The best restaurants serving British food in South Kesteven East Midlands

The MH within the grounds of Grimsthorpe is the sole food outlet, excluding ice cream . We arrived lunchtime and most of their menu had sold out, reducing the choice. 2 coffees a bacon sandwich and a sausage bap was ordered. After a short wait they arrived in tin foil. The bacon was cremated and rock hard. The sausage bap, the sausages were partially cooked resulting most of the bacon and the white bread was discarded and some of the sausages not eaten. A poor show at £15.60.

Awesome... I really have been there, done that, from a dollar street banquet to Shimla pinks, I didn't think I was going to get a great spicy, risky hot meal when I moved here. If you want something mild, this is the place, if you want to cry and sweat in pain (or just clear your hay fever) just let them know, great staff, great cooks. Simple - its great, fresh and - great. doesn't need to be anything else, great is perfect.

Such good value - Excellent all round. The quality and freshness of the food is second to none. Friendly as well. And enough staff to handle the queue.

Great bread not doughy makes lovely toast n never ill as have ibs n bad stomach n can't eat bread normally so this does it for me so I can get to eat my toast yippee freezes well too very light n tastes gd all I can say is thanku as after 17 yrs of bn ill with bakery products I can now eat your white tin bread with jam delicious 😄

Been eating there since 2015 always been satisfied but after booking a table a week before no table reserved put on a table not set up and the experience got worse 30 minutes wait for meal after it came we were then ignored this was my mother's day meal as my daughter on holiday next week

Absolutely wonderful! The George is the perfect place to experience Afternoon Tea. Beautifully furnished, decorated, warm and welcoming. The staff were wonderful and the food delicious and fresh. Cannot recommend this experience enough.

Starters was absolutely perfect Main course was absolutely shocking. Wouldn’t have food in there again. Would not recommend it to friends and family.

Great place to meet in daytime for snack coffee catch up with friends

Just had Sunday lunch here and it was very good. Great portion sizes, well cooked and well presented. Service was top notch. Friendly and polite which runs in nicely with the theme they seem to be going for. Nailed it guys. We will be back to try the normal menu soon

Went in on a busy Friday lunchtime, has certainly been done up since I last went in. Friendly staff, good range of drinks including ales (still do Tiger from Everards). Food was delicious and seemed to be homemade, it’s a combination of traditional pub grub and also some things slightly different such as quiche which I enjoyed

Just off of the main street in Baston, is this Gorgeous and very Inviting Pub and Restaurant. I ventured inside and was very pleased at how Incredible the Decor and over all look of an Old Fashioned but with a modern twist 2025. This Lovely Establishment has Guest Wi-Fi and also has on the Bar, peanuts and nibbles for it's Patron's that come to visit. Excellent and Generous Selection of Good Quality Beers/Ales and a Good Selection of Wines and Ciders. I chose for my Pint, a Pint of Rutland Beast brewed by Oakham Ales. I really Enjoyed my Pint. Had very Good Conversation with the Owner and Landlord. I really Enjoyed myself. I will be coming back for visit. I Recommend most Highly you come Try out this little Gem of Baston/Lincolnshire. The room I stayed in had no heater in the bathroom and it was -2°c outside so it was very cold, there was no shower and not enough hot water to fill the very narrow bath. Breakfast was in a cupboard in the room and I had to make myself. The host was friendly and helpful . For 85 pounds I would expect more

What a great tea rooms , we have been using this for over 10 years with between 20 to 30 of us , they are great , top class. I take many people to tea rooms and this is one of the best
