DON'T BOTHER! Sausage roll was the worst I've ever tasted. No flavour whatsoever- even checked with an assistant it was supposed to be pork & herb. Told her it was inedible and should be thrown in the bin, which she promptly did. No offer of a refund or something in its place. Poor business.

Very disappointing, I don’t think it should be described as a cafe. It is more a takeaway but with tables if you want to sit in. Everything comes in paper cups, cardboard boxes or bags with wooden knives and forks etc. There was someone waiting to be served at the counter and one of the staff members was obviously due to finish her shift so just ignored the customer and went home. She should have at least acknowledged the customer and said her colleague wouldn’t be long or taken their order.

I called in for tea and cake, optimistic that I would get a pot and cup and saucer as there were only two people in the cafe other than me. Sadly I had tea in a paper cup and self serve wooden 'cutlery', which seemed expensive at £2.50 when other cafes would have offered crockery for this price. On the positive side, service was quick and everything was clean.

I've visited the cafe a few times as it's OK for a snack when in the Castle Grounds. I usually have tea and a snack. I've occasionally been served with a pot of tea with crockery. However, on the last few occasions even though eating in the cafe refreshments have been served with paper cups, plastic bags, paper plates and wooden cutlery. That's OK if we were having a takeaway but to have a teabag floating in a paper cup for the same price as a pot of tea when eating in isn't acceptable. I e-mailed the Castle and this is their policy: "At peak times, such as during school holidays, which this weekend was we do use disposable items in the Café so that we are able to speed up the service and our operation. Off-peak, when we're not as busy, we do offer crockery and cutlery to our customers." Given the status of the Castle as an international Tourist attraction I feel the cafe really lets it down. It should be staffed adequately to rptovide a consistent service throughout the year. Ironic that an inferior service is provided when they get the most tourists!

Although it is named as Langton's Café at Lincoln Castle, in fact anyone including non visitors are welcome to use the Café, which is situated on the ground floor of the Georgian jail - not as scary as it sounds. We enjoyed a mid morning brunch here at Langton's and teas and Hot chicalote (highly recommended), and savoury scones. Good staff, well organised, and tidy comfortable seating area.

First time my friends and I have been to a bottomless at Craft, least to say we were disappointed. We arrived and notified the staff that we were here for bottomless, seated but was not attended to for half an hour and the drinks took a further 20 minutes. In the whole time we were there, we were served 3 drinks each. We came to an end of our bottomless early due to this and notified the staff, which were lovely and apologetic but not worth the price.

Really enjoyed the food here (Sunday lunch menu). Very well presented and cooked. The service was good and very friendly toward the dog that was with us. It was a wet day when we went, which was a pity as we couldn't fully enjoy the attractive location on the Brayford Pool side. The price was maybe a smidgin above that of standard pub grub, but this experience was much better than standard fare and made the meal good value. We would go again and would recommend to others.

I think the pumps may need a clean, only ordered lemonade, but it tasted fusty. The food left a lot to be desired, I mean, it took a long time to come and when it did, the meat was seriously stringy, full of fat and gristle. I understand that you may try and keep the prices down, but at the sacrifice of quality...... maybe it's just since Greene King took over, or the current management, but I used to go in this place when I was in my teens and the standards were definitely a lot better

The Wig and Mitre is hands down the greatest pub in Lincoln, and it’s not hard to see why. Perched at the top of Steep Hill, it’s the perfect place to catch your breath after the climb, offering a welcoming retreat with a fantastic atmosphere. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the incredible manager, Martin. Always ready with a smile and eager to help, Martin ensures that every visit feels personal and memorable. His dedication to making everyone feel at home is what truly makes this pub a standout. Steeped in local history, the Wig and Mitre has a unique charm that you can feel the moment you step inside. The rich heritage of the pub adds to its warmth and character, making it a great spot to soak in some local culture while enjoying a pint. And let’s not forget about the food, simply outstanding! Whether you’re after a comforting meal or a light bite, the menu never disappoints, offering something for everyone. But at the end of the day, it’s the people that make the place. From Martin to the friendly regulars, the welcoming vibe and community spirit are what keep me coming back. If you’re ever in Lincoln, the Wig and Mitre is a must-visit, where history, great food, and exceptional people come together.
