The food was well presented, hot, and delicious. Good value for money. Excellent service, the staff are very pleasant, friendly and helpful, especially the older man with the moustache who served us at the bar. He was smart, friendly and extremely polite. The chefs gary and brad were excellent, food was great and the customer service from jayne was impeccable, she really made sure it was managed well, the lady behind the bar khloe was a gem, patient and very helpful/insightfull, thank you for making it a pleasant xperience, i spent £80 for 4 ppl and id spend it again.

Lovely meal and fantastic service from Emily. The mixed grill was amazing as was the spicy burger. Perfect way to end the working week - thank you for a perfect evening.

Fabulous rump steak with the surf & turf, Nice chips, and desserts and very friendly staff. Kids play area meant you could actually enjoy your time whilst the children ran around. Slightly out of the way but we enjoyed the pub and would recommend a visit. S T

Well after a lovely first time back meal, a month back and now another today,. I can say I Will BE BACK and I Will definitely recommend this place for food and everything else. Great pub, lovely staff, food was slow to come out but the quality has improved lots since our visit a year ago, absolutely great. Disappointed that our blue light cards cannot be used in the pub and only our app can be , my phone battery went and I was unable to provide the app but had my physical card on me, still this was rejected by staff which I think is unfair, I also had my NHS I.d but that was rejected too. It was really hot and u fortunately the windows are sealed shut so no through breeze, That being said - good night had by all and the playground is a welcome bonus

Food was lovely and Speedy service

I like this pub, the outdoor play area is perfect. One bad thing is on a Sunday all you can get is a roast dinner. My disabled daughter can't eat alot due to her pallet. So I wasn't happy we had to leave and then find somewhere else that did other options on a sunday

Booked for lunch with the kids and ended up spending 4hrs here because they were so happy running around the garden. Playground is small but enough and unlike a lot of places the climbing frame (and slide) is actually accessible for toddlers independently (i.e. not only accessible via cargo nets or climbing walls!). We'd asked for a table near the playground when we booked and they actually had three possibilities ready for us to choose from when we arrived, with the one we selected being perfect and by the door to the playground, with lots of indoor space around the table for them to spread out. Manager (I think) who greeted us was very welcoming and helpful throughout our visit and the staff were really friendly. Food was very nice and great value! We will be going again next time we're in Lincoln.

Going to this pub is like watching something off of Alan Partridge. Staff appear completely clueless to anything going on, which would be funny if they weren’t suppose to be providing a service. We had a birthday in our group, had given the waitress a cake and some candles- were told to let them know when we want them, but they couldn’t even get this right as the waitress that brought the cake was moody, rude and didn’t even bring the candles. The food left A LOT to be desired. Won’t be going again and wouldn’t recommend you do either. Save your money and go to a professional establishment. One star is far too good.

Have visited here a few times in my life . Always reasonable pricing for bothfood and drinks.. nice atmosphere and area outside for kids to play

Very clean and tidy, friendly helpful staff. Food excellent. A big one for us is that it is dog friendly and also have a pup menue so the dog doesn't miss out, there is a choice of animal friendly meals as well as ice cream for their dessert. There is a tub of dog biscuits and ice water with bowls to help yourself to. If you have children there is also a big children's play area. I cannot rate this pub enough. We will definitely be Back here on a regular basis. They have thought of everything. We'll done and a big thankyou x

The food was lovely and could not be falted in any way, only waited 20 minutes, staff was friendly and made you feel welcome, only issue was that I was told they had no mustard and they were not getting anymore as the supplier they use does not supply it no more, hint go to Tesco just up the road😊 still 5 stars though

Went in for Sunday Lunch, had cauliflower cheese tart and was cold in the middle, didn't even get an apology! This was then recooked but given my old plate back, with all gravy dried up and not offered anymore. If you want your food cooked or decent service then I would avoid

Great curry the chicken in the tikka was so moist I even had to speak to the chef it was that good Steve the head chef most be a master at this job

Visited twice since the refurb and in my opinion it's gone down hill. Food was terrible on both occasions. Thought I'd give it a second try, but the chicken was tough, bacon was burnt and no BBQ sauce on the hunters chicken. My last visit unfortunately. Such a shame.

Under new management with new menu and great drinks selection. Sunday roast is very good with generous portion of meat and good selection of vegetables. Children have good play area too.

We had fantastic service from lady behind the bar called 'Hannah...' She was really friendly, made us all feel welcome and at home. Hannah is a massive asset to this pub. We will be coming back sometime soon. Thanks again Hannah for making our visit an enjoyable one!

This a great pub and I'm glad to have it as my local, the pub is very spacious with good atmosphere, the food and drink are quite decent and the staff such as Helen are a pleasure to be served by.

Had a very enjoyable evening at The Lincolnshire Poacher last night. Staff and food were excellent, special mention to Helen, the manager who went above and beyond with service. We will definitely be back.

We were greeted warmly on arrival and service was friendly and effective. I liked the lunchtime menu where you can have a smaller portion of a main meal.

Jayne was fabulous. Really welcoming and made sure our meal was just how we wanted it. Every member of staff we came across were really helpful.

We had a wonderful time, really friendly staff. Ended up chatting to Neil who I think runs the place and he made us feel really welcome and made sure we had everything. We definitely go back next time we're near.

Lovely food and staff very welcoming for family's and great atmosphere

Went today for our school class summer meal. Being in an all needs school this can sometimes be a stressful time for everyone. Jayne and her staff were amazing, help the students feel relaxed and they were very patient whilst each student paid. Gary and Ryan did a brilliant job in the kitchen of getting all the meals ready, hot and out all at the same time. Thank you for making our day very special and for taking some of the pressure off of our school staff.

Great pub with excellent facilities for children. We love the play area! Enjoyed a pub lunch with coffees and soft drinks.

It has probably been 7 or 8 years since our last visit to the poacher. We hadn't been for a long while because our last few previous experiences had been very poor indeed. We thought we'd give it another go as it has since been relaunched under new management/ownership. We were very pleasantly surprised! The place is far better kept now, with a lovely welcoming feel. It was incredibly clean and tidy. The building is huge, and there is loads of seating, so it felt spacious and relaxing. The food smelled great from the car park and we were not disappointed. As far as pub grub goes, you couldn't want for more. Burgers were delicious, fries were hot and crispy. My son particularly enjoyed his curry and the angry midget (my daughter) didn't moan once! The service was a little slow, particularly as it wasn't busy at all, but to give the girls credit, this was because they were tending to everyone with politeness and attention. It was very reasonably priced too. Thank you for our lovely meal, we'll probably be back very regularly now.

Nothing to write home about booked table for my partners birthday. To be told the things he wanted to order they hadn't got. 3rd attempt, steak which they called sirloin steak which was as tough as old boots, beef lasagne was a microwave meal.

This was a visit after The Poacher has had an upgrade. Lovely to see it looking clean and updated as it was looking very rough round the edges! The food was lovely and nicely presented. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. A much nicer visit than previous ones. We will definitely revisit.

Updated 27.5.24 After speaking with the landlord, he has clarified their dog policy and we did not do anything wrong, the member of staff was incorrect and has since been updated on their policy. Had lovely service today and a nice meal. Not going to criticise the place as the food was lovely, nice beer garden and clean inside and out and we have visited several times over the last few weeks and decided to call in tonight mid dog walk as we knew the pub was dog friendly. However, we were enjoying drinks in the beer garden tonight and when our food was delivered the thin ginger haired lady (so called manager) was confrontational about our small/medium sized dog sitting on the outdoor waterproof bench seat?? Lots of other dogs indoors on seats and benches, multiple dogs outside on the benches but only we were told to move our dog.. be consistent, you are either dog friendly or not and if it is company policy apply the rules to everyone not just tell us. Made to feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable after spending nearly £80.00 on food and drinks.

I experienced a wonderful time with family and friends for my 80th birthday here. The staff were excellent and very attentive. The buffet food was first class, served fresh and including delicious hot food. I will definitely recommend to my friends in the future. I felt that the help given to me in the planning of the event was second to none, and very much appreciated.

We have eaten from your bar menu on several occasions recently and have been reasonably satisfied. We tried your Sunday lunch menu yesterday and frankly we were disgusted. The soup was at best ordinary, but the main courses were very poor. I had beef, which was tough and dry. The vegetables were sparse, but overcooked and which she found card board like without taste. The service was not brilliant. We both felt the main courses had spent a long time waiting, probably on a not very warm hot plate! The broccoli, what there was of it was wilting and brown. We didn’t wait for sweets. Sorry to be so hypercritical, but the whole experience was terribly disappointing and spoiled an otherwise very pleasant day!

The app was useless, order was wrong, luckily the woman behind bar sorted the issue out, but overpriced for what you get but that's the way of the world now , came in for a bite to eat, just mains, £50 inc drinks ( £3.50 for a pepsi ) , yikes, will think twice before coming again

Real shame place is lovely great surroundings, but the food we found to be rushed. The phily steak was spicy when it said bbq. And my cowboy burger was still very greasey. Also, the onion ring rings that were forgotten until I asked for them came out very well cooked so much that they were just batter. Having said that, it was a quick place to have a bite to eat. Wewill try again in the future to see if it was a one-off.

Comfortable atmosphere and good food and service.

Last time I came here was pre-pandemic when I visit family here and it wasn't great so much so we said we wouldn't come back, but now it great again food was very nice and enjoyable the wait was on the long side which is why I have marked it down and the interior could use abit of updating, but I will be back next time I'm visiting.

Lincolnshire poacher is a very welcoming place. staff are polite, professional and friendly. Food is exceptional which made our evening very enjoyable. Would highly recommend visiting this place. Nice to have some good vegan options. :)

We were politely greeted and seated. Ordering was easy. One of the steaks was inedible but was swiftly changed.

I’m from Leeds and often come here when I visit my parents in Lincoln. Our waiter was Sally and she was brilliant- friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Looking forward to our next visit!

Cane for dinner with family and friends, brilliant food, too many drinks, and a live singer on. Wasn’t expecting the live music, but it was a great addition.

The food was amazing, steak wonderful and cooked exactly how it was asked for, the steak baguette was delicious. The tables were cleared promptly and wiped down, no sticky tables. A very enjoyable lunch, good staff made it an enjoyable experience x

I thought we would give the place a try since the renovations as we swore we would never return two years ago. What an amazing difference, lovely decor and garden, very friendly staff and plenty of them and the food was lovely.

Recently it has been taken over, and you can tell as it's so much better than before. We used haven't been in over 5 months and the food has improved significantly since then. Hats off to Steve the chef on a superb steak and ale pie! The kids menu food is generously portioned as well. Staff are all lovely and welcoming and Imy was great at interacting with our little girl which we have found doesn't happen often. A wonderful addition to the team! The atmosphere is relaxed and even though we took our 14 month old daughter, we didn't feel out of place amongst the Sunday diners like you do in some places. The decor has been updated and its a lovely place to be now and one I'm glad to call my local. Keep up the good work!
