Avoid this place...shocking...asked for refund still yet to receive it...and they wonder why pub trade is dieing :-(

A truly wonderful experience with extremely welcoming and helpful staff. The food was outstanding and our steaks were cooked to perfection. One of use has a dairy allergy and the staff were exceedingly helpful in guiding my choice to ensure that I could eat without risk! 11/10 will definitely be coming again!

old man at bar staff (possibly manager) non stop harassing me and my friend about ID however i have it on me (2004) he served me 1 pint only however told me he wont accept anymore because my ID photo was taken 2years ago. What does he want me to do? update it every 2 weeks. what a weapon. He was also rude and unprofessional with my friend who is older then me cutting us off. We only went for a few drinks and to play pool.

We were made welcome, fast service, comfortable seating and clean table. Lots of choice of drinks and food. Everything we had was really nice food with good portion sizes and value for money.

Visited during quite time early evening. Good deals on 2 meals decent ales on tap. Plenty of parking.

Had an impromptu date night with the hubby tonight. He had the Ultimate Spicey Beef Burger which he gave a thumbs up 👍 and a half as it was very tasty. I had the 8oz Angus Sirloin Steak and opted to have the light version which comes with a very flavourful Quinoa salad and added a side of sweet potato fries and their beef dripping and merlot sauce. I'd asked for the steak to be cooked medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I sent my compliments to the chefs who I later found out to be Gary, Dom and Ryan. Not sure which of them cooked my streak but it was extremely delicious and I would highly recommend the beef dripping sauce too. So rich and full of flavour and complimented the steak beautifully. We washed down our main meals with a pint on inches cider for the hubby and a large class of merlot for me..... I should add our server Khloe was polite and very professional. We of course had to finish our meals with pudding. Hubby had the salted caramel cookie brownie with ice cream and I had the jam sponge pudding with custard and they were also delicious. I've given 4* across the board as there's always room to improve. But overall an excellent evening 😊 No pictures to add it was just to tasty to stop eating lol....

Long wait for food. When it arrived it was cold. Salad garnish was old and limp. Cheese on plate of vegan order. Disappointing as wanted this to be nice as we are locals. Do not recommend at all.

I have been here on and off for nearly 10 years. I been when it was cheap and cheerful. I've also been when it's bad, to the point even cheap and cheerful wouldn't cut it. I went ad hoc about 2 months ago. I went for just drinks, saying I wouldn't eat there again. I saw all the upholstery was renewed, it was clean and looked loved. I ended up eating here again and was pleasantly surprised. You can see it's changed owners since I had last stepped foot. I was in need of a Christmas meal venue and actually chose here. We had a Christmas dinner, on Christmas eve (today) and I was so pleased of the care, and quality of the food for an amazing price. So much so it even got the nod of appreciation from my 80yo Dad who is hard to please. I even waited after paying to speak to Max even though he was rushed off his feet about how much I have seen an improvement and how over a year ago it was Sh*t and today has really impressed me. Also, not forgetting Gary the chef. It was the best meal I've ever had from the poacher in all those years. Well done for making a success out of something that can be great again!!

Ordered the fish n chips with a side of Guiness! Fish was tender and batter was gorgeous, washed down with the beautiful Guiness, hats off. Was served by Malakye who was friendly throughout service and was willing to help if anything was needed, truly amazing! Will be attending again at some point!

Had a lovely night here, the service was amazing as soon as we walked through the door, the staff member who was seeing to us; I think his name was Malakye he was attentive and showed a great deal of professionalism at our uncertainty of what to order. I eventually went for the hunters chicken which was filling and visibly appealing - a good choice for anyone wanting something basic. All in all I will be returning again and hopefully post another 5 star review.

Recently had brilliant Sunday roast here, the place is lovely and service is always with a smile especially if you have Malakye serving you.

Since visiting the Poachers in Lincoln last month and yesterday , we will continue to go back there when we want to go out for a meal. As we do not go out that much finding somewhere where the food is good the place is clean and the people are really inviting is really rare. The landlady really cares about you and ensures you have everything you need, the food is amazing even the second time we went which is brilliant .We will go back to the Poachers

Staff were welcoming and the service was good throughout visit. The bar was busy but didn't take too long to place order and they were very good with a gluten free order. Food was delivered in reasonable timescale and quality of Sunday Roasts was very good - an extra treat using 30% off voucher. Thank you for a very pleasant dinner, and overall experience.

Bland, poorly presented meals, with a side salads that was fit for the bin, brown salad really?. I can make a better meal at home, So poor food, and to me 40 odd quid down the drain. Really was a poor experience, Will not recommend, will not return.

Great menu selection. Very nicely presented and lovely and hot. We had the sausages and mash and pie and mash which were both delicious.

Fantastic service, staff go above and beyond with a smile. Food really tasty, well presented for the price range. Added bonus of a singer in resturant singing swing classics. He was amazing, brillany voice. A really enjoyable evening with a family orientated crowd. A big thank you to the staff.

I had a disappointing experience at the Lincolnshire Poacher. The food quality was very poor and definitely not worth the price. To make matters worse, the customer service was unhelpful and unwelcoming. I wouldn’t recommend dining here and will not be returning. B Smith

Good food, service speed is average, but staff are super friendly. At the moment they have portable mini heaters around the pub as the main heating is not working. Easy to order, which you can do from the table using a QR code.

I thought I was eating the leftovers from I'm a celebrity.

The service was excellent, and the food arrived very quickly after I ordered online. The taste was good and the portion size represented good value for the price.

Disappointed with menu and service

Lovely sunday dinner, we had half roast chicken which was very tasty, it was very busy but the wait wasnt too long, food was delicious, a rad more gravy would have made it perfect tho! They serve food all day and sunday roast is available until they run out basically. Big cark park and quick bar staff.

Nice food, but very unfriendly to dogs. Dogs are not allowed on their carpet even though the majority of tables are in those areas.

What a difference a year makes! I visited last year and left a deserved bad review, but heard things had improved so gave it another go. Great service, clean and well refurbished. Decor is lovely. The food was very very good. Looked freshly cooked and tasted good. 8 of us ordered different meals and all of us very happy. Definitely recommend

Went for lunch with a friend and the staff couldn't be more helpful with my food intolerance, Chole and chef Steve and the other bar staff were just fabulous. I cannot recommend them enough.

Came for Sunday lunch as its amazing. Meal sizes are amazing and always tastes amazing. Staff are always so friendly.Always recommend to friends and family. Good play area outside also.

It was a lovely atmosphere for a Sunday roast and the waiters and waitresses had a positive attitude despite how busy it was. We waited about 45 minutes for our food and weren’t warned about the long wait until we asked but we didn’t mind. Portion sizes are huge, good value for money!

You get told of a wait time and put simply double what you are told. Had this problem here before, made the mistake of giving a second chance. Total incompetence personified.

Visiting Lincoln and stopped by after work on a Thursday evening. Busy but tables available which gave the pub a nice atmosphere. We had our dog which meant we had to sit in the bar area. When ordering was told food time would be 30 mins, but we waited less. Food came out lovely and warm and tasty. Thanks, well worth the stop.

Great friendly service from Helen and Emily who were serving at the bar and greeting guests. The man who took my food order who was wearing a waistcoat was very rude , he stomped off to the kitchen because I had asked for my soup and baguette to be brought out at the same time!!!!! The pub got very busy relatively quickly , despite this we were not waiting long for our food. It came out piping hot and my steak was cooked perfectly. A big shout out to the only two chefs working in the kitchen today Brad and Dom , you did a fantastic job. A great kitchen team !

Unfortunately the chicken in the peri peri chicken baguette I had today was mostly gristle and chewy bits of meat, I didn't eat much at all. The peri sauce was quite acidic and garlicky. Almost to an intolerable level. Service was good though and that was the saving grace. We've been twice in the past 18 months and not overly been impressed, probably won't attend again which is sad really.

The staff were generally polite and friendly. The food however was very poor. On the mixed grill the steak was tough and fatty throughout, the gammon and gammon was tough and the chips were soggy. My daughter had sausage, mash and beans and the mash was tough, stuck together firmly ans though it had been reheated many times over and very dry. My son had tomato pasta and the sauce water very watery. The only fairly decent dish was the Mac and cheese with pulled pork, but that was it. Not one to usually complain, but this was very bad on this occasion. Hopefully a one off.

Always super friendly and good service time. Any issues are always dealt with friendly and professionaly, cant go wrong coming here! Recently served by Imy and Khole at the bar and the chef Dom for the food. All was ace for the ultimate chicken burger and a medium rare surf and turf and a couple of pints of neck oil

This has been my local pub for the past 2.5 years, and every single time I've been I've had nothing but a great time. There's a lovely vibrant atmosphere and the staff / management are great, never had any problems! There's a great selection of drinks and offers, and the food has been fantastic! A special mention has to be made for the chef Dom and bar staff Imy and Khole, who have always done a great job at making me, my friends and partner welcome. I'm very sad to be moving away so I won't be able to call this my local anymore, but I can wholeheartedly recommend this pub to anyone who stops by in the area.
