Service was good, food a little bland but served a purpose while working away from home, WiFi was good so could work at the table.

Having spent 4 nights away, I appreciated the variety and quality of evening meals and breakfasts on offer at Thyme. The evening meal choices gave a good selection, enabling me to try something different each evening and I wasn't disappointed with any of my meals. The breakfasts were freshly cooked and the additional option of poached eggs and omelettes added a nice touch. On top of all this, there was a friendly and efficient staff. I look forward to going back.

Ate here twice during our stay. At tea time we both had a rump steak and chips, black coffee and a Coke. The price was close to £30. The steak was tiny, the chips were uncooked and hard, the Coke ( served in a glass bottle) tasted of detergent when poured into the glass and could be drunk. We were both starving afterwards. What a waste of money. The rating would have been terrible if it was just a based on this. Avoid at all cost for an evening meal. The breakfast was buffet style and was great. Yogurts, fruit, toast, bacon, sausage, eggs, cold pancakes, cakes, porridge, juice, tea and coffee. I would recommend for a breakfast - it was included as part of the room deal at the premier inn.

This restaurant is situated on the ground floor of the Premier Inn, a ew minutes walk from Brentwood Station, for trains to Stratford and London Liverpool Street. It is open to the general public. I had a pleasant meal, based on their meal deal - potted crab; grilled salmon; cheese board and a glass of wine. Well cooked and well presented, with pleasant and attentive staf. When I came to pay the bill (by card), the waitress wouldn't allow me to add a tip, despite good service. Unfortunately, I didn't have any cash with me.

Don't ever stay here. NO STAFF NO BAR DRINKS AS RUN OUT BAD MANAGEMENT STAFF CRYING AS UNDER PRESSURE THE WORST PREM INN I HAVE EVER STAYED AT I witnessed people leaving the bar and restaurant as there was no staff to help them. Many of the drinks had run out and reception gave excuses that the ordering system had gone wrong but when speaking to the locals it seems they always run out of stock every week. This premises is the worst prem inn I have ever visited

We regularly stay at this Premier Inn and eat at Thyme with the "Meal Deal". Usually we have steaks because they are so good here. This time, for a change, I thought I would try the Mixed Grill - Steak, Chicken, Gammon, Sausage & an egg. Chips, peas tomato and mushrooms on the side. (Chips are really good but not many of them - enough though.) Another excellent meal. As previously the steak was fabulous, chicken breast surprisingly moist, tender gammon & tasty sausage. Even the fried egg was runny. What more could you ask for? The enthusiastic & friendly Chef - Redaih (apologies if I spelt the name wrongly) regularly comes out and speaks to customers, which is a lovely touch and also gives us the opportunity to feedback to him in person - good & bad. Brilliant The next morning the breakfast chef was just as accommodating and as usual my wife had a perfect poached egg. Overall, just what you need from a Hotel restaurant.

We were the first in the restaurant on this particular occasion, the waitress guided us to a table and asked if we would like drinks. We ordered 2 lagers, a coke and a glass of water with ice. They took that long to come we thought they must have been brewing the lager. Only 1 starter was ordered but 4 mains. Thyme mixed grill, T-Bone steak, Sirloin Steak and a gammon. When the meals arrived the portions were small, one so much so we asked for more fries as we thought the chef had forgotten to put them on the plate. The Sirloin was ordered rare, it came well done. The T-Bone medium rare but came well done. Overall the whole experience was disappointing. Prices were pretty much inline with most other establishments the experience wasn't. I wouldn't recommend it. There is far better available.

We are staying at the Premier tonight and took a chance with eating at the Thyme as after a long drive we were tired but have had bad experiences previously at other Thyme restaurants around the country. Anyway, we were greeted by the lovely Roz (I hope I have spelt it right), who seated us and from start to finish was very professional, even when we had a couple of questions about the meal when it first came out and the fact that she seemed to be on her own to seat, take orders, bring drinks and food to tables as well as at times behind the bar serving. Although she had more than half a dozen tables to serve (one of them a larger table) she was on the go at all times and looking one step ahead. At one point, being that I work in catering also and know how hard a work it is I wanted to get up and give her a hand but was actually enjoying my food too much. Very pleasantly surprised by all the meals. The battered prawn and the duck parcels starters were lovely. The steaks were cooked well and the burgers were meaty, juicy and extremely flavoursome. Very good value for money being that my husband and I had the menu saver meals. Well done guys, lovely meal and you have convinced me that not all Thyme restaurants are the same. And Roz, thank you very much for your exemplary service. This lady is a credit to your team.

We regularly stay at this Premier Inn and have the "Meal Deal" so usually dine here. The staff are really friendly and service excellent. The Food is fairly typical & the menu runs across the corporate offering but is usually very good here so clearly at the moment there is a good chef driving the kitchen. Furthermore, very unusually the Steaks here are almost always fantastic! Whether there is a local meat provider or just a really good steak chef, I don't know. The one time I had a poor steak I mentioned it and it was instantly replaced - well in the time it took to cook another!

I stayed at the Premier Inn and was the first customer to enter when the restaurant opened, so there was ample staff to take my order and bring drinks and food. My meal would have been the first to be cooked that evening. I had the meal deal option (which included the breakfast the following morning) and my starter (tempura prawns) and desert (bread and butter pudding) were perfect. However, as soon as the main course (salmon steak) was delivered something didn't look quite right - although it subsequently turned out to be tasty, so the problems were not with the ingredients but the preparation. The meal was served in a fairly small round dish, with even the jug of sauce inside the rim, touching the food - so the presentation was not good - even poor. Normally, in other Thyme restaurants, this dish it is served on an oblong platter and usually looks appetising - but not this time. Now, I'm no a food connoisseur but the presentation didn't look right. I had swapped the fries for mashed potatoes, which appeared to have been slopped onto the plate, partly covering the fish. Those who can remember Smash (and the Martian advertising theme), will understand how that looked. The bearnaise sauce seemed to have a film of oil on the top and the fish skin was burnt and soggy. (The Masterchef judges always seem to expect crispy skin !) When I paid the bill the waitress refused to accept a tip because of my comments - but the problems had been in the kitchen and it was a shame the waiting staff, who were attentive and pleasant, missed out. The breakfast was standard Premier Inn - although, as the hot food was laid out under lamps, some items were barely warm. Maybe not the chef's fault this time, but the system used by Premier Inn.

Burger was tasteless and tough; prawn cocktail should have been called a lettuce cocktail. Service however was perfectly good. It was a Saturday night and as good as empty. That should have been our warning sign! Recommend ignoring the convenient proximity of the restaurant (inside The Premier Inn) and looking further afield.

We went to the Thyme on a Sunday evening, a group of 14. Our server was efficient, helpful and entertaining. The food was lovely and hot, we all had different things and everyone said how nice it all was. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. The bill for 14 was about £320 including wine, beer, and many of us had 3 courses, very reasonable. I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

We stayed 3 nights at the Premier Inn in Brentwood last week visiting for my niece's wedding. We had two dinners and two breakfasts there during our stay. The food was really good and the staff very friendly.But...the service was painfully slow - and they weren't all that busy!We had bought their package - 2 course dinner, drink and breakfast. But on the fist night the waiter took forever to get our order right or even explain had it worked. We waited for ages for our various courses. And then I asked for the bill. 20 minutes later it has still not arrived and had to ask for it again. Dinner the next evening was much the same.Breakfast on the first morning was so disorganised. We has to wait for food to be prepared at the breakfast buffet, they ran out of fruit and we waited ages for them to fill the bowls and they also ran out of mushrooms because of a delivery problem. The chef seemed to be so stressed and disorganised.Breakfast second time round with a different chef was so much better. At the bar one evening we asked for two coffees for our guests. After an endless wait I has to ask for them again! As I said the food all round was great and the staff friendly and personable. Not sure why things took so long.

I have eaten here twice before, last time rating it as excellent - but not this time. They needed more staff to cope with volume of diners and the 3 staff that were eventually on duty could not cope. The restaurant opens at 6 and I arrived at that time. There was only one waiter who was serving customers at the far end of the restaurant and I had to wait for several minutes before 2 waitresses appeared out of nowhere.I ordered one of their meal deals and the starter and main course were excellent and served quickly. When the main was served, I was asked if I would like another drink, and I ordered a Merlot, from their wine list. About 5 minutes later they said they didn't have any Merlot, probably only 45 minutes after opening time ! Not really acceptable in a restaurant. When my plate was cleared, I was asked if I would like desert menu, which I did. 10 minutes later no menu and, eventually, a staff member passed and I was found one. I ordered, but it took another 10 minutes for that to arrive. So the food was good. The staff were polite and apologetic, but the service was atrocious as the numbers were inadequate. I always leave a tip (adding it to the card charge), but I hoe that adding just 1p would let the management know how I felt.Of course, part of the meal deal is breakfast the following morning. Again, the restaurant was busy. I went for cup of coffee from their el-serve Costa Coffee machine. No mugs. No teaspoons. When these were provided (not enough staff again, to check that supplies were adequate ?), the machine provided me with a third of a mug of Latte. Waited for the machine to be fixed - and found it would only gave two-thirds of mug this time - but a normal Costa Coffee it was not.

This restaurant is within the Premier Inn Croydon Town Centre hotel - but open to the general public. As with all Thyme brand hotels, it does suffer from a limited menu, but the food I ordered was well cooked and presented well. The staff were attentive and helpful. Th restaurant does not open until 18:00, though.I had breakfast the following morning - standard pemier In breakfast, although only a cooked breakfast is served here. However, it was freshly cooked, unlike my last visit when the cooked items were kept warm under lamps. Again, helpful and attentive staff.

We stayed at the Premier Inn for one night and ate in the restaurant. The food was really delicious, especially the multi-fried chips, and was served piping hot, so we couldn't fault it.Also had breakfast which was good, a bonus was the hot buffet style service. Quite often Premier Inns are attached to pub-style restaurants and the food at breakfast is cooked to order, much nicer to have a choice, and the option to return...

The restaurant is in the Premier Inn, about 2 minutes walk from Brentwood Station. It is open to the public as well as those staying at the hotel.I have been here before and the food is good with pleasant, attentive staff. However, when I ordered, I asked that my main course have the chips replaced with a salad, but, despite this, it cam with chips - and it was sent back. Otherwise, there were no further problems.Breakfast, though typical Premier Inn breakfast, they do NOT provide the cheaper Continental version, just a full English. The plates for the cooked meal were stone cold and the croissants overcooked and dry. The waiting staff, although polite, had not noticed that the Costa Coffee machine was displaying a fault message and the resulting drinks were not up to Costa Coffee usual standards even when the machine fault had been rectified. Breakfast was below standard and not worth the amount paid. For these reasons, oly an average rating.
