Had a really lovely evening in the Brentwood Harvester The food atmosphere staff and service was all amazing I visit this restaurant for breakfast lunch and dinner on many occasions and this is the best one The staff all look happy and look like they enjoy pleasing us the customers Thank you Nicole

Love this place! I want to give a special shoutout to Aga for making our dining experience truly memorable. As always she is very attentiveness and friendly demeanour enhanced our meal and made us feel valued guests.

Last minute Sunday lunch decision - booked on the app. Wish we'd stayed indoors. We've been here maybe 8-9 times with varying degrees of quality & service but this one was an all-time low and our last visit. Unfriendly staff, to the point of rude. A pineapple ring on the gammon about 2 ins across: the salad was tired & inedible: no plates for the rolls - we buttered them on napkins. Haddock & chips - when I moved the fish off the chips a river of oil ran off it, over the chips & puddling on the plate! Mopped up with my napkin & had to remove the batter as it was sodden & glistening with oil. Service was very slow - half hour wait for the two meals - and the tables were only about quarter full when we ordered. Overall a huge disappointment & waste of money. Go somewhere else as this place is definitely not reliable. Hope they don't ruin too many people's Xmas meals.

Chips anemic twice. Rest of combo gets cold. Waitresss walks off when we say chips are rubbish. Lack of seasoning on which we asked for. We had all eaten our meal when we raised about standard of basic chips and as we had virtually finished, we didn’t want to wait for another meal to be cooked. I made the mistake of giving my son a few pineapple chunks and a slither of cucumber and they charged for a whole bowl £7. Even though the meal was taken off it was the principle of the fact of basic cooking and waitress service was awful apart from the waitress who has been there for years. Harvester isn’t a cheap meal. However when we questioned the whole salad bowl ( not his meal with chips), the manager was in my partners face like a school boy saying about his meal, even though we were not easing this issue. We have been coming here for 20 years to brentwood and NEVER again. Managers are supposed to diffuse but escalate any concerns. After 20 years we will save our pennies and cook chips at home( not anaemia and seasoning on if we choose.

Disappointing warm Latte - I asked to be reheated dangerously hot!! Bacon rolls - the bun was very dry very cold - again asked for a warm roll - replacement just as dry and as cold - does not really deserve any stars- have had better food and service previously - but not today

Went to the Brentwood harvester for dinner on a Saturday evening. The service was amazing from a warm greeting from manager Austin, taken to the table where are server Sue was excellent being very friendly polite and very attentive The food was lovely, hot and delicious, didn’t have to wait long either. The staff, service and food was excellent, no complaints from me.

Great staff terrible food my wife had chicken and ribs I had sirloin steak medium rare which was cooked ok but tasteless and quite tough spoke with the waitress who admitted that several customers had complained about the steak. We asked what the outcomes was and received no reply, we certainly will not be returning.

6 of us came here last Saturday for lunch. The waiting staff were super friendly and funny, especially Tracy G! The kitchen staff were inundated with orders, but staff apologised and kept us informed throughout. The Salad Bar was well stocked, looked and tasted fresh and kept us going until our lunch arrived. There is plenty on the menu to suit all tastes, including vegetarians. If you have a Blue Light card, you can get a great discount here.

Popped in for lunch on way home from the crem, was told it was busy so didn't know how long we would have to wait for a table, so decided to eat in the bar both ordered flatbreads waited quite a while for meal could explain why flatbreads were crispy, hense to say they won't be getting my custom again too soon

We ended up booking here, last minute and pleased we did. Visit was on the 29th January for breakfast. The staff working was very polite and friendly, the food was hot and cooked perfectly. We certainly would visit again.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 young children decided to eat here today. We hadn't booked but it was less than half full and quite early when we got there. The waiter who should have made us feel welcome, was very negative and not keen to invite us in without a booking. We were about to leave when he suggested a table for us, but still not in a the way we would expect. Happily our waiter Sam was very obliging and good with the kids. He fully engaged with us and made it a nice experience. The food was good and the children loved building their ice creams. Top marks to Sam

I Have been here a few times with family / friends and this is by far the best Harvester around. The staff are so attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Aga and Tracey served me my baby and parents today and we were very happy with the service they provided. The salad cart is always full and replenished unlike some other harvester restaurants. Food was hot and plentiful could not complain for the price. I Will always drive out of my way to visit this restaurant in particular. Thanks :-)

I’d rate 0 if I could. No wonder it has a two and a half star rating! The attitude of the staff stinks and as for the waitress who served us well!!! Seemed off thier rocker and then made a scene shouting because we asked a question! Then she got the manager over and she was equally rude gave a snarky comment that she didn’t care and have lost the will to live and they both disappeared and wouldn’t come back so someone else had to finish serving us, just to be clear we asked a simple question about wanting a child’s desert because I can never eat a large desert which we always do and she told us no you can’t and made the biggest scene as did the manager. It’s a bloody desert when I’ve paid for an adult meal and drinks why does it matter I do it every time I go harvester. I’ve never felt so embarrassed by staff in my life. I have been going to this Harvester for years, it's easily the best in the area, especially when comparing it to Gidea Park (which I will never step in again after numerous bad trips)I went with a friend and family, served quick, waitresses were incredibly helpful and the food was great!

This evening we visited the Harvester for a family meal to celebrate a birthday. Our waitress was very friendly and provided a good service. Unfortunately one of our meals was returned due to the roast chicken being cold and not cooked thoroughly.

Went on Wednesday 31st July for our wedding anniversary. Already booked on line so when arrived got seated straight away. Food was good and so was the service, haven’t been there for a while so saw a lot of changes all good.

Sophie was a bubbly friendly waitress who made me and my boyfriend laugh and we enjoyed our mains. Jackie then took over and she was so accommodating when I requested a baileys hot chocolate, she was so lovely about making it and it came with whipped cream.

Defrosted prawns in a very salty sauce with salty garlic bread. Not good. Sage & onion chips not good had to scrape it off. Corn on cob was full of water and stone cold. First time in this one won’t be back.

After a long day at training we thought we would go and have a meal what a huge disappointment , we walked in & there staff didn’t even acknowledge us I had to ask if we can have a table ,we got taken to our table & left didn’t even ask if we wanted a drink,we then had to get up & ask to have our order taken after 20 mins then took another 40 mins or more to even get food, we then had to wait for someone to come back to take our Desert order but no one came back so buy then we just got up & walked out as was so angry, we will never be going in there again need shutting down

The GM at this place is absolutely amazing, helping where she could to set our table and gave a very lovely vibe when greeting us at Harvester, very exited for our family dinner later this evening!

Had dinner with family on a recent visit to Brentwood and it was up to the normal standard for Harvester. Only negative was that we were seated next to a radiator on full that couldn't be turned down and was too hot!

Booked a table via the harvesters website but on arrival they said they couldn't take the booking as they were fully booked and can override website bookings. Very unhelpful

Came here for a family meal for a birthday, service was extremely slow and at most times non existent. We waited almost 50 minutes for starters and the a further hour for mains, the food was horrible and the cleanliness was appalling. The staff just seemed lazy as my partner mentioned rib bones under our table and their response was oh the cleaner will get that.

worst lunch ever , chicken was pink , sent it back had to wait half and hour for a new one then half way through a jacket potato there was a sticker label what looked like a best before label . Waitress was not interested got the manager instead who took it off bill . Totally put us off won’t be going back !

We arrived at the restaurant on Thursday 21/2 and waited by the counter to be greeted but after a good 10 minute wait I gestured to the waitress who said "be with you in a minute" but again nobody came so I saw the girl who was serving at the drinks bar and said how much longer have I got to wait she then reluctantly grabbed a few menus and said wait here somebody with you in a not too pleasant manner and showed us to a grubby table. We then realised she hadn't given us a childs menu. So we sat there waiting to be served and it was like we never existed as people were coming in after us and taken to their table etc. I then got up and spoke to who I think was the manager and told her but she didn't seem to be that bothered. The meal wasn't that great either (we have had better in there) and the salad bar needed topping up but then to top it all up we asked for the bill and were given somebody elses bill!!. Needless to say no tip from us and wont be going again in a hurry.

Went for Friday lunch during half term. Three adults and two children. Adults had the weekday lunchtime menu, 2 courses for £8.99, good portions, nice food, good value for money. There are three kids menu’s, we ordered one meal from the middle menu and one from the more expensive of the three. The first meal was effectively chicken Goujons (menu calls it something else), mash and beans. The chicken and mash were heavily over cooked. The more expensive kids meal was about £7.49, which was salmon chips and beans. They are chunky chips, but he had about 6 chips on his plate, which is just a bit mean IMO. Desserts and salad cart were all fine. My wife told me there was thick black mould in the ladies toilets around the hand dryer, which could have been wiped off by a cleaner, so does make you wonder what else they missed .

Waited 2 hours for 'lunchtime' burger and chips, got served about 3pm. Burger was burnt but so cold that the soft cheese on top didn't melt- in a stale bun, a smear of red onion chutney and a very small amount of lettice and a slice of tomato. The chips were soggy and cold because they had sat under the heat light thing for at least half and hour. I was told that the wait was because burgers and gammon, that my husband had ordered, 'had to be cooked fresh unlike most things on the menu'. My husband and I appear to have been victims of a game between kitchen staff and the man that appeared to be head of front of house. They knew we did not have our food and continually ignored it. They kept looking at us but not serving our food, even when part of it was slowly going cold under the lights. Tables emptied and refilled and empitied again around us. When our food eventually arrived he was aggressive and rude, shouting we'd only waited 30 mintues. All in all a horrible experience which was not what my husband had intended when he 'treated' me to a surprise lunch. The only thing of value was the cold drink refil, I had 6 of them as i waited. Seriously doubt the 5 star hygiene rating!

We took our granddaughter here as in the past the kids menu has been good. She is only 4,but wanted a burger so she had to pick from the over 7’s menu £4.99 I said to the waitress that she doesn’t want the lettuce,tomato and burger sauce and requested a slice of cheese instead,that was an extra 49p,the fruit shoot was £2.10,and the ice cream was £1.69. All in all her meal cost £8.68!!! What ever happened to everything being included in the price. My husband and I ordered steaks,and asked to swap chips for sweet potato fries, that cost an extra £1.49 ea. This used to be a reasonable family restaurant,not any more. Our meal came to £57!!!no extras just 3 meals,2 refills. Outrageous,how families can afford to go there I don’t no. We won’t be going back.

It is what it is, I have found most Harvesters are good with a good variety of different dishes. They are always good on value, with good service and very friendly staff.

On way back from dentist decided to call in The Golden Gleece now a Harvester. Arrived 3.30pm decided to have starter and main course, plus a nice bowl of their mixed salad. Had crackerjack prawns for starters and triple chicken for mains. Must admit it was really nice, chicken was very tender and cooked perfectly. Plus we found out because we arrived between 2-4pm we got 30% of our main courses. A very good idea as not very packed at all.

Find it unbelievable that to visit Harvester in Brentwood with family of 6 & get a £50 fine when dining with family. No one in restaurant to let you know to go back to the bar to put registration in. Such a Shame as the food and service was great. Won’t be going there again.

I have been to harvester several times before but this is the first time I received a parking ticket of £85 for parking in the customer car park .My bill at the restaurant was cheaper than the ticket for my brother myself and partner .Really bad customer experience.Someone in the restaurant could atleast notify that I needed to pay and park .Really poor service

We went here for a family meal and was so disappointed. We had to wait 30 minutes for a table even though there was so many tables empty. We was told another 30 minute wait for food which was not so bad as we always have salad bar as a starter.

The staff here put on a and the excellent welcome and a buffet spread for our Brain Tumour Charity walk thee pub has a very good atmospher and the staff are very helpful

5th visit this year. Always satisfied with service and value for money. Well cooked food. Salad bar well stocked. Only moan was the drink as I ordered a Guinness and it tasted bitter. Ordered another and the replacement not much better. Perhaps they needed to clean there pipes more often.

the outside of this building looked smart. however, the inside looked scruffy and tired. the staff were good, incudeing the man who dashed over to pick my bag up when i dropped it. we did not eat here, but the food we see looked nice.

On our way home from a Hovercraft Experience for my husband and son we decided to eat out. We chose The Harvester in Brentwood. Went in got seated fairly quickly, ordered our food and drink, my husband & I both had chicken, jacket potato & veg and our son had gammon. When the waiter turned up with the meal and placed them in front if us, I was totally discussed, the chicken was slightly burned on the edges, the veg (butternut squash) was slightly hard but the jacket potato was black on the outside and hardly any potato on the inside. I showed the waiter my jacket potato and he said he would get another one. Next waitress Michelle turned up and was very apologetic, she said they had no more jacket potatoes and could she offered us fries, mash potato or extra veg, my husband had the fries and I had the veg. When Michelle came to clear our plates I said I have had better meals, she was very nice. She asked if we wanted any desserts complimentary as we had a bad meal, so we did. When we asked for the bill they also gave us 20% off our bill. We paid with a voucher that my uncle and aunty had given us for our 25th Silver Wedding Anniversary. I was hoping to tell them that we went and had a lovely meal with their voucher but I can't tell them that. The only good thing was the waitress Michelle, who was really nice and understanding and helped us the best she could. We won't be going back to the Harvester in Brentwood.

Came today with my husband and three children for a late lunch. Ordered our food and visited the salad bar which was fully stocked. For the mains we had a steak, ribs, burger and 2 kids meals which came promptly and were hot. Food was lovely and our waitress, Tracey G (not to be confused with Honey G) was attentive and very friendly. There was an unfortunate incident with my eldest and she became unwell at the table, nothing to do with the food, which could have been absolutely mortifying however the staff dealt with it incredibly discreetly, professionally and treated my daughter with care and consideration. They didn’t make us feel awkward or embarrassed in any way, so thank you so much for that, it was hugely appreciated.

On arrival had to wait at the bar to be acknowledged & served with a drink, staff available but too busy with each other, the bar was not busy,had to ask for a menu , told table would be available in 20/30 minutes , at this point there was only 6 people in the bar ,area , called to table in 12/15 minutes ,then waited another 15 minutes sitting in a dingy area for a table for 2.Waited another at least another 15 minutes for order to be taken ,but it was busy, salad area shrouded with flies, so we declined. when our meal was eventually served it was a sorry site flat mushroom & onion rings stacked on salad, chips oily , jacket potato very soggy pineapple burnt & blackened, gammon burnt around edges,gammon excessively salt .We started to eat after I had taken the pineapple back to the grill chef personally , Nobody food checked us , the manager (Craig I believe) was aware the pineapple being returned but chose to ignore the matter, we did eat some but decided it was of too poorer quality.We then waited again, eventually the waitress come to clear our table,she said oh! was that not good , i forgot to food check you earlier, i will speak to the manager, on her return we were offered 20% discount , i said you must be joking, the manager then came to our table, having passed it several times , we were not aware you was even the manager, we found his manner sadly lacking , we do not appreciate being spoken down to, we been in the hospitality business many years (now retired ) his final comment was only pay for one meal & walked off much to the waitress & our surprise. She returned with the bill for one meal, she was very embarrassed , my wife said to me please just pay it & let's leave ,never to return.Your manager has a lot to learn about people & managing a prestigious brand name

Visited here last wednesday for my mum's birthday. We were seated very quickly which was great as some harvesters it takes them a while to seat you. The staff were very friendly our drinks order was taken first then our food order. The food arrived to our table in a good amount. I really like the salad cart as its help your self as much as you like. Had a desert after our meal to. Enjoyed our visit here. Will come again in the future.

The food is rubbish cold. The toilet were dirty when my friend went in. Chips tastes recooked and the oil was old greasy... Not even cooked. Tasted uncooked.. yuk yuk.

The Harvester is definitely one of my favourite restaurants and this one was no exception. As always you get seated quickly by very pleasant staff, your drink is the first to arrive followed by the meal order. You then go and help yourself to the salad cart (my favourite bit) it has a mixture of all sorts on there and you can also have a bread roll with it. The main meal is always hot and plentiful - sadly too plentiful to have a pudding! Always a great value for money treat.

Stayed at the travel lodge . outside the Harvester ..called on sunday 5.45 pm for tea .what a joke ..no bitter, sold out .delivery nxt wednesday..ok ?

Never again. Bank holiday Monday decided to stop off for lunch,wasn't very busy when we arrived. Lady took our order then people started to come in. Next minute food started to pile up on the serving hatch instead of taking food out that was sitting there and ours was amongst them staff just took drink orders from people and left the food sitting there. Chips were like they were yesterday's when our meal finally arrived awful. Felt like non of the staff really cared or wanted to be there

We visited this Harvester as a family. We had to rush through the salad and dinner because we were all under the clock due to the parking. We ended up leaving minutes yes minutes after our time and what you know got a nice fine.

Good selection, best mushroom starter i have ever had, combo for main course was just the right size and a complimentary salad bar was nice.

Watch out for the parking fees. We had a party of 8 for a 73th birthday and ran late and got a parking fine. Also the food is not the best in the world. I had the burger thinking could not go wrong it was something like you get at the local chip shop frozen and didn't even taste like a burger. I make better one's at home with fresh meet. My partner had a wrap and left half of it and just go,s on. Ive used harvester alot but will never be returning. very disappointed. No reply from customer service just get better and better

I visited here recently with my friend we hadn't booked and the restaurant was very busy so there was a waiting time. We explained to Lee the manager that my friend was diabetic and needed to eat as soon as possible. He said he had a table but it was a bit restricted but he showed us to the table and it was fine for us. We got quick service and had a throughly enjoyable meal at a reasonable price. Arrived to find you have to pay to park in the car park,you can claim back £1 back of a £2 parking charge, minimum stay 3 hours if you go over ,then you get a ticket through the post which is completely ridiculous,friendly place, meals cooked to perfection ,very helpful staff ,toilets ok, but noticed broken seats, and some needed a clean,and there was a lack of toilet tissue,busy,nice ambience,fresh salad, enjoyed meals

We went for Sunday breakfast and for the price it is very good. You pay under £9 for the full buffet including tea and coffee. I like that the hot items are cooked to order, therefore they are fresh and hot. The cold buffet is nothing great, very basic, but still worth if you like to have some muffins and fruit. Unfortunately no pastries are offered, which should be part of continental, but overall good value for money. Contrary to other reviews we found the restaurant very clean and service quick and friendly.

Two waitresses on duty and kids offer of kids go free was on? Naturally they were rushed off their feet. Paid car park fee (which is outrageous as there are so many lovely restaurants in Brentwood without parking fees) but service was very slow and we overstayed the two hours allowed.

This restaurant, where should I start, upon arriving you have to pay to park the car, why I have no idea it isn't near a station or anywhere I think people might use it to park for nothing so my only conclusion is so that they can make more money out of you. I wasn't informed if the parking fee was refunded from the overall bill but I didn't actually notice the parking metres until I came out from my amazing dining experience. I was meeting friends and we all got out of our cars and walked into the pub I had no reason to even have the slightest thought that you would need to pay to park the car WHY DO YOU NEED TO PAY TO PARK YOUR CAR IN THIS PUB ???? I am probably going to get a ticket I paid when leaving so this has made the experience even better. Upon arriving we were handed the most disgusting filthy menues completely dripping with a milky white liquid not just one but all three of them, the chairs were sticky to touch as was the table the cutlery had food stuck to it from previous diners a sign the dish washer has been overloaded the food was disgusting, jacket potatoe wasn't cooked it was hard in the middle butter would melt in the middle. Chicken was like leather and tasted weird frozen veg watery and was stone cold. The salad wasn't too bad although some of it tasted musky. Honestly, the service wasn't that good either kitchen staff walked through looked like they needed waking up overall experience a discusting dirty place lacked any kind of care food was discusting and prob got a parking ticket

We go here quite often. The meals are very good prices. The employees are very pleasant and will help you with anything

An enjoyable restaurant friendly staff food was cooked well to my specifications everybody said their meals were enjoyable and tasty reasonably priced as well

We have been coming to this restaurant for years but will not be going back again. We booked a table for 8pm, arrived 10 minutes early, and were shown to our table late. The service was unbelievably slow and it took over 2 hours to get 4 mains and 2 desserts for our small party (2 adults and 2 children. Why is this important? Well as the car park is now run for profit you run the risk of being fined. As we were 20 minutes over I have received a demand for £85 which probably puts the prices on par with eating at the Ritz. Yes, you have the option of choosing to pay for 2 or 3 hours in advance but we were not informed that the service was running slow and who would really expect it to take so long for such a small order for a small table? Complete rip off and a "computer says no" response from the restaurant when challenged. Take my advice and go somewhere else there are plenty of good restaurants in Brentwood where you can park for free.

There were five adults altogether and all pensioners. It was raining very heavily and we arrived in two cars, with disabled badges. Had to go to parking machine and key in our registration number, which I couldn't remember, so had to go back to the car to find out. Returned and paid £1 for two hours? And so did my friend in her car. We didn't realise we had to put ticket in car as we entered our reg number already.Waitress said it was ok and took tickets to give us refunds. Friend has received a parking fine of £85 but I have yet to receive one?The food is not that good now. Chips looked like they were yesterday's reheated and unable to cut with knife. I had half rack ribs and had to pay extra 49p for a jacket and dip?

Haven't been to a harvester for over 10 years but 'popped' into the Brentwood one on the way back from the country park. No tables indoors so sat outside, as we were told we could move inside as soon as a table became available but still had to ask for a table even though the place soon emptied. Took 30 minutes to just order the food. Seemed to take an age to order 3 separate lots of food for our table. The girl wasn't sure how to use the new system and then she sort of forgot to take my order when she started emptying the dishwasher and serving other people drinks. Using our kids eat for a pound voucher was a trial and we were told to come back and order our desserts later. I honestly think I grew a beard whilst waiting. We eventually sat down, food was ok and kids enjoyed themselves. Then we asked what desserts were included in the deal, we had 3 different answers which included 'everything', 'look on your voucher' and 'nothing'. Then ordering desserts was interesting and we finally finished our food an hour and three quarters after getting there. Not good when you have 6 hungry kids with you. Won't be returning...

Surprised to see so many negative comments about this Harvester!My partner and I (+ his children sometimes) visit this Harvester for breakfast fairly often. Every time we have visited, we have been seated straight away. Service is excellent and the best part is the food and the value! Unlimited continental with any breakfast dish, meaning you leave feeling absolutely stuffed for £5 approx!The kids unlimited continental menu is under £2 and remarkable value.Would highly recommend.

Me and my friend popped in during the week after work. We decided as the starters sounded so good we would have lots of starters to share instead of a main meal. We got around 8 starters and 2 sides to share but we was told we was not allowed the privilege of the salad bar which we thought strange as the cost was the same as if we had got two main meals ? The starters were lovely though and I would do this again although it would be nice to be able to enjoy the salad bar as you are still a paying customer.Paying for parking seems silly as they are nowhere near the high street or the station.

Really not a lover of this place The only things they get right are the drinks and the salad bar Beetroot and hullimi burger was vile The parking is now chargeable, you get £1 back taken off the bill with receipt. What a cheek ! Their excuse: Ford's over thevriad use to use it !! I won't give this place another chance

There was a time (a loooooong long time ago) when this place was a pleasure to visit. The service was good and very pleasant. The steaks were as good as you could get anywhere. When my Danish friends came to visit, that's where we went just for the meat. Now the food is, to say the least, below average. Indifferent staff and a VERY rude manager (although he tried to be nice when I told him of this review as I went out the door!!). If you like indifferent service, indifferent food, rude managers and a lot of noisy children, then that's the place for you. There are two other restaurant/pubs close by that are so much better. Never again.
