Had the unfortunate experience of ordering a lasagne, it was extremely dry and pretty flavourless. You could tell it had been reheated possibly by microwave and was in no way fresh (it tasted days old tbh). The only way it could have been more dry is if the lasagne sheets were replaced with sandpaper... Service was ok, would be nice if they were a bit more cheerful and smiled? Can't see myself returning.

Quirky place in a boat house complete with barge. A vast range of drinks, it may take a while.

Great bar in a great location. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming, special thanks to Amy for her help when we visited. Lots of drinks choices available including some very well kept real ales. They also have a function room available. Well worth a visit.

Stopped off for a pint, had a good laugh at the bar with the bartender and enjoyed the layout. Good selection of beers and wasn't very expensive, I'd definitely come back again.

Not quiet my cup of tea ( sorry I am a cocktail lover) but no denying they have a good selection of craft beers and spirits. Toilets clean, the canal feature too adds a interesting point. Very popular location which can hinder getting to the bar. My mate loves their fish finger sandwiches

I like the Canal house but on several occasions have felt an inconvenience to staff whilst trying to decide what to order from their large selection.

Fabulously renovated old canal wharfe/warehouse with a narrow boat in the building. An excellent selection of Cask and Keg beers too. Well recommended.

My favourite place for a lunchtime snack in Nottingham. Nice staff, good always good and plenty of it, reasonable price, and it's never been crowded either. And there's a canal boat in the entrance, and a canal too! Has a really nice feel to it.

A very interesting pub with lots of good beers to try and the food was also very good.

Beer was immaculate but the food was disappointing. A cold and soggy jacket concluded our night as rather unfortunate, next time the drinks will be all. Thanks.

It's OK, but many of their beers are hugely overpriced & there's zero atmosphere. Only really comes alive in the summer with a decent outdoor space...but the beer's still expensive!

Good choice of guest ales as well as their own Castle Rock stable.

Really lovely bouncers here, which was such a pleasant surprise. Our friend was a little too drunk, so they gave him a cup of tea and very politely came over to tell us that he had to leave. Nicest experience with a bouncer any of us have had. Thanks so much guys for all your help :)

I think this place is great, however don't ask for a dash of blackcurrant in a pint. If you do they'll charge you an extra £1.80. I don't get it! I'm getting less cider but being charged an extortionate amount for a bit of blackcurrant!

Beer selection is generally good and at a great location but the food was poor. So sauces on the burgers or sandwiches and tasteless vegetables, making for a very bland and dry dish.

I didn't want to say anything negative about this place because the ambiance, the beer selection and the service are all great. The food I received however was not. I ordered the rump steak, which when it arrived looked great, it was also a good price. The problem arose when I attempted to cut into it when the reason for the price became clear - it was as tough as if it had been a block of stewing steak, difficult to cut and very hard to chew. I'm not sure if they are picking these things up somewhere for cheap, but I would even want to give this stuff to a dog. Go for the beers and the quirky environment, avoid the steak!

Still one of the best places in Nottingham for a social. Beer selection 10 out of 10, food decent also

First time there but will definitely will not be my last did not have food but it looked very good unique pub with a good atmosphere also had a excellent selection of drinks real ales etcetera

I rarely give 5 stars but this place is very unique. They could easily rest on their laurels with the location but instead they run a very large range of beer of around 4 real ales and 4 boxes cyders as well as an extensive german/Belgium bottle fridge. Didn't try the food but a must visit if you are in the city.

At a party in the upstairs room on Saturday Feb 10th. Amy(?) with pink hair could not have been more helpful. Guy behind the bar was helpful too Food was lovely and gluten free options, together with gluten free bear made it an extra hit with my coeliac family members. Dance floor had air con! Excellent. Great night had by all Thank you

Wow! I'm so pleased I came across this place. It's got a canal barge INSIDE. And a bridge! And outside, a superb beer garden overlooking the canal. I might have to come back......!!!

Thanks Ashleigh, without you this pub would have been a Glasgow level canal, but you elevated it to Venetian levels of lush.

Quite a large place where you cross a bridge over a waterway with a barge floating to get to the bar. Great selection of real ales and craft beers. Very busy place. Popped in with friends for a beer. Enjoyed my visit.

Fantsic pub caters to our allergys with no fuss and has a grate selection of drinks. staff where wonderful and on the bull chill atmosphere and dog friendly really it was all we wanted keep it up x

Terrible staff, terrible service, no manager or supervisor on shift. Food came late, food was dry, my girlfriend had one bite and returned the over priced food. Will not be recommending or returning. To add to this £6.80 for a pint which was flat. Staff was incredibly rude and shown 0 enthusiasm and made all my company feel unwelcome wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Toilets weren’t clean. Go via fossa next door much nicer atmosphere and staff. Only positive is there is a canal going through the middle of the pub that you can jump into after receiving the service.

Not good at all. Service was ok, however no check back on the food which meant I had to take my food to the bar to complain. The food was awful, had the beef brisket sandwich and was extremely dry and overpriced. When complained about and asked for a manager there was not one available and did not even come down to address the situation. When leaving the manager then appears and handed me less cash than what I paid and I also paid on card. The manager said no words to me other than ‘someone wasn’t happy so here’ and walked off. Unprofessional would be an understatement.

The place is nice for going out and spending time with friends. Prices are ok. The only cons is that the food is very mediocre. Otherwise if you go out with friends and have a chat with some drinks is a very good place.

The place is awesome. Its near the canal. At least 10 beer siphons, along with the bottles. Bartenders are very nice. Placeis warm, happy, smiling faces everywhere. But i choose the silence with the water, whichi think more attracting in warm to cold winter nights. 10/10 come again

Couldn't comment on the food because it was booked Xmas meals only. It did look and smell very nice. Wide selection of beers and ciders. Love waliking over the little bridge inside and seeing the canal boats inside the pub

Popped along with colleagues for a couple of drinks after work - unique layout, nice atmosphere & look, enjoyed our drinks & had a good time. Kept off 5 stars by the drinks being a bit pricier than expected!

Had a few Sunday dinners here and always exceeded expectations. However this time it was awful all cooked from frozen and cheap, nothing fresh, gravy was like water. Yet still almost £14 each. Won't be going for a roast there again which is a shame.

Wow, what an interesting pub, well worth a visit. Went on a Saturday and although it was busy we were served promptly. Worth visiting, would recommend it even just for the atmosphere 😀

A unique pub with the canal running through the middle of the pub complete with moored barges inside. Walk across the bridge to get to the bar. Good selection of both real and keg Ales. A lovely Waterside outdoor area when the weather is warmer. Serves food. Located close to the railway station. We'll worth a visit when in Nottingham.

Such a cute pub, heaps of character and anything you could ask from cask and draft selection. Oh and the bottle and can selection 10/10. I love the staff there too, a must visit! 😍

Great venue. Loads of room inside and out. Big drinks selection and plenty of bar staff to keep things moving. Food was lovely and staff super accommodating There's boat in the pub!!

Unusual place to visit with water and a barge inside. Not cold either and visited in November. Just went for a quick drink no food eaten. Staff friendly.

Went for a post gig drink and liked it. Great atmosphere with a canal (with boat) in the middle. Good beer selection and clean toilets. Food is reasonably priced but I didn't partake.

Craft beer selection can be a bit hit and miss more than other places. I miss the comfy chairs.

We visit quite often as our daughter is at Nottingham Trent Uni. We love that we can sit out & that it's not only dog friendly but staff look after them as well as us hoomans! The staff are, without exception, just super nice, super helpful. If it could be my local I'd bloomin live in!!

Unique pub worth visiting for its location alone. Also sells loads of ale from keg, cask and bottle. Large canalside area seating. Large inside and done out really well. It’s really nice seeing the barges moored up inside. Serves food. Friendly staff. Went in on a warm Day and it’s lovely and cool inside! Highly recommended 🍻

Lovely canal side pub in the centre of town

A short walk from Nottingham railway station. Friendly and helpful staff. Food good quality. I had the slow cooked bourbon brisket of beef which was very tender and tasty. Other members of the party had beef Sunday lunch, chicken Sunday lunch and venison burger. All reports were good. Outside area is mostly covered by glass gazebo and is a nice canal side site. Inside is quirky as the bar area is formed around a canal boat dock. We were there for a pipe (smoking) show in the events room above the bar, this is hireable. Only real drawback is the toilets, ladies on 1st floor, gentlemen on 2nd floor.

Not been here for years. Bar staff quick to serve even though busy, food looked great but didn't eat.

2nd visit to this place and the food is wonderful and great price for it as well. The beer is top notch as well.

Attended a private function. Food delicious , toilets clean, Nice staff. Dj rubbish cut songs off half way through, only played requests after asking and asking. Not a wide genre of music pretty poor really if your a DJ.

Ein wunderbarer Ort um den Abend ausklingen zu lassen. Das Personal sollte nur dringend auf Sauberkeit achten, einfach mal die Tische regelmäßiger abwischen, mal Geschirr öfters einsammeln, auch wenn man wenig Personal hat aber Sauberkeit steht ganz oben und dann darf man auf den Tischen einfach nicht kleben bleiben. Einfach mal einen losschicken und schauen wo Leute aufgestanden sind sofort jemanden mit dem Lappen hinschicken und schon kann man es noch viel besser genießen.

Good place to spend a nice time

Lovely location but ruined by very poor food. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak sandwich which tasted only of pepper and nothing else. My friend ordered the brisket sandwich which was dry as a bone. No staff checked back to see how our meal was, and no one came to take the plates away for over 20 minutes after we finished the meal. No standards whatsoever and a complete was of money. A real shame for what is a lovely venue.

I came here yesterday for an after work drink and some food with colleagues. The beer selection was very good with both Castle Rock and other local and not so local beers on keg and cask. We ordered food which came quickly and was pretty decent. I like the quirky nature of the industrial heritage of the building complete with canal boat.

Great bar which serves lots of ales and beers and food to order ,with a good choice of drinks and seating outside by the canal .

Didnt have food but it looked delicious 😋 but the service was excellent and the beer garden was packed due to the gorgeous weather will call again.
