The food for Sunday lunch was first class, service first class and the ambience great. Money well spent. This is a hidden gem I highly recommend you visit, I am a very critical person but today I found nothing to moan about . Outstanding , well done.

Stopped there on the off chance. Impressed by the large car park which is unusual. Greeted and seated by Michelle. Inside was typical Olde Worldy decor but not unpleasant. We were served by Michelle who was knowledgeable and patient. Starter arrived. Unfortunately not impressed by my “Prawn Cocktail”. Small shrimp, too many onions (unusual in a PC!) and the sauce was a little bland. Main course was MUCH better and very enjoyable. Overall, not a bad experience . Would probably go again. Michelle made the experience very pleasant.

Been here many times before but stopped after the staff were extremely rude. However been back recently and food and service very good. Went last night, food still good, food served in a timely manner but staff not very attentive. 4 Staff stood around the booking in area, behind a pillar and were having a great chat all the time we were there. This necessitated visits to bar to get drinks, sweet order plus bill. Sadly poor, spoiling a nice family gathering.

Went for my wife's birthday with our daughter and grandson for their Sunday roast dinner. This was our first visit there on friend's recommendation and Tripadvisor reviews. It will also be our last! The four of us all ordered the roast beef Sunday lunch. The beef was stringy and chewy, the vegetables were undercooked with the exception of the carrots and the Yorkshire puddings were like concrete. Needless to say, we wasted no further money by ordering a sweet. With four plates only half eaten the staff did not offer the professional courtesy of enquiring as to why! Attempting a positive note, the ambiance of the pub is lovely. I do wonder at times how such businesses manage to achieve positive reviews, perhaps they have many friends and family!

Fantastic Sunday lunch, great service, ambience and food. Beef was so tender, it melted in your mouth, we will definitely be back.

The Horseshoe used to be excellent. Though the quality of the food was good, the portion sizes have become very small, since being taken over. Good if you are watching your waistline!

Booked a table for lunch on Saturday for myself, wife and young son. The whole menu looks amazing and we decided on skipping a starter in favour of a Main and a desert. I ordered the Lasagne with a side of chilli fries which was amazing. Chilli fries were delicious on there own. My wife ordered the classic burger and it looked very nice indeed with my wife really enjoying it. My son got the children dippers with fries and beans, but being a typical young child barely touched it. But the batter on the chicken was very light and Crispy which was nice. Myself and my wife went for the chocolate brownie with salted caramel icecream and that was amazing. Really glad we did. Delicious flavour combined with everything and quite light. I need to go back to try the rest of the menu.

Our first time visiting The horseshoe, celebrating our wedding anniversary! And it was the best meal we have had eating out in a long while, Sirloin steak was cooked just how I asked it to be delicious served with mixed fresh vegetables including a couple of new potatoes & a bowl of chips, tomato & two mushrooms & peppercorn sauce! Wow so much food & presented good and totally worth the price, desserts again Wow large portions of sticky toffee pudding with custard & warm chocolate fudge cake with cream! Yummy delicious. Waitresses were very nice and friendly and food was served with not having to wait ages. We will definitely be back soon. Sunday lunch next time.

Excellent service in this small country pub. A wide ranging menu to suit all tastes. Low prices offering excellent value. Well presented meals. Very generous portions. Excellent value for money. Only issue as the restaurant was full,it was very noisy making conversation difficult.

Came for Sunday lunch today which was lovely. We had the turkey for mains, very generous portion and succulent. Service was excellent even though they were extremely busy and the staff were lovely. Squeezed in a sweet, gorgeous. Prices very reasonable too. Definitely be back.

We just called in for sandwiches. Staff were friendly as soon as we walked in and the fire was lit. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Great sandwiches served with a fresh salad and homemade chips. We’ll be back to try the main menu soon!

Decided the day before to go for lunch on Sunday. I feel you need to book as when we phoned up advised they only had one sitting left. Was it worth it. Yes! Small menu on a Sunday but that was perfect. Food was amazing and atmosphere really really nice. All the staff were really nice and friendly and you could hear the banter with the regulars which just added to the atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back if they can fit us in.

Had lunch at the Horseshoe today with my wife. I had the chicken curry and my wife the steak, both were excellent. Even though they were busy the service was great. Great atmosphere.

There is no better value Sunday Lunch than here, we have eaten in every restaurant in a 15 mile radius including Michelin guide establishments, and for a home style Sunday lunch it is unbeatable. The portions sizes are very generous, and in today's market the prices unbelievably cheap, just ask the staff and they will do anything to help. Perfect no, I read a review that whinged they had to ask for cranberry sauce,oh dear. Its a great atmosphere, friendly.The staff are all great characters, Clare should be a tourist attraction in her own, the type of attraction is open for debate 😉, you need to book or you don't get a look.

We come here many times because it is very local to us. The pub has such a lovely atmosphere, fab food, fab staff.

Although it was very busy service was quick and efficient and the food excellent, especially the goats cheese on toast starter. The atmosphere was warm and cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit

A group of 7 of us recently met up here and we all had an excellent evening! The waiting staff and bar staff were clearly busy and stretched but it didn't alter their service. Place is warm and welcoming, clean and spacious. Among us was a gluten intolerant and vegan. Loads of options for both, and the waitress made a point of making sure I had all vegan courses and reassuring on the butter being vegan so didn't even have to check! This personally to me was so appreciated! Portions were big, vegan Ice cream is gorgeous! Overall a lovely evening and definitely returning. This was our second visit and second highly recommended review! 👌

I took a party of 9 for lunch on Sunday some people had the Sunday lunch menu others did not all of the food was well presented and well cooked. Everyone was satisfied with there selection. The staff were pleasant and polite and I will happily go again which from a picky ex landlord is a compliment. We have been here before and have never been let down so what more can you say.

I visited this pub twice this week & was very impressed with both visits. The food was delicious,well cooked & presented.The service was outstanding,especially today as they were very short staffed!!! I would definitely reccomend this pub to anyone!

Four of us had a meal in the Horseshoe last night. The service from arrival to leaving was perfect - very friendly and welcoming. We all chose a different main course and all the meals which included the rustic Carbonara, the Hog casserole and the vegetable curry were all delicious.They had clearly worked hard to make it Covid safe, but without feeling oppressive and clinical. We will definitely be back again.

Party of 6 had a evening meal during eat out to help out. The food was lovely, particularly the black pudding started and seafood salad main. The staff were very helpful and kept abreast of the social distancing rules.

Stopped here on the way home from a shopping trip and had the carbonara. So glas I did. The carbonara was excellent, nice and creamy, ham very tender and flavour was spot on. I go as far as saying this was one of the best carbonaras I ever had. The dish came with two small pieces of garlic bread nicely toasted. Beer was too - I had Tribute but they also has Doom Bar on and at least one other

Wonderful country pub with good atmosphere, service and food. Luchtime menu offers enough choice and food is very well presented and tasty. Throughly recommend for a good pub meal.

This was my first visit to The Horseshoe (for Sunday lunch) and will definitely be my last! The vegetarian sweet potato and white bean chilli was dry and inedible. I can’t remember the last time I left a meal untouched. I wouldn’t have served up food like that at home, let alone charged money for it. The staff were unfriendly, verging on surly, and didn’t seem at all bothered that food hadn’t been eaten. Really disappointed as this was a rare family get-together - the poorest standard of food I’ve encountered in a long time.

My second visit her and a nice welcome as before. We dropped in for Sunday lunch and, although they were extremely busy, they fitted us in. Good roast dinners for a reasonable price with good service. Owner run business which you cannot beat.

Popped in for a quick lunch, menu is simple, staff polite and service is OK. Had been recommended this as a great place for food. It’s OK, but not gourmet. Food was tasty, well presented and good portions.

Can get a bit crowded and noisy, but it's a proper pub restaurant, with tables in the bar as well as in the adjacent room. Quite a large menu but I haven't ordered anything yet which doesn't meet their usual quality.

My wife and parents had Sunday lunch at the Horseshoe today and have to say it was the best Sunday lunch we had out ever and that is saying something. The beef and lamb were beautifully cooked and the gravy was to die for. Also great to have fresh vegetables that are perfectly cooked and a good variety. Also there was plenty of it, no scrimping on portion size here and to cap it off the service was excellent. Just found out go to Sunday lunch venue.

Had booked lunch for 2:00 p.m. still very busy, but was greated with a smile and seated immediatley. Staff were all friendly and efficient. Choice of four roast meats, and I choose the roast beef which was cooked to perfection, with lovely choice of vegetables and potatoes. There was a jug of gravey brought to the table which was a bonus.

Whilst visiting mother we wanted to go out for a meal and thought we would try the horseshoe wasnt disapointed great pub order food and arrived hot and well presented i had the steak and ale pie full of meat and rather more ish will defanatly go again next time im up that way again

Finally visited this pub after years of meaning to go in having heard good things. I expected more. Felt the interior needs a bit of a face lift. The food was ok, pleasant enough but nothing special. The Sunday roast was ok. The meat was hit or miss. Beef fairly tasteless, lamb over done, turkey ok and pork great. The sides were fairly uninspired.

Visited the venue today 28/06/19 for lunch with a friend. On entry the pub/restaurant has very appealing decor with a warm welcoming atmosphere, the staff smartly dressed and very welcoming. We were seated very quickly, drink order taken and delivered very efficiently, given time to peruse the menu, once ready the waitress was friendly, polite and very knowledgeable of the menu.

A pleasant local venue for our tenpin bowling group Christmas lunch. Decorations, service and food were all very satisfactory, and as they say, a good time was had by all!

Hadn’t been for a while and to be really honest we booked because we couldn’t get into our regular (Woodhouse Arms). We were seated quickly, menus given and orders taken for food and drinks without delay.

We’ve been here 4 times now and every time the food has been excellent! We have gluten intolerance and vegetarians too and all were catered for. The only let down is the service staff - if only they would smile and say please and thank you or even just acknowledge you when you’ve been waiting a while, it would be so much better. Overall a great place which is reasonably priced.

This pub is consistently good , hadn’t been for a while but staff remembered me . Our four meals were all excellent , and they do the best creme brule ,always a good atmosphere and a joke to be had ,wouldn’t hesitate to recommend .

Lovely lunch today with coal fire and attentive staff. One of us had Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich served with coleslaw salad and chips , the other had a lovely quiche with salad. The other diner were having a set meal of Fish and Chips which looked yummy too. We both enjoyed our meals. The pub was very busy with 2 regular large parties but the service was excellent and we were not rushed at all. Really nice to see Adam back looking after his customers so well.My only comment for improvement would be is to have homemade chips instead of frozen as they used to be amazing!

The first time we came today. Instantly we were welcomed with a smile by Chloe, she was amazing throughout our visit. Looking after us from drinks to food and taking care of one parties allergies to berries. The starters.....king prawn and home made Paté was perfect. The main course (lamb) was perfectly cooked and I was surprised at the variety of mixed FRESH veg......alot of places now struggle to serve veg let alone fresh veg!

I can’t praise them enough, excellent food, excellent service. We have visited The Horseshoe many times, but their help and organisation and food surpassed them all.

I went with my wife and sister-in-law to eat out here. We were not disappointed. The staff were so friendly, efficient and welcoming. There was a wide range of food offered, all very reasonably priced and superbly cooked. The portions were ample. The pub itself is spacious, catering for diners and for those just coming in for a drink.

We have used the Horseshoe many times and its good to know that it is a reliable choice,we did a lunchtime visit this week and although it was fairly quiet we were made welcome and it was nice to see an open fire in the bar area.My wife was very happy with the home made burger,but the chips were all very small.I had the giant Yorkshire pudding with beef .this was very tasty and the beef was nice and tender.I have to admit the portion was very large and I just couldn't eat all of it .so no room for deserts this time .once again a pleasant experience with good service and quality food at sensible prices .

The two of us booked for Sunday lunch again today. We have enjoyed meals at The Horseshoe on several occasions during the year.

Had a table booked at different pub and were unfortunately let down on arrival (as pub didn’t have us on their booking list somehow). Rang the horseshoe and were able to get a table for 7 last minute and the customer service were amazing! Very glad we ended up at the horseshoe as the food was lovely and such a much nicer atmosphere here! Felt very festive and warm! Thank you again to the staff at the horseshoe!

My first visit here was great. There was a large party of us for a Christmas night out. The food was piping hot and my traditional turkey dinner tasted great. Fun atmosphere and really hard working staff where nothing is too much trouble. We will definitely be visiting again, can’t wait to try the Sunday roast and the regular pub menu!

Horseshoe is great for good quality food and the selection of GF options is particularly welcome as 1 of our group of 4 is a coeliac and 1 is wheat intolerant. Service is very good and welcoming. Great value for money in a lovely atmosphere. Great staff. Will definitely be returning.

We visit this restaurant on a fairly regular basis and have always enjoyed a very pleasant meal and have recommended to our friends. However last night was a real disappointment. No mash potato. Quite extraordinary for a south Lincolnshire village pub. The starters were fine, but the main course was not up to the usual standard. The vegetables were not cooked, the carrots so undercooked it was difficult to pierce them with a fork, the leeks raw. I did not try the lump of cabbage. The chips not as expected. We wondered if the premises had new management.

Thank you for another lovely meal. Luckily we chose to book because it was very busy and this was a Thursday evening! Staff very friendly, menu with plenty to choose from. Everything was cooked just right. Have been twice now and can say it’s now become a favourite of ours. Will definitely be returning.

Lovely atmosphere, booked a table for a Sunday. Well cooked food. Only negative was ordering a dish off the menu and the waitress coming back after a short while saying not available - they should have told the waitress to let us know before taking orders. Otherwise recommend a run out to this lovely pub.

Managed to squeeze us in even on a busy friday night, maybe because we were early. We had a really good meal and enjoyed a good beer too. I had a pb favourite the sausage and mash and my wife had the fish (again). Some of the usual pub arguments were going on. best this and that, and arguments no one can prove where they are, all good natured. Service could have been better but it was still good.

We popped in on a busy Saturday night , we were made to feel welcome and given a table near the bar, as the restaurant was fully booked.

We were promptly served and the meal came quickly. It was a waitress service, which I hadn't expected as I went to the bar to order. There was a good range of meals available and a reasonable selection of ales and other drinks. both my wife and I were pleased with our meals.

Many thanks to the staff for all their work in looking after a party of 20 plus for a very enjoyable Sunday lunch.Every one commented on how tender the meats were and how smoothly the service went.Well done.

Had a date night here with my lovely wife and we were very happy with the whole experience.

Really enjoyed our meal here,my husband went for garlic mushrooms to start and I chose prawn cocktail....both of us had the authentic chicken curry for our main...be warned,it says medium but it’s got quite a kick to it! Strawberry and white chocolate cheesecake was lovely,couldn’t finish it as such a generous portion.

Had lunch here with my granddaughter today, excellent food, service first class, our second visit, will certainly be going again.

I had arranged a family meal for 12 to help celebrate my wife's upcoming birthday - the booking was for midday but due to traffic problems we couldn't get there until 12.30.

With Family in Lincoln, we have used the Horseshoe quite a few times over the years but not again after the last 2 visits

We didn’t book but managed literally to get last table! Very busy pub Friday night, with good atmosphere, lovely decor and good service. I had goats cheese to start which was huge for me could have just had pud and be very happy! Hubby had pate again generous on toast which he likes. He then had gammon served with both pineapple and egg, cooked tomato, side dish of veg and chips! I had lasagne huge portion with salad and chips! Couldn’t finish but all food delicious and piping hot. No room for pud.... would go again!

Wow! What a breath of fresh air... first time I’ve been in years. We had a surprise birthday lunch for my dad. 11 in total including 4 kids all under ten. Food was reasonably priced and plentiful portions. The service was fantastic polite and welcoming. Definitely be returning more frequently.

Having drove past The Horseshoe for a number of years, we decided to call in for lunch today we all said that why had we missed this gem over all those years.

As a regular visitor I was not happy with my last visit, the food was ok but the meals didn't come out together, the manageress was grumpy and we weren't made to feel welcome.

Was absolutely disgusted with the service we received today have been going for a good couple of years but today have been well and truly put off very rude waitress supposed to meet friends there but couldn’t make it with their car broken down and they dealt with the situation very poorly and we were made to pay cancellation fee for their food which was poor as it was nobody’s fault anybody’s car can break down very let down and disappointed
