The White Hart in Nottingham

It's very heavily students in the bar, but it's cheap and shows sports. They Have a pool table too. Not tried food here but all in all a great pub

I don’t like it when you make Herpman work instead of playing Among Us. He’s just a sussy little baka who loves being the imposter and faking his tasks. Lots of love though, I do love pints!

Lovely local pub. Just a bit loud with the football on the (numerous) tvs around the room. Great if you like sports, though!

I had such a lovely experience here. I've never felt so welcoming at a pub before and I have nothing to complain about at all. I have been and will be returning many times. Definitely worth a visit. Amazing venue! I especially want to shout out Demi, Elliot, Sophie and Kelsea for providing a wonderful evening.

The White Heart is a typical Nottingham pub with great beer, fun locals, and all the sport you could ask for. The service was prompt, professional, and friendly, with the prices good for students. The food is good for pub food, and was served pretty quick. Good way to spend an hour with friends.

Only popped in for a quick drink before an appointment at qmc was clean and tidy

An ideal place for sports screening as the place has like a million TVs stuck everywhere and no matter where you sit you will have a TV in your angle. Good place for students. The burger van outside however is very slow.

Excellent place definitely come again

We were staying locally and nipped in for a quick bite to eat. Obviously a very student oriented pub, quick service at the bar, but the food wagon in the beer garden left a lot to desire. Basic burger and chips, both cold and the girl in the kitchen wasn't the friendliest. Will look further afield next time we visit.

Nice boozer, lovely Staff, quick turn around at the bar, absolutely full of Students! Simple burger van type food in the large beer garden, not bad for a quick tea whilst visiting Nottingham and the surrounding area.

Nice pints friendly staff and good prices only thing that let's it down is the que system for a pint order at 1 end of bar then have to wait at another bit for collection never seen that system at any pub before it takes 2 long.

Same decore since I worked their 9years ago... girl behind bar needs alot more experience also be more politewhen serving... needs brightening up its more dull now then I remember... pool table needs re cushioning.... pint taste awfull.. we defo did lines EVERY Thursday.... they certainly are not now

It advertised a carvery but when we asked the rude staff who were more interested in chatting to each other than serving us rudely informed us they wer'nt doing a carvery but you can have something off the menu the tables wer dirty you stuck to the floor because it had not been cleaned we just walked out will never go back again

Me and my friend recently had a very good breakfast at the rose and crown so when I suggested we try the breakfast here that we'd heard about he was sceptical. On the walk there we both said only saving a couple quid what's the point in walking 10 minutes extra. But wow, I would walk to derby and back for this, bacon and sausage was bountiful and decent quality (surprisingly when looking at the price), hash browns georgeous, beans tomatoes mushrooms toast all there, scrambled eggs were a bit dry and fried eggs some were good some were shambolic but it's £4 in a pub what do you expect, all this was UNLIMITED, with friendly helpful bar staff and lovely relaxed seating what more could you want, if I could give 6 stars I would.

The place has good options of food and beer and is a walking distance from the tram line; therefore easy to come and go to other parts of the town either for leasure or for work. Therefore, a very good option.

Popped in for lunch and had a great meal. Friendly staff and quite busy for an early Monday lunchtime always a good sign. Ordered 2 x Fish Shop Feast at £8.99 each - what a treat, fish , scampi , chips , peas and baguette, food arrived quickly and well presented. Very enjoyable meal at a great price , will definitely be going back.

Popped in with a work colleague at 1530. Opted for the fish and chips from the "2 for £10" menu. Bar staff were friendly, food arrived promptly, and as can be seen from the photo, the portion size was generous! The staff were attentive as well. If you're after somewhere for a quick, tasty, cheap 'n' easy meal and a pint, with free parking too, this is the place! Sorted.

Waited about an hour for food to arrive but once at the table, the food was hot and delicious for the low prices paid. Would return if in the area wanting a cheap bite to eat (only if I had a couple of hours spare!!!!)

felt really sorry for our friends who organised their party here as the food was over cooked and served swimming in fat it tasted as though the chips had been cooked in the same oil as the fish and the staff were clueless need to get to know more about the food they are serving(we had to tell them what the desserts were). This is local to our place of work, food always good . Several departments book their Xmas meal,always good value and a lively atmosphere, however this year the cost has gone up by £ 6.99 ! therefore they have priced themselves out and this year we will be going to another local pub who's prices are more realistic for a local pub. White Hart will be losing a lot of customers both for food and drink which is a shame but obviously the chain is pricing its self out of the market . The prices they are charging are the same as a good restaurant in Nottingham and unfortunately we are are more likely to book a good restaurant. The White Hart needs to cater for the locals

We went here for Sunday dinner as we had been previously and had a great meal and brilliant service but were really not happy this time. We ordered 2 x mugs of tea as part of our order but when it came one of the mugs had a piece chipped near the rim, the milk jug also had a piece chipped off it near the rim so we had to get them changed. We were left a very long time for our meals. One of the sauces for the steak that was ordered came about 5 minutes after the steak meal and it was cold so we had to ask to have it heated and when it eventually came back the steak was cold so not a very good experience this time and we won't be returning again.

Popped in here for a Sunday carvery and was pleasantly surprised to find a really lovely Sunday roast and the portion was huge .. the staff very friendly and attentive.. would definitely recommend and return

1st time visit, in a rush as all the restaurants near showcase were full, so drove round looking for a place to get a bite to eat with less than an hour to spare. Spotted the White Hart and parked up.

Been to the white Hart several times but never left a review before. Always had a good meal and good service from the friendly staff there. We had two meals for ten pounds today and was not disappointed it was great won't be long before we call again thank you.

Arrived just after one o clock and it was very busy, but luckily managed to find a table for my party of 5 and a baby. I was advised that there was an hour wait for any food coming out of the kitchen so we decided to go for to the carvery instead. When I went to the carvery to be served, they only had lamb or a small piece of beef left, no stuffing, and no Yorkshire puddings. I thought the food was unpleasant and look unappetising. I will not go back again.

Firstly a huge thank you to Sonya - we booked for 80 people- a lot of it done by phone as we live some distance away. The whole process was very straightforward, she was very helpful and organised exactly what we had requested. On the day, Sonya and her staff were absolutely wonderful, they provided excellent food, great service and took all the stress out of that part of our day.

Went for breakfast yesterday and it was good, only thing missing was the sausages not too too bothered as it looked good but chef came out with them and apologised.

Went for a lunch with colleagues. We pre-booked food but waited ages for it to arrive. It transpired our pre order had not been cooked before were arrived. We waited over half an hour for food to and some colleagues waited even longer. This was when very few other customers were in the pub. Would not recommend on this basis. Food was fine, just service not good.

Have eaten here every time we have visited Nottingham for an annual hospital appointment. Today arrived around 6.30pm to find that they were no longer serving food. This is a large, busy pub. Was very disappointed that a business of this size is so limited with what they offer. Found another lovely pub and will be going there instead from now on.

Tried this pub for a bite to eat in the evening, food was average pub food, typical, noisy, loud sports bar. Not the place for a quiet chat..................!

We called on our way to drop a relative of at a bus on her way to London. We were a party of four and were in a hurry so asked if we could have our meals ASAP so we would get to the bus stop in time and the lady serving personally took our order into the kitchen and made the chef aware. He obliged and we had 4 different meals beautifully cooked and really enjoyed our experience so will be going back again.

Absolutely loved the sunday roast here, but for the last two weeks it has turned into a carvery and now it is very poor in comparison. The beef is tough and fatty whereas before it was wonderfully cooked and tender, get a grip before it is too late, The meals during the rest of the week are good and value for money, the staff are friendly and cheerfull, here,s hoping someone is listening and return back to the tried and trusted Sunday roast

We have been going here for a while for sunday lunch we have always enjoyed it (lamb yummy) but we went this week and it is now a carvery we will not be going back, the lamb was very chewy our friend who had the beef said that was tough too so didn't eat it, needs to be sorted or bring back the normal roast

I work just down the road from the White Hart but until this week I had never been in because I've never heard any of my friends talking about it. However, I was so impressed when I went on Thursday that I went back again yesterday!The pub is part of the Greene King group and the decor is what you would expect from any typical pub chain. I'm a bit of a Wetherspoons and Marstons fan myself and found the White Hart to compare favourably.On both occasions I had the fish finger baguette which was filled with four fish fingers and accompanied by a good half-plate serving of salad. My husband had ham, egg, and chips. We were both very very impressed with the portion sizes and the flavour.There are a couple of big screen TVs and a few of the booths have their own smaller TVs and on both occasions when I visited there was a sports programme showing but it in no way spoiled the atmosphere or the whole experience.The staff were helpful and friendly even on Thursday when the place was full of the normal payday rush!Well deserving of a 4* review.

This was once my local when I lived in Nottingham but I hadn't visited it in 25 years until I popped in for a swift pint whilst in the city. Back then it was always lively, they did excellent Kimberley's ales and decent pub food, and it had a fantastic juke box. Now it is quiet, does generic Greene King Ales and the juke box is gone. In its place was one of umpteen TV screens. The staff seemed slightly disinterested. Decided not to try the food - it looked bog standard. The toilets are vastly improved - but that was a low bar to get over.

Good offers and service for a family meal. Polite service, light spacious tables. Food hot and tasty. Good value. Lasagne well presented. Scampi very plentiful.

Xmas party in the Function Room. Took 90 mins for the starters to arrive and another 30 before mains started appearing. The veg was cold, the turkey seemed prepacked sliced meat. Pigs in blankets were just pigs. Some of the diners had finished before some had even got their meals. There was a lot of uneaten food and a lot of disgruntled party goers. The manageress didn't know who had ordered what or where they were sitting, she just kept bellowing out each order as it arrived in the room. I hope the main bar serves better.

Ordered food and was told it was going to be at most a 45 minute wait, food took over an hour to arrive (~ 1 hour 10 mins for a veggie burger and chips, + 5 minutes for the chicken burger and chips) - no apology for lateness. Veggie burger was decent, chips were bland and luke warm, friend couldnt cut into his chicken burger. Food arrived so late even with expected wait that my friend didn't have time to eat all his food. I was initially surprised at the price of a pint, but when I later saw my receipt I had in fact been charged to 'go large' for my chips even though I clearly declined.

On entering the bar area (Early Thursday evening) it was crowded but comfortable, we were greeted with a smile, “can I help you”, first impressions, warm and welcoming.We ordered our drinks and sat at a table to peruse the menu, excellent layout and easy to follow, though some of the smaller print is difficult for those of us getting on in years.We struggled to come to a decision as the choices all made our mouths water but decided on the mixed grill.Rump steak, chicken breast, gammon steak with fried egg, (Maybe the pineapple option could be offered next year), two pork sausages, mushrooms, chips and peas.I have Guinness which was served perfectly apart from the shamrock, better have has her customary glass of diet coke.The food arrived and looked delicious, the chicken was succulent, gammon moist unlike a lot of places where it appears dried up, my steak was a tad over cooked, leaning more to medium than rare, but still pink with just a little redness, but the best part…. The egg. Now if anyone has read my previous reviews my pet hate is hard fried eggs….AT LAST… the egg oozed a glorious yellow yolk, the chips piping hot and crisp.Well done to the team they obviously work hard and are reaping the rewards

Spent an hour here in the summer meeting a friend only to receive a parking ticket after running over the pre-paid time by a few minutes. Went back to the pub to resolve and was told that the pub was having real issues with the ticketing firm but that they would sort it. Months later I'm being chased by debt collectors demanding £160 from me. This was a very expensive diet coke?! The bar is pleasant enough and staff were friendly but the parking issue must be resolved, otherwise they'll only attract locals.

Nipped in on the way from work for a Sunday dinner. Staff where very helpful and polite, the meal was an absolute dream, couldn't have asked for better. Reasonably priced. A must if your after decent reasonably priced food with an excellent service.

Web site led us to believe the pub had a "carvery style restaurant"...... It hasn't! If you don't want kids running about, sport everywhere you look and share a table with someone discussing last nights trouble with a waitress, it isn't your kind of place. Everyone seemed quite comfortable and knew each other; we didn't so we didn't stay to order food, although we did have a drink which was nice & cold, in a clean glass and very reasonably priced.

Please can I say to all that my husband ian and I (Sonia) took over the White hart in October 2016 and we do our upmost to make every walks of life welcome in the pub and we have changed the food around, our Sunday dinners are all fresh veg and all meats are full joints cooked from fresh. All customers old and new are welcome xx

We visited last night as a group of staff whom work together at QMC for leaving drinks and food. It was the first time I had been and was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and very generous portions.There was a new a nice ambience and the staff were very friendly. Will visit again for sure. Also they do two meals for £9 great value.

Visit here regularly, either during the day for food and or on a weekend night, they often have entertainment on.The new land lady (Sonia) is very polite and friendly and always makes sure her customers are happy.Let's hope she's here to stay as she's certainly made it a better pub.

A really enjoyable evening, both the better half and I found it difficult to choose from the varied menu but we both opted for the mixed grill.I had my usual pint of Guinness, I am a lover of a big head so was delighted when it arrived with (I would claim) a perfect ½" head and temperature.It was a Friday early evening and quite busy so we expected to wait and so it was to be, though twenty-five minutes did seem to take forever but it was worth the wait.Both steaks were cooked to perfection, mine rare to medium, the better half cremated (I tease her). I find asking for a rare steak in branded pub outlets a let-down, as it is either too raw or overcooked depending on the chef’s preference. The chicken breast was moist and succulent while the gammon golden brown. Topped off with two fat juicy sausages. I would have liked a little more pepper sauce with mine. If I can have a gripe it has to be a Nottingham thing, rarely, in fact never, have I had chips that hold their heat for any length of time, not just pub meals but from fish and chip shops too. My other gripes concerns mixed grills and eggs, why are the eggs on the menu's always perfect yet on the plate rubbery and hard.Overall a very nice enjoyable evening and value for money, complemented by friendly staff.

A great meal for me and my son. It is pub grub at its best and the chef was happy to accommodate my fussy needs! We visited in the daytime and so the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. Overall the experience was better than expected!

I visited the White Hart this lunchtime with a friend for the first time and were given a very warm welcome by staff. This pub was recently taken over and refurbished and it certainly shows. Nice fresh decor and a great atmosphere to match. I was pretty hungry so ordered the garlic mushrooms followed by the 8oz rump Steak Sizzler which was really tasty and cooked (medium rare) to perfection - tender 8oz Rump topped with melted cheese and onion rings with a side of Peppercorn sauce on a bed of peppers & onions and served sizzling with a generous portion of chips. Highly recommended!! My friend also had the mushrooms to start followed by the Hunters Chicken which was also thoroughly enjoyed! The prices were pretty reasonable considering the quality and the portions! We will most definitely return soon...Well done White Hart!

I went there to dinner with some friends, the food was really good! I'm italian and I liked to taste some english food. The service was quick and the atmosphere friendly

We visited as a family. If you don't like sport this is not a place to go, as it is wall to wall TV.It is comfortable but its main asset is its cheap food.It wasn't really a family pub despite having a children's menu. The food served was inexpensive and very plentiful!It was noisy with all the TV screens on, which makes for a good atmosphere if you were a sports fan but very unsuitable if you wanted somewhere quieter.

Booked a table for 17 which wa sall set up for us when we arrived at 6.30pm, at 6.46 ordered food which took a while as staff were new and didn't know how to use the tills as they hadn't been shown properly. Manager and a blond haired woman were wondering in and out the back looking fed up every time the staff asked them for help. My food came out about 45/50 minutes after ordering as my sister in laws has come out 20 minutes after ordering, my friends however came out after about a hour and 10 minutes!My food was fine my friends steak was a lump of gristle but all in all the food wasnt bad, its just a shame our table all had to eat at separate times, as some were starting dinner others had finished desserts. The manager never came over and explained that one of the chefs hadn't turned up as did neitherof the 3 staff atanding there doing nothing behind the bar. Tables took forever to be cleared. I was told the mens toliets weren't nice by one of the kids dining with us....shame cause if not for the wait and rudeness of manager this pub would be ok.....doubt I'll return!

Under the new management I am pleased to say it has turned it's self right around. Staff are more competent in there work. And are more understandable for the customers needs. It's needed a big turn around and with new management it has turned around dramatically. Best place to be in Lenton by far!

It was just OK, nothing majorly bad just service wasn't very quick and food was just average. Been to other Greene Kings that have been much better.Timed it wrong going when a match was on, atmosphere wasn't family friendly and language by patrons appalling!

Great value meal in a nice looking pub with friendly staff. Reasonable priced drinks. Sky sports 7 large TVs. Difficult to park due the tram works. I had a steak. Good quality with fast service and pleasant staff. Separate newly refurbished function room which is free to hire with big screen projector tv.

This pub has some very unsavoury staff members, who indulge in questionable activity on work premises involving certain illicit substances. Similarly, a number of the patrons partake in similar activity, to which a blind eye is turned. Other customers, who bring in a lot of revenue and always behave impeccably, are treated like second-class citizens. Time for a change in staff and management I think.

Having worked in the food industry myself I am familiar with the saying "the customer is always right" and always went out my way to accommodate this. The staff (particularly the female manager who worked today [20/03/14]) clearly were not trained to believe in this philosophy. I and 5 of my friends met this evening for tea. We placed our orders at the bar one by one and paid separately. The first meal was delivered to the table a while later...followed 5 minutes later by the second meal. A further 15 minutes passed until 3 of the other meals arrived. We were still one meal down so queried this. It turned out the order had been taken to the wrong table. The oblivious waiter didn't even apologise for this inconvenience. By now one of our parties had already finished their food and I wasn't far behind...10 minutes went by still no sign of the last meal. Again we went to the bar wondering about its whereabouts as nobody had been back to update us. 10 minutes later it finally arrived however everybody else had finished. Again there was no mention of the inconvenience or offer of a full refund. I therefore suggested if it would be possible for some kind of "freebie" such as a dessert for the whole table or at least for my friend who had been waiting. The manager bluntly without any means of compromise said this would not be possible and the only thing she could offer was one measly soft drink. This outcome therefore resulted in 6 very unhappy, dissatisfied customers! Needless to say we will not be returning and we will not be recommending dining at the white hart to anyone ever again!

We went in today (Saturday lunchtime) fully intending to stay for some food. We went to order a drink at the bar and the only other customer in there was paying for his drink. The barmaid was tutting and grumbling about having to open the cash bags in the till, never acknowledging us once or even a welcoming smile.Very limited choice of real ale, and my husbands choice was abruptly told his first choice was off and the barmaid didn't offer an alternative or suggestions. She never smiled once, and was more interested in chatting to a second barmaid who had just arrived.Unfriendly, no atmosphere and surly staff. Needless to say we drank up and went across the road The Boat Inn on Priory Street where we were greeted by friendly staff, good choice of beer and stayed for a great lunch.

The White Hart is a nice local pub with a great atmosphere for eating or just generally being. I went for some food at 6pm on a Sunday and we were allowed to order despite the fact that they stopped serving then. I was really grateful for this but the menu actually said that they served until 9 or 10pm (I can't remember) every day so be aware of that. The food was great value - obviously not the best I've ever eaten but a decent portion and nothing wrong with it at all. They were out of a few things that we tried to order but the pasta I ended up getting was really good anyway. I wish I'd have had room for pudding because there was a really wide range that sounded great. Service was faultless - really kind and attentive waitresses.

Because my husband and I have had lovely meals at a similar Greene King "Meet and Eat" pub in Suffolk we decided to give this one a try. BIG MISTAKE! The food was absolutely horrible, we both ordered 'sizzling meals' - these when ordered in Suffolk came to the table really sizzling and smelt and tasted delicious - at the White Hart they came to the table minus the sizzling and inedible. My husband ordered Sizzling Steak cooked "blue", it arrived "medium", I had sizzling chicken on skewers, the chicken was definitely not sizzling and was burnt and so hard that it was impossible to eat. We complained to a member of staff who said they would inform the Manager, they then returned to our table to say the Manager was busy and wouldn't come to see us.....VERY POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS GREENE KING.....and would not offer a reduction as the meals were cheap already.....£7.95 each for something you can't eat, I do not call this cheap, but we could have another meal cooked for us???? Surely this would cost more than offering a discount or refund! We declined this offer as we did not have the time to spare and did not for one minute think the second meal would be any better. We ate the chips...£15.90 for two portions of chips? Rather an extortionate price I think. A letter of complaint will be winging it's way to Greene King, it seems it is time for the company to consider some Manager and Chef Training.

The food at the white hart as always been excellent, hot, plentifull, and tasty, we have been now on several occasions as its quite close, but we would still go if it wasent to far away, we enjoy it. Its not the posh restaurant type place but the staff are alwys pleasant and helpfull. thanks to you all.

went to white hart on friday lunch for a change and decided to have hunters chicken and it was really nice would go and have again. I like the white hart as it is not expensive to eat and drinks are cheap. you can get a bottle of wine for 7.50 and staff are friendly.

Second time we have had lunch there as very close to Nottingham University and hence very convenient lunch venue after dropping off at beginning of term! Menu is fairly formulaic but good value. The real problem though was when we visited recently it took nearly an our to get our food. They had obviously messed up the processing of our order and we had to ask several times before our food arrived, by which time my daughter had lost appetite and my wife and I were thinking of the two and half hour journey home that lay ahead of us. I will add that bar staff were very apologetic but really too late by then.Pity, as it really does put us off going there again!

4/11/2011 been closed for a while , but now all done up and looking very smart , quite a lot of local history on the walls . Steak on a sizzler for me must have been over cooked it was tough , sent back , the 2nd one was no better if not worse , not sure if the pepper sauce with cheese worked . The wife's steak was okay !
