The Brown Cow in East Lindsey

Really nice pub we have been in a few times. The owners have plenty of time to chat and be polite. The ales are really nice quickly becoming one of my favourite pubs in louth.

On the off chance we decided to treat ourselves to a Sunday lunch st the Brown Cow. We've been there several times before for lunch but usually in the bar. This time we decided to try the restaurant. You are always best to ring and book because it is popular. The food was excellent with very generous, well presented and cooked food. Absolutely spot on, faultless. A good range of drinks too. I would highly recommend this venue. Parking is on the road outside of pub.

My wife and I went for Sunday lunch again and what a treat it was. I had Rib of beef which was tasty and melt in the mouth. Annette had the roast pork which was delicious, homemade Yorkshire pudding roast potatoes and plenty of fresh vegetables. Desserts were homemade too and hit the spot. We tried a couple of the real ales that were on offer in their cask ale week they were great what a choice ! The Brown Cow is a proper pub with a warm welcome from all the staff always....everything a good pub should be. Looking forward to our next visit. PS We can highly reccomend their Thursday night "Pie Night"

One of the nicest evenings ever. Very friendly staff. Lovely pies on Thursday Pie Night. Steak and Stilton for the latest wife and Pork and Black Pudding for me. Sank a pint and a halt of a a wonderful guest ale for me and a bottle of Savignon Blanc for the missus. What a gem of a place. If you are ever in Louth this is a must-visit place ..!

So pleased we called here for food when in Louth! We were there on a Thursday which is pie night, I had the chicken pie which was very good, home made chips are always a winner too! I asked for a side of gravy, I think it's the best gravy I've ever had! I would definitely recommend it!

Thursday pie night is unbelievable. Pork belly and black pudding pie, chips and mushy peas with a little extra gravy. The best pub meal I've had in a long time. The pie had amazing flavour, belly pork melted in my mouth and the gravy was something else. Dog friendly in the bar and outdoors, staff helpful and everything very fairly priced. If I'm ever back in the area I will return.

Great pub, very friendly staff, can't recommend highly enough

Took a group of men & women to Market Rasen for ladies day, they were a great bunch of people, and Mr Hoppe was one of the nicest I've met. I hope to see you all again,

Been today for Sunday Lunch, it was very very good , all fresh vegetables LOVLEY mash, LOVLEY yorkshires, also the Gravy was just as we like it also the beef was mouthwatering. Thank you.

What a delightful little pub, it has that homely feel to it. Could not fault the scampi and chips ,- perfect! The cider was delicious. Service excellent. A rarity these days. Well worth a visit if you're up this way.

Didn't have any food. Like the old Bass memorabila around the pub. My father-in-law used to be a drayman. Traditional old style pub, good atmosphere.

Lovely little pub. Dog friendly and a great selection of real Ale. We had the Haddock and chips, and it was soo good. Real chips (fresh not frozen), the batter was so light and fish cooked perfectly. Excellent service too, so we'll definitely be coming back.

Excellent traditionallocal English pub in Louth Lincolnshire. Not far from the town centre. Situated about 10 mile from Cadwell Park motor racing circuit. Inexpensive, home cooked food at weekends, with a great selection of beers. Highly recommend.

I was playing here for a private event, but all the staff were very friendly, & the food was excellent. A very nice pub, with a relaxed atmosphere.

Excellent pub with very friendly and welcoming staff. We went for a Sunday roast dinner - the beef was excellent and there were lots of vegetables. Very good real ales. Seating in the bar or the restaurant and some covered seating outside too. I would probably describe the restaurant as comfortable rather than cosy. Best to check opening times before you go.

In my opinion, the Brown Cow is simply the best pub in Louth.

Lovely food (somewhere that does a tasty cheese and onion pie!), and a couple of good beers on tap. Will definitely be back.

Just popped in for a couple of drinks. No food service on Monday or Tuesday. Very dog friendly. Gorgeous selection of very well kept beers.

Brilliant Pub, fantastic food, great atmosphere

We found this pub based on previous excellent reviews and were not disappointed. Went with friends and ordered traditional items, fish and chips, steak and Stilton pie, all well cooked, all very generous portions, both quality and quantity. Recommended.

Excellent local pub serving excellent food. Situated in the market town of Louth in the Lincolnshire Woulds and close to Cadwell Park. Well worth a visit.

Excellent food, great beer, friendly traditional local pub. We visited for a pub lunch, and the pub was busy and welcoming. A good selection of homemade food to choose from. We chose the haddock and chips and large fish finger sandwiches. Lovely food, not a frozen chip in sight. Highly recommend.

First visit ever today we both had pies one steak & stilton and cheese and onion.Lovely chilled wine and fantastic beer.We shall definitely be back to try more.Very friendly staff.Thank you so much makes a lovely change to feel that you haven't been ripped off.

Lovely lunch, recommend the Thai Red Vegetable Curry.

Excellent selection of beer, was able to taste before buying. Party of 6. Three had fish & chips all agreed it was the best they had tasted. One chicken & chorizo & one steak & stilton both excellent. One ham egg & chips also excellent. Six sweets again couldn't fault. Overall all the party really enjoyed their meals & would return.

Good choice of real ale well worth a visit. Still on form with the ale. Faultless.. Great ale well done.

It’s my local ——- and am I blessed! I would recommend this pub with restaurant to any and every body. The bar is well stocked, the staff are first rate, the food ie really, really good. Well done Victoria and Nigel. You’ve got it sussed…… lots of imaginative ideas to ensure it is a friendly local with edge.

Great hospitality from Nigel and his staff who made sure we were comfortable and happy. Lovely pint and our meals were absolutely superb. Great value, had Sunday diner, proper fresh veg perfectly cooked, meat was fantastic and again cooked to perfection. Also the proper pie was wonderful and great portions. Couldn’t recommend highly enough, thank you.

Superb cooked beef and pork with crackling to die for. Always offer extra gravy, and veg always changing. First sprouts of the year, only problem too full for pud!!

This is a fabulous pub. Family run, a wonderful local but welcoming atmosphere, good range of well priced beef, but it’s the food which embodies Great British pub food that sets it apart. Classics very well, freshly prepared. The fish and chips are legendary locally and the beef and Stilton pie a feast. Great chips garden peas with a pint on Landlord jobs a good’en!

Good ale's and BBQ for a birthday

Only a 10 minute walk out of town to this CAMRA Good Beer Guide regular. (Stop half way for the Boars Head...or on return leg!) On a junction into town so the sunny beer garden is a bit noisy. Nice locals bar. Excellent pint of Taylor's Landlord.

Fabulous local pub, wonderful publicans and staff, great beers, lovely homemade food and excellent outside facilities with external heating.

I had chicken and choriso pie. It was delicious and packed full of chicken. Mum had fish and chips and said it was among the best ever. Friendly host and great service.

My wife and Called in following recommendations from friends. A really good little pub. Great outside seating area. The fish and chips were as good as the best that can be found in Grimsby/ Cleethorpes. Reasonable prices. Not far from Cadwell Park. Definately will come again. Dave and Jill from Grimsby.

We went to the brown cow just for a drink one sunday afternoon and the atmosphere was so welcoming. So much so we went back the following week and then yesterday decided to go for a meal. The quality was great. The staff really friendly and we were made to feel welcome. I had the steak pie, which was full of meat. The veg were cooked perfectly and the chips were crisp and the gravy was lovely. A in all a great night.

Two Fridays us and our friends have visited for lunch, and what a treat!! Amazing fish and chips! that good our friends have done a 2 hour round trip for them!! Our new local as just moved into the area. Great staff, friendly and quick! The pub is well stocked with plenty to choose from drinks wise. Friendly locals what more can you ask for on your doorstep!! Roll on the summer!

Friendly traditional pub that does great food. I would recommend a visit.

Not being a regular pub goer, normally visit on holidays, I would say the pub was on the smallish size, but busy with customers, which is good. We went on a recommendation. The food was very good and reasonably priced. Kitchen closes at 8pm and I think 9pm on fridays and Saturdays. Pub open till 11pm I think. Would visit again if in the area.

Lovely beer fantastic sunday lunch

A cracking little pub with a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. The owners make you feel so welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The food is very, very good, perfect roast beef it literally melts in your mouth. They have created a lovely beer garden area with pods and big umbrellas that I think are a real asset. We visited as a family and they catered well for the kids and made a fuss of our dog who really enjoyed one of the doggy Jammie dodgers! Genuinely one of the best pubs in Louth and well worth a visit - I cannot think of anything negative at all, it’s a really good pub and gets 5 stars from us!

We had reason to be in Louth to see a relative and decided on The Brown Cow for dinner. We sat outside on the lovely terrace, my partner had a vegetarian burger which she said was superb, I had fish and chips. The piece of fish was superb but the best bit was real chips from a potato, not a packet. But not these daft huge great chunky chips which you sometimes get, the right size and fried superbly. We spoke to the owners as well who were a lovely couple. I couldn't recommend this pub more highly if you are in the area and want a decent well run pub with great home cooked food.

Been here for Sunday lunch a few times before (which is very good with a good selection of food).Myself and my girlfriend thought the food on Burns night was very good, the steaks were lovely.Tried the Haggis and really enjoyed it.Overall the evening was very enjoyable, we would recommend anybody giving it a try whether for sunday lunch, pie night or a relaxed evening meal.The staff are all very welcoming and friendly.The young man who serves on a Sunday and was serving on Burns night is always friendly, polite and professional.

Called In on off chance and pleasantly surprised. Warm welcome by hosts and locals and had a nice "feel" about the place. It was "pie night" and we indulged and enjoyed our choices which include a vegitaren meal. Would have liked a new potato option rather than just chips or mash. Will call in again without doubt.

Pubs are all about atmosphere - which, ultimately means it's about the personality of the people who run them. That is precisely why the Brown Cow is the best pub in Louth. The bar staff are way about just pouring pints - even when it's really busy, they all have time to be more than just pint pullers and in the landlord they have an absolute gem of man - witty, chatty and 100% hospitable. If you are visiting Louth - or even if you are a 'local', you will get the best reception in the Cow.

We love this pub, the staff and owners are very friendly, and the drinks are reasonably priced. Xxx
