Haven't been here in years. Only popped in for coffee & cake after a walk, but really enjoyed it.

Always friendly and busy. great pub. All welcome. Haven't eaten there yet but food looks lush

Went there with friends and the kids. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A big list of beverages and brillant range of food which was lovely. 5* plus

Bring out the drinks is slow but the service is good and staff are friendly. The hearters haven't worked the part few times I've been there. Food was ok The inside of the pub is lovely nice and the fire place is nice.

We keep returning! It's in a lovely spot, the staff are extremely friendly and the food is always good. So, that's why we are so glad we found it and will keep returning. Thank you all.

Good quality place but not pretentious at all. A bit higher than my normal price range. Dog owners will find this place friendly. I needed my food take away because of my plans, the helpful staff foil wrapped it, which was fine. Quite quickly, considering it's freshly made food and they were pretty busy at the time.

No food this time, but great venue and lovely atmosphere.

Great pub, fantastic staff good relaxed atmosphere, good food, if you haven't tried one of their focaccia selection would extremely recommend, very very tasty, lunch time only, over all the owners are beautiful people. The chips😋

Lovely pub homely and welcoming. The foods nice as are the staff and it's dog friendly too. At the back down the slope you can take the bridge over to watermede Park follow the path it's a circular walk with benches to help those who need a rest then back to the pub for another drink. Nice garden for outside eating too. You may need to book for meals weekends.

Fabulous service and food. Had a 90th birthday party and the staff (especially the manager) were great. All really friendly and nothing was too much effort. Many thanks. Ps. Food and drink were great too.

We're four siblings. Our grandfather was Burstall vicar in the 1920s & we dropped in on our 2024 canal walk. Woman brought her wet dog in & fellow placed a don't slip sign over the drips. Lovely passive aggression!

Best pub lunch we've had for a long time. Food well cooked and all fresh and excellent quality. Lovely beer - not too cold! Friendly and efficient landlord and waiting staff.

Great place to have a meal and drink and start or end a walk around Watermead Country Park.

We are a group of ex work mates who get together approximately once a month. Had a few meals since Lockdown at the Whitehorse. Always been fabulous food and service. Had a Christmas meal in December that was absolutely amazing, so decided to have a January meal which we did tonight. Once again food was amazing and the service and staff great. Thank you all.

Beef served well done not pink as advertised. Good service but the food didn’t meet expectations

My partner and I ordered the lamb roast dinner, the 3 meat roast dinner with pigs in blankets and mash (and 2 coffees). The best items were the Yorkshire puddings (great size, soft and crunchy, freshly homemade) and pigs in blankets (good size, tasty, salty). The items that can do with improvement are "roast potatoes" (we both received 2 fried potatoes and 1 boiled potato which we were disappointed with because the menu clearly said roast potatoes), mash potatoes (very crumbly, not creamy like it should be, requires more milk and butter), vegetable medley (we were disappointed that roast carrots didn't come as standard and you have to pay extra for them). Overall, for the price we paid (£45) we would expect better. We expressed that we were unsatisfied with the meal to a waiter but weren't asked why and emailed the white horse but received no reply, so I'm writing a review in the hopes that they will improve their customer experience.

We had a large group booking, generally very good experience.

I wanted to spend a romantic evening with my husband, but initially, we were offered shabby benches near the entrance. When we asked for a different table, we were placed right next to the restroom despite the pub being completely empty. It kind of spoiled the mood for me. Besides this one hiccup, the food was quite good and it was nicely presented.

Good atmosphere, plenty of parking space, the food was a mixed bag for us. The starters were great, mains and deserts for half of us was good - the other half was ok. Overall not a bad place. Would like to try it again when it’s not too busy as it was packed when we went.

Welcoming bar staff. Good range of drinks. Tidy inside and out.

Sunday lunch was delicious and plentiful, staff very attentive, offered extra veg. Good decorative order, clean toilets. Good location, larhe beer garden, parking available. We will be back.

Chill place to go out! Near the river, the back side is a really good place when it is sunny

Stopped for lunch on a cycle ride with friends. Was quite busy so we had to wait but the food and beer was good. Tables inside and out, good prices.

Really lovely pub/restaurant with a great outdoor area. Great walking route surrounding it too. A meat eater, a vegetarian and 2 vegans all very happy with our food :) Also dog friendly. Highly recommend

A fantastic open house situated right by the river soar with a pleasant bright green sunny beer garden. I visited this pub whilst on a bike ride with my partner. The selection of beers, ales, and ciders were very impressive, the cakes also looked fantastic , will certainly visit again.

We bike along the canal all the time, we stop at this pub everytime before we bike back home. This pub is situated right on the canal, which also looks over Watermead Park. The staff are always very friendly, great choice of drinks and their food is amazing. Nice big beer garden with a kids play area. Would definitely recommend

Came here for Sunday lunch for the first time, will never return again. We got 2 trios and cauli cheese, costing £43.50. The yorkshires tasted refrigerated, meat very tough, vergetables not very nice, cauli cheese had more milk then anything else. Whole meal very dry. No table checks were made. Will not be returning.

Great place on a sunny afternoon and cosy with the fireplace in winter. I do wish they'd change the menu up sometimes as its always the same, although they do have some really nice specials on offer. I was disappointed at the price of their salad, £13 when you can get a very large sandwich for half that!

Service and food amazing! Highly recommend one of the best pub food experiences I have had in a long while we walked in not pre booking and asked for a table for 7. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. I had Brie and beetroot tart. Absolutely gorgeous!

Lovely Riverside pub with nice outdoor space,food was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit limited and entrance into the road where pub is located can be awkward if cars are parked near it.

We are travelling on the canal and called in for dinner. The staff were very attentive, the food was delicious and the atmosphere lovely. Our dog was also welcomed. Had an enjoyable evening and will be calling here again next time by car from Nottingham. Would definitely highly recommend.

Is a lovely Riverside pub.. was very busy due to the annual duck race (yellow bath ducks not real ones).. great food and drinks.. i can imagine outdoor seating on sunny day is bliss..but not on the day I went..tooo busy..

Was recommended to go to this pub by the hotel staff at the Ibis hotel and it was awesome .. the food was really nice! Great atmosphere in the pub, very busy .. plus the staff were super friendly .. thanks to the manager for putting up with our banter! 🤣
