Had lunch here, we were a little early but had a good welcome and soon served with coffees. The menu promised good pub grub. The fish dishes were excellent, but my lasagne was dry and very burnt at the edges. Unfortunately, the puddings did not quite hit the spot, my warmed lemon tart was cold and hard, raspberry sorbet was very good. The fruit crumble was more crumble with little fruit. The service was excellent as were the facilities.

Title of great British pub of the year is well deserved. Wide variety of food to suit all palettes. Dishes are a culinary delight using locally sourced fruit and vegetables (we saw produce being delivered). Service was excellent and staff were very friendly. Even if you aren't local, diverting to the Tollmache Arms is definitely worth it. You won't regret it.

Booked for a 60th birthday meal with 17 family members. Service, quality of food and drink and staff were all outstanding! I don’t normally leave reviews however we felt we must recommend. Prior to booking we emailed our meal choices to the venue due to the number of us. Communication from The Peacock was excellent, emailing back to clarify on how certain dishes were to be prepared such as the steaks etc. Everything was very smooth, all meals came out together, everything tasted delicious and portions good! Staff members were very attentive, no one ever waited for extra drinks, cutlery, sauces etc. Overall an enjoyable night and we said we will return in future. Thank you ‘The Peacock’ for a making my dads 60th fab!

My local and has always been a nice pub that always historically went above and beyond on service. Though popped in last Thursday for birthday drinks with a group of 7 and the two non drinking members asked for tea/hot drinks. We were told there was no hot drinks machine. Also told there wasn't even a kettle for a simple tea/coffee. Disappointing but not deterred we left and popped down to the windhover and did about 5rounds there as they were able to cater for all drinks both alcoholic and otherwise. Normally favour smaller more homely pubs and sometimes drinks machines breaking can't be helped but think I've just switched pub allegiances as it just didn't seem like they were bothered.

I originally reviewed this pub as a 5 star however after a dismal breakfast today I needed to down grade it. Me & my husband ordered shashuka- which was cold when served. I spoke to waitress who apologised & took it back to which it was returned on same plate ( I had cut a piece of egg & left on side as was slimey- I'd asked for well done eggs as can't eat under cooked eggs) decided to raise my concerns with " duty mananger" who stood with his arms crossed & seemed dis-interested in my comments-he also stated that all meals were served on spec. Interesting feedback. The family on the next table also had issue with their breakfast being served cold & informed us as they left they got a full refund- we just wanted a sincere apology... we have been visiting this pub weekly for the last 15 years. We have reported this to head office.
