I love a good greasy spoon cafe. When my last one closed I did some research to find a new one. I came across The Breakfast Room in Billericay. What a find⦠The tables are clean, as is the floor. The service comes with smiles. The food comes piping hot. The coffee is good and the facilities have always been clean when Iāve used them. Their prices are completely reasonable. Iāve found my new Greasy Spoon home.

I held my brothers wake here and I can't thank the Gun enough. Despite having to change rooms several times because of increasing numbers they were very accommodating. Despite our large number, around 150, the buffet food was ready when we arrived, was of good quality and sufficient amount. We had the newly built Lavender Suite and the adjoining room next to it, which gave us 2 bars. There is also a small outside court area. Our guests came from all over, so had to be accomodated in local hotels. The Gun are building a hotel on the back of the pub, which should be ready by the end of the summer.

Excellent variety of food , delicious cakes and good coffee. Well decorated cafe, clean and efficient service. After having visited a couple of times during a stay with my family who reside in Billericay. - I feel I have to agree with the TripAdvisor comment made way back in March of this year - some members of staff are abrupt - not to us personally but to one or two of the other customers. One subject was confusion over being able to make a booking..... I feel perhaps the āteamā need to jell more and work with the same set of rules. Otherwise I loved it!

Apparently 27 years old is too old to get in according to the security š who where pretty rude when a group of us turned up. Aged 21 - 40 odd. A family infront of us similar ages where also turned away. Now it did look like a school disco as we walked away so Iām glad we didnāt go BUT that does NOT excuse rude behaviour or attitude or telling people in their 20s they are too old to get in on a Saturday night. Good luck with the venue but yet again more lost customers here š

Brilliant for a small group Breakfast meet up. Relaxing and nice calm atmosphere, especially after the school drop-offs. Casual time to unwind and chatter. A nid-morning meet-up with food and coffee/tea. Breakfast plates were tasty and nothing to fault here. Staff were welcoming and polite.

Another fantastic meal at the Dukes Head. The food was delicious, we took advantage of the specials and had the lemon sole and lamb shank both cooked beautifully. Our server Shannon was excellent and very attentive making sure our meal was good and keeping us topped up with beverages. Added bonus that there was a singer Carol Harper singing who kept us well entertained throughout our meal and was brilliant. Can't wait to visit again.

Absolutely gutted this has shut for good! Been drinking here on and off for 17 years. Staff come and go with new ideas and new rules but at the end of the day the regulars make it good along with a mixture of your desirables next door, some with whom I've enjoyed a few drinks with and some the current staff kept in check!! Will miss the bike nights and all the car meets!!! Such a shame the legendary Harrow pub, we all now know as the Dick Turpin, has come to an end! Yet another great British pub moving on for cash reasons. I'm really disappointed with Greene King. It's sad to drive past now to see it boarded up with concrete blocks on the perimeter, making it look like a prison! I hope this is a painless transition....thanks to all the accommodating staff that are now looking for work. š

First time attending the Darby Digger, went for the Carvery which was amazing value for money, with generous portions and well cooked food, I will definitely be returning. "Ginger Chef" was friendly and accomodating and the venue was cosy and a lovely atmosphere. š

Staff are really friendly and always make our daughter smile. The food is decent for a pub and itās clean and well looked after. I would recommend it to anyone, families and groups of friends. Unfortunately the food has let itself down. Paid Ā£2.60 for 11 chips. They were not great either. Also Ā£9 for a pint of Stella and a coke. I know itās tough for pubs but thatās a joke.

Waitress was nice , needs a refit in some places .
