A party of 18 Foresters members had a Three course lunch with a Buddy Holly Tribute Act . The care and good customer service we received was followed by good delicious food and a first class performer who captured the era superbly well . A great time was had by all

We have been here on a Wednesday for senior meals, which I have said were lovely. Never had a complaint. Today Tuesday it was awful. The presentation was not good ( have taken pictures) we complained got told that is what a senior meals looks like. Went to eat what we could. Realized the peas had not been heated up. We complained again. It's such a shame as we enjoyed coming in at lunch times. But have been totally put with the way it was delt with. See

Went to an excellent beer/cider festival held 19-22 September Inc a band on the Friday night...being within a pub is a bonus for those who are non ale and cider drinkers. Hopefully another one next year...

Cracking boozer, excellent ales. Celebrated a fantastic birthday there. Their real ale festivals are top notch.

We were in Hemel for a day trip and a look around on a very wet day, decided to make the effort to walk the 0.7 miles from town to this pub, greeted with a hello and great service, food was full of flavour and pub was lush. Got in early so was quiet but lovely music playing and the staff were great. Started filling up as we finished never felt pressured to finish well done worth a visit.

Driving threw Boxmore see this lovely pub ,had breakfast, such a lovely owner really friendly and felt at home food was good ,definitely going back

I’ve been attending regular Tribute Events & other interesting events @ this pub for some time now. Have enjoyed a wide variety of talented artists including Elvis, Tina Turner, Elton John & Frank Sinatra to name just a few. These events are free entry on a Saturday night, midweek Tribute events include a 3 course selection of lunches for £15. The pub also hold numerous other events including Coffee mornings, Bingo/Music nights & much, much more. This pub has become my second home, my only wish is that I lived closer so that I could visit more frequently. Meals are also served throughout the day/evening & are value for money as well as very tasty. Drinks are reasonably priced. If you’re ever in the Hemel area this pub is a real gem & find.

We had a booked a meal for which we had paid in advance at this pub. Because of a medical problem we arrived slightly late. Initially we Were Promised a refund but then we're told we could not have any money back for a meal which we had already paid for! We were not allowed to sit at a table or eat the food which as I stress we had already paid for!! The staff were unbelievably rude and unpleasant to us. We were also there to see a so-called tribute act which was an utter joke. Loud and completely out I tune .

Main meal Hunters chicken . The sauce was warm however the chicken was cold. Very disappointing service. The pub wasn't busy. Got a sorry but nothing more and wasn't assured there was a real sorry for the problem. Didn't really enjoy replacement after disappointing first attempt.

This oldie worldie pub is absolutely brilliant! It's been a while since my husband and I visited and somebody mentioned to us that they have day time entertainment. You have to buy your ticket in advance for £15 per person but this includes a three course meal. You obviously pay for your drinks separately. The act today was a "Tom Jones" tribute and I can honestly say this guy was just brilliant, we loved it so much we bought tickets for the next act on the 10th June which will be an Elton John tribute, there was also a good age group. Lee the Manager was very helpful and accommodating which helped as I needed a certain chair to sit on due to my disability. I would like to say a big thank you to Simon and Lee who made sure our drinks were flowing. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending to family and friends the Three Blackbirds for a great afternoon of good food and great entertainment, that says it all really. Brilliant time, thank you again.

This Green King pub has a range of ales and offers a 10% discount CAMRA members. It's also not only Cask Marque accredited but they're even considerate enough to put the QR code I an easily accessed place. I have not tried the food here.

Went for lunch here & we were disappointed. It wasn't busy which should have been a sign. The glasses were very dirty & the food was dry & & not presented well . Soggy veg, or burnt cauliflower cheese was just a stalk , couldn't cut the Yorkshire pudding & burger was dry & tough. also cold All I would have sent it back had it not been a birthday lunch. I took my dog for afternoon tea and it was 100 times better than the food served for lunch. Will not be going back

Max was absolutely fab , and made us feel so welcome. . Food was delicious and arrived on time .😘 would recommend this place for family and friends . Can’t wait to return. Can’t praise all the staff enough. 10/10

Only popped un for a drink, largely based on social media posts about their cask ales. Seemed a busy and friendly local, we perused the menu, and it looked varied and not too expensive. They obviously do a lot of neighbourhood stuff what with paint parties and live music. I'd say if you're looking for a decent boozer for a pie and a pint you couldn't go dar wrong here.

Pub grub, but better than most, and at a normal price, lots of dogs there (the most dog friendly pub I have been in) great atmosphere, will go back

Went for meal with family today Good Friday.12 of us Greeted with a warm welcome , offered menus and given plenty of time to order .Food came out in good time and was hot and good size portions,servers were friendly and attentive.We all agreed the meals were very tasty and would definitely recommend the Three Blackbirds. Cool liltle pub nice food and good value for the money, on days like sundays, if you need somewhere were to eat when pretty much everybody else il closed, this would just do the job.

Excellent local pub very welcoming by all staff, particularly Lee and Charlotte the landlords. It is great for a catch up over breakfast - peaceful.and good value. Sunday lunch is good with some pub classics also on the menu. I often sneak in for a drink after work😉👍. Much more suitable for families now that Sky has gone. Thoroughly recommend.

We went to this pub on 27th November for an Event at lunchtime. Rod Stewart and a 3 course meal. It was fantastic. The staff were amazing and the food and Rod were fab. I was there far longer than I intended. I would definitely recommend this pub.

Lee and the gang put on an Elvis afternoon with a three course lunch. Started at 11.30 -3.30 It was one of the best afternoon my friends and I have had. Danny Graceland aka Elvis was absolutely brilliant. We often go to events here and the staff are all brilliant both lunchtime and evenings.

Visited on 27th November 2023 at lunchtime for a Rod Stewart tribute act. Great entertainment and atmosphere. Lee and his staff could not have been more friendly. I will definitely be going back.

The children’s Christmas breakfast was a faultlessly organised event at the highest level. The arrival of the ‘real Santa’ was received with glee. The children’s breakfast was ideal for their taste. The gifts were generous and the arrangements for parents and grandparents were ideal. Staff are well led and kind to every visitor. Full marks to the kitchen for coping under pressure. First time at the pub and it will not be the last.

Spent the afternoon here family chrismas drinks staff were lovley and friendly went out of they way to get milk for my coffee the pub chrismas decorations are fantastic so cosy and festive had such a lovley afternoon here 5 hours later and we left brillent great food great atmosphere today thanks u blackbirds

Once a year we get together in early December for a Xmas jumper night out with friends who don’t all live locally so travelled and booked hotels etc and we were turfed out onto the cold streets instead of being welcomed into the pub that we booked.

Need to look at web site regarding booking 3 course xmas meal booked table online following the Xmas fayre link. when we turned up it was not available we were told it needed to be pre_booked which was not specified on the booking. So we ordered off the main menu with which I was very disappointed i know these are ready meals but at least you could make sure they are hot, the barbecue sauce needs looking at as it was a glutinous blob with a skin on it, and the quality of the bacon which was a lump of fat could be improved. Would i recommend or return I am afraid not

Disappointing early doors visit. Had a Guinness but had to point out that glass was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned properly. Need to think about how they use glass washer and drying glasses. Would have had another but decided no.

The worst Sunday roast I’ve ever had in my whole life. I’ve had better microwave meals. The potatoes are basically raw. The meat is tough and chewy. Yorkshire pudding is aunt Bessie’s. You need a chainsaw to cut through the veg. Credit where credits due - you didn’t manage to mess up the stuffing so congrats on that. If you want a nice meal - don’t go here. Can’t believe you charge nearly £20 for this shambles of a meal. Edit: you should probably look through your reviews to know that your food has been complained about, especially the roast. I’ve seen it mentioned a few times in the past couple of months. I’ll never be back.

We went to this pub on 30th October for an Event, Elvis and a 3 course meal. It was fantastic. The staff were amazing and the food and Elvis were fab. I was there far longer than I intended. I would definitely recommend this pub.

Been today with friends to see Elvis impersonator and 3 course meal at lunch time. A great time was had by all. Elvis was absolutely amazing, so good a lot of us were videoing him. Nice lunch. Definitely be going back for more tribute acts.

Do not go here if you want to keep women safe. My friend was abused: threatened sexually, had a pint poured over her by a drug-infused thug. I intervened, and he threw a pint over me, threatened me with a glass, shouted that he was going to stab me. In full view and audibility of the pub. His “friends” bundled him away. Bar manger told him he was welcome to come back. Manager said if savanna “altercation”, that he had taken 4 conflicting views of the incident, but never spoke to me, the victim, nor my girlfriend who were siting on the same table when the thug attacked us. He did not even have the grace to speak to my female friend who was stacked and very shaken. Police came, but could not do anything as the Thug had disappeared, and no one was willing to get involved, while his “friends” covered tracks.

What a fantastic day I’ve just had in the Three Blackbirds, a group of 12 of us attended an Elvis Tribute lunch, excellent entertainment, good food & great service, I couldn’t fault it. Thank you to all the staff for brightening my Monday.

I went to the Elvis Tribute lunch today which was exceptional value and alot of fun. Everything was so well organised, Elvis impersonator sounded like Elvis, three course lunch was hot and delicious and all the staff were very friendly. I'm looking forward to the next one.

My husband and myself visted The Three Blackbirds in Hemel Hempstead on Friday the 6th October .The staff were very welcoming and the place lovely and clean ..My husband had the Signature bbq burger and chips and i had the Hunters chicken chips and salad .The meal was presented well and very tasty.I carnt wait for the next time i go back and have a meal .

Now this place is a bit special!! Not only is it a proper pub, the food here is top notch too. The menu is very varied and can be adapted within reason to suit individual diners' tastes, eg. I didn't fancy chips with my Hunters chicken, so I asked if mash was possible, and Hunters chicken with mash duly arrived, not only did it smell amazing but tasted pretty darn good too!! Lovely staff, and very welcoming atmosphere. (Going back tomorrow to enjoy the Sunday lunch!!) PS. Well people, Sunday lunch was arguably better than last evenings meal, 2 plates of very good, well cooked, wholesome food!! Lee, you're playing an absolute blinder here, please keep it up! I really envy the good folk of Boxmoor for having such a place on their doorstep!!

Hi everyone, I recommend Three Blackbirds pub. We often just appear without booking and they are always happy to accommodate us (6). Yesterday my family went there and I was home unwell. My family ordered a take away for myself and they were so nice that they sent me the meal in a plate, delicious and warm, just as if I have ordered at that moment. Thank you to all the staff that are always welcoming and they do care about their customers. The food is freshly prepared and you have a lot of choices. I do recommend you to go there, you will have a lovely experience.

They have themed evenings some live music, food fairly good, at reasonable prices, nice atmosphere.

Took my dog for a special birthday treat. Genius idea to have an afternoon doggy tea & help Macmillan charity in the process. Food was freshly cooked. Ice cream & tennis ball are an added treat. Brilliant service & friendly staff. Would highly recommend. My friend also had fish & chips which looked amazing.

Attend the pub frequently with a group for a variety of different activities, such as drinks nights, tribute nights & brunch etc. We have attended a number of tribute nights which we have thoroughly enjoyed, great acts & good party atmosphere. Last night was a Tom Jones tribute act who was a great singer. Have also organized a number of groups brunches at the pub which have been delicious & a favourite of mine is the eggs benedict. The staff, Lee & his team are always very welcoming, friendly & helpful. I popped in today to get some cakes & support the fundraising charity cake sale for Macmillan & stayed for lunch which was a very nice short rib of beef, with mash & tenderstem broccoli. I noticed while I was in there a board advertising a mum's coffee morning which is great for mum's to get together with other mum's. It would have been lovely to have that when I was bringing up my children. They were also promoting a lunch & Elvis entertainment for people to attend & meet others & make friends, ideal for anyone feeling a bit lonely & wanting people to enjoy a meal & some company with. The manager Lee has lots of different things going on in the pub from the monthly tribute nights, mum's coffee mornings, interactive quiz nights, bingo, breakfast, coffee & cake & more. A great local pub. Staff couldn't do enough for us, really friendly. Celebrated our sons' big birthdays with finger buffet which was plentiful. Love this pub. Quiz night looked great fun too.

Went in for dinner as a family of 5 service was fab to start with asked starters to all come out together however they didn’t which wasn’t a problem when main meals arrived my daughter found lots of mould on her wrap (diy taco) Childs meal, very noticeable to anyone serving up, I took it to the bar and they were very apologetic we have used this pub for many years and never a problem but unfortunately the chef did not have the same attitude. He also stated he was busy and would get the sauces we asked for out when he was ready. He also served a Calvert after we found the mould with more bread that was mouldy Advice to you get a new chef or you will lose a lot of customers We all felt so so sick. The bar staff were great not their fault and did only charge us for drinks as no one wanted to eat after that def not the experience you want to ever have to have and def won’t be eatting there again in a hurry.

Me and my friend decided to try somewhere different for once on a Friday lunch time, after finishing work for the week. We entered the pub where it was lovely and quiet and decided to sit outside in the sun for some lunch and a wine. When ordering at the bar, I didn’t bring my identification, so wasn’t able to order my wine, which I accepted and ordered cola instead. My 28 year old friend still went to order her wine where she was asked to present ID, which she did. Whilst handing the ID over to a member of staff behind the bar she was declined her wine as he said the ID she presented was fake. We were very taken back by this as the ID was most definitely not fake, if anyone was trying claim they was over the age of 18, why would they have the date of birth 10 years +. After this, we decided to go back to our usual spot and got refunded for my food and cola. My advice to you would be to get a scanner in place that can verity ID’s as this has left us feeling disappointed and will not return due to a member of staff actually saying the words this is fake. This is something we would never argue with it was not worth the hassle and decided to move on.

Being our local, we visit The Three Blackbirds regularly and always enjoy our experience there - great prices, great service & great food. As a vegetarian, I’m always impressed with their extensive veggie options. We visited last week with my parents and had a fantastic meal - the food was fresh and delicious, service was fantastic and the price extremely reasonable. Looking forward to our next visit 😊

Told a 27 year old member of our party their driving licence wasn’t genuine as it didn’t have a particular hologram (licence issued in October 2013, prior to the introduction of hologram referred to in February 2014). Refused service at the bar because bar staff are not up to date on identification legislation. Manager came to the conclusion via a phone call that the ID was not genuine.

Wouldn’t accept valid ID for a 27 year old, ID had never been questioned beforehand. Questioned over a hologram which had not been introduced until after the ID had been issued. Staff and management clearly not up to date on identification legislation, and wholly unhelpful....

I visited last Saturday, as I do every Saturday, and sometimes Friday, or more often if I haven't got to get up for work! I was asked to leave another review. As always, I have no critism from my perspective. The atmosphere is excellent, the staff friendly and efficient, and the food and drink perfect. 11/10!!

Went to pub for dinner with friend. Warm welcome. Very helpful 2 men bar staff. Seating a bit uncomfortable as too high for me. Food fresh ,hot and tastful. Pie could have a bit more filling . Reasonably priced. Toilets in ladies was not pleasant though needs updating . Nice size garden but tables dirty so sat inside.

Long time no see. The garden looks good, the staff are friendly and welcoming. Must say I love the cheeky sign on entry. I'm afraid that much of the seating is uncomfortable. I remember how nice it was to sit in the alcove but not any more. Why have you locked the gate to the pub from the car park?

Visited this eve as a family of 7 (2 adults and 5 kids) for a Sunday roast. Landlord/landlady always very accommodating.We pre ordered so that we could ensure we still got roasts after the lunch time rush. Food was great, as was service. Good size...

Much better garden than pre covid. Decorations have been updated. Clientele are more mixed now rather than being heavily young biased drinking heavily mixed drinks. Live music back for the kings coronation which was good to se and hear
