Miller & Carter Steakhouse in Basildon

I never get how a steak place can get cooking steak wrong! Ordered the ultimate sharing platter with the cote de beouf. Medium as it should be. Food was delivered well done. Waiter understood and agreed and took it back only for the manager to come over to tell me that only the middle will be medium.., and then when we cut the middle it was well done!! I have eaten steak in loads of places and can tell you that was incorrect To be fair to the manager, the embarrassment that caused her coming to cut the middle and proved wrong she removed all the food and drink cost We did then order the normal rib eye which was cooked to absolute perfection The waiter was amazing and the atmosphere was 5 star So it all ended well.

Keith and Tarina are both friendly and attentive. Over the span of around 14 years this is the 3rd restaurant we have experienced and recognized them for their impeccable standards of serving abilities. 5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 #greatservice #friendlystaff #deliciousfood

We had Keith as our steal expert at Langdon hills, he was absolutely fantastic, very knowledgable, explained everything to me with no judgment and was super efficient. Brilliant service.

Keith was very good and we come in with out nephew who needed a quiet area and they were very accomadating and be was very good with him, the food was amazing shout out to the chefs. This is the best miller and carter 💙

Steak was nice, cooked the way I wanted it. Service was excellent and at long last they now have a cheese board option instead of sweet stuff.

Ordered the butchers board between 2 good if your unsure of what steak you prefer. More than enough food for 2. Tracey was our waitress couldn't ask for better service.

Keith our waiter was so attentive, very friendly, we all commented on what a good waiter he was.

We had a very enjoyable meal at the Langdon Hills Miller & Carter but it didn't start well as no-one was at the front desk to greet us or ask about our booking. After a nearly 5 minute wait we were finally shown to our table where we were served by Emma who was very welcoming and friendly, helpful with our choice of steaks and drinks, and definitely made up for the initial delay. Emma was very attentive and aware of when we required additional drinks, as well as checking up if we required anything else during our meal. The food was great as always at Miller & Carter, the onion loaf and beef dripping sauce are amazing!!

Booked for a family birthday on a Friday night. A warm welcome was followed by some excellent food and great service from Grace. No complaints at all, great steak for me and ribs and lamb rump for the others. Will definitely return soon.

'Kings Head' Keith is a gentleman. Very attentive, clearly overworked but maintains a very professional and friendly attitude. He is probably 25% of the reason we will continue to return.

Came for a meal with my other half this evening and was served by Romy who was absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Outstanding service, friendly, polite and dealt with our requests promptly.

Had the most wonderful evening shared with my husband at Miller and Carter Laindon. We were seated and severed by Chrissie and were truly spoilt! I wanted a cocktail but couldn’t choose so she whipped up the delicious coconut and raspberry punch which blew my mind. Then the food was stunning- juicy steak, perfectly cooked with perfectly paired sides. A night to remember!

Keith went above and beyond to make our meal the best! Very happy and will be returning soon for this reason!

My family and I visited Miller & Carter at Langdon Hills on the 9th of October at lunchtime of which I have visited on many occasions previously and always had excellent service. On this particular occasion however, there were four of us at the table who ordered from the lunch time menu. Unfortunately, one of the meals contained a steak which had gristle and fat running through the middle which amounted to around 40% of the total steak which made it inedible. After the rest of us had nearly finished our meals, the waitress came over and we explained the situation with the steak. We were offered a new steak as a replacement however we declined this offer as everyone else had finished and the family member did not want to eat on their own. At this point the Duty Manager came over to the table and explained that Miller & Carter cannot guarantee that a steak will not always have gristle and fat running through it. The Duty Manager then offered a free dessert for the family member who declined as they do not normally have desserts. The Duty Manager then explained that there is nothing else that they are able to do and that we are still required to pay for the full price of the meal. The family member then asked why she would pay for a meal that was inedible with the Duty Manager replying that we would still be liable for the full cost of the meal. After a further discussion, the Duty Manager agreed that we would not be required to pay for the steak, and this was taken off the bill. Although I was happy with the final outcome of this case I did not appreciate the service that we experienced on this visit.

Wow, what can I say! The food and service was unbelievable, I had the kindest staff looking after me, and managed to get the names of all our servers, Kate and chrissie looked after us, they were amazing and made us feel so welcome and amazing and I can’t thank them enough. The managers James and Antony saw us to our table and his smile was infectious. The food was enough but the service just gave it that 5* quality!

Shelley was an absolute star waitress. Attentive but left us alone for the perfect mix. Perfect place to have birthday drinks and food with friends and family
