My wife and I were on coach trip to the Great Central Railway. We stopped in Melton Mowbray for a couple of hours and decided to have lunch. We saw Miss B's sign and thought we would have a meal there. I had the steak pie with stilton. It was an excellent choice, I really enjoyed it. My wife had a cheese and ham toastie which she also enjoyed.

Beautiful hidden gem! We have visited twice on our way through Melton Mowbry and been greeted by a warm welcome and excellent food and drinks. Today was a bit of a wait as it was busy, but the girl who served us was so so polite and apologetic for the wait. The food was lovely and a never ending pot of tea to go with it. The home made cakes looked excellent, next time we will have to try them (we were so full from lunch).

A gem in a desert of bland, corporate coffee shops, this personally run tea room is the quintessence of what an English tea room should be. The small entrance door leads to a charming upstairs room with plenty of windows overlooking the Market Square and the menu selection is outstanding. My wife & I only wanted morning tea and a piece of cake and were surprised at the 20+ selections of teas ( including my favourite Chai tea!)and indulged in a piece of her toffee cake ( all made in-house). Long may such bastions of pleasure continue to exist and be supported!!

Came here with a friend for lunch and we enjoyed it, I had the Melton platter and for the money was not bad, what was weird was my Stilton, it was like half my slice was missing, anywhere else u get a triangle shaped slice but I got a stub where was the point to my triangle but was a big portion of everything else for the money, my Friend had an omelette which he said was very filling and tasty

Found this little gem by luck on a day trip to Melton Mowbray, through a little doorway and up a flight of stairs. It made such a nice change to all the generic coffee shops to find somewhere with a bit of character. We had a breakfast brunch and a cream tea, all of which were excellent. The scone was homemade and was huge (only comment would be more clotted cream was needed because of its size!). Staff were helpful and polite. Would definitely go back if in the area again.

We were travelling from Doncaster to the outskirts of Daventry to a wedding and decided to stop off at Melton Mowbray to stretch our legs and have lunch. The young man who worked in the famous porkpie shop recommended Mrs B's, so off we went. What a find. It was a quintessential old fashioned tearoom and the food and cakes served were in keeping with the tearoom and era. The afternoon teas looked amazing. The owner was really friendly and worked hard, ensuring everyone was ok. We will certainly visit if ever we are in the area again and have already recommended it to friends. It's reassuring that places like this still exist in order for us to treat ourselves once in a while. Keep up the good work !

Saturday 17 October 20, my husband and I stopped off in Melton Mowbray and whilst mooching round the Market Place my husband and I found a lovely tearoom called ‘Miss B’s”, with a very nice breakfast menu. My husband and I decided this was the place for us so we entered within. We were greeted by a lady called Jolie and then shown to a table for two overlooking the market place. We looked at the nice breakfast menu and then we ordered. My husband had the Welsh rarebit and a nice pot of tea, which he said was very nice. I had the bacon and egg baguette with brown sauce, which was delicious. I had a hazelnut latte coffee. The food was served on vintage china as was the drinks, it was a pretty chintzy place and very pleasant. I found inspiration here as I wrote two poems called ‘The Market’ and ‘Miss B’s’, we spent a relaxing hour here. Our second visit was on Monday 19 October 20, my husband and I were in need of refreshments so we drove back down into Melton Mowbray and once again parked in the Wilton Street car park. We then strolled into The Market Place, where we once again went to ‘Miss B’s” tearoom. We were greeted again by Jolie and then shown to a table for two by the fireplace. We looked at the menu and then we ordered the afternoon tea for two. The food was served on vintage china as was the drinks. Our Afternoon Tea consisted of a selection of sandwiches (cheese & onion, ham & tomato, coronation chicken, salmon and cream cheese and egg and cress), a selection of small cakes (raspberry slices, bakewell tarts and coffee and walnut squares) we also had nice fruit scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream, which was really nice. My husband also had a nice pot of tea and I had a large cup of coffee. We spent a nice relaxing hour here. There is a kind of elegance in having afternoon tea and cakes on vintage china. Unfortunately, we thought nearly twenty five pounds for the afternoon tea was a little steep for what we had, as we have had far better in other places for less money. If you want a nice quaint tearoom, then this is the place to visit

Looked for somewhere for lunch in Melton Mowbray on a Saturday to break a journey, and found this place on Tripadvisor. What a lucky find. Quirky, period decorated tearoom serving a great selection of local foods, and a vast choice of teas served in quaint little teapots. We had the Melton Taster and Toasted Sandwiches and they were delicious. This place was listed in a Tea Guild book of places for afternoon tea, so I feared it would be pricey and crowded when I headed there for lunch. Thankfully, it was neither! Perhaps since it was midday, or perhaps since it's somewhat hidden up a staircase from the main street - either way, I was surprised and puzzled why this excellent place was not bursting at the seams, because I thoroughly enjoyed my 'Melton Selection' lunch. The decor is lovely, full of pretty china and cute touches. I was able to sit by a window, taking in the sunshine and people-watching below. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. I only wish I could go back to sample one of their intriguing sounding cream teas!

A lovely little traditional tea room, located on the second floor of a very old building. The ladies who work there are great fun, as well as providing excellent service. If you are looking for a proper cream tea, I couldn't recommend Miss B's more highly. Everything - the little sandwiches, scones, cake - was fabulous. You probably won't be able to eat it all, but they are happy to give you a doggie bag for any leftovers. A wide choice of teas are available, or you can have coffee as part of the cream tea package. The basic cream tea, which you don't have to pre-order, is only £10.95, which is unbelievably good value considering how much lovely food you get. They do other varities of cream tea as well, but they do require you to order 24 hours ahead. They have a very large menu, with lots of locally produced foods too. It's a small place so you might want to reserve a table at lunchtime. They also sell special blends of tea which would make a nice gift, and you can get food to take away.

Not forgetting their choice of sandwiches and other savouries it's well worth a visit.

This is our second visit to this tea room, it is located on the Main Street but located on the first floor and the entrance is by a steep staircase.

We were recommended here by the local pie shop as I’d enquired about a traditional tea room. We weren’t disappointed! Lovely quaint room; and my partner and I sat by the window upstairs.

My sister visits this tea room regularly with my Mum and decided we would visit for High tea on my Mums 90th birthday. I was not disappointed. Excellent range of teas including my much loved red bush. The sandwiches were perfect. No crusts, very fresh bread and plenty of filling. There was smoked salmon, cheese and pickle, smoked salmon, beef and ham. We also had scones (lots of), clotted cream and jam. We also had Bakewell tart, chocolate slice, shortbread, coffee cake, amazing carrot cake. We had ordered the luxury high tea. You can get a simpler high tea when you just walk in off the street I love the traditional tea room style with little china cups and tea strainers. Very clean toilet. This tea room is upstairs but worth the climb. Thank you Tracey for looking after us so well.

Miss B's was on our list of places to visit in Melton Mowbray yesterday & we were not disappointed, Friendly, helpful & efficient service with a smile. We tried the taster Melton platters which included pieces of the famous pork pies & stilton, lovely slice of ham all served with a proper mustard, home-made coleslaw & chutney, We had to follow this with a scone, jam & clotted cream & an almond & cherry scone complemented by lovely loose leaf cherry tea. Definitely a place to return to!

It was a pleasure to climb the stairs to this tea room to discover something different to the bland, corporate stylings of the usual Costa etc chains. Here is a proper tea room with individual service. Yes, it's a bit old fashioned but there's nothing wrong with that. The tea and cakes were good and served with efficiency and a smile

We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Rutland Arms for my mothers birthday. The food tasted great, fresh and so nice to try something a little different. The waitress, (I can't remember her name) but she was so lovely and chatty & an asset to the business. I would recommend to anyone wishing to enjoy a meal in nice surroundings with good food that won't break the bank. We will definitely be returning.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch with friends today. Everything was perfect, fantastic food. We were all very impressed how attentive and kind the staff were. They're were some elderly customers there, after the meal the staff were helping them with their coats, hats and walking sticks, so nice to see in this day and age. We will definitely be back. Amazing.
