The best restaurants serving British food in Dacorum East of England

Highly recommend going to the Crabtree. Staff are incredible friendly even when they’re busy and short staffed. Tanya in particular was extremely welcoming and helpful when we were debating what to have off of the menu. Will definitely go again.

Lovely location, and great outdoor space. Food was basic, but not bad. Great waitress, her name was Ana. Polite, friendly and happy even though you could tell she was busy she still made time to talk and check everything was ok. Not much lighter choice if you wanted something small, for example a panini and salad for the smaller appetites would be good.

The fish and chips are not worth much, the other dishes are good enough. The place is very beautiful and relaxing on a good day. You have to go and order inside the pub and it's a bit of a hike

We were seated quickly without booking despite it being busy. It is a lovely, warm atmosphere with a brilliant selection of food and drinks (for our dog too!). The waitress Maddie was attentive and friendly and gave great food recommendations.

Fantastic authentic village pub. Fantastic staff lead by landlady Sue, buffet food served for family wake exceptional. Highly recommend a visit as offer live music too.. Hidden gem beyond Blackwells cafe with great parking and outdoor seating... Make the effort you won't be disappointed.

Sat outside in the sun ,the pub was busy and a lovely view of the canal ,drinks quite expensive

Amazing food, great service and a very nice, calm and quiet atmosphere, can’t wait to come back,and try more of the menu.

The crispy duck salad was a stand out winner. Absolutely amazing very light refreshing taste but also filling. Would come again for this. Nice selection of flavoured ciders

Visited for set lunch menu with a shared starter and shared dessert and two fish and chips - small portions but lovely food, good service and relaxed vibe. Wine bumped up the price more than we planned but no regrets as a lovely sunny lunchtime- will return

Really nice Wetherspoon pub located in a former ODEON cinema. Really liked the architecture and how the pub had been done out. The food and drink was served quickly and good quality.

Great service from Sarah J and Mercer our carver. My only criticism is the really dreadful music, really no 50s, 60s,70s,80s,or 90s. Just this constant Muzak made on a laptop in someone’s bedroom absolutely awful

Visited the cafe, waited over 1/2 an hour to be served. Only 2 people serving (slowly) one taking orders, other making hot drinks, then she wandered off, so other person left to do both. Saw 3 other members of staff. Also no one clearing tables, customers were just moving dirty stuff around, piling onto other tables. Need to get their act together, as it’s a popular and busy cafe.
