The Mansion House in East Lindsey

My partner and I visited the Mansion House last night for dinner. The food was exceptional, the building was stunning, and the staff were lovely - we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome as soon as we entered. What a special place.

Turned up without booking and the staff, as always, try to fit you in. The food is excellent as always. 👌

Great location, full of drama in the setting, recommend

Food absolutely amazing. Twice baked soufflé to dye for. Chill crispy beef blows you away. Salmon tagliatelle mouth watering. Good old sausage and mash. White cheesecake with fruit and lemon curd ice cream so light. Tia Maria Panna cotta not to be missed. Building is amazing great history. Staff very friendly and happy.

Course after course of excellent food served with a smile from the staff. We were seated next to the garden window which was lovely to look out of.

The Mansion House - Where exceptional is standard . Wow - absolutely the best place to eat in Louth . Our favourite place , delicious food and excellent service . Wonderful ambience and their coffee is exceptional . Would give 10 stars if I could .

What a pleasure to dine here. I am lucky enough to have eaten out a lot in recent months across Europe and this was the best meal yet. Prices for a main course were around 20-30 pounds, and while this is not unusual, the fact that this was well worth the money was unusual! Also the building itself, just take a little time to look around you, ask about its history as a library, a jail a meeting house and before and imagine what it would have been like. Plus - excellent service. A genuinely well earned 5 stars.

Absolutely wonderful meal. The history of the building is incredible & the owner has done a fantastic job fixing up the place. We had two vegans in the group & the servers made a point to remember, which is always much appreciated. Plenty of vegan/veggie options and everyone’s dishes were delicious. The vegan hazelnut and chocolate cheesecake was especially divine. A very special place!

The lamb shank was out of this world

Really lovely friendly place, serving generous portions of interesting and very tasty food. We had a lunch with 6 fairly fussy adults who were all very satisfied 👏🤗 The only slight point we felt was that the nature of the building and decor makes it echoey and quite noisy when busy.

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch/ Dinner here in this wonderful building. Situated right by a beautiful church, The Mansion House is the perfect place to eat. The menu is well thought out, and I wanted to try everything. The staff were all lovely and helpful,It was my Mums birthday and they gave her a candle in her dessert which was nice. There is also a nice little garden out back to sit and let your food go down with a nice view of the church there. Could not fault anything, so thank you, and I will be back if ever I'm in Louth again 👍🏼

Can't believe that we haven't visited The Mansion House before, despite people telling us to go. 4 of us had a lovely lunch, the food was very good, staff were attentive and helpful and the setting is lovely, will definitely visit again soon.

My daughter treat me & mum- in- law for birthday lunches. I've never been before but mum-in-law had just for coffee. Food was fresh and tasty. Quite big portions and food looked well presented on the plate. Great staff as they were quite busy, very attentive. Plenty of space between tables so you didn't feel too squished as some places are. Beautiful interior of an old building with a relaxing atmosphere. Would definitely be back again soon and we're planning a family Christmas lunch.

A delightful and atmospheric place with friendly, knowledgeable staff who effortlessly exude professional service. Well cooked and presented food and very well prepared coffee. Busy at lunchtime with many tables reserved, a testament to it's popularity.

The Mansion House is becoming our local go to restaurant! We began popping in for breakfast , then tried lunch (which was just as delicious) and now, with vegetarian friends coming to visit, I have confidently booked dinner. Although there is already an extensive vegetarian menu, Andrew tells me that an extra special choice will be available as they know that there will be vegetarian guests.

Visited with friends for Sunday lunch; was the nicest Sunday lunch I've had out in a long time! Two of our party were vegetarian and they were well catered for. Good portion sizes. Great choice of desserts, which were delicious. Our only complaint? We couldn't fit 3 courses in so we had to choose between a starter and a dessert (dessert won, but the starters sounded lovely too and we were very tempted)! Great service from attentive staff.

I have eaten ham multiple times for family celebrations and lunches out and the Food and service is always amazing. Lovely place to eat, but don’t just have the same thing as I fell into the trap of doing as they do specials that are also delicious. It is just hard to believe that everything will be as nice as the first time, but it really is.

Met an old friend for lunch today and we were both impressed by the menu choices and quality of food. The service was great and the restaurant itself was light, airy and spacious even though the temperature outside was 27degrees. Will definitely recommend to friends and visit again.

Called on spec Saturday lunch time. Pleasant, helpful waitress found us a table and ensured we were served in time to make a 2pm appointment elsewhere in town. Charming elegant surroundings, delicious food and special vegan menu which impressed our vegan.

Never been before and what a little treasure of a place. Warm greeting on arrival, really pleasant and smiley staff and efficient service. Food was delicious and would definitely recommend this place 👌 especially loved the open fire.

I have dined in this restaurant many times. It is excellent in every respect. The proprietor, Andrew Lennard is always present, always plays a hands on role and is always pleasant and very efficient.

First time we have visited The Mansion House. Went there for lunch last week. Great food, really great value for money. Fantastic service, very friendly staff. The building itself is great, very high ceilings. Pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely be going again to check out the other Vegan options.

Popped in today with a friend without booking, able to get a table. Had an omelette- would recommended! Came with salad, homemade Coleslaw and chips! Very good quality produce & filling. Nice surroundings & friendly staff.

Not been for a while as usually go out on the spur of the moment and trust me if your like us make sure you book well in advance as always busy. We had a Sea Bass and Sunday Roast which was beautifully presented and a pleasure to eat. Service was spot on and we look forward to booking a slot again soon. 👍

Living in the area, my wife and I have tried the majority of eateries. We have walked past the Mansion House many times and not given it a second thought, but last night we went for the first time. The outside doesn’t particularly look special but as soon as you enter you are hit with the wow factor. A friendly greeting and escorted to our table. The food was all fresh and to a high standard. I had the steak for main, cooked to perfection. Accompanied with seasonal vegetables and roast potatoes. Often desserts are a let down but not here. We couldn’t fault the service or food. Will be going back!

Can't fault The Mansion House .. lunch menu was excellent, staff lovely and the bill much less than you'd expect . The chefs obviously know their trade well, and the deserts were especially good.

We went to the Mansion House for our 56th wedding anniversary, we got there half an hour early but were seated straight away and served with drinks. Our order was taken about 10 mins later. The food when it came was excellent and portions were quite large with added potatoes and vegetables. The menu was quite varied with all fish, meat and vegetarian options. We were quite full so were not going to have desert but changed our minds. The deserts were lovely and we were so full after that it was difficult to move. The Maitre de was very attentive and the waitresses were very efficient and friendly. We will be going back but this time with our daughter and her husband as she is vegetarian and the Mansion house offers something really different for her, not just veggie lasagne and rissoto but a really nice choice. We had a great night and even met some new friends. I also have to say that the whole restaurant had a nice ambience with a lovely roaring fire.

Charming venue, very friendly and personable hosts and absolutely 10/10 food. I highly recommend the pork dish in the Chorizo broth accompanied by a glass of Malbec.

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday. They were busy but fit us in and we had a delicious meal.

I stopped here for lunch and was impressed by the magnificent building and its Georgian interior. The restauarxt was very well patronised and I was glad I had booked: the menu was unostentatious, as it was a lunch one..there is a separate, more sophisticated, dinner menu for evening visits. I had fish and chips..all piping hot, twice cooked chips and beautifully moist, flakey battered haddock and mushy peas, accompanied by a double ginger beer, as I was driving. There were other items on the menu which I shall savour on a return visit..some of the other dishes I saw being served looked very tempting.

The floor staff were friendly, engaging and highly efficient, with brisk attentive service. We initially booked for Sunday lunch ..... it was so good that we returned again mid-week for lunch. Memorable for all the right reasons ..... absolutely first class.

My first visit to The Mansion House and I cannot wait to return for the next one! A fabulously fluffy, Poacher cheese soufflé for starters. Flavoursome, succulent ribeye steak cooked to perfection followed by the most glorious brown sugar meringue … wow! A memorable treat for both me and my visiting nephew … oh, and did I mention the gin? Fantastic venue for a special occasion meal. Excellent food and service within a relaxed, informal atmosphere set in beautiful period surroundings. Thank you Mansion House 😊

We all had a superb meal yesterday, the food was perfect, served incredibly quickly considering the variety of dishes and piping hot. Portion sizes were VERY generous and we all tasted each others at the end. Three of us bailed out on dessert but we all had a taster of the lemon tart, chocolate brownie and key lime cheesecake, all utterly delicious. Rose wine was very palatable, and good quality for the price. Staff were attentive and welcoming. Two things I noticed, the lady with dark hair came and asked if I wanted more dressing on my salad because I specifically asked for it to be on the side and she thought I may run out and secondly I overheard her and the other lady talking about a party of ladies who had wandered into the garden and were trying to take a selfie... She said should we pop out and offer to take a photo of them, which they kindly did without being asked. Very attentive! Good proper service, wonderful food and spot on for value. We will be back next time we visit Louth!

You can't fault the food or the serving staff, but....... The Owner/Msnagement could do with some trsining in customer service. What a miserable unpleasant man. Even if he wS having a bad day he should know better.

Classic surroundings with a delightful menu with some delicious options. Staff were friendly and professional. We came here a while ago for a wedding breakfast, so it was nice to revisit for some lunch. One to visit again.

They say you get what you pay for. At the Mansion House, you pay more than your average chain restaurants and you get more. A lot more. The food is exquisite. The staff are faultless. The building is unique. You should visit The Mansion House once in your life. It's worth it.

You have no idea how lovely the restaurant is from outside, biggest surprise when you open the door, it takes a minute or so to take it all in. The owner/host was gracious and welcoming, the waiting staff were adorable, our table was next to an open fire, the food was so different to the usual restaurant fare and completely delicious. It was a unique experience rather than going out for dinner. Can't recommend more highly.

I have eaten at this restaurant numerous times, both for lunch and dinner and I have always had excellent food and service. The building is beautiful and service is always first class. The menu is amazing, it changes regularly and always has a good selection. If you like good food, superbly presented, then this restaurant is for you

Dined on a Saturday lunchtime. We hadn't booked, but made very welcome, very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable staff. The home-cooked ham with eggs andchips were excellent, as was the Lincolnshire Poacher souffle. Magnificent building - very atmospheric and really warm. Will definitely return!

The Mansion House restaurant is located in a splendid looking Georgian building which fronts onto the pavement of Upgate. Once through the black double doors we climbed a small flight of steps and entered the restaurant. We were faced with a central table located immediately through the doors on which stood a delightful floral display. We had been invited for Sunday lunch by a couple of dear friends and on arrival we were greeted by the proprietor Andrew with a smile and he led us directly to our table for four next to the blazing fire. The room itself is a delight: very roomy and light and airy due to the spectacular glazed roof. In various niches around the restaurant marble busts stand, each wearing a quirky top hat! Our friends ordered a bottle of Merlot as we perused the menu of starters and mains. The menu has just the right number of dishes on it, enough to give you a good choice but not too much to over-tax the kitchen. I chose the Lincolnshire Poacher and wholegrain mustard twice-baked souffle as did Mrs Wanderer and one other. Our other companion went for the Crispy Duck Gyoza Dumplings with an oriental broth, pea shoots and roasted cashew nuts. For the mains I went for the pan-fried seabass with a chorizo sauce whilst the others variously chose the roast topside of beef and roast loin of pork. The room was well occupied but the service was attentive and the starters arrived quite quickly. One thing I would say is that everything was hot and the portions substantial. No skimping here. The souffle was beautifully cooked and the poacher cheese came through well. Our companion enjoyed his dumplings having admitted he’d never tried them before. The broth was rich and tasty as was the sauce surrounding the souffle’s. Our mains followed in short order and I was impressed with the presentation of my seabass. This turned out to be the ‘lighter’ choice for the main, which I was happy with. The roast beef and pork dishes arrived and again there was no skimping with regard to the quantity or quality of meat. The roast topside had been beautifully cooked to the requested ‘medium’ and all the dishes were served with shared sides of freshly cooked vegetables and roast potatoes. I avoided those, preferring the lighter option after the souffle of simply vegetables but they looked to be very well cooked. We were pleasantly full after our mains and all four of us declined the dessert choices although they looked wonderful. All-in-all a lovely visit and one to be repeated quite regularly I think. Visited the Mansion House for Sunday lunch while staying in the area for the weekend. The whole experience did not disappoint from the warm welcome to the delicious food. I would thoroughly recommend the roast dinner (the beef was exceptional). There were four of us and we each enjoyed our choices - the puddings were fab too. Will most definitely be back next time we visit the area.

Fabulous food and service. Staff are super friendly and efficient. Today, I had their incredibly hard to beat cheese soufflé, followed by Date Pudding with Whiskey Toffee sauce. Everyone at the table enjoyed their choices and we will be back .....
