Took my wife and 96 year old mother in law for supper. Proper pub food. Two fish and chips and one steak and ale pie. Very good and all eaten up. Coffee afterwards which was hot and strong. All served by some lovely young ladies. What’s not to like and would go again. 😀

We originally went to the pub over 10 years ago and found it was lovely, however would never go again, or recommend it too! My husband decided to surprise me and my 3 kids, and took us for mothers day last weekend. The road leading up to the carpark was closed, which wasn't the pubs fault but did mean we had to go 10 minutes around. We got there and it was absolutely freezing inside. We were the only people in the pub the whole time. The service was very slow and inattentive. Our food came, and as you can see from the images, my daughters burger looked like it was made from scraps of burnt pieces of beef. It didn't even fill out the bun. Her chips looked like they were the small bits leftover when enough food isn't made. My other two children ordered chips which were a whopping £12 (when the online menu says they're £5), and no bigger then a mcdonald's medium portion. I got the vegetarian sweet potato roast. The sweet potato part was alright. But it came with, what I can only describe as, microwave veg. It looked like leftover pieces. And the gravy already poured all over. The roasted potatos weren't even properly roasted. My husband ordered the pie of the day. He said it was fine. It wasn't amazing or bad, he did the say there wasn't enough gravy and it was very watery - though he got it at the side and not pre poured over, like mine. I wouldn't recommend if you've not been before.

Walked down with the dog for a bite to eat. We ordered tapas bits, cheese dip, pulled pork chips & garlic prawns. I was pleased to find that dogs are now welcome in more of the pub, as I believe they were previously restricted to the small bar on the right. The service from the lady who looked after me was first class, welcoming, chatty & efficient, she was also the only member of staff which I could identify as staff. The other staff especially the tall lad were just dressed scruffily and you couldn’t tell if they were staff. So when he leaned over us to collect glasses it was a little uncomfortable until we realised he must be staff. A uniform or badge would be a great addition. And to be honest, at £17-19 for main dishes I would expect a little bit smarter or at least be able to identify the staff. The food was good aside from the prawns. They were £6.95 and we received 7 small prawns in a dish. Perfectly nice to eat, but these were really quite small and we both commented on the size and general quantity vs price. The only other grumble was that we waited over 40 mins for food, only 3 small dishes too. I’m sure we will be back, but just a few things that need a bit of attention.

We have just got home from a posh pub dinner !!! We have been there for valentines and anniversaries, a spare of the moment, where should we go for dinner... tonight was somewhere warm with fire and relaxed to finalise our wedding ceremony and discuss Vows. The place is normally packed but tonight, as the road was closed, we had the whole place to ourselves! Really was just us and staff !!! The pub has 3 rooms, Dining room was big and cold The bar was warm but packed with drinkers. So we sat in the little room that's not usually used, had a fire and 4 tables, Just us so no need to be hushed or worried anyone would hear what we were talking about. All forms filled and submitted. We had the Special pork belly. Favorite love being songs played etc. And tomorrow we do the notices at the Registry office and by our rings! It was quite a special evening.

Possibly the most charming pub I've ever visited. It's in a beautiful location alongside the canal. It has unspoiled original features in every corner which were delicately enhanced by Christmas decorations. The food on the Christmas menu was delicious, plentiful and so reasonably priced. And no venue is complete without it's staff and these lovely people couldn't have been more helpful either. It was absolutely the most perfect choice for a Christmas meal with my family. Thank you

I've been going for years and always have a good meal and time. However, last time we sat at our booked table for 30 minutes and had to go to the bar to find out it's order at the bar (never has been before so assumed a change), then a couple came in and got full table service which seems confusing.

Over priced & bland. Before lockdown this used to be one of the best places to grab a bite to eat! Since lockdown the menu is boring, the food is well over priced & bland. We paid for chicken goujions on the specials menu which cost 7.95 for 3 greasy goujions with some bland dip! You get no salad garnish nothing! Wtf We also ordered the chorizo & cheese dish which consisted of cheap bland cheese( melted cheese slices) chunks of chorizo & 3 tiny pieces of bread! Think they expect you to eat the rest with a spoon 😂 Breads & oils again 3 skinny bits of bread & a cup of oil with vinegar. Think they need to reevaluate the menu options & lower the prices. The white horse around the corner blows them out of the window!

This marvellous pub dating from 1600’s is bang slap right next to the Grand Union canal and with a generous outdoor seating area the 3 Horseshoes is very much a destination pub. Having said that despite its popularity meal service seems to be swift and good value for money. This pub is open from midday and is an ideal place for passing boaters to tie up for refreshments. Excellent staff always happy to help, serve and evidently enjoy working at this place. Parking is easy ( in my experience) in either of their own car parks that do get full over a weekend assuming the weather is fine ! They offer a selection of Charles Wells hand pulled ales so all good in my opinion!

Cozy pub and great location with good range of lagers and beverages. Went for a Saturday evening meal and nearly all of the menu was sold out, it would have been nice had they told us that 20 minutes before when we booked the table but neverless we persevered. I attempted to get the only vegan option on the menu but that had also sold out, thankfully there was a vegetable curry and rice on the special menu which was very nice, just lacking a bit on the curry side for 16 quid. We all ordered at the same time but the waitress looked visibily confused when bringing out the food because she only had 3 plates, asked again what he was having and said it was on its way it would just be a couple of minutes.....15 minutes later it arrived! Definitely forgot and tried to play it off but as a positive no one complained about the quality of the food, it was pretty good. It is a shame, this pub used to be brilliant.

Booked a table for a group of our friends. Website menu looked great, but the available menu on the night was poor, very poor. I had asked by email if we could run a ‘tab’ for each couple, we usually try to do that, it saves the uncomfortable ‘settling up’ issues that can arise. There was no response to the emails, so we were left dividing the bill, and that did cause unwanted complications. Staff were pleasant, but menu options were so limited that several of us struggled to find anything that we actually wanted to eat. If there are few fancied options, I will usually opt for a steak if I have to. Like so many places these days The Three Horseshoes is a burger joint with a couple of pub classics, shepherd’s pie, hunter’s chicken… you know the kind of thing. It the view is nice, when it isn’t raining quite so hard.

Pre booked evening for a birthday celebration, Saturday. Checked menu online - looked amazing, decent prices and lovely choices. Got to the pub, empty. Sat down and saw a menu that had zero resemblance to the online version. Ham, egg and chips - £17. A list of specials that looked better but the majority not available. Most of us ordered pie and mash, but only one portion mash available - what??? Only one choice of lager as 3 were finished. The only reason for the two star rating is for the staff, and especially the lovely young lady who tried her best, poor girl, wasn’t her fault at all and she should not be put in this position. To the management- what are you playing at? Your online menu is a fraud, your management is obviously awful and for the prices you are charging you should be ashamed. Won’t be visiting again.

The building itself is very interesting and the staff seem friendly however I am not paying nearly £10 for a small bottle of Prosecco. I had some very mediocre white wine instead - my partner said the beer was ok. It was very disappointing to be told at 8.30pm that the kitchen was closed especially as all we wanted was the bread and dipping oil to go with our drinks. I wouldn't have thought that it would have been beyond the abilities of a member of staff to go and cut some bread and pour some oil but clearly they didn't want the sale.
