I had hosted my mums celebration of life there and the atmosphere was great and the area I had for the event was perfect. Thank you again for looking after us there, I know my mum enjoyed having Sunday roasts when she was alive. Here's a few photos of the day.

Much improved since I went several years ago.the food and price point is excellent. Few years ago the food was sloppy that is now not the case..the bar restaurant looks great.staff helpful..I reccomend now we're before would be ashamed

Visited the gap Inn today for dinner with my daughter and grandson, food was delicious and service was excellent all our service needs were met by kerry and zac 😀

I had a small carvery,choice was good, roast potatoes were the best I've ever eaten at any restaurant, very tasty. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Partner had Pepperoni pizza, he rates them better than any shop or store ones. Toilets were spotless and fresh smelling. Well worth a visit.

We called in today 4th Feb and was served by Kerry and Eden who were both very helpful there knowledge of both the gluten free beer and food was very good and they made our visit very worthwhile the carvery was excellent and we will definitely call in again

The food was mostly very good (the burger wasn’t very good) but it took a long time to come out to us, and there was about 10 minutes or more between the first meal coming out and the rest. A pizza had been ordered with stuffed crust but it didn’t have it

Lovely hot food, and plenty to eat. The sausages were absolutely delicious, cooked by Chef Olly. Friendly helpful staff. Look forward to next visit in the very near future.

I am one of 7 elderly men who visited The Gap at Muston today 28th January for lunch at 1pm. The food was excellent as was the table, cutlery,environment coffee and pudding. Its the third time we have been since the Farrier stopped two for £11.99 ( supply problems) which we have used for many years and each time we have been delighted. The prices are keen especially 50% off Pizzas on Tuesdays ( massive size!) but to top it all full carvery main meal usually over £11 was offered to me/ us at £6 as I had registered on the Stonehouse Inns website and it seems there are many such offers during the year. The carvery food was excellent as was the pudding apple/ cinnamon pie with custard and cappuccino. Kerry looked after us very well cheerful positive and attentive as required. We will go back again after our next mens meetings. Well done the Gap!!✅✅✅👍👍👍😊😊😊

Carvery can be a bit hit and miss in terms of quality, but generally good value.

We visited for my friends Birthday. I had a voucher to have the carvery for £6 each. The young man that served us was wonderful, very helpful and carried our tray of drinks to the table for us. We all had a carvery which was spot on. Only complaint was the vegetables were a little cold, maybe a lid would help maintain heat. The cinnamon apple was amazing and I loved the added touch of the sprig of mint on the top. Nothing was too much trouble for staff. We had a lovely time.

We were well looked after the minute we ordered at the bar and greeted by Ben and served really well throughout. Both Kerry and Leah offered help at the table. one of whom carried my wife's meal to the table. A very tasty carvery for each of the 4 of us. Excellent experience all round.

Excellent value for money. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Even though we were last customers there was a full carvery available, nothing was running out and was replenished as needed.

Aisha and Kerry were very helpful and delightful food was lovely. My husband and I haven't been for a while and we both noticed positive changes. A throughly enjoyable experience.

Went once for the carvery and once for the standard menu, wonderful both times with quick service.

Love this place! We often come for the full English Breakfasts and Sunday Carvery, which are spot on. Recently tried one of their takeaway Pizzas - wow, it was massive and authentic style. Staff here are always lovely, great job folks!

Perfect pit stop. Following the A1 road closure we were in need of a tasty meal and were delighted to not just get this, but a wonderfully warm welcome too. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Even getting our son some milk after he tried the hot sauce offered with our meal. Sorry we don’t live closer as we would be back more. But we will spin by on another road trip to avoid the soulless services traditionally on offer. Thanks all

The staff made my partner’s birthday tonight! They kindly found a candle and put it in a burger with happy birthday in bbq sauce which was their idea! Warm and friendly staff, good food at great value. Thank you!

Really bellow average. There are always plenty of staff, and it's never full but no one ever wants to serve or help. It's impossible to make eye contact with an employee to get something like a menu or an ETA on your delayed food. We had 30 minutes between two of our party being brought theirmain courses (which were fairly cold), and three of our party being brought theres. The other person waited at the carvery for about 8 minutes while the bar staff chatted to each other until I asked them to find someone to serve her. The whole experience was a sham, and it was supposed to be a treat for my daughter's birthday with her friends. They've also ripped out all the playground and filled it with more chairs 🤷🏻‍♀️. Heaven help them if they fill all those seats. Guys sort your service out

We came here for a family get together over the festive period. Staff were very hopeful and well mannered food was good and we had an enjoyable afternoon in comfortable surroundings 👊🏻🙏🏻

Had a carvery. The beef was absolutely inedible. Full of fat.Roast potatoes were just cremated. Everything else was OK I suppose. Food serving area looked messy. Won't be in a hurry to go back!!!

We had a very enjoyable time on Christmas Day. I would like to commend all the staff fir their excellent service and in particular Lizzie, the assistant manager, who was extremely helpful during the booking process and made a point of say hello on the day. Thank you.

Visited at lunchtime on NYE, first visit after the refurb. Must commend Kerry, Leah and Charlie for their standard of service, friendliness and helpfulness, nothing was too much trouble.

Great destination for a family lunch. Had the carvery which was decent, but the off menu options looked good too. Also had desert which was well put together and tasty. Pub is a large space and is able to section areas off to cater for gatherings which was the case with us. This helps with keeping all the kids under control!

We went on boxing day as a family of 6 for the Christmas 3 course menu. The whole afternoon was fantastic, staff were great very cheerful and couldn't do enough for you, atmosphere was lovely and the food was really good.

Went for Christmas lunch with family and food was lovely, you could not ask for nicer staff they were so friendly and helpful ,last year and was great so got more family to come this year and they all said how well organised and good the food was and a very good price. Loved every minute of it look forward to next year .we'll done all and a happy new year 🎉

Leah and Kerry went the extra mile for us ( table of 6) on Wednesday 18th. We could see they were very busy with a full restaurant + a huge table of more than 24 people. My only complaint is that I had preordered a ratatouille tart - had to wait an extra ten minutes whist everyone had their carvery. Eventually when it arrived I was given a leek tart which looked unappetising and taste great (I’m a vegetarian) it was soggy and bland . I can’t recommend this tartar all-, there doesn’t seem to be any alternatives for vegetarians.

Was very busy with being Christmas but the staff were amazing and made sure everything was all good. Leah and Kerry kept coming up and checking everything was ok. Food was lovely and table had been laid well to celebrate a Christmas meal with family and friends

Went for the 1st time today, all staff were working well together and constantly moving around doing things and being productive. Mostly though, I recognized that they were all very cheerful and nothing seems too much trouble regardless of how busy it was. The food was great with good range of options, the atmosphere was very friendly and welcoming. I've travelled past here from Lincolnshire to Staffordshire for over 30 years and have only just visited, which is a shame as it's a lovely place. staff Charlie, Zach, Kerry and Aisha were lovely and made the place that little bit more welcoming than most places. Will definitely call again and would definitely recommend. (Don't know where you got your staff from but they were fabulous) Usually good management creates a happy workforce from my experience

We have just had a lovely meal with the family for Xmas at the muston gap all the staff where helpful, cheerful and working really hard and efficiently as it was very busy, lovely place to go with all the family thanks for making a lovely experience for us see you again :))

The worst dining experience we’ve ever had. Reserved a table online only to find the place half empty and left to find yourself a seat. Ordered on the app to save time. Drinks came quickly and waitress was friendly. However lots of staff mucking about- chefs wandering aimlessly and taking the mick out of each other which is fine, but it made you feel a bit uncomfortable and there is no customer awareness. After over 40 mins of waiting for a chicken parm I asked the waitress to check on it for us. She appeared 30 seconds later with a scorching hot bowl of overcooked, dry stuff that had clearly been forgotten about. My other half went up to get his carvery option and wished he hadn’t bothered. The turkey was so overcooked it was powdery dry, seriously salty gammon, brussel sprouts that were like bullets. If I’d thought raising the issue with a staff member would’ve made any difference, I would’ve. But to be honest the place seems like it’s run by a bunch of kids, and the chefs clearly spend more time mucking about than doing any kind of cooking. We were also starving by the time we got our food and couldn’t be bothered to argue- not that there was anyone to complain to as it was virtually self service! Maybe we caught them on a bad day- after all a Friday night is hardly peak time. But to be honest I wouldn’t run the risk of giving it another go.

The staff at the gap kindly accommodated 30 of my care home residents at very short notice for a Christmas party. One of the staff, Kerry, was extremely helpful with helping me more table and chairs around, looking after myself and my residents and being at our beck and call for everything. Zak was another server who was prompt and kind when helping us with anything we needed. Charlotte, another server, was amazing with helping us with everything. Truly amazing service and the food was delicious.

I went with my Bible study group for Christmas meal out. Most of us had the carvery which we paid for independently. One person had burger and chips. All meals were lovely and good value for money. I rang and booked a table but there was a little confusion and they were expecting 14 people but the table number was 14 and there were seven of us. In my.opinion they don't have enough staff clearing tables or serving in this inn. The staff that are therefore are friendly and lovely but the service could be quicker. We had puddings. I had the apple and cinnamon pie with custard which was really nice and a good size. We all had a very enjoyable evening.

Great place to pop in and have a bite to eat. The staff are friendly especially Jimmy, Leah & Kerry. Would recommend to family & friends.

Came as part of a wedding party. Very friendly staff even gave the bride and groom free desert as a congratulations. The food (carvery) was lovely. Will definitely come again.

Child of 3 years old screaming as he could no get his own way.This went on for about half an hour before I spoke to a waitress about it. Nothing was said or done by her and the screaming continued until I passed a comment which caused an altication. We were a party of 8 over 76 yrs. You may have gained a mardy screaming child as a customer but you have lost 8 adult customers

We had lasagne from the al forno section,it was delicious 😋. The service we got from James was outstanding. He was very attentive,making sure we had everything we need. He even helped me with my phone as I'm a technophobe. He needs to go far in this company. The food cooked by Ben was fresh,hot and perfect. We have had the best visit here. Definitely keep coming.

Food cold, beef very fatty, no gravy and asked twice. Pigs in blankets and sausages over cooked and burnt and still served them. Will not be going back . Very poor and staff didn’t seem to care

I visited today with my daughter, we were met by a smiley helpful member of staff at the door who found us a nice table although we hadn't pre booked, we then ordered at the bar with a very helpful, friendly young man called Luke, he was very attentive with good attention to detail, the food was good and fresh, good choice of veg and the meats were nicely cooked. It wasn't super cheap at a few pence under £30 for a traditional roast, a children's roast, a portion of pigs in blankets and 2 soft drinks but I guess that's the norm for carveries nowadays. Luke again showed he was on the ball by visiting our table to tell us my daughters free dessert would be on its way.....and it was.....and it was very tasty.

Lovely carvery today. Meat could’ve been a bit more generous but then you do have an option of larger plate. Veg cooked perfectly and free crackling 😀😀 gotta love crackling

Eaten here several times. Had many different things off the menu. Carvery is lovely, pizzas great. In fact, all good never had an issue. Our waiter was Luke he was chatty , helpful, and polite.

New review 30 Oct 24: Appears to be all new staff since our last visit and had a lick of paint outside. Really friendly helpful staff, wonderful food and will certainly be coming back. Much improved since our last visit a fair while ago when the review was just one star.

Great for a carvery meal/ Sunday roast, after a long hike near Belvoir. Stack up on all the roasties and veg.

Hard and dry meats and vegetables that had obviously been left under heat lamps for a very long time and inedible. Very dissapointed. I’ve contacted the resteraunt and await a reply.

Come with my family for a birthday meal for my daughter lizzie and Charlotte was very welcoming on the bar mat very helpful server and the kitchen staff went above in making a great desert with happy birthday written in chocolate sauce for my daughter thankyou everyone
