My daughter and I stopped off for lunch on Saturday. It was a beautiful day and we sat outside. We hadn’t booked this time but had arrived early so it was fine. It did get very busy soon after. We both had a quinoa, sweet potato and pomegranate salad with a delicious Dijon dressing and a side of skin on fries. The gentleman who looked after us was very attentive. We requested a Sauvignon Blanc to have with our meal. It was excellent and found out later it was Chilean. I like Chilean red but had never tried the white. For dessert we both had the vegan rum baba and it didn’t disappoint. I’m not a vegetarian but the meal was perfect for a sunny day. Will definitely go again and make a point of booking.

Unfortunately, we were extremely underwhelmed with the food. Ordered the steak and ale pie which came with chunky chips and veg. The pie was a slice of a large pie and was honestly the worst steak and ale pie I’ve had in a pub. No flavour so very under seasoned. I’m pretty certain the gravy in the pie and on the side was a bisto granules mixture due to texture and thickness. A cheap supermarket pie in my opinion tastes much better. The veg was cold and again no seasoning or butter on the side. Service was average. I would not recommend this item from the menu and unfortunately won’t return to this pub.

Amazing Sunday lunch, really good portion size and had a great chat with the staff and owner. We will be back for the fireworks next week!

We arrived to set up which was easy enough good location the staff behind the bar was so rude and felt like they didn’t wanna be there just no need for that sort of customer service which was a shame as we spent a lot of money and at the end of the night after we had paid everything they then expected us to pay £150 cleaning fee which was never mentioned we never paid it as that was wrong the bouncer was amazing lovely guy and overall had a great evening perhaps they need to just look at there bar staff

Enjoyed our family lunch today (Wed 16th) good food at competitive prices. Served as usual by Annie with whom we always have a friendly banter whilst she takes our order & again prior to our departure .. the ideal waitress, both efficient & friendly.

Really nice chilled atmosphere when arriving c. 8pm on Friday 21st Feb. Got served straight away. No crowding, found a table. Leffe was topped to the brim and very tasty. Food however was a different matter - My order of chicken topped bacon + cheese was devoid of any heat at all. The peas were literally stone cold. The chips that were served with it were hot. My wife's Barbecue chicken pizza was poorly cooked the dough virtually uncooked in places. The barbecue sauce had just been squirted in a couple of places on top rather than being an integral part of the pizza base. We did talk to the waiter (of apparent chinese extraction) however an AI robot would have had more empathy. We didn't think it was worth our while complaining and sending the dishes back as who knows what might happen in the kitchen to punish us for deigning to complain. So the next night of our stay in Brentwood we went to the supermarket and got a takeaway kebab !

I visited Rooster Piri Piri with my mum, excited to try it as it looked so good. However, when I saw the menu, I was shocked by the high prices, which didn’t seem worth it at all. After trying the food, I ended up with a stomach ache the next day. The food was flavorless, and the chicken burger I ordered turned out to be a disappointment—a mini chicken wing with a bone was thrown into the burger. I ordered extra hot chicken, but it wasn’t hot at all; it was bland. I felt sick and couldn’t finish my food, eventually having to throw it away. I will never order from here again and do not recommend it to anyone. If you want grilled chicken, go elsewhere.
