The Barley Mow in East Lindsey

We went for dinner last night, with another couple. My wife had the belly pork....it was delicious and the crackling was so lovely. Our friends had sreak, cooked to perfection. I had the Mexican chicken salad.....THE best salad I have ever had. Nice staff. The owner was lovely, and came to chat. If you're in the area, you must try the Barley Mow.

Sunday lunch and my daughters birthday. Our first visit and my goodness it was absolutely amazing. We arrived late due to chaos in Boston, but everything was fine. We are lucky to have some good eateries locally, but this one was outstanding. Fabulous food, lovely atmosphere and you can take your dog too. Can't wait to return. Thank you 😊

We are not from the area, but visit once a year around this time. Always ensure that we pay a visit to the Barley Mow. A very warm welcome awaits from Jayne and her team. Who consistently provide lovely food cooked to perfection. We opted for the set menu and had 2 courses for £21 which is excellent value. Until next year.....

This sunday just gone we paid a visit to this wonderful restaurant/ pub, we booked in advance as i wanted to take my little dog with me and wanted to make sure we would be able to be seated in their dog friendly area in the bar. From start to finish we had a wonderful experience, so welcoming and accommodating and even got a dog bowl with water for my dog on arrival. We ordered off the lunch menu and had the roast, wow it was so delicious! and the wait time was not long at all. the meat was cooked to perfection and the roast potato’s were delicious!. the menu has many options which is great. would 100% recommend for any occasion, staff are amazing and food is spot on!. definitely dog friendly.

I opted for the Grimsby Haddock and Chips with mushy peas, the food was edible but disappointing. The fish had very little flavour and frankly you'd be better off nipping to Sainsbury and buying battered haddock off the shelf and cooking it yourself. I'm unsure how the chips were cooked but would be surprised if they had seen a deep fat frier, they had a peculiarly hard texture and again lacked in flavour. The mushy peas were surprisingly good having a slight hint of mint. The menu is a quite run of the mill and there isn't much to excite. I ate at this pub 10 year or so ago and the menu was so good I ordered 4 desserts and the cheese board. This time I decided to forgo the dessert options as none excited me and the cheese board, alas, is no more The staff were very friendly and attentive and the pub has a nice atmosphere.

The food was nice but average, expensive dining, good range of beers. Lovely looking pub spoilt by old tin shed next-door !!

If you want a roast dinner in Lincolnshire you won’t get any better than the Mow. 5 of us went last Sunday and once again it was so so good. We had a mix of starters and then lamb, beef and chicken roasts. Plenty of meat on the plate and lots of veg. Fresh. Piping hot and amazingly tasty. You just can’t beat the Mow

We had a lovely late Sunday lunch (3.45 pm) with our daughter and her family. The food was perfect as it always is and it was great to be able to go later in the day. At the moment I’m in a wheelchair and had felt anxious but needn’t have worried as it was the easiest place we’ve ever been to for accessibility. Our granddaughter 10 was wanting an alternative to the roast and there was a huge selection for her to choose from. The service was excellent too.

My boyfriend surprised me with a trip here for our 2nd anniversary and we were not disappointed!! We started the meal by taking a seat in the bar area with our drinks whilst looking over the menu, the drinks are a bit pricey but the food made up for these prices. I had a Rosey Nosey bitter which was a great xmas special, whilst Kade opted for guinness as per usual. We were soon taken to a table in the conservatory area after our order was taken and i had the garlic mushroom starter which simply melted on the tongue! Kade had the camembert, which he said was also incredible! Onto mains, we were asked for sauces after our starters which were promptly given to us! They have the most amazing garlic mayo there which is homemade!! This went incredibly with the burger that I had, which was so delicious and so vast in size! Kade chose the lamb which was beautifully pink and served with a potato which the owner/manager on shift told us was a mini shepherds pie! A lot of thought had clearly gone into their presentation. Finally for desserts, we both chose the creme brûlée which was simply magnificent! I’ve never seen a restaurant around us do a creme brûlée let alone a delicious chocolate creme brûlée!! We will definetly be back again!!

100% satisfaction in all aspects. Could not have asked for more. If you are going on a fault finding mission you will be bitterly dissapointed.

Booked our work Christmas party for 28 people on a Saturday night. Once again the venue was set up amazingly well for us and we had the whole conservatory to ourselves. We are regulars as a family and have held our Xmas party here for the last few years, reason being there is not a better restaurant around. The place has it all. Great staff, beautiful venue and without a doubt the most outstanding food you can find. This place is a must if you want to have a fantastic meal for a couples night out, family or party. Came across this place traveling on business so decided to stop for lunch, the lady behind the bar wasn’t a happy sole and seemed to be rushing around even though the place was quite empty. I ordered fish and chips, which took a while to come out. The batter was quite different to what Id say “normal fish batter” was. Seems a flat batter, the fish was big in size but have to say it was tasteless and was poorly presented. Wouldn’t return or recommend.

The food was absolutely delicious, we all had 3 course and could not find fault with any of the dishes. The staff and front of house were super friendly and professional. Bottle of cab sav was exceptional. Top place, well worth the drive but be sensible, good pubs gain their reputation by word of mouth so please book to avoid disappointment.

It does not matter how many times we come to this restaurant, the venue, service and food are truly faultless. You will honestly not find a better restaurant in Lincolnshire. Thanks again for a stunning Sunday lunch

Well, what can I say, what an amazing meal, faultless, everything was cooked to perfection, every member of staff were friendly, professional, service was excellent, prices very reasonable, wait to go back.

The prawn starter as you know is our absolute favourite and you cannot get better anywhere. Don’t know we’re to start. I’m a head chef in a branded pub that took 2million in food sales last year. So I’m not writing a review not knowing what I’m on about. This has to be by far the best food I’ve had for as long as I can remember everything was fresh full of flavour and ingredients used were of high quality. My wife had the Lamb rump and she has a milk allergy and they changed the dish to suit her allergy. I had the pie it was full of meat that melted in your mouth. I not a huge fan of veg as find it can be tasteless and boring. But the veg served with both dishes was full of flavour cooked exactly like it should be and I could have eaten a second portion it was that good. My 5 year old had sausage and mash from the kids menu. Two large sausages good size portion of mash and really good portion of veg (£7 I think) what was even more impressive with the kids meal it wasn’t some just cheap sausage was really meaty and extremely tasty. I presume the lady we were talking to who I’m guessing is owner/ manager said they use the Boston Sausage rather than a Lincolnshire sausage as they are less herby and children prefer less herby sausage. Some real thought had gone into the children’s menu as well as the rest of the menu. It’s not the largest of menus. But there plenty on there to choose from and every dish we had everything on each dish was cooked to perfection. I hope you see this review and share with everyone in the team because like I said at the start of the review I can’t remember having a meal as good as this for a long long time. Visiting the area for a short break and went to the Barley Mow for a Sunday lunch based on recommendations on here and info from our accommodation. Advise booking as we got the one table left when I called the previous day- it will be well worth it! Fantastic Sunday lunch (we had the beef topside) it was cooked perfectly and all the trimmings were perfect. Had the homemade cheesecake and other half had the pecan pie- both were great. Our daughter (15 months) had the sausages and she seemed to like them too! The service was good and the staff were brilliant! A really warm welcome and made us feel super relaxed (not easy with a toddler) and were really helpful with any request we had. Worth travelling a bit for even if you’re not in the area. As an extra note- of all the places we’ve visited of late this one has by far felt the most Covid safe without compromising on your experience. Doing all the right things while still making sure you have a ‘normal’ time.

I just want to pass my thanks on publicly to Jayne and her staff at the Barley Mow for arranging a meal out voucher and booking a table for my daughter and my would-be-son-in-law. They should have got married last week, but due to current circumstances, had to postpone. They still went on their honeymoon though and ended their holiday with a fantastic meal at the Barley Mow. My daughter said it was a really lovely evening and they thoroughly enjoyed their delicious meals. My future son-in-law said it was the perfect end to a great week. We called after reading the reviews. This place is so popular. As we had not booked we ate in the bar but this was fine. The food was excellent we had the early tea menu (5.30-7.30) 2 courses for £15.00 or 3 courses for £18. I had pan fries hake with potatoes and vegetables ( carrots, broccoli leeks and cauliflower cheese) and my husband had gammon he loved the chipsIt was so tasty hot and fresh and served so quickly. Our dessert was homemade lemo lime and ginger cheesecake the lightest I have ever tasted. I highly recommend having a meal here.

The Bride & Groom were accomodated in an excellent manner, all set up in a marquee. The guests enjoyed the whole day & evening. Meals were expertly served & considering the numbers, were very hot.

We had a great meal at the Barley Mow. The restaurant is out in the country but easy to get to and I had an appetizer and a seafood pie that were both very tasty and filling.
