Advertised as £17.50 for 3 courses, all self service. We sat down to eat at 7pm, by which time they run out of starters, our main course was cold and by the time we went up for dessert there was only one choice of one remaining. So it worked out at £17.50 for a cold one course meal. There are some lovely places to eat in the village a short walk away from the hotel, where we ate for the following nights.

We booked here for a weekend stay and had dinner at Jenny’s restaurant as the fine dining was closed (Saturday eve). I can’t recall eating worse food. Overprocessed and bad quality ingredients. We also had breakfast here as there was no other options open nearby. Heart attach on a plate, again, overprocessed stodgy bad quality food. The place did not feel clean, old worn down dusty fitted carpets throughout. One person in our family suffers asthma and could immediately feel the effect on her breathing after spending just a few hours here, so stuffy and dusty.

Went for a Sunday carvary well where do I start, the free wine was like rocket fuel, the starter consisted of bitty tomato soup, pate and a minute selection of salad and that was a good choice compared to the main which was only meat, anemic stuffing balls new potatoes absolutely smothered in garlic, green beans, dried up parsnips and watery cauliflower cheese as for the gravy well water is thicker and that was all that was on offer, which brings me to the deserts I’ve no doubt about it they were gateaux and cheesecake bought from the local shop and defrosted with watered down cream, our party of 4 left and went McDonald’s on the way home as we hardly ate a thing would NEVER return and definitely wouldn’t recommend

We arrived for Afternoon tea for four at Bosworth Hall Hotel and Spa at 1.20pm. We were sent to the pool area and it took almost 20 minutes for the staff to even notice us. We were sat in a room overlooking the pool and the other guests around us were in robes. We waited 20 minutes at the desk to check in, while the attendent was on the phone and were finally told to just take a seat. After about what seemed like forever a three tiered plate with sandwiches, scones and cakes finally arrived and then a tray with tea and coffee arrived a few minutes later. The server just shoved everything on the little table in front of us and left. The sugar bowl was half filled with brown and white sugar lumps and was dirty. No tongs for the sugar. The tea was hot and tasted good, but the coffee was only luke warm, some of the china was chipped. The sandwiches were fresh and taste nice. The scones were served with jam and a pot of clotted cream, they tasted a little old. The cakes were stale and hard and should have been thrown out a few days before we arrived. The service was not very friendly (we were made to feel unwanted and as if we were interupting what they were doing). I had purchsed this through GROUPN as part of a suprise for my sisters birthday. What a letdown. I would not recommed this to anyone, it was a total waste of money.

Stayed at Bosworth Hall for 3 days. Jennys restaurant did our breakfasts, which are buffet style and pretty good. However we had our dinner there on the first night, it is a carvery but it wasnt great. It was gammon or chicken legs. The chicken was really dry - cheap too! Why offer a carvery and serve chicken legs. The 'roasties'where just baby potatoes, some of which weren't actually roasted. Frozen veg, so again on the cheap side. Soup or pate to start, with over done crusty cob bread. The pate was in a chilled fridge, which was open at the top. I saw a bug crawling on it, which is inevitable if it's open. Salad was mixed leaves, cucumber, tomatoes. Dessert was a choice of cakes, chocolate, Bakewell tart and some kind of white choc and raspberry tart. Mini ice cream tubs and cream in jugs to accompany. Not good on the whole and I wouldn't choose to eat lunch or dinner here, but the breakfast was good.

We arrived on 30.08.31, booked dinner for 6.15pm (first sitting full at 6.00pm) after traveling 250 miles we were looking forward to a nice dinner. We looked at the soup and thought is that the first course, had some, not very exiting. The main course - offered just pork, (it was okay, almost hot) hard stuffing balls, cold carrots, cold green beans and blackened potatoes swimming oil cold oil. Picked through the potatoes. Veggie options, now quite sure what that was, bits of pasta in a red sauce. Now for pudding, well it was tinned fruit salad or sandwich sponge, take you pick out of two sponges. Nearly forgot you could add a very thin cream. No cheese and biscuits, no orange juice. Also you are only allowed to drink water at the table. Cancelled Friday night, but added friends for dinner at 7.00pm on Saturday. Fingers crossed everything would be okay. Well, soup did not even smell inviting, meat, pork and beef, (very good and hot) no stuffing balls or Yorkshire puddings. Same blackened potatoes, cold carrots and the cauliflower so cold is was inedible. Pudding, well, we were lucky as there was enough cheese cake and tinned fruit left for us. All the time we were there no more pudding brought out. Complained to the lady at the desk, said the food was awful and was told it was the chef. That was it! Came home on Sunday. Breakfast for all three mornings was also very poor, just no variety, and barely warm, think they forgot to actually cook the scrambled egg on the Saturday morning, not a mushroom in site, and as for coffee, help your self to a tear off packet, just like the bedroom. So sorry to write this as we have stayed at the Hotel and eaten here for so many years, that I feel it should be noted that it has gone so down hill. Also so very embarrassing to bring friends for dinner in a beautiful setting to be offed such awful food. Suffice to say due to the attitude of the staff, both in this restaurant and the Hotel, I cannot recommend that you should stay here,or eat here.. If you have not seen the restaurant area, it is beautifully set out, it is airy, the lighting is good, the chairs are comfortable. What a shame to food does not compliment it. I am afraid that I will not stay here again until both the Hotel and Restaurant get their act together and produce the experience we have been used to when staying in the wonderful building. Thank you

Jenny's Carvery offers good, honest, satisfying fare in a comfortable and relaxed setting. I dined here six times during a four day stay (3 buffet dinners and breakfasts), and thoroughly enjoyed the freshness and quality of the food. Dinner:The soups were nice enough, with the lentil being the best. The warm crusty buns were always fresh, and delicious with a pat of soft butter. The meats were superb overall, and the friendly chefs cheerfully served up generous portions. The roast pork simply sublime, the gammon lean and flavoursome and the beef stew tender with a deliciously rich sauce. My only disappointment lay with the roast beef, which was too tough to cut with the standard cutlery. Steak knives were required...The fresh vegetables were an absolute delight - I don't think I've ever seen veg appear so appetising! The colours were beautifully vibrant, with deep emerald green broccoli and, bright green leeks. The vivid carrots, turnip, peas and red cabbage made for a veritable rainbow of vitamin-packed goodness. All of the vegetables retained their texture as well as their colour, and is testament to the care with which they were cooked.Desserts? Oh wow......A joyous selection of high quality cheesecakes, tarts, gateaux, fruit salad and a divine fruit-crammed crumble. The apple frangipane tart, baked cheesecake and crumble deserve a special mention, though my friends raved about the enormous slices of lemon meringe pie and chocolate fudge cake too. Absolutely heavenly! The cheese board selection looked splendid, with the Brie looking particularly tempting. However, I was too stuffed to sample this course. Something for next time I think!Breakfast:Another good selection comprising the classic components of a respectable Full English. Black Pudding, fried bread and hash browns offered a little additional indulgence for some. Both the fried and scrambled eggs were excellent. The muesli was better than the average hotel offering, and prunes, grapefruit & orange segments and yogurt ensured a lighter option was available. The staff were very pleasant and efficient indeed, particularly Jane. Thank you!

I thought it was pea soup as it was bland and disgusting and it was luke warm. Main course was a carvery, the carver serving was rude and miserable. They didn't have any roast potatoes?? What kind of carvery doesn't have roast potatoes? Only small boiled potatoes with skins on and potato croquettes?? Our two tables were the first in the dining area to eat at 12:30 pm. Cannot believe that the food was lukewarm at this time. The saving grace was a piece of chocolate gateau with cream. Most disappointing as I was assured by the regulars that usually there is a good choice of veggies and meals are hot! Table staff seemed in a hurry and when ordering coffee and tea, had to repeat to the 'waitress' as she was not really listening to our request. Hope a future visit from me will be far better.

We experienced carvery style dinner here which was part of our hotel package. I was disappointed and would not return to eat here. Not enough vegetable selection and food is basic.

Jennys restaurant was very basic.Tables were sticky. Dark with no atmosphere. You couldn't call it a restaurant as it was just a self service carvary. Food very average. The two staff that were working in there were very polite but only teenagers. I am surprised that a well known hotel would have such a poor quality restaurant. Certainly wouldn't recommend it or the hotel. The whole polace is very dated and needs a reburb.

We were offered a 3 course meal as part of a voucher. It was buffet style, soup or salad to start. Roast main and plain dessert. Not very exciting. We order cheese and biscuits from the bar and paid extra just to have something we enjoyed.

We arrived with great expectations for this place. We used a Groupon voucher which gave a 3 course Sunday lunch and glass of wine. We were told to go and choose our food from the starter, main course and dessert. The soup was ok. It was nice and hot but the bread roll was so hard and stale it could have broken your teeth. Next course was the carvery. The food was lovely and hot, but there was only a choice of Beef or Pork. The choice of vegetables was absolutely pathetic, just carrots and cabbage. My husband had already had the cabbage and informed me that it was not cooked, so when I went up I asked the chef if the cabbage should be raw or cooked, he said cooked and I informed him that it was not. So he took it away, so all I had to choose from were carrots. When I looked on the carvery later on they had put out the cabbage once again and added some peas to it. Absolutely pathetic. The dessert was ok. Not once during the meal did anyone come to ask us if everything was alright or if we would like another drink. They need some serious customer service training. The price that they advertise this meal is £17.00 per head. Thank goodness we did not pay the full price. We will not consider going again.

Carvery is a bit repetitive but always hot, poor dessert selection.Hot water urn seemingly is out of order in evenings when tea/coffee is part of the meal, but by morning it is working again.Staff are very good though. Just 1 question what do they use to wipe the tables with? They always seem sticky.

Greeted nicely on arrival at the restaurant. But that is as far as the service/interaction with staff goes. Everything else is look after yourself. Drinks you have to leave the restaurant and go into the bar area and take into the restaurant. Food is help yourself. We had the carvery. Meat was nice. Vegetables not so good. Hardly any choice and not much in serving trays. We ate it but our finished dirty plates were never taken away, Puddings were OK. Surprisingly plenty of choice to help yourself too. We couldn't help but comment just how fed up the staff looked. Young girls made no effort to clean the tables with cleaning products. Just flicked the bits of food left on the tables on the floor, and replaced cutlery. Really does lack any welcoming atmosphere unfortunately which is a shame. Maybe a new recruitment of staff who wanted/enjoyed the job could turn this around. Could be so much better.

Groupon Sunday lunch so can't moan about the price. However what was advertised as a "carvery" offered only beef and gammon, two sorts of potatoes and only 2 veg!The salad bar and soup were good and there was a very good selection of desserts - such a shame about the main - it really let them down. Staff were lovely.

Our party of 8 people were booked for Sunday lunch at the car very for a 50th birthday celebration. On arrival we waited ages to be seated, there was just one person waiting.I asked if all the food had been put out as all it consisted of was a few dishes of carrots, green beans and new potatoes with sliced beef floating in water and two other stews but was told 'that's all there is'. It most definitely wasn't a carvery. My knife was stuck to the table and had to be prised off. We abandoned the meal after the soup, as did a couple at another table. Quite simply a terrible dining experience in tired, grubby surroundings.

We had a 2 night Groupon deal at end of April 2016 that included dinner and buffet breakfast. The layout was double decker style table layout with buffet style servings on upper floor. The service was efficient the food average but plentiful especially at breakfast. Many coach operators use the Hotel and so it can get busy. The lower deck seating is both banquet and standard tables and chair format. The main walk way for Hotel Reception and main entrance are just below the lower deck and so if you are looking for an intimate meal - forget it !!!!

Just had our first dining experience in Jenny's which is self service, and a carvery themed restaurant in the evenings. It is inclusive in price for bed, breakfast, dinner with house wine, red Shiraz or Sauvinon BlancOn menu...starter,Soup, fresh rolls, white or brown,Fresh salmon, garnished, or pate, with fresh salad, tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, salad potato, coleslaw.Main course...carvery themedTender beef or pork loin, or fish, and two vegetarian options, bean cassoulet or pasta, cannelloni I think...didn't look too closely at that stuffing balls, Yorkshire puddingsCarrots, green beans (from frozen) cabbage,Roast and boiled new potatoesVegetarian or meat based gravy. As good as any carvery meal, only suggestion, jugs of gravy are behind vegetables dishes, heat lamps made metal band ladle hot and difficult to lift over without spilling on vegetables. It would be best if veg was behind each other and gravy at front. Room is finite and not enough for all separately placed side by side.Dessert, Two types of gateaux', cherry cobbler, cream, ice cream, fresh slices water melonCheese...mild only, and biscuits option too.Only problem the ice cream is frozen solid, serving scoops were stuck to ice cream...no utensil to remove solid ice so I gave up with that. That was when I found mild cheddar...would be ideal for choice of mature and mild on two serving plates. All told, edible, choice and good value. After all many have had room and food and bottle of wine for just under £50 per night...less if on organised coach trip.So when I saw moans I wonder what they expect for what they pay?

After reading the other reviews on here was not expecting much but was very presently surprised. Ate here for both breakfast and evening meal. Both were well cooked and hot which isn't always the case with buffet style restaurants. I would highly recommend for what they charge really couldn't fault it
