village hall; clean neat surroundings with really comfy seats. The menu is not extensive; yet again not a bad thing. We decided on the carvery with a choice of gammon, turkey, or meat pie (or a bit of each if you like!) The choice of veg and potatoes is excellent. The Yorkshire pudding was a little chewy and the gravy a little runny but I want to stress I liked this place loads despite my minor quibbles. Everyone in our little party enjoyed their meals - portions are just right. Service was excellent - especially the tip off that we needed to "go to the carvery right now" before a party of 24 were about to (a great bit of advice!). It can be a little noisy in this big space as there are no partitions that you might find in a pub. The value is excellent for the main course - £10.95 for a 'regular' carvery. As in most places the desserts are not good value, but you'll probably be full anyway. We were told that in the next few weeks it was going to get 'posh' with new menus; I suspect that this will be a success.

Booked this with a Groupon voucher so really very reasonable price. Staff were very nice and friendly. All arrived very quickly and looked fab. Think we were supposed to have a sandwich with smoked salmon but definitely no smoked salmon on the stand. Tinned salmon maybe and the ham sandwich was not great. Sandwiches had been made a while ago as bread was drying. Cakes and scones were nice, sausage roll was fab. I was quite happy having got it at the price I did but wouldn't have been quite so happy if I had to pay full price. Very nice restaurant, views OK but of football pitches. Staff were great though.

Unfortunately I had attended two funerals within a short period of each other, the wakes of which were both held at Gresham’s.

Booked afternoon tea to rest after shopping in Ipswich. Busy car park various sports going on but parked ok venue itself was quiet seated and served promptly enough to eat to fill us up Attentetive staff polite and smart enjoyed our visit

We turned up on the off chance on a Friday lunchtime for Afternoon Tea.

I attended a private function in the Willow Suite and was very impressed with the whole evening. Ample car parking, the function room was a good size, clean and well presented. It included a stage for a live band a dance floor, plenty of tables and chairs and a good bar area. Toilets were clean and modern.

A group of us had a nice meal, Scott is excellent, but so cold in the restaurant, we were all cold, and I ate my meal with my coat on , such a shame.

Sunday carvery the best in the area, cannot fault it..5star.....midweek totally different poor food, not enough staff. Slow service,Restaurant was not even half full. And the staff were struggling to cope.we will be back on a Sunday, but not midweek..

Attended here on Saturday evening and the food and service was second to none. The staff were very professional and the choice of menu was very good. The food came out hot and cooked to perfection.. We will return for sure

My family and I went to Greshams for Christmas day lunch this year.. Wow is all I can say the food was fantastic and a really lovely atmosphere. I Have also been to the Quiz on a Sunday evening end of each month and recently went to a wake there to. Nothing is to much trouble staff are extremely friendly and ready to help if needed. We have already booked for Christmas Dinner 2019. The carvery is really lovely one of the best I've been too. After Christmas day we will certainly be going for Sunday lunch on a regular basis. Get yourself there you won't be disappointed. Happy New year to you all.

Having attending a private Christmas function I can highly recommend Greshams. The whole venue feels lovely and welcoming. The bar prices are good and the food along with the service excellent. I will happily return to this venue again and again.

Well after a fanstasic afternoon at Greshams for the meet the Santa experience . Well what can I say this desvers 10 stars not just 5 . My daughter (6) had magical afternoon , starting from they was running 2 mins late a elf run outside said they was very sorry but Santa ate to many mince pies and was running late ! 2 mins late is nothing t, but they made sure it was fun for the kids so the children didn’t mind waiting . So we went in and got handed and lunch box and a list to fill in for Santa , but as we walked in my daughter was saying wow wow the room looked beautiful magical , then we Took a seat will the children was doing this list something for kids to do and there was beautiful ballerina dancing around ( you wouldn’t get that anywhere eles ) and naughty elf’s coming round to have laughs and jokes with the kids . Then we went and meet Santa and there elf outside talking to parents about all stuff do ready for Xmas eve to help them out . So they children was so exited looking around . Making sure they know what they had to do . Then we saw Santa well he was so lovely knew my daughters name before I got into room . We walked in and it was slightly colder so my daughter thought we was in North Pole bless her .And he also knew a few little facts about Lillie which made magical for her . (These was sorted out with parents before hand ) . Also got such a lovely little gift a lovely reading book and teddy that was lovely to see . Santa gave us the choice to take loads of pictures didn’t rush us or anything . Then we went outside back into the main hall the elf’s and Mrs Claus danced with kids took photos played game ! Just had fun with the children . This was amazing beautiful magical afternoon out . Considing I went there not in the mood Xmas and come out ready singing Xmas songs was great fun . I really hope this comes back next year !!! 100 percent worth every penny !!

Myself and two friends had afternoon tea today Friday 7th Dec. Very disappointed with the sandwiches which were very bland. One of my friends doesn't eat meat and what they did for her was very poor. They could have given her a cheese and onion roll or a cheese scone in place of the sausage roll we were given. The sandwiches in general were very poor. Plain ham, no pickle or mustard and just cucumber!! Nothing with the tuna, cucumber or tomato would have been better or some tinned salmon and just egg sandwiches, no mayo or tomato. The cakes were nice but really you need to do better with the sandwiches for the price you charge. Jean

Friendly meal for us and friends, good welcome, nicely placed table (we had asked for one slightly secluded) quick drinks service, but allowed time for our choice(we are always slow) starters came quickly and were really nice. Mains also, all the food was hot, well presented and tasty. Two of us had the pie, which was brilliant, home made, full of meat and tasty to boot. One person had the Lasagna, which they found very nice, (albeit too much for then to finish). One of our number a vegetarian, found her choice of meal unavailable, and asked if they would prepare a dish for her 'off menu', which they did without hesitation. Service was excellent, fun, friendly, at just the right level for us. Sweets were delicious. The restaurant was not crowded, midweek, and the weather was atrocious. We all really enjoyed the meal, and will undoubtedly return. Special mention for Scotty, one of our waiters.Great night.

Met friends today, due to wheelchair access they chose Gresham's. We waited nearly an hour for our food, it arrived via a waitress who pretty much tipped the plates on to the table. Fish and chips shockingly over-cooked, lasagne lumps of meat and pie pastry obviously microwaved. I suspect the large party in the Ven-Yew took priority and our meals had been put on hold. The catering manager Chris was rude and as good as said because the food had been partially eaten we were lying. Really shocked - won't be returning.

Our Retired staff association had our Christmas dinner today, 53 members,everyone complimented the service, the food and the room decorated superbly. We were greeted by Management,and staff and we were treated like royalty. All waiting staff were fantastic the day was brilliant. Thank you Greshams,

Lovely place , lovely Sunday roast, very accomodating and lovely staff especially Scott! Very helpful and cheery!

We visited the restaurant for the Sunday carvery.the meat was tender, juicy and delicious and so was the lovely roasted potatoes and fresh vegetables everything cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were efficient, courteous and friendly, we will definitely return. May I suggest that the stuffing and sausages are included in the “help yourself” I was disciplined for helping myself to a sausage which I found very embarrassing.

My family and friends went to Greshams to their firework display we pre-order the tickets on line at £7 for adults £5 for children and under 3 go for free, there were fun-fair rides,bouncy castles and side stalls for the kids, we were allowed to use the bar in the willow hall, also in there food was being served, at a very reasonable price, outside the bar was the beef-burger/hot-dog stand get either for £3. The firework display started at 7.45 pm and lasted for 45 minutes with a constant display of fireworks going off one after another best firework display, with the hard work done by the organisers who were letting them off with a programme in mind, very well done, when the display was finished we then went inside to warm up, will go again next year

What a pleasant meal we had.. traditional Sunday Roast with a choice of 3 meats.. huge selection or vegetables and a option on potatoes. Great value and good service.

Ordered jerk chicken with rice and peas. Oh dear! Chef dear chef. . . Jerk recipe is plenty over internet why didn't you bother simply buying jerk marinade in a jar from local international food store and you couldn't have gone wrong.Instead you served us completely tasteless well browned chicken with no trace of jerk on it, rice and peas without coconut taste and also no trace of fresh thyme which is proper way if cooking it.

Sunday Carvery was brilliant. Lots of choice and the medium plate was ample. Price was reasonable and a full menu was also available.

Visited this wonderful venue on Saturday night for a good friends 60th Birthday party. What a truly fantastic place and the bar staff were first class being very friendly and prompt with the service when requiring drinks. A wonderful evening in a first class gem of a place. Thank you to all the team for making it a truly memorable evening. Alun & John xx

If the tea stand on a Sunday morning is anything to go by I would not recommend this place. Greshams is heaving on a Sunday morning for football so any potential parents reading this prior to coming to watch football bring your own food and drink !! The actual van is filthy with cobwebs and looks in general grubby the “hotdog” the worst I’ve had like rubber in a burger roll which was grilled without being asked no onions and the girl serving well raving to loud music whilst serving would not use this again I hope the stabdards in the actual establishment are somewhat better

Not as glamorous or as expensive as many venues but as a guest on Saturday I was very impressed by the food the service the facilities and the atmosphere. We had a scone cake and sandwich tea at lunchtime which was a brilliant idea then a buffet supper at 8 pm which was impressive. I doubt by spending more you could have a better time! Great location just outside Ipswich so not an expensive taxi ride home!!

What a wonderful day we spent at Greshams for my sister’s wedding. The day was very well organised and the venue looked stunning. The staff were extremely efficient, friendly and helpful; especially the events organiser, who was amazing. I would highly recommend this venue.

nicely set up .greta dance floor . staff excellent and friendly .we had a brilliant buffet .slight down side is drinks are as expected ted not cheap lol. however worth visiting and. decent car park too.

I arranged an afternoon tea at Greshams restaurant for the first phase of my sister's hen party and was very pleasantly surprised by the good value and very good service.

Our previous visit for a Sunday carvery was very good, an excellent meal. Which is why we returned. I don’t know what has happened since ! To start with my partners beer was ‘off’ and he had to ask for a replacement. I had the beef, which was over cooked and tasteless. I had the small plate but couldn’t eat the meat. The Yorkshire was like leather, the roast potatoes not at all crispy and were so hard I couldn’t cut mine. The sausage was undercooked, the stuffing tasteless, the veg undercooked! The new potatoes had so many herbs on I couldn’t eat them, and they are so inappropriate with the traditional roast. In fact the rest of the meal had no flavour, cardboard meat and no taste gravy. All for £10.95 ! The venue is lovely, but the food so very disappointing. All served in a rather surly manner by the carvery chef.

Been twice now to the sunday carvery; the choice of meats is great and there is just a good amount of choice for the rest of it. Great for large groups as there are huge tables too. Only downside is no air con so it was super warm inside while outside was nearing 30°!

Came here for fathers day lunch amd as usual it was lovely. Have been many times before and never had a bad meal. The lemon tart is to die for!

Hired this room for a Wedding Anniversary Party for approx. 100 people. Room was the perfect size, and could of held up to 120 people with the added Marquee at the back. The communications with the venue was excellent, and the on the day experience with the functions team was just as good. A lot of our guests commented on what a great venue it was. Thanks

Food is excellent portions are huge but they do offer smaller portions of you ask. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We will be going again as the Sunday roast sounds awesome. We are booking for a lunch party of approx 25 people at the end of the month, we are really looking forward to going again. Thanks to all the staff.

Greshams has a good setting, but didn’t provide a ‘dainty’ afternoon tea, for my granddaughters hen party. Two of our party of twelve were gluten free, but despite this being made clear at the time of booking.. ,Five gluten free teas were brought out.

We took our friends to lunch for the first time at Greshams and were thoroughly delighted with the experience. The food was superb and plentiful; the staff so friendly and attentive without being intrusive; the atmosphere was refined yet comfortable and the surroundings were delightful. The final plus point was ample car parking on-site. A lovely experience

I booked Greshams late 2017 for my 40th Birthday celebrations in February. I was informed of the refurbishment that was happening and that it would be finished the day before my party which didn’t worry me.

Lovely seating area, friendly staff, good service and a excellent Sunday Carvey Would call back again. Really good its open to the public and not just club members.

Attendeed a function in their newly refurbished room on Saturday evening. The food was good but they need to have more than 5 waiters/waitresses serving 20 tables of 10. Service is slow.

We had dinner here last Thursday and the food was fantastic and great value, I had the ribeye steak which was perfect cooked medium, my wife had the sea bass which was equally as good.

Lunch with friends yesterday. Service bad waited over 50 mins for food when it came 😩 chicken was so dry and tough we struggled to cut it. No place mats so plates kept sliding on table as we tried to cut. Small portion of vegetables...

Went today, husband had very bland chicken, I had beef pie, pastry was soggy, will not be back in a hurry, think everything is frozen, lovely place, such a shame

We were a 30th birthday party meal who dined here, our party ranged from 1 year to 70. We found the service was very good, Chris and his team handled our booking well. the food was good, steaks all went down very well. They had organised a 3 course set menu for us which we ordered beforehand and we had no issues with the orders. Restaurant was clean and modern, atmosphere was good. We will definitely now try their sunday roast.Thanks to everyone involved.

Not quite what we expected when we turned up but still the afternoon tea was lovely only down side was no jam or cream for our scones !

I'm not sure what I was expecting but it wasn't it! I visited with my fiancé and son, for afternoon tea via a Groupon deal, the front of the building looked like a shed but we were pleasantly surprised by the inside.The afternoon tea was disappointing, as a chef of 10 years I know brought in when I see it and the cakes where cut straight out of a pilgrims food service catalog, the scones I think where made in house but had been frozen and defrosted as they were hard. Ya can't mess up a sandwich but there were basic to say the least. It would have been a much lower rating if it wasn't for the lovely staff and pleasant surroundings. Enquired about hiring a marquee as we are planning a wedding but aren't interested in using there caterers and they don't allow outside catering so that's out.

Small private party. Very well catered for. Everyone was very satisfied. What more could you ask? Would certainly go again.

I was so impressed with the buffet selection provided for my relatives funeral buffet. Everyone commented on the choice, quality, flavours and the general atmosphere of the venue. Highly recommended.

A very good selection of food from their menu and a Sunday carvery as well makes this a good place to visit for any occasion. Polite and very efficient staff. Good selection of beers and wines. I would certainly recommend a visit, particularly if there is an entertainment function on at the same time which makes it all the more enjoyable.

Attended the #pigsgonewild #pigsgonepink charity fundraising dinner evening in aid of the St Elizabeth Hospice. So much fun was had by all. Great evening, great entertainment and even greater company.

Hired the hall out for my aunties wedding reception on the 26th August. Everything was Absolutely wonderful, the hall is big enough to fit a good amount of people in as our family is a pretty big family to say the least & friends too! But from start to finish was amazing. The food was so good me & my parter had Soup for starter, beef for main & Eton mess for desert think we were all very full afterwards & then few hours later a buffet which was also very lovely food. Was an absolutely amazing day just want to say a big big thank you to all of the staff at greshams that bought the food out & helped out with our big day, they were all very polite and attentive.Thank you once again Greshams team!
