The service was excellent, the food was nice. It was lovely to sit and chat and catch-up as we enjoyed our food.

Never been before but popped in for breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The whole experience was great. Highly recommend.

Came to the Golden Fleece for lunch with my boyfriend and was greeted by the lovely plain Jane and served by a lovely waitress didn’t catch her name but will 100% be returning

A lovely warm welcome and attentive staff but the food was a let down. The chicken was dry, the chips were hard and steak was tough. We were disappointed with our meal.

Visited today for a family get together, good choice of food and drinks fairly priced. Vikki did a great job looking after us, wonderful service, so friendly, thank you.

This is the second time I’ve dropped into the Golden Fleece for supper while staying away on business. Food is as you’d expect… reasonably priced and perfectly acceptable, the atmosphere mid week whilst eating alone is always going to be a little odd, but the service is excellent! Ky has been excellent on both occasions; super friendly, always helpful, and makes a quick supper enjoyable. Thank you.

We had a fantastic experience at the Brentwood Harvester this evening. Despite the team being one member of staff down, our waitress Katie was absolutely exceptional. The restaurant was very busy, yet she remained attentive throughout and made sure our table of seven received a truly personal and admirable level of service. Katie’s professionalism and friendly manner made our evening feel really special. A big shout out as well to Nathanial at the bar — he greeted us warmly when we arrived early, provided us with drinks promptly, and impressively remembered our order later into the evening. His respectful and cheerful service really added to the positive atmosphere. Thank you to the whole team for making our visit so enjoyable, even under pressure. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a good evening food was very good. We were served by Kye who gave excellent service, very pleasant and sociable. Explained one of our party had allergy he made a note of this and informed Kitchen Staff. Food was very good and hot. It was birthday for one of our party So Kye kindly offered to take family photo for us. Nothing was to much trouble . Thank you Kye. We will be back.

Quite annoyed on the basis we our purchased refill and the refill ran out and the staff member didn’t do anything so paid for something that we didn’t benefit from other than one drink

We traveled from Birmingham and was welcomed by Vikki, absolutely lovely waitress! Was so polite and helpful. My son has allergies and she went to get a manager to take our order. Meal checked us and made sure we were all enjoying ourselves and comfortable. Working for Mitchell and butlers myself for Miller and Carter I'm impressed with her service!

As a couple we were seated. We were told they were short staffed and was a short wait however they say this all the time and we normally get drinks and a salad bowl quite quickly which tides us over. This time however we still hadn't been personally acknowledged after 25 min, we just sat there, got eye contact a couple of times, smiled but nothing. By 30 min we just left and don't think we will go back The food is lovely, the staff are friendly but they are constantly understaffed and it's wrong for higher management to think it's okay. The staff look worn out and I really feel for them. This place used to be packed but people are avoiding it now. We have had a delivery before but the portion size was tiny.

Food was great and service was quick and friendly....... The pot holes in the carpark could use some attention. But other than that a great place for dinner.

Thank you Vikki for looking us so well for family lunch. Allergies and toddlers alike were taken care of, and food was demolished! Excellent service from a fabulous waitress.

13 of us and everything was perfect. Brilliant food and service!

Three of us went to this restaurant on the14/4/25, and I have to say what a big mistake it was. The food was disgusting from start to finish. My mushroom starter was cold and the mushrooms were rubbery. My husbands chicken wings were overcooked. When our mains arrived after a long wait, were lukewarm. I had the half chicken with sweet potato fries and their so called signature gravy (which was tasteless). Husband had the ribs, which were of poor quality. Our relative had the chicken burger. As for our drinks, the tea and coffee were again lukewarm and my Elderflower cordial with sida water was missing the cordial. I have never been so disgusted by the quality of the good in a restaurant. As for the staff, two of the waitresses were polite enough, however, when I made a comment about my starter to another waitress, all I got was a huff from her and she left with our plates. We will certainly not go there again, and I would not recommend this restaurant.

There was only one server, the starters were undercooked and sat in a bowl of oil. I was then passed a hot plate, which burnt my hand. The only upside was the staff member was polite.

To begin this eventful night, we put our orders in at 6:50 and immediately went to the salad bar to get some food. To much shock, there was no pasta, barely any sweetcorn, no croutons at all and many more empty sections where there was supposed to be food. This limited the selection quite substantially and I was even more disappointed as I had planned to have pasta and sweetcorn before hand. After that, we waited until 7:45 until our mains started coming out (keep in mind it is a Monday night with many empty tables). Waiting over 50 minutes for our mains to come out had my expectations rather high, however I was once again disappointed by the lack of freshness of my plate. I had paid £19 for my meal, the chicken was almost cold and hard, the chips were very stale and the leaf garnish was wilted and unappetising. My friend had ordered the Ribeye steak medium rare and when it came out it was well done and extremely tough. He had also ordered peppercorn sauce on the side that was forgotten. Another problem was that our server took almost 10 minutes to bring out our drink glasses and the forgotten peppercorn sauce despite them not being busy at all, but I will say she was very polite and patient when solving our problems. Overall, I had quite a disappointing experience and would not advise people to come here. If you want to go to a Harvester I recommend any other one nearby, the Brentwood one is significantly underperforming and I will not be returning any time soon!

went with a large group of people. i work in hospitality try myself so i understand that not everything will go perfectly, and they seemed pretty low on floor waiters so i understand that the service may not be quick the main problem was the food- it’s not exactly cheap and it was clear that most of it had been sitting under a heat lamp for a considerable amount of time. the wait was 40 mins which is understandable for a table of 8, but the fact that the food was lacking was disappointing. my sweet potato fries were good but the tacos were not good, just limp mini wraps with hardly filling my friend ordered a medium rare steak and what came back was long past well done the atmosphere was peaceful as it was a monday

The waitress Ellie was lovely however there wasn't enough staff and we waited ages to even order, then even longer for our food to actually come. It was all really underwhelming and just kinda gross. The steak pictured is apparently medium rare. Don't go x

So this review comes as a M&B worker myself. Having forgotten it is half term I walked into the restaurant requesting a table of 4. The ‘gentleman’ at the host point was far from being a gentleman, he was very dismissive and rushed me away. I have been to many of our sites and the treatment at this one was appalling to say the least. I will definitely not be returning.

Very busy as expected on a mothers day but the team of waitresses were doing a great job under the circumstances. The atmosphere was to be expected as well with all that going on. The food was kind of on par for a Harvester, not so much food for what you pay and not really the best cuts. The rack of ribs was more half a rack, steak skewers only had 3 pieces of meat, 3 pieces of onion. The salad bar was okay I just wish it had a bit more variety.

What a lovely experience we had here for mothers Day. We had a table for 6, and although the service was a bit slow because they were very busy and understandably, we still had a great time. Sue, our table server, was fantastic. She was always pleased to help and had a smile all the time. Really makes a difference even though she was very busy. All in all, we had a lovely meal and a wonderful experience

Mother’s Day 30th March , our first time ever visiting this particular Harvester ,upon arrival we were greeted with a very welcoming smile , taken to our table where members of staff all said hello as we passed by . The restaurant was extremely busy but we were well taken care of, the food was excellent, some items were sold out but seeing as it was so busy that’s expected and goes to show how amazing this little gem of a place is . The staff bent over backwards to help and cater to our needs , the Manager went above and beyond and was very friendly , we had a little cheeky banter which made the atmosphere so friendly ,I can not give high enough praise , 100% worth the travel , we will definitely be revisiting .

We arrived at 6 pm , when it was virtually empty. Despite that it took two hours and eventually demanding to see the manager to get our food. By the time we did eat the place was busy. It was our grandsons birthday but the whole evening was spoilt for us by the continual wait. They did take the birthday boys meal off our bill but it didn’t match the ruined evening. The food when it did arrive was disappointing but by then we just ate up and left. Too late even for dessert.

Jane at the front of house was absolutely amazing, perfect customer service and so friendly would definitely recommend coming back just for the service

Vikki is absolutely amazing every time we come she is so welcoming and kind! We come from a residential home in Doddinghurst and regularly bring our guys here for lunch and vikki is so accommodating every time and engages with them makes it part of a normal experience for them with no judgement! Would recommend it here every time absolutely fantastic place and staff!

We arrived at 8.40pm. Salad bar was empty. Food took 1.5 hours, they didn't have any rotisserie chicken then didn't deliver the beef nachos, instead bringing a burger. All fries were cold. We will never visit again

Always come to this harvester with my partner and they’re such a lovely bunch, the workers are always so friendly and warming. They’re like a lil family so it’s cute and the manager has done a good job managing this harvester, compared to the other managers I’ve have come across before at other restaurants <3

The staff are welcoming and always happy to help, making sure any issues are sorted quickly and smoothly. Even when it’s busy, they keep things running well and make sure customers leave satisfied. The food is tasty, the salad bar is fresh, and the overall experience is always enjoyable. If you’re after good food and great service, Harvester won’t disappoint!

My family had a lovely meal at the harvester in Brentwood, service was very fast, had a lovely waiter named kye he made us all feel welcome, he made my nephews birthday meal very special.

The food would be unimpressive in a school canteen - super dry chicken, frozen veg and oven chips. The building is also pretty shabby and needs some TLC. However, the staff were lovely and salvaged it from being a one star review.

We went on a very busy Sunday afternoon and was so pleasantly surprised with the service. All the staff were friendly accommodating to myself, my wife and our young daughter but I must give a special mention to Ash our waitress. I watched her deal with a packed restaurant and still bring so much energy and enthusiasm to every interaction she had with us and all the other patrons. She seemed genuinely happy to serve and this was under conditions that I would have forgiven anyone serving staff for cracking under. I take my hat off. She's a real professional 👏.
