Very nice food, lovely staff and nice decor. 3 mains, 2 desserts and 6drinks for under £80.

Always warm in here and very welcoming friendly bar staff. I had Tasty Chicken Masaala with rice and nan breads. We always enjoy coming in here and under new management may get even better.

Food was great but had to wait for it

Don't recommend...I reserved a table with dinner and, surprise, kitchen closed at 20:00. The bartender said I should of paid when booked. Nowhere when booking was saying that.

Very disappointing. Booked a wake there. Hardly any staff behind the bar. The buffet we had ordered took a ridiculous amount of time to appear. Would definitely not recommend to use for functions.

Slow service and options offered on menu not available. Sides advertised to accompany mains, not on plate once served. Queried, still waiting..... Also, order taken for dessert when ordering main meal, only to be told they had run out after we had eaten our mains. Pre ordered food should be kept aside.

I think the restaurant could put another roast potato in, there was only 3 very small potatoes .Also the driver that delivered the food couldn’t find the house number and ended up ringing me he was looking on the wrong side of road and food was just warm not happy with warm food .

Nothing was great, very poor service I would expect better from I thought was a trusted brand. Staff couldn't find the table we had booked, when it was found we were not in restaurant as booked. Food then took nearly one hour to arrive. Poor quality when did, fish was like cardboard, pineapple not able to cut. I felt not able to send back to kitchen to recook because staff attitude not approachable. Online table service told not available because it was too busy.

Staff excellent over helpfull, especially Saturday 8th Feb will be back. Lady behind the bar was very good. I understand the landlord is new very good friendly and helpful. xxxxx

We ordered our food at 7.44 pm but half an hour later it had not arrived, and the bar staff assured us it would only be a few minutes. It's now gone 8.30 pm but still no sign of our dinner. This is sloppy in the extreme. After 45 minutes we asked when we would get our food and it arrived 50 minutes since we ordered. The haddock batter was rock hard. We will think twice before booking a table here again

What an absolute disgrace. Went there for a family birthday Booked the table for 14. Took 2 1/2 hrs to get the 1st meals out when the table opposite had there's before us. The birthday boy got his meal last, 3 hrs after booked and after everyone else had finished. Hi daughter we to inquires where his meal was and was falsely accused of swearing at the waiter, which she did not!! So after a rubbish meal that was very poor quality and outrageously poor service we ended up with one guest in tears and rest of us fuming. If I could have left a zero star review I would have. Complaints have been sent to Ember Inns. Absolute rubbish.

Went for a family birthday celebration. Without doubt the worst food ever Took 2 1/2 hrs for the birthday person to get served LAST night the party. Customer service was appalling. One of the staff accused one of our party of swearing at him when she did nothing of the sort. Ended up with that person crying. Whole birthday was spoilt. Don't go there. DONT GO DONT GO!!!!!!!!

This was absolutely trash the employees shouting at the customers. We’ve also been waited for are food for over 3 hours and the food was burnt. The tables are sticky. Never come here !!!!

Incredible service from the bar staff especially George and Sarah, quick and good quality. Food came out quickly and was very nice, Sarah was great when dealing with our meal and dining experience.

Can’t really say much about the food as we didn’t get that far. Booked up months ago for my family for Boxing Day. Got an email on Christmas morning saying sorry not doing food Boxing Day but I’m more than welcome to come in for a round of drinks and spend my deposit money. Laughable

She also helped in providing drawing paper and pencils for our 4 year-old grand-daughter. None of the cask ales were available thus reducing our choice of beer drinks.

Works Christmas dinner, the service was good, but the food could have been better. The starter of chicken wings was the highlight. Turkey main course was let down by cold and uncooked cabbage. The Christmas pudding dessert was good.

We turned up at 16.45 for our table at 17.00 for 10 people, yesterday 22nd December, only to see a note on door...kitchen closed. We had received an email earlier that day to ask us to confirm we were still attending. This was a family meal, and included children. and we came from different areas to meet there. The staff were clueless...will never book again, or recommend to anyone else...cannot give a 0...

Fabulous place with lovely staff. I reserved an area of the pub for a family gathering for a birthday, with buffet for 20 people. The Gold Service buffet was lovely. The thing that really made it for us though was Sarah,running the bar, sorting the timings for the food and making sure everything was seamless. She was brilliant, an absolute credit. Would absolutely recommend this place.

Absolutely disgusting food !! Oil used to cook chips , calamari and battered mushrooms hadn’t been changed for weeks tasted rotten calamari was soggy. Burger was cremated to a crisp lettuce looked days old absolutely stay away form this restaurant food is not worthy to rats !! 🤮🤮🤮

Don’t bother, ordered food waited over an hour for a starter that never came so went and asked! no communication on a delay went and asked to be told they had started our starters but they had a Christmas party in.

Had a great time drinking in the Crabtree. James was an upmost professional, really nice and great service. Saw him being helpful to a pair of old ladies, will be back for sure!

We pre-ordered our food which was a Christmas dinner with work colleagues. Starters took 1 hr 45 to arrive. Prawns were warm in prawn cocktail so people worried to eat them. Another hour for mains to arrive which were cold and roasts had 1 and a half roast potatoes on. Didn't wait for desserts. Would not return.

Never again awful service. Gave vegan the chicken curry after waiting over 1 & 1/2 hours! The dessert took forever too. Table not cleared. No apologies absolutely dreadful place. Heard the manager saying we've got no staff!

Beef rib very tender and delicious on inside but like jerky on the outside so a lot was wasted. Either meal deal isn't clear or we didn't receive some items. Ordered beef plus potato side assumed that would mean full beef roast plus extra helping of potatoes and gravy but only got half a cup gravy and 3 potatoes total. Not enough gravy to do justice to the roast. Drink was also missing which was supposed to be part of the deal. all in all quite expensive for what was delivered.

Lovely pub with very friendly and attentive staff. George served us recently and he was was great - very polite and couldn't do enough to make sure we had a good time. There's a good range of food on the menu. The garden is great in the summer, and the open fires are always nice in the winter!

I didn’t really enjoy my experience when I came with my mates to have something to eat. Improvements needed with service and how long we wait for food. I will revisit in a few months. I used to enjoy coming here such a shame to receive this experience

Would give a zero star if I could,2 hours for a roast dinner could of cooked it quicker at home,it's such a shame the crabtree used to be so good and we have been going here so long but yesterday was an absolute shambles we waited 1hour for cold chicken wings then another hour for our mains with a 2year old this is unexpectable.we were celebrating our granddaughters birthday and to be honest it was ruined she was so tired and fed up couldn't even do her cake,our food was not great either after waiting 2hours to get dried up food was very disappointing it's such a shame sort out your kitchen staff the staff in front of house was lovely but if you don't sort out the kitchen you will lose customers,it's such a shame our birthday celebrations was ruined really wish we went somewhere else.

Been there twice now and it is one of my favourite places to go for a meal. Nice service and the food was lovely.

Ordered Two Sunday roasts Ingredients "veg" in my opinion were Frozen and cooked in the oven. The type you can buy in the supermarket Gammon,Yorkshire and Gravey were fine. Could of made the dinner at home asked for apple sauce non available which is standard anywhere else. Food Quality very poor Not value for money

Service is very good in this time, they're trying to make sure everyone adheres to the distancung rules, whilst still being a good place to go for a drink. The food is always great too, love to grab a dinner here

Unfortunately when we arrived and begun looking at the menu (we had booked in advance for food and drinks) we were informed that the pub had taken on a table of 30 and due to this no food would be served from the kitchen at all. Unfortunately due to this we decided to leave and go elsewhere. However due to the fact we had booked prior it would have been nice to have received a call or email from the pub to notify us of the decision. The staff didn't seem to know what was going on and we were informed the kitchen couldn't cope with the large party plus other orders and so the party of 30 would be priority and nobody else would be getting food. I was not impressed and won't be rushing back for a Sunday lunch anytime soon

George was very helpful and very polite.

For the amount of money you pay plus a service charge it’s not worth ordering. The food was very dry and chips were hard and cold. Burgers was bland and no flavour. Kids meals was worse and even the kids was questioning is that it! Portion sizes was shocking and we will not be ordering again. Hope that’s not how people are served if they go into the pub.

I had my Birthday celebration on September 7th , we had the silver buffet which was amazing , staff were very friendly and helpful , great attention to detail , all my guests thoroughly enjoyed it , I would definitely recommend.

Two visits, midweek, 1030 ish. One in july - nice for a quiet pint and a chat. One in august - pub was closed and all lights off by 1030 despite opening hours showing as open until 11pm. One or two other pubs nearby fortunately still open.

Bar service was decent and some of the food servers where great one guy was pretty grumpy and let the team down, and wait time for desserts after mains was excessive, took over nearly 45mins (chased after waiting 30mins) Set menu was good value, however the lasagne for one main was smaller than a Tesco ready meal and 2 of the desserts were disappointing (sticky toffee pudding gritty texture, choc orange sponge was boring, bland and flavourless, cold outside jelly/jam in the middle so hot it burnt the mouth, would avoid all these dishes in future
