Club Tropicana in East Lindsey

I have some very bad news for you!! I knew that the Trop will be imploded on October 9, 2024 at 2:30 AM, very early in the morning. I heard that the implosion date changed twice, initially it was October 2 at 2 AM, then changed to October 8, also at 2 AM. Then it changed once again to the final date! Prior to the implosion, there will be fireworks and a drone show. On April 2, 2024 (right after April Fools' Day), the Trop closes its doors for good (not an April Fools joke) at noon, 2 days before its 67th anniversary. I know the Trop was a 67 year old hotel. The Trop is the third oldest casino on the Strip and also one of the few remaining casinos during the city's mob era. The Trop is my favorite hotel. Before the implosion, the demo crew took about 5 months to dismantle the hotel, leaving the towers' frames behind for implosion. The reason why the Trop is getting demolished because they wanted to build a new $1.5 billion Major League Baseball stadium that will be the new home of the Oakland Athletics. Construction of the stadium will begin sometime in April 2025, one year later after closure and it will be completed by sometime in 2028, just in time for the 2028 season. Before the construction, you will just see an empty lot where the Trop used to stand. If you like the Trop like me, you will think something is missing, "Hey, where did the Trop go? This doesn't feel right at all!" I have also heard that a new Bally's will be built along with the stadium. Why do they wanted to build another stadium, at this location by destroying the Trop, just why out of anything. They should build that stadium in an empty lot or something instead of destroying the Trop. We stayed at the Trop for 2 nights, right after Christmas Day in 2022, not knowing the hotel will get demolished 2 years later. Before we went to Vegas, we stayed in Los Angeles for 2 nights. We left LA at 11 AM, making our way to Vegas. It supposed to take about 4 hours to drive to Vegas from LA, but there was a very bad traffic jam, lasting into the night time. We got stuck in traffic for many many hours, before getting to Vegas. We even tried to bypass the traffic by exiting random roads and finding our way back to the freeway. At 11 PM, late at night, we have arrived in Vegas, checking in to the Trop very late! Our parking spot every time was in front of the bungalows. The doors that leads right into the bungalows are key carded, so we had entered through the front entrance the first night and check in. We stayed in the winter, so that the pool is closed. It was very sad that we did not experience the pool area at all, that this was our only time visiting and staying at the Trop. We are very lucky that we picked the Trop as the hotel we would stayed at. I am very sorry to see the Trop go! Farewell, Tropicana! I will miss you a lot!😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I just wanted to see what they are building in the land where the Trop stood in the years coming! I really wanted to know!

Why is everyone saying it's closed? The West Wing is still open for those wanting their final taste of nostalgia before being torn down to be replaced by a stupid and an unnecessary baseball stadium. how's baseball even considered a sport? ...And those darn hidden resort fees :(

Ladies / Single mums BE CAREFUL the owner/manager of club tropicana is absolutely vile raises his voice threatens you and quite frankly is a disgrace of a human and most certainly not a gentleman.

It's closed there no longer is anything.

One of the best old-school buffet experiences still left on the strip.

Stayed onsite for the weekend. The club house had great comfy seating plus an area specifically for over 18's. Plenty of staff to serve behind the bar. No long queues. Couldn't fault the entertainment. Especially The Rocketman (Elton John tribute) otherwise known as Jimmy Love. This was the Saturday night entertainment and I have to say not only was it the best night but he has to be the best Elton tribute I have ever seen. I really hope they have him back. I would definitely go

we visited before the demo. love how you can park and walk into the casino in seconds. instead of taking a parking elevator. and driving thru the modern mouse trap parking garages. this casino is a living legend. things change though. they just do. there's no point in getting mad about it. just enjoy it. can only imagine the parties they had back in the day.

As a native Las Vegan, it saddens me to lose another beautiful hotel/ casino to make room for another losing California team. Thank you to all of the amazing dealers, bartenders, cocktail servers, bussers, housekeepers etc. who made the Tropicana a legendary place.

Super sad that the Tropicana is closing after nearly 70 years! Cool vibe, experience, and the ceiling art is spectacular. Was glad to check it out before it was gone.

It was great, it was the last night it was closing down, I remember going there when I was young with my mom seeing all of the birds around the property, all of the people that worked there were great and very nice

Stopped in 2 days before it closed. I've never been to the Tropicana but it was a very nice Casino. Very clean and surprisingly modern. It's sad to know such a beautiful Casino is closing/ being destroyed but that's progress I guess

Had to go play a hand of Blackjack to say I'd darkened Tropicana's doors at least once before it closes on Tuesday. Doubled my money, but couldn't bring myself to cash in the second chip. Guess it's a relic now. I'll always look back upon this place fondly.

Sad to this iconic place go for a baseball stadium on the busiest street in Las Vegas. I hope I'm wrong but it seems like a really really bad idea. Not the idea of getting a the team but putting it where the iconic Tropicana hotel is.

I asked for wheelchair accomodations at the bell desk. The man saw my father a Vietnam war veteran with a legal disability accommodation Veteran ID and legal government ID. He said "he walked here normally he doesn't need it, just take the elevator" I'm confused how anyone can treat someone who served this country can refuse someone with a legal government disability ID like this ? Because you saw him walk inside hotel fine as if his injuries won't affect him within the hour ? Why would this hotel treat anyone that way ? The bathrooms are run down, rooms run down. And the service obviously horrible

Awful place. Play area staff are the rudest most arrogant people I’ve ever encountered in all my life. Made my 9 year old sit on the floor outside because apparently it’s the rules that they can’t sit in side with there parents watching there youngest sister in the play area. All very rude didn’t speak to the children with much manners either. If you don’t like your job don’t do it. Absolutely awful place shall not be returning.

Stopped in so my sister could visit before it closes.

This was my last time inside the iconic tropicana before it officially closes its doors. As you might imagine there were very few guests on the gaming floor and even fewer dining. There are plenty of visual signs that the hotel will be closing soon from equipment stacked on tables to non-operational slot machines. It’s hard to imagine that this site will be the future home to a baseball stadium. To all the staff who are and/or have worked at the Tropicana over the years, I wish you all the best. My (5) stars represents the many years this establishment served visitors from around the world as well as those locals who were frequent guests.

Spent the day there, remembering times my wife and I would go there to gamble. Sad to see it closing.

Rude dealer. I was watching and encouraged by some people playing to take part even though I insisted that I wasn't experienced playing at a table. They said it was fine. I was extremely anxious and unsure but they were polite The dealer, however, was extremely rude, kept rushing me, wouldn't explain the new rules I wasn't experienced with and when I tried to fold at the beginning of the game, he ignored me and made me stay in the game so I'd lost money. The players kept trying to explain to me what was different from online games but the dealer kept moving things along and not giving me a chance. This was late at night where it wasn't that busy. I really hope that dealer is out of a job when they demolish the place if he can't even help a beginner

Stayed there on St. Patrick's Day since I know it's gonna be gone. Sad that another iconic Vegas casino will be gone. The building is definitely in disrepair and was sad to see everything closed and blocked off. Loved the view of the airport - 1/19 runways and Henderson.

I went to meet and “say goodbye”, it is obvious that they stopped maintaining it a long time ago, a place that was perhaps very attractive, today it has fallen into disrepair although it continues to function.

Stopped by the Tropicana a few days before they close their doors forever. Picked up a $5 chip for keepsakes and nostalgia purposes.

Lived here along time. Wanted to visit one of the last original resorts before they tore it down.

Came to have a look before the Trop is closed for demolition.

We stayed here for four nights and found the location excellent. There was also enough parking space. The room, on the other hand, was really rocky.

We stayed at the Tropicana for just one night back in October '23, on Halloween weekend. And honestly, our stay wasn't bad at all. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Check-In took a while, but that's what you get for coming here on a Saturday. There's not many food options, but since you are located directly on the strip, getting food shouldn't be a problem for anyone. The MGM Grand f.e. is located on the other side of the street and has tons of options. The downsides of our stay were the very unmotivated staff (but to be fair, I would be too if my workplace was set to be demolished..), the rather rundown & ugly exterior / interior, and a leaking bathtub in our room. However for the price we paid, this is something you can disregard. All-in all, this might not be the best choice of hotel, but it's definitely not the worst either. Goodbye, Tropicana.

Unfortunately this will be closing down shortly in anticipation of a new baseball stadium being built in its place. I spent many a fun night in this old casino. Definitely has seen better days, but it still has character that is missing in more sterile, newer casinos.

Untrustworthy people on the front desk. Having left a gift for a shortly arriving relative, said gift had 'disappeared' a few hours later, then reappeared when pressed, with a few things missing. I get that the place is being demolished and the staff don't care anymore, but it doesn't detract from the fact it's shameful and just plain theft.

Unfortunately the Tropicana will be closing forever in about 1-2 weeks. It will then be demolished to make room for the new A's baseball stadium.

Because they are closing they have forgotten about what customer service is. I was getting some chips from a poker dealer and he screwed me out of $5. I told myself I was not going to worry about it, but it is burning in my brain...bigtime!!!!!! Also you pay a resort fee but the pool area is closed and unkept. Not a great experience!!!!!

Not the Tropicana I remember, but probably why they are closing April 2nd... I believe there are talks about a new arena in its place. I must say the service by the skeleton crew left behind was great! There just wasn't enough to meet the demand.

Going to be so sad to see this go. This was the go to pool and hotel of my childhood. It's rather run down outside now but the inside is still awesome. Would be great to keep the stained glass area at whatever they build there instead. They should buy the oyo next door as well when they do a full remodel of the grounds.

I got married here 5 years ago. Very sad it's closing down! We went to take some pictures of us when we renewed our vows. The staff was very friendly but sad. Happy I got to pay my respects to a legend on the strip.

This hotel is going to be taken down in a few days and it was still a great sleep. Not the fanciest but a good sleep. Was only there for 7 hours. Didn’t do anything except sleep.

Stayed in the Trop for the last time. It was a bit of a nostalgia stay for me, since I have been staying here for 20 years. Several reviews describe poor conditions or experience. Mine was great. Check in service was great, dealers were friendly, room was very clean. For the price, and location, it was the best option. True the parking garage is a bit of a walk. But so is every other resort, just through the casino instead of around the side of the building.

They know they are closing down, so don't expect much. Exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work. They cleaned the rooms only 1 day out of our 3 day stay. Pool is closed for good.

It was our anniversary, we were stuck on the elevator not one but 7 times. Not only were we at the mercy of their security to try and resolve the issue we had no results. We are ones within the industry, and know the ins and outs of Hilton. Beyond us and our enduvers we were more concerned about the safety of others. Aside from that, the fact that they could not do anything about our anniversary, even a simple card was a bit disconcerting. As a FOH manager myself this was a bit unacceptable. I was light on the issue since I know that management can only do whatever higher management can provide. I can say we won't be visiting again and even though it might sting, I think it's for the good that this location be demolished for something new. I thought our last visit here ever would be worth while but was proven not. I do appreciate the full refund however our safety is priceless and worth more then that and hope that the hotel as a whole and a brand can make up for this!! I am sad to say that the Rio did everything and more for us. Not only did they show is love, care and respect, the also upgraded us to the penthouse suite for our anniversary, and a a very much cheaper rate, almost 300 dollars cheaper. If the Tropicana were still going to be around longer, I would have suggested that they step their game up. Lastly their online advertisements were way off and for the remainder of their existence, they need to be truthful about half of there hotel being shut down, the lack of engineering competence, and their pool and amenities being unavailable. I called many times just to receive little to no information or just being hung up on over the phone. We had to travel 6 hours with a hope and a dream, hoping that we would get half of what we wished for-for our anniversary. I am disappointed! Farewell Tropicana.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is about to close down at the end of the month. Had I known most most amenities would be closed I would not have booked here. The pool is closed, most restaurants closed,cafe closed, no Valet closed. The phone in the room didn’t function properly, it just kept ringing and ringing. I had to use my cell to reach front desk. Ghost town feel really creepy. Very minimal staff. When I contacted the hotel today for resort fee refunds, they refused stating resort fee is for free internet and free self parking. I booked through Expedia and reached out to them during my stay and they requested a full refund from the hotel but the hotel declined. The person I spoke with today basically told me pool isn’t an amenity and I should’ve called to see if pool was open. Website states it’s open March -Oct. save yourself money and grief

Went in to see the Tropicana Hotel Casino before gets demolished. We ate at Public House Rest.(Robert Irvine's) was pretty casual. Prices not too bad. I'd say 20$ per person average for meal. Not including drinks lol. The pool area was sad to see it abandoned & not really cared for. The grass areas were very overgrown & not groomed outside area like used to be. Yes it was obvious they were ready to say Goodbye to the Hotel. Sad to see it go, built in 1957. Historic for Vegas area!!

Everything was great until the ghost of Rodney Dangerfield haunted my room.

It's been a long time since my first visit, so we stayed a few nights and enjoyed. Even the slots let us play for hours and drinks were good!

It is sad to see yet another piece of old nostalgic vegas disappear for good. Will miss this smaller hotel that was always a stop on our trips here. The reasonable cost for shows and great location was always a plus.

We went here for the MJ Live performance which was amazing, btw. We didn't stay here.

Visited Tropicana from Australia. Please PLEASE save your money and your health, stay somewhere else. We were there for 3 days, no maid visit even after requesting towels and sheets on the middle day. But had a nice early wake up from a maid at 5am the next morning. The bathrooms have no ventilation, the wallpaper is peeling off. And there is black mould growing. You pay a hefty resort fee but the pool is out of action and 1 of 4 elevators work. We were “blessed” with a refund of 1 nights stay, just save yourself the hassle and money. Do not recommend.

Wanted to see this place before it’s gone. Visited March 2023. Worn down in certain areas. Lobby is basic. There is no photo opportunities at all.

Tropicana Las Vegas Hilton Double Tree Wow- this is the dirtiest resort I have ever stayed in. I had no idea that it’s being Imploded April 2 to make way for a Baseball Field. Knowing that I would have picked another location. It’s clear that they have stopped the normal care of the facility. It’s literally dirty everywhere. Perhaps the only thing clean are the towels and sheets. No plug for the tub, the water in the sink takes forever to drain. Dirty carpet , dirty doors, tops of the fire extinguisher cases are dirty, edges are dirty …etc etc etc I staid in a corner suite and expected the picture in the website. While it might be the same furniture the pictures don’t show the hotels current condition. Dilapidated , run down and not cared for. It was very windy today and the walls are actually shaking and the wind is screeching. You can feel the wind actually coming through the window sills. See pictures

What a dump! Worn, broken and tatty. No hot water in the room, no tea/coffee facilities, no heating, no sound proofing … zero service. Booked room is not available and had to pay more to get a non smoking room (as booked). Shocked the Hilton name is associated with this place. Run away!

Such an awful experience. 1. First room’s air didn’t work 2. Second room’s air only worked SOMETIMES. 3. Shower didn’t get hot. 4. The biggest benefit of the resort fee (discounted Glow Spa services) is up to the spa’s discretion. Guess what…we couldn’t use it. 5. Only two outlets worked. One in the bathroom and the other in the corner of the bedroom. No one cared.

The casino will be closing in just a few weeks. it seems like most of the employees have tapped out. Rooms were not good. The only thing that made it worth it was a female dealer with short gray hair from Romainia. Adrianna made us laugh for hrs. Noah Opt.

Rooms are very aged and yellowed with the smell of cigarette smoke. Paint peeling and wallpaper falling off. Would not stay here again.
