Visited today after a 6.5 mile walk. The lady in charge was very polite and welcoming. We sat in the large outside garden in beautiful sunshine. After a refreshing drink we ordered a fish, chips and garden peas and a Mushroom Bougignoine ( can’t spell it) pie, chips and peas. It was the best bit of fish I’ve ever had, meal was hot and fresh, no grease, quick service and excellent value at £12.99 for the two meals ( we would have happily paid that for each meal as it was worth it but what a bargain for such nice meals. We will be back but we are bringing a walking group of up to 20 people, they will love it 😊

It's a bit grotty but adds to the "local charm" asthetic it's going for. If your into reggae, hip hop and don't conform the social norms when outside of your office job for a faceless corporation, this is right up your alley. People are lovely hear, play area for kids and cheap drinks. They also do food but I've never eaten here so can't give it a rating but it looks nice

Excellent evening meal with friends . Service was attentive but not intrusive. Can highly recommend it the half lobster and rocket salad with skinny fries , paired very well with a bottle of Sancerre . One of favourite places to spend an evening

Avoid this place at all costs was due to go and watch a jersey boys tribute act that my mate came from Chesterfield especially to watch only to be told when we got to the door we weren't allowed in as they changed the rules for entering at the last minute even though they had advertised on their website we could pay on the door . This spoilt our night and the manager wouldn't even come to explain why . Total disgrace

Attended with colleagues on a Friday morning for a quick breakfast. The food was a mix of very cold to luke warm. It was well below the standard I expected. I did complain, the guy was not particularly interested until I laboured the point that I come to eat hot food and the fact that it is cheap doesn’t detract from that. He then offered me a refund which I declined as I can’t be doing with the faff. It’s frustrating that younger staff don’t understand good customer service- the very basics of ‘the customer is always right’ in additional to the fact that customers don’t care if you’re busy- they just want food to be speedy and hot. Very disappointed indeed. Totally unnecessary of staff to not appreciate the need to give hot food to a paying customer.

The lamb was just grizzle and inedible the service incredible slow.Nobody came to ask if the meal was ok, which it wasn’t . £22 for rump lamb which was inedible, they deducted £ 5. 70 for the lamb so £17.00 for potatoes and one carrot which was dried under a heat lamp.there was ment to be kale in the plate as walk but the so called chef decided it wasn’t needed. Stay well clear it’s not even second rate at best and charge over £10 pounds for a glass of wine and nearly £6 for a pint of beer. Very high prices because there on the canal location with 1 star everything
