The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

The food and drink were very tasty, but I'd like to praise the staff. We went on a Saturday morning, and there were four young girls working. They were all so friendly, whilst being good at their work, and very efficient. They made the place a really happy place. Well done girls!

The staff were so friendly and helpful. George went out of his way to make our stay a great experience. Our breakfasts were amazing. Can’t wait to return in June.

Food was hot… a big plus for me. Need more table staff and staff do need to keep an eye on the desserts as they were often all gone

Encontramos que el área de la cafetería necesita una buena limpieza, imposible de encontrar una mesa que había sido despejada, los clientes limpiando las mesas ellos mismos poniendo montañas de ollas en otras mesas. Cuando el personal finalmente despejó las mesas, el solo tuvo una limpieza muy rápida. Las sillas están muy manchadas.

We have been coming here for over 30 years on our way on holidays from Norfolk. We heard it is closing at the end of the year so we came in for one last breakfast. As usual, the staff were polite and friendly, the service was quick and the food hot and delicious. Excellent value -a good plate full for £7.50. I have no idea why there are so many negative reviews on here; I have NEVER had a bad experience. It’s closure is very sad and the end of an era.

The food was beautiful, but the lady that served us was a stuck up c***. Ruined the experience, I hope she faces the wrath of a million locusts

A bunch of incompetent baboons work here. I ordered my son a triple cheeseburger and asked for no gherkins or onions just cheese and ketchup on the burger. I got charged the full price for the burger, we checked our bag to make sure we had everything but unfortunately did not check in the actual packaging until we got on the motorway, my 7 year old was so upset and disappointed to see his triple cheeseburger had no actual burgers in it. What an absolute joke. I then had a hungry crying child until we could reach the next service station.

My god I stood in that queue for 20 mins while the person behind the counter made TWO coffees. There was a queue of people in front of me so I decided to leave as I only wanted to buy a couple of bottles of water after a run and it’d have taken me longer to get the drinks that it did to run the 10k around the reservoir. 😂

Yo quería un almuerzo bien, pero por desgracia no fue.

Stopped off for lunch after visiting ikea. Male member of staff emptied the rubbish bins then picked a plate up with our sandwich on it without even washing his hands in between. We said we had seen him handle the bins and he actually turned round and said 'it's OK because I only touched the plate,not the sandwich!!! Tables and floors are filthy, toilets also unclean...not starbucks usual standard.

Booked and paid in August for a baby shower in November. THREE days before the baby shower the owner contacted us to say he’d double booked us and although WE booked first he was honouring the other booking and could no longer accommodate us. AVOID.

Me reuní para almorzar aquí ayer, fue agradable, el encaje está lleno de carácter y cálido cuando entramos, se encendió el fuego, el whisby whe off parece estar en construcción, pero no se sintió como demasiado intrusivo en la búsqueda de café, solo tiene que salir más allá de las obras y en la tienda de ropa y más allá de la caja de la izquierda, pasamos el letrero dos veces jaja El almuerzo fue encantador, tuve el panini de atún y h bby tenía la sopa y el sarnie, pero encantador, lo único que puedo decir es que el pero de ensalada / guarnición en el lado estaba seco, tal vez un poco de amor por el verde y un poco de hidratación con un poco de aderezo en mi haría una diferencia Creo que la vista sobre el río es fabulosa y nos encanta sentarnos junto al agua en verano con nuestros nietos.

Llevé a mi hijo por un día en el castillo en las vacaciones escolares. Como regalo, fuimos a la cafetería por té y pastel. Cuando se trataba de pagar en la caja con una bandeja de comida y bebida, la máquina de tarjetas se jugó y tardó mucho en pagar. Siendo un niño pequeño, mi hijo no es bueno esperando. Pero se comporta muy bien. Es solo que puedo decir que prefieren no estar esperando. Así que mientras el personal jugueteaba sin cesar con la máquina, me volví hacia mi hijo y le dije: “ve y siéntate bebé”. ; El personal me hizo repetirles lo que había dicho. Así que ahora tenía que decir, “ve y siéntate bebé” al personal. Fue horrible.

Pre booked tables were being used, service dreadful, coffee tepid, cake arrived when we had all drunk our coffee, restaurant manager unfriendly and dismissive, tables not been wiped, crumbs under the chairs.Decor lovely and expensive but ‘fur coat and no knickers’ - need to get the essentials right pdq!!One positive - young waiter Tom was a star.

Having been disappointed over the last year I persuaded my mum to join me for their new over 60's meal deal Which I had heard of on social media. With trepidation we thought let's give it another try. Wow. We were both impressed with cleanliness and friendliness of the staff. It's a totally different experience and would recommend people try it again. Food was lovely as well
