Excellent from arriving to leaving. A friendly greeting upon arrival for lunch today & was even given a better table without asking to be moved! Food fantastic. Arrived in good time and was hot & fresh tasting. Service efficient, fast & friendly. Excellent value for money. Felt covid safe, well organised, spacious, airy & comfortable. Will be returning for sure.

The poacher is a super friendly, welcoming pub. The food is always amazing (though could do with some more bacon on the cowboy burger) and is always served quickly. All staff are super friendly and helpful. The pub itself is warm and welcoming and has a nice outdoor area including a play area for kids. The kebab was incredibly good and a good portion size. The Sunday lunch was a good size and the Yorkshire pudding was rather impressive. My dad and I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and it's always been the same friendly pub. I would definitely recommend.

Quiz night made it visit when we are in Lincoln nice each time we come

Went for lunch today ( Monday) with my wife and a very good friend of ours. We given a very warm welcome and very friendly service when ordering drinks and food. The service was very quick and helpful. The service for serving the food was very quick and the food was piping hot which is more than can be said for a lot of places. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Would definitely advise anybody to visit this place, we will definitely be returning soon

We have tried various marstons in the area and as far as Skegness ( we also had our Boxing Day lunch at Skegness) and Boston but the food at the Lincolnshire Poacher was by far the nicest (always have the Sunday roast) and also really hot. Looks like Boxing Day is already sorted for this year 😀😀

The food often takes a while to come out and is often not great. There are no opening or closing times which makes it confusing sometimes.

Awful service, i ordered a VEGAN burger and got a meat burger i was horrified, had to wait 40 minutes for food i thought that the staff didn’t meet my needs at all.

Just had another brilliant Sunday roast and a couple of pints. Certainly worth a visit.

Had a gorgeous meal here yet again, this is becoming one of my favourite places to eat. Staff are super friendly and the food is great value and very tasty. Party of 4 and everyone was more than happy. Already can’t wait to come back again

I really cannot understand some of the recent negative reviews , This place has vastly improved under the new management , brilliant staff and food , always willing to go the extra mile to sort any issue if you have any, local pub atmosphere, I work late shifts sometimes and as long as I’m in before the stated closing time never been refused service

DOG FRIENDLY! If I'm wanting a meal out with my dog then I go here, the staff are lovely and professional, they provide water bowls and dog treats for visitors and there's just nothing to complain about. Definitely worth a visit.

Been for a meal 5 times once with a party o 10. Food always very good and plenty of it. Service is good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Don't usually single people out but Max is an asset and deserves a special mention.

We had our dinner here and I must say that it has been very disappointing. I had a cheeseburger with and upgraded sweet potato fries. £2 to upgrade to sweet potatoes where on the menu it's only £1 difference between sweet potato and skin on fries. My burger was plain, had only a tiny bit of cheese and a very small amount of lettuce on. So it tasted just like bun and beef. Also the sweet potatoes where most of over fried small pieces so definitely not worth the money I couldn't send the food back because I'm pregnant and I was very hungry at the time also very busy and a long wait on food (which is understandable) so I had to eat what I received. For my daughter I asked for 2nd side to have veggie sticks ( cucumber and carrots) she received only cucumber. I've also asked for my 1.5 year old son to have plastic fork as he eats only with cutlery and they said that they don't have them and to use and adult fork. I mean why? We do go out to eat quite often and this is the only place I ever heard not to have appropriate kids cutlery. After this experience I will not return.

Have just been for a bird meal and arrived early, no problem the waitress said and sat us straight down. Ordered food and within 10 minutes it was at the table. Good quality and quite reasonable price. Staff were great. Will be going back soon.

Friendly staff , good food and service

Unless your going to the weekly quiz dont go on a wednesday night. Popped in for a meal on our wedding anniversary and was very lucky to get a table that was'nt reserved for quizzers. Also, no Guinness, not enough ordered apparently. I had gammon with 2 eggs, both eggs were rock hard.

Lunch was lovely, with us being disabled one of the waiters went above & beyond to help, he brought over the card machine.

Visited on a Sunday, and although the online reservation system lost our booking for 8, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and got us a table. Food was lovely pub food, good portions. Thank you Lincolnshire Poacher.

Some of the food was poor. I had the steak and ale pie. Contained no more than 2 meat chunks rest gravy . Pastry was undercooked. Soup was luke warm and half a bowl plus two slices of baguette for £4,5 very disappointing. Kids meals seemed ok. Curry semed ok. I had a party of 14 eating. I won't be returning. Update. after speaking to the manager, her apology and offer I have updated this review to reflect a satisfactory resolution.

Food was great, staff that were there were excellent and dealt well with a very busy pub. Management should have arranged for more staff to be on, we had to wait 50 minutes for our food and as a result decided not to have pudding in case the wait was similar. It was half term and this should have been planned for better. We would come back but at a potentially less busy time to ensure a better staff to customer ratio.

What a wonderful meal perfectly cooked Staff are amazing nothing is too much trouble Very clean and a lovely atmosphere.. A wonderful beer garden...lots of love and care has been taken xxx

We had been out all day and decided to pop in for dinner. I had the steak pie which was very nice, the wife had lasagne which she also enjoyed, my daughter decides to have the loaded fries and said they were banging. Overall a pleasant meal with a nice atmosphere and polite staff

The online table booking was easy, we were welcomed on arrival and shown to our table. A very good and varied selection of meals at affordable prices. Our order arrived quickly, good sized portions of food, very tasty and well presented. All the staff were friendly and efficient.

A truly wonderful experience with extremely welcoming and helpful staff. The food was outstanding and our steaks were cooked to perfection. One of use has a dairy allergy and the staff were exceedingly helpful in guiding my choice to ensure that I could eat without risk! 11/10 will definitely be coming again!

old man at bar staff (possibly manager) non stop harassing me and my friend about ID however i have it on me (2004) he served me 1 pint only however told me he wont accept anymore because my ID photo was taken 2years ago. What does he want me to do? update it every 2 weeks. what a weapon. He was also rude and unprofessional with my friend who is older then me cutting us off. We only went for a few drinks and to play pool.

It was busy and there was apparently an hour wait for food but it felt a lot faster. Service was good with qr code scanner on table. Drink was brought out fast and food was lovely and hot

Visited during quite time early evening. Good deals on 2 meals decent ales on tap. Plenty of parking.

Had an impromptu date night with the hubby tonight. He had the Ultimate Spicey Beef Burger which he gave a thumbs up 👍 and a half as it was very tasty. I had the 8oz Angus Sirloin Steak and opted to have the light version which comes with a very flavourful Quinoa salad and added a side of sweet potato fries and their beef dripping and merlot sauce. I'd asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I sent my compliments to the chefs who I later found out to be Gary, Dom and Ryan. Not sure which of them cooked my streak but it was extremely delicious and I would highly recommend the beef dripping sauce too. So rich and full of flavour and complimented the steak beautifully. We washed down our main meals with a pint on inches cider for the hubby and a large class of merlot for me..... I should add our server Khloe was polite and very professional. We of course had to finish our meals with pudding. Hubby had the salted caramel cookie brownie with ice cream and I had the jam sponge pudding with custard and they were also delicious. I've given 4* across the board as there's always room to improve. But overall an excellent evening 😊 No pictures to add it was just to tasty to stop eating lol....

Long wait for food. When it arrived it was cold. Salad garnish was old and limp. Cheese on plate of vegan order. Disappointing as wanted this to be nice as we are locals. Do not recommend at all.

I have been here on and off for nearly 10 years. I been when it was cheap and cheerful. I've also been when it's bad, to the point even cheap and cheerful wouldn't cut it. I went ad hoc about 2 months ago. I went for just drinks, saying I wouldn't eat there again. I saw all the upholstery was renewed, it was clean and looked loved. I ended up eating here again and was pleasantly surprised. You can see it's changed owners since I had last stepped foot. I was in need of a Christmas meal venue and actually chose here. We had a Christmas dinner, on Christmas eve (today) and I was so pleased of the care, and quality of the food for an amazing price. So much so it even got the nod of appreciation from my 80yo Dad who is hard to please. I even waited after paying to speak to Max even though he was rushed off his feet about how much I have seen an improvement and how over a year ago it was Sh*t and today has really impressed me. Also, not forgetting Gary the chef. It was the best meal I've ever had from the poacher in all those years. Well done for making a success out of something that can be great again!!

Had a lovely night here, the service was amazing as soon as we walked through the door, the staff member who was seeing to us; I think his name was Malakye he was attentive and showed a great deal of professionalism at our uncertainty of what to order. I eventually went for the hunters chicken which was filling and visibly appealing - a good choice for anyone wanting something basic. All in all I will be returning again and hopefully post another 5 star review.

Ordered the fish n chips with a side of Guiness! Fish was tender and batter was gorgeous, washed down with the beautiful Guiness, hats off. Was served by Malakye who was friendly throughout service and was willing to help if anything was needed, truly amazing! Will be attending again at some point!

Since visiting the Poachers in Lincoln last month and yesterday , we will continue to go back there when we want to go out for a meal. As we do not go out that much finding somewhere where the food is good the place is clean and the people are really inviting is really rare. The landlady really cares about you and ensures you have everything you need, the food is amazing even the second time we went which is brilliant .We will go back to the Poachers

Staff were welcoming and the service was good throughout visit. The bar was busy but didn't take too long to place order and they were very good with a gluten free order. Food was delivered in reasonable timescale and quality of Sunday Roasts was very good - an extra treat using 30% off voucher. Thank you for a very pleasant dinner, and overall experience.

Bland, poorly presented meals, with a side salads that was fit for the bin, brown salad really?. I can make a better meal at home, So poor food, and to me 40 odd quid down the drain. Really was a poor experience, Will not recommend, will not return.

Great menu selection. Very nicely presented and lovely and hot. We had the sausages and mash and pie and mash which were both delicious.

Fantastic service, staff go above and beyond with a smile. Food really tasty, well presented for the price range. Added bonus of a singer in resturant singing swing classics. He was amazing, brillany voice. A really enjoyable evening with a family orientated crowd. A big thank you to the staff.
