Food is good, service not very good as they more busy to serve students from local university. Very very loud .

One of the best Weather spoons outlets in Nottingham that still serves American breakfast. I walked miles from different weather spoons just to get to this outlet and it was worth the long walk and patience.

It was a a day, a day just like any other day, but a day like NO other day. That day breakfast needed to be ate, it wanted to be devoured, it had to be enjoyed, it yearned to be ravished like Jayne Torvill tumbling over Mr Dean's Bolero. And yo, like a beacon of hope, like an oasis in the dusky wilderness of Nottingham's plains, stood a bush. This bush was no ordinary bush. It was a bush of berries and berries made of the finest of fine geese. Yes a geesebush. Breakfast was duly ordered. A white knight set about preparing said feast. He was good at his job. He could work a microwave like any master craftsmen could master their tools. Sadly he didn't seem to be able to master a toaster and lo, the finest of bland white bread was served just as nature intended, still cold and still very bland. The rest of the banquet was cooked to a satisfactory and so the Gooseberry Bush delivered like a bush made of the finest geese.

Absolutely ridiculous, they would not let my friend in because she was ‘drunk’, but in reality had only had two drinks and had done nothing to make them think she was over the limit. They were incredibly rude to us when we tried to ask why she wasn’t being let in and were especially rude to my friend and did not let her prove to them that she was an appropriate level - we will NEVER be coming to this sooons in the future - absolutely disgusted with the bouncers behaviour- I am so appauled by the bouncers behaviour. DO BETTER B

Cracking 'spoons near NTU city campus, happy with food n drinks n prices, nice aspect, beer garden (son's favourite in the city), worth a visit 👍🍺

As a work group we go once a month for a breakfast and we have never had any issues , nice and quite and it's a lovely location nice chilled vibe

We tried to order through the app and had an issue with order, went to speak with bartender to sort it out and she was rude and didn't want to help to solve problem, worst experience ever, hope you will get rid that kind of staff. Left pub asap, avoid this place

Service was absolutely shocking when we went 13/01/23 - staff were incredibly rude and we left early because of how they spoke to us. Very sarcastic and spoke down to us with absolutely no reason to whatsoever. Food was fine classic spoons food. Some of the staff were doing a good job but two servers in particular embarrassed themselves with the way they conducted themself.

Fairly standard pub, not much going on at the time but good size and prices. Also used online ordering.

Me and my family went here for breakfast and it was really lovely. Staff were really lovely and the [lace was clean. The food was really nice and it was plated well. The price is brilliant as well.

One of Nottinghams more pleasant Wetherspoons pubs. Nice ambiance and great food. Staff are pleasant and tables constantly cleaned and cleared. I had the Xmas dinner with a free pint. Never been before, food was great, service could be improved, by letting customers know where to go for hot water for tea.

Found a long strand of hair in my food. Not a very clean restaurant. Most of the tables are sticky. When we asked staff to clean it for us they told us to just sit somewhere else. Staff not very helpful

Food was ok at best, however could be a lot better (I suspect the fryer oil hadn’t been changed in a while.) The waiter wanted to be elsewhere and took offence to a simple query - not all customers are regulars. Atmosphere was grim, I think the cemetery down the road had more life. Also you should really clean plates and cutlery in the kitchen not in the customer dining area.

Great pub in a quiet neighborhood but well supported. Atmosphere is relaxed and a lot less hassle than the alternative in the town centre. £2.06 for va point of Stowford Press at the time of writing - can't complain about that!

Well it's a Wetherspoons however as far as Wetherspoons go it's not too bad. Food standard Wetherspoons issue but never made me sick and always warm. Surroundings always clean and coffee machine works more often than not.

Above poshness for Wetherspoons near a city centre. Service was really good and the staff smiled and chatted. Normal Wetherspoons food served at great value but not special in any way, still a good breakfast. The pub is just off the Net Team route, get off at Trent University or Highschool and walk down the hill, just up and high up on Peel Street. This is the former Women's Hospital hence the Goosebury Bush, get it, Babies born here, so was my brother. Not sure what the pub is like at weekend evenings or any evening. Sunday morning when the students aren't around, its quiet.

Good cheap food, arrived very quickly after ordering. Service was good, pretty busy as well. Food was lovely as normal for Wetherspoons. Good job. 👍

This is a wetherspoons in the student area on edge of city centre.At present you can have breakfast at £2.99,refill hot drink at.99.All day brunch with soft or refill hot for£4.59,plus other good deals.For real ale drinkers the beer has been in very good condition on my visits.The pub though modern has a pleasant atmosphere,and built next to the old womans hospital. Being in the student area it gets very relaxed and uncrowded during summer and when students are away.If you find you have to queue up at maybe short-staffed city centre spoons,why not take a relaxing stroll up to the Gooseberry Bush.I don't think you will be disappointed.

A lovely bar, just off the main part of town therefore mostly locals only and very clean and friendly too.

Pubs are the best place to eat in england, not tiring junk food. cheapest place to get good proper food. So much better for your body than fast food. Sausage quality is very low, every other product I have liked. Very rapid service, 2 different terraces, very close to the arboretum for a romantic stroll after lunch.

5 stars outside of Uni term time, less during. You guessed it, I'm no longer a student. Bar staff very attentive but female manager a bit odd. Good Wetherspoons with with windows you can watch drug dealing from... Ladies loos cd do with the plumbing looking at. 4/7/23 New manager, staff seem happier, I am happier!

I LOVE the Gooseberry Bush! What better way to kick back and relax after a long shift at NTU library than with a pint and 6 peanut butter whisky shots? Highly recommend the £10 pinot grigio bottle. Will definitely be coming back!

Quick and efficient service, relaxed atmosphere. Visited twice whilst visiting nearby Premier Inn (once for dinner, once for breakfast) and can recommend. Both meals arrived promptly and as per the menu description. Staff all polite and friendly. Bar and toilets clean. No complaints whatsoever.

Having just moved into the area this is now our local. Loads of choice of drinks compared to other spoons I’ve been to. 2 nice terraces one of which gets the sun all afternoon. Clean pub, friendly staff, great prices.

Situated near Nottingham Trent University this is a very studenty pub. However good for a quick dinner with ususal Wetherspoons fare.

Our family was eating a meal today and we saw a homeless fella come in pay for a coffe then at the dispenser a doorman or security told the homeless fella to leave with out his drink !! Of course my children were horrified at this which made the experience alittle less for us, as being as they saw him pay then was told to leave ... So upsetting for my girls and I we won't be venturing into here again .

Went in there for a quick coffee and parked in their dedicated car park. A few days later I received a parking charge notice for £75 from Euro Car Parks as I didn't realise you had to pay in their car park! The signs clearly are not obvious and this is clearly a revenue spinner. Weatherspoons shouldn't be doing this to their customers. I will never go back

My Daughter's are studying at the Nottingham University, and its our first time visiting Nottingham. Our Daughter's are regulars in this pub/restaurant. We joined them for food before going shopping and a tour of Nottingham, There was plenty of students so I get why my girls are regulars has its there meeting place with friends. The value for money on food and beverages was excellent value for money, the pub/restaurant was very spacious and a good atmosphere I can see why it's busy! The staff are polite and nothing seems to be to much trouble :) food looked consistent has I could see going to other diners, so we ordered our food and was served by a tall lad wearing Black jeans and a Dark Blue shirt ( possible manager? Very attentive, polite and chatty, He was run off his feet but seemed to cope well. Our meals was served by a women with Blonde hair lovely young lady! We was told where the coffee machines was and toilets when we asked, the only thing I could see is the staff looked tired and run off their feet but considering how full it was I'm surprised any of the staff was still standing at the end of a shift. I would definitely recommend to friend's/family if they was coming to visit Nottingham.

I’m a French Canadian business man and I stumbled across this delightful pub by chance. I was served by a beautiful young man by the name of zeeran he was wonderful and made the whole experience. Toilets were nice.

I visited this Wetherspoons this weekend First time, has I stumbled across it walking into the city. We nipped in just for a drink but ended up having lunch, Food did take a while from kitchen to table but it was expected has it was really busy. The gooseberry bush has a nice layout, plenty of tables and a nice outdoor area. The GB looked clean, tables wasn't dirty and staff was polite enough! The young lad that served me Zyron I think his name was, was a lovely young man, really polite and chatty made my visit very pleasant. The bathrooms was clean, which is a bonus compared to some wetherspoons. So No complaints from me!!!! Keep doing what your doing.

Me and my friends came and it was going well until the manager/leader ZYRON was very rude to us, told my friend to calm down because he was laughing and then said he cannot be bothered to make pitchers for us, not sure why but for me that doesn’t seem right

As a Spoons fan, I have to give an honest review. Clearly the 90% student clientele makes for a lack lustre experience as no effort is given to service or cleanliness. Carpet sticky, tables with food plates and long departed customers, sticky tables, broken chairs. A sign saying saying “no chips” ?! In a Spoons?! Young student waitress only keen to chat with friends. Ordered a red wine and it was fermented and fizzy. Won’t return.

Nice pub, ordered using an app. Typical Wetherspoons so the prices were very cheap but the service was good and our drinks and food came quickly. The food itself was nice and tasty but would have liked a slightly bigger portion.

My twin brother Stephen and I were staying in Nottingham visiting some of the great pubs in this city and taking in all the great sites ,as we were staying in The Premier Inn on Goldsmith Street this Wetherspoon pub was only a few minutes walk,it was were we started our day out each of our six day stay in this vibrant city. This pub looks lovely, a beautiful interior, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, typical Wetherspoon decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside on their upstairs outside terrace. Our visits here took on a bit of a relaxed routine, whatever time we fell back into our hotel after a busy day exploring Nottingham ,usually early hours, we were usually up by 8am, watched a bit of telly ,cup of coffee to wake us up shaved and showered by 10am - 10.30am and out and over to The Gooseberry Bush Pub , we would order a glass each of soda water water ( free ) to wake our mouths up and then get the unlimited coffee options which is cool ,then order an English breakfast ( big one ) and then after our breakfasts and fill of coffee's would order a real ale each ,good selection in here ,the Sharps Brewery " Doom Bar " was particularly good ,these we would enjoy sat out on the terrace as when we visited Nottingham it was a heatwave, we would enjoy our real sles and plan out the day ahead,this was the cool routine we got into each morning. Couldn't fault anything about our visits here,staff superb, so friendly, meals lovely as were the ales and the pub itself is fantastic, when we are back in Nottingham next year we will most certainly be visiting here again several times. The Gooseberry Bush Pub is easy to locate on Peel Street. Opening hours are;Monday to Sunday, 8am till 11pm. A wonderful pub, most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.

This was very close to the place we were staying. Usual choice,. The table was sooo sticky and we didn’t get our drinks with our order…. We had to go to the bar and get them ? We think our drinks were delivered to the table next door

I visited this vile excuse for a pub and I was not impressed by the manageress who seemed to think that customers were a necessary evil. First of all I had to circumnavigate a sea of legs on the steps leading to the entrance. Once I’d done that I went to scan the track and trace. Did that and didn’t see anyone to greet me so I made my way towards the bar, only to get a less than friendly shot across the bows from the Manageress, who said “you need to go back to the entrance and queue”. There was no queue and I tried to point that out but she wasn’t having any of it. It was a case of “go back out and wait to be invited”. I told her not to treat me like a child, that I would go back out and this would be the last time I would darken the doors of this pub. Never again

Shambles of a manager running this pub.We arrived the other day to have a few pints to which we were greeted at the front door by an angry looking woman with manager in bold letters on her chest.She said "can you scan the track and trace" to which we said "we don't have the app and there isn't any service here, can we just fill out one of the forms you have?"You wouldn't think this would be an issue as all other Wetherspoons do this, but she said "no we don't have any" I look through the window and there's loads of the forms and the box you put them into so I said "I can see the forms are right there, cant we just fill one out and get a drink?"She says "No you cant" to which I respond "Are you having a bad day?" not sure what's wrong with this moody agitated manager, head office really needs to look at removing her she is only ruining your business and preventing custom.She then got the weird security guard who was touching me telling me to leave as we were not welcome in this pub as we have a bad attitude, when all we wanted to do was fill out a form and have a drink. What a weird set of management you have going here.

Need to start off by saying the glasses make me feel sick, unbranded dross. Food is bang average but the onion rings bring the rating up to a 2 star, deffo scran it. Also a non smoking area OUTSIDE is severely disappointing.

I came with a friend to have a spot in social after many a minute apart and the service was excellent and quick, very friendly waitress names Mia was a highlight with her friendly demeanour and nice attitude.

Absolutely shocked at the security on the door who were extremely rude and wouldn’t let us in for no reason at all. The manager and security were not socially distancing with us and made us feel very uncomfortable. Awful.

Mi amigo y yo entramos en cucharas con la esperanza de encontrarnos con nuestros amigos y sentarnos con ellos. Después de que el personal nos dijera que no podíamos sentarnos con ellos porque la mesa ya estaba a las 6, aceptamos esto y pedimos una mesa para dos para disfrutar de una agradable noche de sábado. Nos sorprendió cuando nos dijeron que esto no podía suceder. Aparentemente, solo porque conocíamos a otras personas en el pub, ¿no estaría bien que nos sentáramos en nuestra propia mesa? ! ¿NO hay pautas gubernamentales que digan que dos personas no pueden sentarse en su propia mesa mientras conocen a otras personas en el pub? ! ? Imagínese si en todos los pubs del país no se permitiera que todos los que se sientan en mesas diferentes se conozcan. No estábamos pidiendo nada ilegal, solo queríamos nuestra mesa de dos, pero nos lo negaron. No fuimos groseros y fue una situación ridícula. Los gorilas tampoco se distanciaron socialmente con nosotros, lo que nos hizo sentir extremadamente incómodos y también mostró una contradicción (si nos va a negar la mesa, al menos imponga una distancia de 2 m con su personal y use PPE).Terrible servicio.

Somos visitantes habituales de este establecimiento y nunca nos ha decepcionado. Hasta ahora . . . la mesa estaba sucia, pedimos que la limpiaran y terminamos haciéndolo nosotros mismos. No bistec no gammon 3 de nosotros tuvimos hamburguesas algo que nunca tengo y 1 una pizza, 1 de 4 satisfecho la pizza. Las hamburguesas eran asquerosas con 10 chips. Volveré y le daré una segunda oportunidad. Pero ojalá lo recojas, parece que últimamente estás recibiendo muchas malas críticas.

Everything it's amazing from the staff to the food we paid 15£ for three people and we got 5 plates and 3 cups of hot drinks with free refill. I'll suggest anyone to go there

I came for a few drinks with my friends. We asked for some drinks and the waiter said they didn’t have any in, so we asked for a gin and they didn’t have any gin. What sort of place doesn’t have all drinks available? Finally we found a drink (that we didn’t want) and it was a pitcher that didn’t have ice in it. We asked for ice and were told there was no ice left. Yet 2 minutes later a girl walked by with a pitcher full of ice. Not impressed. We asked why they had no ice and the waiter walked away saying ‘we’re f*cking busy we have no ice’. Overall I have had absolutely disgusting service and I will not be returning.

Came for drinks on a Sunday night, staff were rude at the bar as they had no drinks left and that seemed to be our fault. They than ran out of ice so I had half a pitcher with no ice... we then seen someone coming from the bar with ice went back up to the bar to ask and they still said they had no ice even though they had given some to someone 2 seconds earlier. The waiter was rude and swore under his breath at us we told him we didn’t appreciate that and he apologised but not very sincerely Wouldn’t recommend lots of people complaining, dirty, rude staff and an overall terrible experience Worst spoons I’ve ever been to

Visited here for a quite lunch but did it know it was used by students. As we sat down about 100 university students arrived . Students were ok and no issues with them but just a busy pub at lunch.Unable to use Weatherspoons App to order food and had to do it at bar. Food was generally ok but chicken burgers were a little dry. Otherwise no issues Parked in car park at back of building

Very studenty so expect it to be very busy during term time. Other than it being busy it is everything that you want in a spoons.

Llegué a Notts por unos días ya que mi hermana es estudiante en la universidad, y decidió ir al arbusto de grosellas para nuestra cena, frecuentamos bastante cucharadas de agua y había estado en este antes; educado, eficiente personal y buen ambiente. Todos disfrutamos bistec y patatas fritas y todo estaba preparado como pedimos.

A students second home and why shouldn't it be? Cheap food and even cheaper beer! You tend to get the locals in here aswell so it can get rather busy at any point during the day or night.

Pleasant enough Wethys Unusual in that most of the clientele are very young !! Mainly because it’s on the Trent Uni campus

Normalmente caminamos hacia el Roebuck, pero pensamos en un cambio y un bistec, sin embargo, cuando fuimos a pedir nuestra comida, ¡nos dijeron que no tenían filetes! ! ! ¡El “martes de filete” había estado muy ocupado! ! Difícil de imaginar ya que los estudiantes están de vacaciones en este momento. Tenía una Ultimate Burger y un cordero, bueno, ¡pero no lo mismo!

Discovered this Wetherspoon's near Nottingham University. Atmosphere, furnishings and breakfast was lovely. Even better......the loo's were located on the same floor! Large car park at the rear.

Ordered on the app. It's busy and bonfire night but still 55 minutes for a drink was unacceptable, especially when the drinks we ordered came with no ice in the wrong glasses!

Un Wetherspoons ocupado con muchos estudiantes. Era ruidoso pero controlado. La comida es excelente, buenas raciones, bien cocinada, caliente y bien presentada. El servicio fue lento, pero se estaba reclutando más personal para hacer frente a la demanda.

amazing food and cheap prices, theres no minimum card sepnd limit so you can use your card to pay for a 50p pot of mushy peas. i recommend the bbq ribs, yum!
