I went on a very quiet evening, so no queue, so cannot judge the atmosphere but the staff were super friendly and had a nice chat. However, unfortunately that's the positives over. The fish was small, dry, still had skin on one side (not something I like personally and it is possible to not have) and the tail so thin that it was ultimately just eating batter at the end. And I wasn't a fan of the batter. The chips were not that well cooked I thought and the mushy peas were sadly far far far too runny for my liking. Two spoonfuls and then I didn't have any more. Not one I'm likely to return to, sadly.

Friendly staff. Welcoming too. Great food. I had cod roe which I haven't had for years. Hubby had haddock. Nicely cooked . Plentiful chips. So many didn't think I would finish but I did . Thumbs up for Salts. Will definitely be using again.

What's the point of being on Just Eat when you don't even accept orders half the time. If you can't provide a consistent service on there don't be on Just Eat

Lovely food always hot and service brilliant

Visited Friday afternoon had fish and chips and sat outside as it had stopped drizzling , food absolutely superb ,so we decided to pop in again Saturday evening but to eat inside as the weather was atrocious.dining room was empty but we enquired and was told it closes at 7pm (it was 7:04 pm ) although chippy itself remains open until 9pm , we left very disappointed, and still hungry as having a takeaway option was not viable , shame because food here is lush , the staff on Friday were very friendly , however different staff on Saturday and not as pleasant .

Arrived into Skegness at around 9pm and fancied fish and chips. Salts appeared on our route and looked inviting. I had some of the best fish and chips that I've enjoyed in years. Everything cooked to perfection. I had to go back and thank them! It was that good.

Great chippy. Very tasty. Friendly service. Eat in or takeaway. The restaurant for eating in is very nice. Open all day every day (including Sundays). And reasonable value. Very highly recommended

Very nice food, the service was friendly and prompt although I did have to wait for it to be cooked. The upside to this was the meal was fresh and piping hot. We didn't go in the restaurant, so comment on the atmosphere

Beautiful fish and chips, worth every penny. Very clean shop and great menu to choose from. I make a beeline for this chippy in Skegness although it's not on the main thoroughfare, it's well worth the effort and the food and staff are just great. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

If you want the best ever fish and chips then if your in the area this is the place. The haddock was sizeable and a generous portion of chips the same with my husbands fishcake ,chips and mushy peas. Everything was still red hot after our drive to the front. I cant believe how cheap this meal was as I would of paid at least another £7 at my local (which I have stopped visiting as food not great). Went on Sunday evening and restaurant part closed but that didnt matter. We were greeted by Frank the fryer who was so nice, sense of humour and without asking drew us a map to drive to the seafront. McCauley then took and made our order up and was one of the most pleasant teenagers I had come across his mother should be very proud. Ann in the background not been distracted from the excellent cleaning as the place was spotless. I recommend this place to anyone who likes excellent fish and chips at a very reasonable price.

This was the worst fish & chips I have ever eaten, well, most of it went in the bin. The fish was so greasy the batter shone! The fish was the thinest I have ever seen and was revolting. The mushy peas tasted funny and the chips were soggy, best part was the cold can of vimto! Can’t say the lady serving made us feel welcome either Plus was you could park outside or in the car park. Would not recommend this to anyone. Almost £42 spent, really disappointed.

Really enjoyed it, but suspect fish had been cooked a while. Still very nice and will visit again.

Big fat white chips, asked for Cod and it came with skin on and looked like a stickleback, asked if they had tater sauce and the woman said it was 10p a sache so gave that a miss and ordered beans which were very dark and curry sauce which tasted peculiar, to top it off I asked for lots of vinegar but they don’t trust you to put your own on and gave you what tasted like the weakest vinegar I’ve ever had. Do not go

Visited this chip shop as it is on the way to Butlin’s. Positives: - very quick and friendly service. Chips were ok, peas ok and curry sauce excellent. Negatives: Battered sausage full of fatty chunks. Fish (asked for cod) tasted strange and didn’t have the appearance of flakes of cod. Not sure what fish they are using but it is awful and others have said the same if you read the reviews. Would not recommend despite the chips and curry sauce being good.

I returned to Skegness the other day as transportvfor a relative so just a few hours stay.Have always visited Salts usually excellent Staff always pleasant. but Saturday 25th August approx 9pm.we had fish and chips and a cheese&Onion fry it. Chips and fry ut were lovely but sadly, the fish was poor batter undercooked and closest to fish it was wet not crispy so it ended up getting binned. We would have taken it back but we're in a rush to get home approx 70miles. I hope this was a one off and staff should have had the opportunity to correct the problem .

Absolutely disgusting... ordered our food on entering , at least 6/8 in front so should have been ready by the time it was our turn .. but no! hadn't even been cooked , and then told we hadnt ordered when the guy actually repeated what we had ordered ,so had to stand their waiting . This isn't the first time it's been done it's now the 2nd . Won't be back

Lovely service , very friendly and chatty . Unfortunately they dont do small fish and the fish was big so went for scampi , chips , peas and curry sauce . Couldnt finish as was plenty . Sister had the fish and plenty left fir the dogs . Chips was tasty and not anaemic looking . Would highly recommend.

Looking for chip shop on way home from skegness. Really nice shop decor & nice customer seating out the back. Received food looking fwd to it, cheese burger came (no salad or onions avalible) butter very poor quailty made burger taste bad, had to leave it. Chips very good, battered sausage again poor quailty. Shame as overall shop very good & staff friendly but bad quality ingredients bring it down.

We had a long day so we decided to stop at Salts for takeout, it was a calm and chill atmosphere with plenty of options. You can also dine in if you want to. The staff are friendly and polite, the takeaway packaging was good, parking available right next to the shop is easy and adequate. Prices are decent and fair. The food itself was one fantastic quality, the fish, chips and sausages were clicked to perfection which a lovely crispness on the batter.

So we stumbled upon this fish and chip shop on the way through back to our caravan. The food itself was good, no complaints for the kids or husband and they said it was extremely tasty! The lady behind the counter however needs to have a course in customer service as she was so rude and even rolled her eyes at my husband when he ordered the food! Why be in a job that is face to face if you don’t want to deal with the public? She was so rude! So because of that we wouldn’t go back, which is a shame as the food was good.

Delicious chips and peas, prices very reasonable by today's standards, recommended if in the Skegness area.

Have been to this chippy before and was not happy with the awful rubbish they gave me but I thought I'd give them another go thinking it couldn't be that bad again guess what it was worst than last time they just can't get it right and doing it up hasn't helped you can't polish a turd

Due to location, we ordered from here two days on the trot which wasnt my idea, both times we were given Haddock instead of Cod, as was specifically requested. They seem to think their customers are idiots.

it's always been a nice chip shop but the fish have gone very thin & small

Started off with the service, lady with glasses miserable and it went down hill from there. Chips like warm and greasy, fish still skin on and poorly battered… the gravy I’m sure is just gravy granules and hot water, far too watery. A couple of years back this was a great chippy but would not go back now.

Not the best fish and chips I've ever had, that trophy goes to Andy's in Johnstone, but out of almost 70 contenders, Salts definitely makes the top ten.

Walked off Skegness sea front in search of what I would call a proper Chip shop and found it at Salts fish and chip shop. Great food and taste just how it should.

We visited Salts as a second choice as our first choice (Linga Longa - which we've also never been too) was shut, even though they stated they were open and oh my goodness. Thank God they were shut. This chippy was amazing! The service was fast and very polite, reasonably priced seaside fish and chips for really good quality food. We drove back to Butlins and the food was still hot when we we arrived back to the apartment. The piece of cod was delicious and three times the size of the piece I got from the on site chip shop the night before. Save your troubles in finding a restaurant, and just go here!👌🏻 UPDATE: Still amazing

Had a cod and large chips with curry sauce for takeaway which came to £10.90. The food was hot and freshly made and one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The chips were not ready so had to wait a while they cooked which meant overall the service was slow, though when they were ready my order was completed quickly. Staff were good and friendly although not too enthusiastic. Atmosphere was standard for a fish and chip shop. Shop overall was very clean, tidy, minimal in decor which reflected the quality of the fish and chips.

Limited kids menu ...no fish bites just chicken nuggets or sausages Fish was a slight grey colour and the batter was unusual.. not very impressed... The mushy peas were lovely though !

Visited here just as they were about to close so limited choice understandably. Food that I had was lovely and well priced.

Overall food was great service was excellent, i just prefer my chips cooked a bit longer.

We came by Salts by chance. Parking was easy so decided to give then a try. We were pleased we did we sat inside as it was bitterly cold. Cod and Chips were cooked to order and were delicious. The restaurant was very clean and pleasantly decorated and the staff very friendly.
