The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

A friendly and welcoming spot for excellent coffee and delicious food! We visited 3 times over the course of our stay in Melbourne and were made to feel welcome every time. The coffee is superb, the service is quick and friendly and the food is delightful; we sampled the hog roast sausage roll, panini, filled egg roll in addition to raspberry and coconut cake and an almond croissant. We hope to visit Fortey's again on our next stay in Melbourne!

Really nice people, lovely ambience. Ordered an oasis breakfast, food was cooked to high standard but was ruined by by the bacon coming buried and covered in tomatoes and beans which were all mixed in to each other.

Last minute order due to being let down by another company, called up and the lady on the phone was lovely and went out their way to help us out! I can’t thank everyone there enough all the sandwiches were eaten and everyone enjoyed them!

Do not purchase the luxury hot chocolate it arrives in a smaller size than the regular hot chocolate. Lukewarm and certainly nothing to write home about.

Tuvimos nuestra boda en The Carriage Hall el 21 / 03 / 2025 y solo wow qué día! De principio a fin el día fue perfecto! Cada huésped día y noche dijo lo irreal que era la comida. El servicio era simplemente perfecto! ¡Muchas gracias a Callum & Sarah por hacer que nuestro día fuera según lo planeado y no sentir que nada era un problema! Las cabañas del Shepard eran tan cómodo, limpio y tan agradable! Y el desayuno en el bar Perkins a la mañana siguiente fue simplemente increíble! ¡Estoy pensando en reservar uno de los Shepard's hurts para nuestro aniversario de 1 año de calle! (Cualquier excusa para volver a visitar The Carriage Hall) Desde que tuvimos nuestra primera reunión con Mel al principio hasta el final, se trató tan bien. Todo fue rápido y muy bien organizado. El apoyo que recibimos también, ayudó masivamente con los nervios y el estrés! ¡Ya estoy pensando en contratar el lugar para mis 30! Recomiendo encarecidamente este hermoso lugar de boda a cualquiera! ¡Gracias a todos en The Carriage hall por hacer nuestro día perfecto!

I had the most amazing meal, the service was excellent, delivered by extremely helpful and friendly server's. The advice and expertise was very helpful and much appreciated. I have already recommended this to everyone I know as well as planning a return visit.

A lovely meal at The white hart ... The rib eye steak was exceptional melt in your mouth 😋... Good home cooked food we all enjoyed .. lovely friendly owner/ chef would highly recommend !

We were driving past, on my mum’s 81st birthday, and we decided to look in and see if they had a table for lunch. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Really great service and customer care, plus the food was divine. Superb stuff, particularly as we ordered in the bar and then went through to a beautiful dining room, which we had not been expecting. Will definitely go again. We all enjoyed it and my mum had a brilliant birthday lunch of scampi in a basket, which she devoured.

What can I say, again we had such a great meal. Super staff, attentive polite this is our go to Restaurant, never fails to deliver.

We ordered the scrumptious afternoon tea for two for collection and it was incredible. Not only were the treats amazingly tasty, but the service was excellent and very friendly. Thanks you!!!

This pub is on britstops for rough camping We stayed in our car in the car park for a few hours over night as my hubby had a 4 o’clock checking at EMA we arrived at 5.30 watched TV had our meal which was Perfect pork chop on a bed of mash veg and an apple fritter. Chicken curry Very nice food pudding were excellent also after which we had a few hours sleep in the car park in their car park At 3.30 we drove 15 mins to airport worked very well. Friendly welcome nice staff good food for £60 pounds we have home cocked very nice food and drinks somewhere to park and sleep. Well worth the visit for camper vans small they suggest you ring first to ensure there is a spot for you Thank you all for a fab evening and letting us use your facilities. They also have rooms in a little house outside if you don’t want to sleep in the car. Highly recommend either for a day out or an evening for rough campers just have a bit to eat and a drink to support them

We have been to the restaurant once before and really wanted to experience the wonderful taster experience again. Having travelled from South Wales to Lincolnshire it once again exceeded expectations. Amazing food, amazing people and amazing ethos. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant .
