Fantastic staff, very professional and welcoming and have great customer service great food highly recommended. Quiz nights are always a laugh.

Although the pub was really busy, the staff were lovely and very helpful. Food was great too. Perfect spot between the Cathedral and the Castle

Very different decor. Clean tables. Friendly and attentive staff. Food delivered fast and hot. I particularly liked the small, lunch time offers. I hate wasting Food. Too many pubs give huge portions and it's so off putting. Well done.

We just spent an intense afternoon climbing the local steep hill, then the castle walls, and exploring the Lincoln Cathedral. After such a day, it is nothing but a relief to sit down in a cosy, friendly pub, right in the middle of town. The staff was very nice, and the fish&chips they served us was almost too large to finish. It must be that the locals who swarm about the place are known as big eaters.

We had a lovely meal with a lovely view of the Castle square and cathedral - wonderful! Staff were amazing and friendly, food came quickly and was very good. Would definitely go again

We booked the magna carta as a pre cathedral show. It was extremely busy. On a few floors. Eating is upstairs. When it is so busy at and around the bar, would have preferred order taken from table. There is a good choice on the menu. For the price really couldn't complain about the food. Would return if in the area. Staff did a good job in preparing and delivering the food in such a busy environment.

Our journey started before visiting when I added a special request for a spacious table as I use a walking stick. Not knowing the venue I didn't want to be sat squashed in a corner. I received a phone call from a staff member who explained the layout to ensure we were given a suitable table. During drinks we were approached and asked if we still wanted to dine as the kitchen was closing at 9 and didn't want us to miss out. We used the app and received a 30% discount as there was a January dine offer. The food arrived (mixed grill) and despite the steak being a bit chewy everything was very tasty and worth every penny, even if we didn't have the discount! I would like to thank all that made our experience a pleasure and when we return to Lincoln, which has become a personal favourite, we will know exactly where we will be going for dinner! Superb venue with excellent staff.

Very welcoming. Good service and atmosphere. Food pretty good. I also spent a pleasant couple of hours in the pub on Thursday as my wife was guest bell ringing at the Cathedral. I saw first hand how friendly the staff were to other patrons, many who were clearly regulars and greeted warmly by staff. What a lovely pub.

Great pub, lovely staff, fantastic position, favourite pub in Lincoln. Food is very well priced & always good, landlord seems to keep a keen eye on the place which i really appreciate. Only down side... it's a tough walk up that hill!

Family of 4 with a dog were made to feel very welcome. Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for food and very pleased we did. Highly recommend.

Sara remembered one of my personalised drinks, the last 3 times I’ve come in (within the last 3 weeks). It’s the kind of customer service you appreciate and come back too! A good pineapple, spiced rum and lemonade.

Very helpful and friendly staff, reasonable choice and prices on menu, drinks not overpriced. The place was busy, but a table was found for us. Food was good. Only problem was there was NO flexibility with menu, nothing could be changed. So as we had 2 vegetarians, the menu was very limited. Later in the evening it got a bit rowdy downstairs, but it was just before Christmas on a Friday night.

For the busiest Saturday of the year it was brilliant, got a table amd ordered food for family, it arrived promptly and was amazing, great staff makes this a great visit.

Really cozy pub in a really nice spot in Lincoln next to the cathedral. We were walk-ins and they let us know we might have to wait up to 30 minutes and we had our food maybe 10 minutes later. The staff were really lovely, accommodating when I accidentally ordered a drink they didn't have and also when a spurt of noise overwhelmed me when I was ordering. The food was incredible and really well priced as well. Dog friendly and separation of the rooms in the pub allow for the drinkers and diners to happily occupy their own spaces.

Booked for food. Met by member of staff on arrival who was very helpful despite how busy it was. Food order taken at our table even. Good natured staff. Good quality food. Even catered for gluten free. All in all a nice Christmas visit in a vibrant atmosphere.

We were a group of 9 and it was easy to book in advance and pre-order food. When we arrived the staff were excellent and welcoming, especially considering how busy the pub was. The food was hot and delicious, and delivered in a timely fashion. The staff could not have been more helpful and this persuaded us to order deserts / more drinks. Would highly recommend the Magna Carta and its staff.

As soon as we arrived and gave our name, they knew our booking without having to look it up. They went the process for oredering drinks, even offering to help carry them down to our table. Once at the table, they moved us for a better family experience. They expedited our food as we were going to the cathedral afterwards (how they knew that was amazing, as we hadn't told them). The food we ordered was finished by everyone, and it was well cooked and reasonably priced We were delighted with the overall experience and have already booked to come back next week.

Our club were absolutely spoilt last night as the Magna Carta provided an excellent 3 course Christmas meal for us.The service was efficient and the staff courteous and polite.The food was lovely and hot,we couldn’t expect anything better. Well done to all the staff who carried it out on a really busy night in the cathedral quarter of our lovely city.

Booked the top 2 floors for a Hockey Christmas do. Lou was very helpful in getting everything organised for the day. We pre-ordered all our food and some of the first drinks which were waiting for us as soon as we arrived. We had a personal assistant covering the floor if we had any questions or needed anything. Drinks were ordered though a QR code and arrived very quickly. Good value for money and a lovely atmosphere and free Christmas crackers!

We had scampi and chips here with Guinness and red wine. It was excellent on all counts and the service was first class. Hella looked after us and is a delightful young lady who was friendly and efficient. Definitely will visit again on our next trip to Lincoln. Excellent staff makes for a good evening. Thanks .

Very busy pub with lots of groups of people drinking, some clearly having had too many and being very loud not a great atmosphere to sit and enjoy a meal but having said that we didn't feel uncomfortable as everyone seemed friendly. Despite the pub being busy the staff were friendly helpful and attentive, all food and drinks are ordered at the bar and paid for in advance, our meals arrived surprisingly quickly considering how busy the pub was the portion size was adequate and the quality of the food was good the presentation was ok, I think they must of been low on cheese as there was barely any on either of our Hunters Chicken, the chicken breast was a little on the cool side too. Having said that we still enjoyed our meals but probably wouldn't eat here again. That's not a reflection on the staff though as they were all really hard working and wonderful.

Dog friendly place with a chain pub feel. Staff very friendly and attentive, food was tasty but nothing special. It served a purpose but we didn’t feel the need to return. The place had a whiff of bad drains which wasn’t great.

The food was amazing. The tartar sauce was delicious. Will our waiter was so helpful and friendly.

Been coming here on/off for a number of years whilst our daughters have been at University. It is always very welcoming and last night was no exception. We take our dog and he is always spoilt with plenty of biscuits. Last night we ate there and we were not disappointed. The food and service was fantastic. We will definitely be back next time we are in Lincoln.

Will the barman was really friendly and helpful. He had a cheerful disposition and made our lunch time break from Christmas shopping really pleasant. Would recommend the magna carta.

Lovely pub, with very friendly staff. Located opposite the castle it's perfectly placed in historic Lincoln. My partner and I are gluten-free and it was lovely to see a (smallish) dedicated gluten-free menu with a fair range of choices. The meal when it arrived (cowboy burger and an ultimate spicy burger) was hot and the warmed dish kept it that way till the last bite. Both meals were very tasty, well cooked and full of flavour. A great find, we will definitely return.

The service we received was excellent from all your staff. The staff were genuinely friendly and excellent customer service. The food was typical pub food and did the job .

One of our favourite places in one of our favourite towns - good friendly service and reliably good food. It is sad however that going forward it will be difficult for us to visit - we stay overnight in a CamperVan and from November Lincoln Council no longer allow us to stay overnight at the Lawns.

Visited the Magna Carter for a drink during a recent stay in Lincoln. Received a warm welcome from the staff there. Kerry was behind the bar and was polite and friendly and we decided to eat there. The food was brought to us by Max I believe and he was also friendly and chatty. We had the Steak & Ale Pie and the Chicken Tikka Masala which were both really tasty. Wry good easily ingredients clearly and very good value. Stayed for a couple more drinks. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff with a good selection of beers make this a must when in Lincoln.

Wonderful pub that is steps from the Cathedral and the Castle. A varied menu for all tastes and dietary requirements. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. We particularly appreciated the attention of our server Hella!!

Popped in whilst staying locally. Just had a drink so can’t comment on the food. The atmosphere was really good and the manager Karl took his times to chat to us which was nice. It is a lovely quite quirky pub. Different levels with various types of seating. It is in a fantastic spot near the cathedral, or the very big church as one visitor wanting directions called it, made us smile. Would definitely recommend, lovely place.

My favourite pub in Lincoln. The staff treat me as a friend as well as a customer. Nothing is too much. Will, Jay, Carl and Lou are so welcoming and make me feel welcome, whatever the weather. The best local in Lincoln for a pint or two or a meal with the family on a cold wet Sunday afternoon.

Had a few nights out in Lincoln with friends. Was only going to stop in for a drink but after seeing some of the food come out we thought we'd grab a bite. We only tried a couple of the sharers but they were really good, the loaded fries in particular were amazing! Staff were really friendly and the atmosphere was lively yet friendly. Good selection of drinks at normal prices. All in all, a great little find and would recommend anyone to pop their heads in.

Came here for a 21st birthday, we had a lovely evening with amazing food. The service was excellent, very quick and efficient, with food coming out quickly and was very warm. There was a quiz whilst we were there and although we didn’t take part it was still enjoyable to play along. The quiz master was very accommodating too and would show us the pictures for the questions although we wasn’t officially taking part on the app. Overall an amazing evening and would definitely recommend! Ps. Would definitely recommend the ultimate spicy beef burger!!

Fantastic night at the Monday quiz. We go regularly. The staff are very friendly from the landlady to bar staff to quiz master Karl who, although dyslexic runs a great fun quiz.

Really nice pub! The location Is excellent and the food is really good. Nice quality and decent portions. Had a great vibe when we went on a Friday night. I'd say if you want a really nice pub with good beer, great food and a lovely team of people looking after you definitely worth a visit, or two. Also might be worth booking a table as it got busy on most nights we saw.

Amazing place. Historical relevance can't be ignored. Food is amazing. Cute atmosphere. Only trouble is that you need to order at the bar and not at the table, even though there are QR codes kept in every table. I found it a bit strange. Also I would recommend reserving a table because it is very popular and manot be able to find a table if you show up last minute.

Lovely evening meal. Great service. Had the soup, Mac and Cheese and my husband had a burger. Very good.

Popped into the Magna Carta for a quick drink and ended up staying for the evening after being invited to join the Monday quiz. A really friendly pub, situated between the cathedral and castle. I was made welcome by the regulars and staff. The food is really reasonable, especially as it is right in the heart of the old City. I chose real comfort food of Mac n Cheese with pulled pork topping which came with 2 slices of garlic bread and salad. It was delicious. Also had a rocky road sundae for dessert. Lots of beer and cider on tap and I had 3 pints of Inch's cider. To top it all one of the regulars was celebrating his 50th and I got offered some cake. Highly recommended pub if you are going to this historic City.

A brilliant place in Lincoln for awkward eaters. We are carnivorous and they happily adapted the menue to suit our needs. Service was excellent, the staff very friendly and helpful when it came to paying with a blue light code. Magna Carta is definitely recommended for folks on a short visit to Lincoln. Food excellent and a great range of drinks.

Me and my mum ordered the mac and cheese (mum with the spicy chicken and me with the popcorn chicken). Genuinely the nicest meal I have ever had. The cocktails are always 10/10 and are absolutely delicious. My sister’s kids meal (pasta) was great quality and she loved it. The staff are the most welcoming and lovely, helpful staff I have ever encountered. Thank you for the amazing meal ❤️

This place is amazing. It’s well worth visiting. You are treated more like a friend than just a customer. There is so much attention to detail and they take good care of you especially if you have allergies. Well worth a visit. Will definitely go again

Pleasant vibrant atmosphere at 6.30pm on a Friday. Staff were helpful, but a touch condescending when we weren't exactly sure what we wanted. Guy who delivered the food was very friendly and positive. Food was good though The Ultimate Spicy burger was bland. The burger patties were fine. But.no.spice, the jalapeños tasted of nothing.

Really enjoyed our weekday quick lunch at Magna Carta. The leek and potato soup and cauliflower “wings” were delicious, and our service from Hella was superb. Recommend!
