Great meal with my friends, very friendly staff especially Charlie who helped us get a table when availability was full. Dinner was lovely I had the steak pie and it was unbelievable. All the girls behind the bar are diamonds.

The roast beef was very nice, good portion size and cooked well. Our waiter Alex was very friendly and helpful. Good range of drinks and coffees, even had decaf cappuccino and oat milk latte which you don't often find in a pub. Thank you

A lovely and welcoming pub. The lunch menu was fabulous and the chicken and mozzarella sandwich was delicious! Charlie was very welcoming and friendly, and answered all of our questions when we arrived.

We come to the George & Dragon 2 to 3 times a week for evening drinks. Special mention to the member of staff Charlie - he is always so helpful and very kind. He goes to the limit for customers and nothing is too much trouble for him. Big thank you to Charlie for always making the evening an enjoyable one.

Had lunch on Saturday, on the off chance.. good food, good service.. medium price range..Interesting menu loved the starters .. recommend the mushrooms and the crab.. Had the apple tart for dessert.. excellent flavour and texture Well worth a visit, good friendly atmosphere

Amazing venue! Lilly was fantastic with us today. Lizzy is great host too! Food was perfect and we could have not fault one thing.

We visited last night for dinner with friends. The waitress that we had was absolutely first class but the food was mediocre. At the end of the meal they had already turned the coffee machine off before asking us whether we would like coffe. That is an absolute disgrace when there are still customers eating. One of our party requested a brandy and it was served in a tumbler. When he complained he was told there were no brandy glasses. How can a pub have no brandy glasses. Such a huge mistake. Will think twice before returning and have been going to this pub for several years. Sometimes it’s the attention to detail which makes all the difference. We felt as though we were being hurried at the end of the meal and it was only just gone 10pm.

I aim to have most of my business lunches at the George &Dragon, when my meetings are in Essex, as I really like the ambiance, the food and the staff there. Today we were looked after by Jacob who was very polite and ensured we had a great time. Thank you and we’ll be back again soon 😉 P.S. probably should opt for a loyalty member points card 🤭

We visit the George and Dragon regularly and the service and staff are always very good. Charlie is an excellent member of the team and provides great service, is always friendly and takes the time to say hello and have a quick chat. Lizzie also stands out as being very welcoming and friendly whenever we visit. I love it Great place for an end of day drinks.

Came for a drink with my husband and we were served by Charlie and George. Both were ever welcoming and likeable, highly recommend! Will be returning very soon.

As the weather was so nice we popped into the pub with our rather large dog for a drink. The atmosphere was buzzing, the whole team were working hard keeping everyone happy. Could have stayed all evening!

Went for lunch with some girls friends What a lovely experience we had. Very disappointing fish and chips. Fish had no taste and chips were small pieces overcooked in oil. This is the second time I have tried this restaurant and whilst the furnishings are lovely the food was on both occasions a big disappointment. Sorry but never again.

First class Châteaubriand for two from the specials board. Perfect in every way. Can’t fault the food or venue but came here to compliment Tris who made our visit an absolute pleasure. Exemplary service from an excellent gentleman who is a real asset to the Geroge and Dragon. All in all first class.

Fantastic service and friendly, we had to postpone our Valentines dinner, thankfully they had Scallops on the main menu, which I had and it was perfect, cooked really well and my partner had the squid which was also cooked to perfection. Main course I had the crispy duck salad, which was lovely but huge and my other half had the linguine which he really enjoyed to. It was also nice to have a mocktail and more places should take note and serve more adult soft drinks. Special shout out to Mark who served us and was full of fun and very attentive. Ridiculous prices (£12.50 for glass of wine) rude bar staff. When my wife sent back a gin and tonic due to the tonic being flat the barman gave her an argument. I'm at a loss to understand the popularity of this place. It's certainly not the customer service.
