Well what can I say, we came to a wedding tonight and the venue, food, staff and DJ was absolutely fantastic, if you ever want to book a room for your occasion then look no further than Brooksby hall, you won’t be disappointed.

Enjoyed our all day breakfast. Decent selection to choose from. They were short staffed but didn't have to wait long at all for our food. Very tasty and will pop in again when in Melton.

Called in to try their breakfast cobs and were blown away, more or less a full English in a cob!! My wife and I had one each with a brew and all for less than a tenner!!! The staff were very friendly and polite as well as chatty; we’ve defiantly found a new place for breakfasts in the future - we’ll try the lunches as well soon!! HIGHLY recommended!!

A long time favourite but haven’t been since it changed hands until this weekend. Sunday lunch with friends - roast beef was inedible /soooo tough. Mentioned to serving staff 🤷♀️ no apology - nothing! Prob won’t go back after that experience. Interesting that it wasn’t very busy either- used to have to book way in advance to be sure to get a table !

My wife and I were on coach trip to the Great Central Railway. We stopped in Melton Mowbray for a couple of hours and decided to have lunch. We saw Miss B's sign and thought we would have a meal there. I had the steak pie with stilton. It was an excellent choice, I really enjoyed it. My wife had a cheese and ham toastie which she also enjoyed.

This is a typical example of a country village pub which has a depth of history that adds to its charm. It’s a pub that is very popular with the locals throughout the year, it’s a family favourite but something has happened. Hadn’t been for a meal since early summer due to a busy set of engagements and the opportunity came about to have a family gathering and booked with ease, on arrival it was a bit of a head scratcher as the car park was strangely nearly empty which is odd as vehicles are normally spilling over on to the road but not this particular evening. On walking in to the restaurant part of the pub there were three tables which were occupied with about nine covers and a very smoky fire burning to boot, we waited sometime about several minutes before we were greeted, which was friendly and shown to our table, there was a lingering gap before we received the menu’s and specials board, thirty minutes later before our drinks order was taken followed another wait for our menu options was to be taken, why I don’t know as two diners had finished paid and left leaving three tables of diners all in various stages of their meals, seriously staff are not reading the room. Eventually, our order was taken and as our meals are freshly prepared there is a wait understandable, though time was marching on and it was a good fifty minutes eventually our starters arrived, Thai Fritters and a Camembert sharer, the Thai Fritters were delicious, sadly, the cheese wasn’t even warm, the bread to accompany was substantially warmer than the formerly melted Camembert which was a shame. When we finished our starters the waitress came over to collect our plates I did mention about the Camembert situation which she did apologise and said she would mention it to the kitchen, now during eating our starters there wasn’t an opportunity to call anyone over as they simply disappeared into the kitchen for ages popping out briefly but not assessing the room, whilst waiting for our mains the table of two nearby finished their meal paid and left leaving two tables left, it was some time before that table was cleared. The bar area of the restaurant is small with varied selection of wines on display, occasionally you would see three people that resembled three Meerkats looking over the bar and disappearing for ages. Our main courses arrived and again delicious and nearing the end of our meal a second waitress asked us if our meal was satisfactory. I am not sure what is going on here as this is a fantastic pub and decent restaurant that has a varied menu for all, but the service was lacking and you get to wonder why was the pub so quiet, we decided that enough was enough as the service, though I stress was friendly was poor and added to the smoking fire it felt like after two hours we were well and truly kippered. It’s a shame that the Camembert wasn’t addressed properly, saying adjustment to the bill as I added a couple of positive comments about my Hake main as the sauce was too acidic and the samphire a tad too salty which needed a few more soaking in water to temper the sea salt. It’s sad that this wasn’t the positive family experience one had hoped and I don’t like to do a downer review but on this occasion that there were a few issues that didn’t make it a great experience and hope that this is just a one off and hope to continue to give this lovely pub a second chance as it is a fine little pub, I just wonder if it currently has a landlord or being managed by the brewery.

After years of travelling up and down the A1, on Sunday morning I turned off and visited Melton Mowbray in search for a pork pie. I was surprized that the High Street was not full of pork pie shops. But on a back street I found this charming little cafe. An excellent cup of coffee and I purchased a traditional pie, which |i took home and later had for my tea. Well worth the detour.

Charming pub offering distinctly superior steak and chips, and a variety of burgers. Several cuts of steak were available. Our rump steaks were tender and well-flavoured, cooked accurately to medium rare as requested. Very thick cut chips were beautifully chunky and crispy, with fluffy potato inside. A smooth Malbec was available to go with them. For meat eaters only.

I had a bacon & fresh tomatoes cob. Nicely done. Sue had toasties with salad. Complimented by a strong pot of tea. Lovely experience. We were invited to sit in the garden area at rear of cafe. Very clean & private. Friendly staff & we were made very welcome. Thank you.
