Lovely place, great friendly staff. Lovely food

Came here based on the reviews and I have to say, for the price of the trio roast it was extremely disappointing. Beef overcooked, terrible slice of lamb (chewy, couldn't consume) and a dry slice of pork. Both Yorkies were overcooked, however one was edible the other was left as was burnt and inedible. Had significantly better roasts at those cheap carvery places and that says something as they're not great. That said, the staff were lovely although couldn't complain about the poor quality of the food as no one came over to check on how the food was and 20 minutes after finishing our meal the plates are still here so still no opportunity give any feedback.

I came into the pub for a nice meal and drink, and the bar tender alex and jenny helped me out all the way through the process and was really kind and patient

Found this pub on a google search. We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful even though it was very busy. Wait times for food was minimal. Food was very nice, I had the minted lamb burger which I would recommend. Nice selection of beers. The play area for kids was small but the kids entertained themselves on it the whole time we were there. I would definitely recommend this pub and if I lived in the area I'd frequent it time and time again.

Went for midweek lunch without booking. It was quite busy with only a couple of spare tables. Staff very friendly and service was quick. Car park at the rear of the pub has quite a few spaces (there were a handful free when we went).

Save your money and eat somewhere else. Have been to this pub a few times before and the service has been a little mixed but the food has been quite consistent even though small portions. Went with family other day and some family ordered the cannelloni. The cannelloni came in an even more reduced size - this time it has been reduced by a third and they normally swap focaccia for chip - so it came with 5 chips yes 5!!! The sides of the cannelloni was watery so we asked why it was small and watery and where the rest of the chips were. The server did not know but gave us the rest of the chips and called the manager over who also didn’t know anything about the cannelloni and had to ask the kitchen who said nothing had changed and confirmed all food is cooked from frozen so we guessed that what caused water around the sides of the cannelloni. They offered to change the meal for us however we’d already waited half an hour (place was empty) and given limited vegetarian choices we just ate what we had ordered. Nice pub due to its location but would not recommend eating here.

A hidden gem on the outskirts of Leicester. Great indoor and outdoor seating and right next to the River Soar, Lakes and a Memorial walk to burn off the calories after a drink or meal. I am an infrequent visitor to the Midlands, this is my second visit to the venue and I love it. The beer garden has both open and covered / heated areas and attracts a really trendy crowd.

A great place to go on a nice day outdoor seating and a play area for children. A good choice of beers on tap and ice lollies available for the kids. I always enjoy coming to this pub. Highly recommend it for people with children.

Place looks clean and new , staff are friendly and service is quick however the food may of lacked for kids meal as it they give you a frozen pizza and a dry stale cookie in packaging other than that good place

Love this place it's service is always great Jenny who works there always makes you feel welcome. It's become a daily regular place to take friends and if you want a walk water. Ed Park is just at the back so walk drink walk.

Great place to stop by during your walk/ride in the park, or as a destination place. Can't comment on food because I didn't have any, but pub itself (inside and outside) looks alright, and the service is good too. The only thing I'd suggest would to play some music in the beer garden (there's music inside, but not outside), and to be more flexible with opening hours. For example, Sunday is open until 8pm which is reasonable, but not when it is a Bank Holiday Weekend!

Gluten free knowledge from staff was great. Amazing foods and service. Nice car park. Amazing canal side location. Nice outdoor seating with a small park for the kids.

A nice country dog friendly pub with an excellent menu. If you are in this area well worth a visit.

Bring out the drinks is slow but the service is good and staff are friendly. The hearters haven't worked the part few times I've been there. Food was ok The inside of the pub is lovely nice and the fire place is nice.

Good quality place but not pretentious at all. A bit higher than my normal price range. Dog owners will find this place friendly. I needed my food take away because of my plans, the helpful staff foil wrapped it, which was fine. Quite quickly, considering it's freshly made food and they were pretty busy at the time.

We're four siblings. Our grandfather was Burstall vicar in the 1920s & we dropped in on our 2024 canal walk. Woman brought her wet dog in & fellow placed a don't slip sign over the drips. Lovely passive aggression!

We are a group of ex work mates who get together approximately once a month. Had a few meals since Lockdown at the Whitehorse. Always been fabulous food and service. Had a Christmas meal in December that was absolutely amazing, so decided to have a January meal which we did tonight. Once again food was amazing and the service and staff great. Thank you all.

My partner and I ordered the lamb roast dinner, the 3 meat roast dinner with pigs in blankets and mash (and 2 coffees). The best items were the Yorkshire puddings (great size, soft and crunchy, freshly homemade) and pigs in blankets (good size, tasty, salty). The items that can do with improvement are "roast potatoes" (we both received 2 fried potatoes and 1 boiled potato which we were disappointed with because the menu clearly said roast potatoes), mash potatoes (very crumbly, not creamy like it should be, requires more milk and butter), vegetable medley (we were disappointed that roast carrots didn't come as standard and you have to pay extra for them). Overall, for the price we paid (£45) we would expect better. We expressed that we were unsatisfied with the meal to a waiter but weren't asked why and emailed the white horse but received no reply, so I'm writing a review in the hopes that they will improve their customer experience.

We had a large group booking, generally very good experience.

I wanted to spend a romantic evening with my husband, but initially, we were offered shabby benches near the entrance. When we asked for a different table, we were placed right next to the restroom despite the pub being completely empty. It kind of spoiled the mood for me. Besides this one hiccup, the food was quite good and it was nicely presented.

Good atmosphere, plenty of parking space, the food was a mixed bag for us. The starters were great, mains and deserts for half of us was good - the other half was ok. Overall not a bad place. Would like to try it again when it’s not too busy as it was packed when we went.

Sunday lunch was delicious and plentiful, staff very attentive, offered extra veg. Good decorative order, clean toilets. Good location, larhe beer garden, parking available. We will be back.

A fantastic open house situated right by the river soar with a pleasant bright green sunny beer garden. I visited this pub whilst on a bike ride with my partner. The selection of beers, ales, and ciders were very impressive, the cakes also looked fantastic , will certainly visit again.

We bike along the canal all the time, we stop at this pub everytime before we bike back home. This pub is situated right on the canal, which also looks over Watermead Park. The staff are always very friendly, great choice of drinks and their food is amazing. Nice big beer garden with a kids play area. Would definitely recommend
