Had a lovely carvery. Staff very nice and helpful.

Was very busy with being Christmas but the staff were amazing and made sure everything was all good. Leah and Kerry kept coming up and checking everything was ok. Food was lovely and table had been laid well to celebrate a Christmas meal with family and friends

Went for the 1st time today, all staff were working well together and constantly moving around doing things and being productive. Mostly though, I recognized that they were all very cheerful and nothing seems too much trouble regardless of how busy it was. The food was great with good range of options, the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. I've travelled past here from Lincolnshire to Staffordshire for over 30 years and have only just visited, which is a shame as it's a lovely place. staff Charlie, Zach, Kerry and Aisha were lovely and made the place that little bit more welcoming than most places. Will definitely call again and would definitely recommend. (Don't know where you got your staff from but they were fabulous) Usually good management creates a happy workforce from my experience

We have just had a lovely meal with the family for Xmas at the muston gap all the staff where helpful, cheerful and working really hard and efficiently as it was very busy, lovely place to go with all the family thanks for making a lovely experience for us see you again :))

The worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Reserved a table online only to find the place half empty and left to find yourself a seat. Ordered on the app to save time. Drinks came quickly and waitress was friendly. However lots of staff mucking about- chefs wandering aimlessly and taking the mick out of each other which is fine, but it made you feel a bit uncomfortable and there is no customer awareness. After over 40 mins of waiting for a chicken parm I asked the waitress to check on it for us. She appeared 30 seconds later with a scorching hot bowl of overcooked, dry stuff that had clearly been forgotten about. My other half went up to get his carvery option and wished he hadn’t bothered. The turkey was so overcooked it was powdery dry, seriously salty gammon, brussel sprouts that were like bullets. If I’d thought raising the issue with a staff member would’ve made any difference, I would’ve. But to be honest the place seems like it’s run by a bunch of kids, and the chefs clearly spend more time mucking about than doing any kind of cooking. We were also starving by the time we got our food and couldn’t be bothered to argue- not that there was anyone to complain to as it was virtually self service! Maybe we caught them on a bad day- after all a Friday night is hardly peak time. But to be honest I wouldn’t run the risk of giving it another go.

The staff at the gap kindly accommodated 30 of my care home residents at very short notice for a Christmas party. One of the staff, Kerry, was extremely helpful with helping me more table and chairs around, looking after myself and my residents and being at our beck and call for everything. Zak was another server who was prompt and kind when helping us with anything we needed. Charlotte, another server, was amazing with helping us with everything. Truly amazing service and the food was delicious.

Great place to pop in and have a bite to eat. The staff are friendly especially Jimmy, Leah & Kerry. Would recommend to family & friends.

Came as part of a wedding party. Very friendly staff even gave the bride and groom free desert as a congratulations. The food (carvery) was lovely. Will definitely come again.

Child of 3 years old screaming as he could no get his own way.This went on for about half an hour before I spoke to a waitress about it. Nothing was said or done by her and the screaming continued until I passed a comment which caused an altication. We were a party of 8 over 76 yrs. You may have gained a mardy screaming child as a customer but you have lost 8 adult customers

We had lasagne from the al forno section,it was delicious 😋. The service we got from James was outstanding. He was very attentive,making sure we had everything we need. He even helped me with my phone as I'm a technophobe. He needs to go far in this company. The food cooked by Ben was fresh,hot and perfect. We have had the best visit here. Definitely keep coming.

Food cold, beef very fatty, no gravy and asked twice. Pigs in blankets and sausages over cooked and burnt and still served them. Will not be going back . Very poor and staff didn’t seem to care

I visited today with my daughter, we were met by a smiley helpful member of staff at the door who found us a nice table although we hadn't pre booked, we then ordered at the bar with a very helpful, friendly young man called Luke, he was very attentive with good attention to detail, the food was good and fresh, good choice of veg and the meats were nicely cooked. It wasn't super cheap at a few pence under £30 for a traditional roast, a children's roast, a portion of pigs in blankets and 2 soft drinks but I guess that's the norm for carveries nowadays. Luke again showed he was on the ball by visiting our table to tell us my daughters free dessert would be on its way.....and it was.....and it was very tasty.

Kelsie table service was extremely professional and nothing too mich trouble , was a beautiful meal all round

Lovely carvery today. Meat could’ve been a bit more generous but then you do have an option of larger plate. Veg cooked perfectly and free crackling 😀😀 gotta love crackling

Eaten here several times. Had many different things off the menu. Carvery is lovely, pizzas great. In fact, all good never had an issue. Our waiter was Luke he was chatty , helpful, and polite.

Best pizza ever well worth the money

New review 30 Oct 24: Appears to be all new staff since our last visit and had a lick of paint outside. Really friendly helpful staff, wonderful food and will certainly be coming back. Much improved since our last visit a fair while ago when the review was just one star.

Went here for 1st time in years, great atmosphere, served friendly & quickly, 1 person had Carvery, absolutely lovely, 2 people had off normal menu, perfect food at reasonable price, would definitely recommend and go there again

Hard and dry meats and vegetables that had obviously been left under heat lamps for a very long time and inedible. Very dissapointed. I’ve contacted the resteraunt and await a reply.

Come with my family for a birthday meal for my daughter lizzie and Charlotte was very welcoming on the bar mat very helpful server and the kitchen staff went above in making a great desert with happy birthday written in chocolate sauce for my daughter thankyou everyone

Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, excellent food , excellent service by Kerry and Leah and all the serving staff. The only issue we had was the background music was too loud making it difficult to hear what was being said . Having said that we shall be returning in the near future.

This was our second trip The first time was great,the food,service,atmosphere all fantastic Last night we decided spontaneously, to go for dinner as I fancied a pizza The staff were great and friendly We ordered prawns as a starter and a large Veggie Supreme Pizza for mains After 30 minutes the pizza came.Looked great but it was the wrong one(looked like a Meat Supreme) We returned it to the chef No apology and got sent a replacement in less than 10mins Worst pizza my partner and I have ever had Replacement pizza pic attached

Food lovely, staff really helpful and welcoming. You can use a bluelight code here too which really helps. Shame the play area has been taken away but I can't complain about anything else as I love it here and we come and eat here weekly! Lovely new menu and the decor is newly refurbished and looks great!

Very disappointed this week booked a table for 2 near the bar due to health problems which there are no tables for 2 so we usually get a table for 4 i brought 2 xtra guests and was told you cannot sit there now ull have to sit near the door and must be finished by 2 o'clock i come every Sun for my dinner and i wasnt happy sitting miles from the bar to get my dinner because i can't waik so my husband ended up doing this there was no need to put us anywhere else because the table you've got for us was a table for 4 people so we could of still had the table bringing 2 extra quests not happy

Great service and good value. The carvery is very good value for money and if you don’t fancy a traditional roast with all the trimmings there are burgers, pizza and fish and chips. Comfort food at its best. There are also fantastic desserts and cocktails

Great carvery but it's a shame it was overpowered by the smell of cannabis. We told the bar staff but nothing was done about it. Not a nice experience for any of us especially my elderly mother, very disappointed

Booked for Sunday lunch and wasn’t disappointed by the roast. Sadly same can’t be said about staff. Person serving the meat asked what meat and that was it nothing else said and not just us everyone I saw him serving got same treatment. No smile, please or thank you. Same with another member whilst serving us talking to colleague about not wanting to be there not great at the start of the lunch service.

We popped in for a last-minute lunch without booking. Staff were great and fitted us in despite being really busy. Our server Luke was very accommodating and we would definitely come back.

The restaurant is so much better than it used to be. We could see the improvements as soon as we entered, and things remained very pleasant. The Sunday carvery was very tasty and good value for money. Prices for drinks are reasonable, too. Calum the manager was very welcoming and helpful, as were the staff we encountered. We hope to be back soon.

Called in for carvery, good choice, nice food.

Went today for lunch couldn't fault the food at all. I have been in hospitality for many years and the only thing that let's this place down was the appearance of the young staff with white trainers ,hair not tied back on the boys, dirty aprons. No staff asked us if our food was ok and the young staff justed walked up and down not clearing tablets and even asked for our table to cleared before we had our desserts.

Was recommended this place by another pub to go for some lunch. Went and had the carvery and got to say the best one I have had for a long time. The vegetables were cooked well and was not mushy. The deco to the place was lovely. Very clean and tidy, my only gripe would be the salt pots either didn’t have salt in or no bottom to hold the salt in. Plenty of parking, lovely out door seating. Would definitely come back if I was in the area again.

We were told on arrival that the roast had all been used because they had a busy day, which was disappointing. We settled for fish and chips, the fish was excellent but the chips were not made with fresh potatoes but the frozen kind, which on our last visit were real potatoes, so again disappointed. The queue to order and pay was 20 mins wait only one person taking orders. On a better note the staff are unbelievable, so friendly and happy to help with every detail. I will return as the value for money is amazing.

Well, thought we’d try this Stone House as we are regulars at The Shepherds, and WOW…AMAZING 😳 Kelsey said how good the mash was made with butter, and it was 🥰 I’ve never had better tasting mash anywhere. Callum said the roast potatoes were lovely, they were 😍 Vegetables done to perfection, cauliflower cheese, could actually taste the cheese well done Leon 👍 Thanks Kelsey and Callum made us realy welcome, can’t recommend this place highly enough 🤗

wow 🤩 we are happy regulars at the other stonehouse pub The shepards and thought we would give the gap inn a try and we were amazed with the quality of the food and the friendly staff plus the refurb is done to a very high standard and the whole place smells great including the toilets🤣 it is a little bit more expensive than the shepards but the extra cash goes a long way due to the quality of the meat and vegtables they serve. great job guys👍

Very disappointed with Sunday lunch only 2 choices of meat when asked about other meat was told it's still in oven. Roast potatoes were hard as was the stuffing peas were like bullets rest of veg was tasteless needles to say we won't be going again. If I could give it no stars I would.

Stopped for carvery . Very busy ,but service was quick and food choice was good. We both had carvery which was cooked well and was very tasty.

Awful service, extemely rude staff will never go again. Official complaint left with there head office after being sworn at by there supervisor on the bar.

Not child friendly, no play area or play ground anymore, just drawing stuff which is for more young children, it's more catered to adults drinking now it seems than families, soft drink prices are very expensive, would be a great thing if they did soft drink refills or a machine for them! Like Harvester or other places, the food is rather standard the carvery is slightly overpriced and not great quality and the toilets are quite dirty, especially the mens.

I stopped by the musson gap had a fantastic experience the food and pints was fantastic I was served by Leah and Kerry honestly they are so FUNNY

Just arrived looking forward to seeing the refurbishment to find they have completely removed the play area for the kids..... We left immediately. The only reason we started to go to this pub was the reasonably priced food and the outside play area for the kids. They now only have "colouring books". We won't be coming back as a family anymore. Only place that made us all welcome and watching the kids play outside. That's gone so why bother. Disappointed as they never once mentioned the kids area would be going.

Lovely meal. Food freshly cooked. Very friendly staff and good value for money. Plenty of choice on the menu or cheaper daily deals. Highly recommend.

The staff were nice. The carvery not so great. Roast potatoes were so hard on the outside even aftera 15 min soaking in gravy. Gammon was dry. Turkey was nice but that was because it had just been brought out. Cauliflower cheese, peas and sweetcorn were nice. Carrots were bland. Gravy had a weird taste of burnt about it.

Had a Too Good To Go bag and the carvery was atrocious. Besides being a tiny container, not enough for a portion, the potatoes were indelible and stuffing like a boulder. Wasn't impressed with the flavour either. Wouldn't entice me to come inside for a fresh one.
