Morrisons Cafe in Northampton

Absolutely horrible place. Now I understand that it is a Morrisons cafe so we really were not expecting high quality food and oh my gosh did we get a disappointment and a half. First of all we order on the machine which was fine we sat down with the number and then a staff member came over to us and told us to wait there he will come with our drinks, not even a mintue later another staff member came over and told us a completely different thing they told us to go get any drinks we want and do it our self’s, well we couldn’t do it ourselves because there was no cups. Next problem we ordered a meatball sub and then we were told they had non well first of all why is it still available on the machine if u don’t have it why offer it and then have to change what u want, they basically said you have to choose something from here but we can’t heat it up even tho what’s why we chose the meatball sub because it was a hot option. The food came and pretty much everything was cold except one dish. They forgot things on our order and didn’t even say sorry for not having things that we ordered. The tables were dirty and they just didn’t seem like they cared or knew what they were doing. DO NOT RECOMMEND to anyone even just for a drink !!!!

Always come to cafe, sometimes food is good sometimes it’s not great, todays experience was mostly to do with staff, very very rude, I’ve worked in hospitality all my life and never encountered such rude staff, always complaining short staffed, but then when more of them on they mess around, witnessed staff throwing cups at each other last week… think Morrisons need to look and who they are employing

Staff was unpolite one young girl looked like she was on some sort off drug the food was not worth the money we payed for the drinks was cold the chips we had was over cooked my 11 month old can do better with this

Had to order and pay with app on table dont use mobile phone.No staff on till walked out can not believe it.I will not be be back again you are not running a self service shop and should have staff.

This café was the worst experience I've ever had! Me and My family had to wait 1 hour and 30 minutes just for a small crappy meal. The machine was clearly bugged. My Dad ordered the same thing as my Brother. Guess what? HE DIDN'T GET ANYTHING TO EAT!!! The tables were dirty, the service was terrible, no-one was taking the food away once someone else went. The food was also WAY overcooked. I HIGHLY recommend staying away from this café.

So I came here with my family for a lunch. Cafe looked nice, food was pretty cheap and had no problem with the staff. After we finished ordering using the machine, we went to look for a table and found at least 1/4 of tables not cleaned up yet and the table we set at had some minor spillage at the edge not cleaned up despite being clear. It wasn't that big of a deal till we realised we had to wait 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES just for our food for 5 people. It was pretty outrageous considering the cafe was not that busy and I would say 30-40 mins max should be the norm at any cafe or restaurant usually no matter what but 80 minutes??? Worst part was my dad's meal ,which was a burger, which we ordered, did not even register on the machine despite us ordering it so he waited 80 minutes just to go hungry. Yeah we probably should have checked the receipt but who would expect something like this anyway. Food wise was okay and hot but you could tell it was frozen but it is £5 for a meal for a reason. But in what world do you have to wait 1hr 20 minutes to get frozen food and have the machine malfunction and not register one order?? I'm okay with eating it but nothing is worth that long of wait. This was probably a first for me to ever experience such terrible management. I'm not sure but from what it seemed they probably only had like 1-3 cooks otherwise it shouldn't have taken this long. If you ever decide to go here, would recommend to go in small groups and check your receipts for everyone's order.

My daughter and granddaughter went into the Northampton Morrisons cafe today to have dinner. Only to find that there was no child’s menu at all so decided to have two chicken dinner’s. After she had paid she was told that there was no chicken left and this was 1 o’clock Sunday dinner time on a Sunday. She asked for a refund as there was nothing there that she or the child liked. Not a very good experience so won’t be visiting Morrisons again.

Open till 6:00pm really seems to mean, shut an hour earlier! Having driven 400 miles, we were looking forward to eating here then doing our weeks shopping and what happens? Early cafe closure meant find somewhere else to eat then shop at.....Sainsburys. Just glad we hadn't driven 400 miles specifically to eat here.

Visited 26/4 around 11am, the tables are all numbered now & the self service kiosk OR person behind the till asks for your table number when you order - I haven't got to a table yet to know what number it is. The old system where you picked up / where given a number card & placed it in the table stand worked so much better. Had a bacon in a roll & a sausage in a roll which arrived within 10 minutes, food tasted ok but a few hours later I felt & was sick several times, seeing as this was the last food I had consumed I won't be going back.

Before Covid, I found the Morrisons restaurants beginning to go downhill in both quality and service. Nothing could be further from the truth on this visit to the Northampton store. Only about 5 minutes from order to receiving the food at my table. I went for the Breakfast which was perfectly cooked, hot and tasty with the waitress was pleasant, had a few words to say and I must admit, the visit would tempt me back again. Well done Morrisons. Good food, good service and all at a very reasonable price.

always pop in when the shopping is done nice and friendly staff and the food is not bad either defo worth a look if your out shopping

First time we've decided to have breakfast at Morrisons - and definitely the last! Bacon was actually stone cold although looked like it had been cooked once. Everything else lukewarm except for egg which was hot as I'm assuming was only thing cooked fresh. Staff pleasant enough but food really not good enough.

After spending over £40 on shopping and on average spend at least £150 a month in there, I was told I not allowed to sit in the restaurant area, considering there was no queue and at least 10 free tables, appalling customer service. Never experienced this anywhere else, disgraceful way to treat a loyal customer.

Amongst the supermarket cafe's Morrison has my vote as one of the best. This particular cafe tends to be near the top of the tree when compared to other Morrisons and on this visit, we went for breakfast. Queuing was quick, service pretty fast and the quality of the food was high, given the price you pay and compared to other cafes. My wife had the small breakfast and I opted for the large. Basic difference is bacon/sausage is doubled up on the large with toast being included in the small but fried bread, mushrooms and tomato replacing the toast on the large. Drinks are self service - you pay up front for teapot and cup thereafter you can happily refil as long as you are using the same teabag. Service pretty quick and the waitress really did want to help, making sure that we had everything we wanted before she left. All in all, a good experience.

Brilliant. In every aspect. I.E. Service, quality, waiting for the food. We have never had a bad meal yet. Value 10/10.

Six of us decided to grace Morrison’s cafe after shopping in the town, have been before but only usually just two of us. Have to say every time I have visited the cafe, the staff have been great, so friendly, helpful and just very pleasant. It’s Easy to order, the food arrives quickly and is always brought to our table (which was clean) with a smile by a very friendly, helpful young lady that would go out of her way to make sure you are happy with your food. The veggie breakfast (which I had) was lovely, very filling and exactly as ordered. Everyone with us thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast and as always so did we. It’s not like dining at the Ritz as some seem to expect but it’s good food and value for money. Hats off to the staff 😁

Morrisons on the Kettering Road, Northampton normally put on good food and good service, however our visit to the the town centre store was completely different. 1 - Some 20 odd tables were not cleared and left full of what appeared to be half eaten meals. 2- You need a new dishwasher. Or someone that cares about crockery and utensil hygiene. I really don't like congealed rock solid egg on my fork. I went through the utensil holder and found only two or three knives and forks that were "clean" - still needed a good wipe on my handkerchief. 3.- Napkins please, not some tatty kitchen roll. 4- Floors dirty, some spillages. Tables appear wiped with dirty rag. 5- Informed by cashier that i would get 2 small bits of fish, " because it was cheaper than big bits" . Yep, got two bits "welded together". 6- Cheer up, if you are bored or fed up, do something else. Food below average, but cheap so should I complain?. I am not expecting fine dining but expect cleanliness.

New experience for me I ordered poached eggs they came as hard boiled eggs minus there shells top tip don't order poached eggs if like me you like them soft & yolky My husband had the big daddy breakfast & his fried egg came a little bit softer than my poached eggs no dipping the yolk here.

Big Daddy Breakfast - had 4 times now and each time never had exactly what advertised- always something missing . Today got bad stomach . Probably down to dirty cutlery - and suspect poor hygeine - won't be going back - A poor experience every time !

Decided to have breakfast after shopping,, bacon sandwich was ok,,however the veggie breakfast was hot and filling.. Scrambled egg.beans.mushroom and hash brown. Could do with a bigger portion of beans though.

Food first class. Service speedy (once your order is taken) and this latter comment is the nub of the problem here.

A few of us decided to go to the cafe. We had to wait to be served for a few minutes as no staff, he then over charged for items. We finally found a clean table, bit unfortunately the cage was very unclean food and plates on the table food all over the floor, also there were no trays for people to tidy away. Parts of the order came out wrong and items burnt. The place was quiet, hate to see what it would be like when busy.

I have been disappointed on previous visits to this cafe but I have to say it is much improved. The cafe has had a complete makeover and is much better. There is a good choice on the menu and the staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back.

For being a Cafe inside a supermarket it is a lot better than you would expect. The BBQ burger is to die for, and the lamb shank is great priced at less than £5 I think. Would definitely recommend if you're after something cheap and cheerful.

We have had lunch here many times and there are often got offers on and your food is brought to you with a smile, very nice with a wide choice of food on offer.

Called in for an early breakfast so it wasn't too busy. The lady that took our order cooked it and served it to us and all with a lovely smile. She's a credit to the cafe. Much appreciated, we'll definitely go back.

Having had some adverse comments about the restaurant in the past, I was delighted to find that this visit was excellent.

Great value quick service. But due to location can be very noisy . I do like the fact that if there is an item in the breakfast you don't like it can be changed for something else of the same value.

Average food. Dirty seats and badly in need of a refurbishment. Very tired looking but seems to be popular with the elderly.

I come to this place at least once a month and have never been disappointed! Food is nice and healthy, always hot when they bring it to you. Very nice coffee. They have amazing, family friendly offers, like, free drink and free kid meal. Last time I payed less then £9 for my self and 2 kids! Staff is friendly and helpful, very patient with children.

They got the order wrong, The food was dried up and cold will never go back there again when I complained the staff were rude!

I honestly don't know why I keep going in here. The food is and has always been diabolical. Disrespectful staff, dirty tables, manly floors were nothing gets swept up. Total waste of money

I've visited this cafe on many occasions and the wait time and quality is very varied. If you go in peak times you'll wait up to half an hour sometimes. I've always found the staff to be cheerful and polite. There are often uncleared tables though presumably because staffing is kept to a minimum.

Food dried up, warm and tasteless , staff really not interested, price was far too much for quality of food, left and went to macdonalds

As with most supermarket cafes it's cheapish, but this cafe is better than most with deals and efficient staff to serve you

Came for full breakfast was disgusting worst ever had sausage over cooked bacon tastes weird the fat still white but brown in middle in places and no flavour.

What you can expect from a supermarket cafe. Food is fine, reasonably priced. Alright for some quick food. Very friendly staff!

First of all I asked for the Steak & Ale pie. Go told they had no pies.

Came here for tea after work. Placed order and then waited more than 30 minutes for food to arrive (with no explanation or apology) . I don't think it's the staff's fault, there was only one girl front of house so expect there was just one in the kitchen too. There never seems to be anyone in charge of the cafe, the poor staff always seem to be left to muddle through and deal with any hassle from unhappy diners. The food itself is very hit and miss, sometimes it's good, most of the time it's middling. Serves me right for being lazy and not cooking I guess!

Sometimes pop in for mid morning meal nice omelette and the granola is nice too. Usual standard of food as is the same in all Morrisons but can be a bit hit and miss staff and service

The cafe here is OK if you happen to be there and fancy a cuppa. It's clean enough and the staff are fine. There is a reasonable choice available to you. Sadly just nothing great to bang on about.

Possibly the worse breakfast I've had. Totally disorganized we had our breakfasts after a couple opposite got theirs even though we where ordered and sat 10 mins before them. Total lack of any management or supervision a shame really as it's got potential. But like the supermarket itself it's very poorly run.

But... Food is pretty bland and has a plastic feel to it. The baked potato with beans had clearly been coaxed back to life. OK for a quick coffee and snack but don't expect too much.

Having had a bad experience with the service last time I used this cafe, I was in the store for another purpose so decided to use it again.

Always considered Morrisons Supermarket cafe to be head and shoulders above the rest but this visit has made me have doubts .
