We enjoyed a lovely meal at the Rutland Arms for my mothers birthday. The food tasted great, fresh and so nice to try something a little different. The waitress, (I can't remember her name) but she was so lovely and chatty & an asset to the business. I would recommend to anyone wishing to enjoy a meal in nice surroundings with good food that won't break the bank. We will definitely be returning.

When we arrived we were greeted with a welcoming smile and asked if we had booked a table. We had but were waiting for the remaining guests. No rush to get us seated. Just a lovely calming approach to their guests xxx

Food was excellent! Service excellent staff friendly and helpful. We’ve visited a few times now and it’s been consistent. This is now our regular go to for great pub food, highly recommend the steak and mac and cheese. The salads are beautiful too. Great choices on the menu to suit all. Definitely need to go back to try the Sunday roast!

Called into our local for lunch, received our usual warm friendly welcome from Diane and a cold refreshing pint while making a choice from the menu. My better half had the roast beef and I had steak pie pots and veg. My pie was delicious and the better half said the roast beef was to die for and he is Very fussy. Thank you Charlotte and Diane for the excellent food and service.

Set in the centre of this delightful village the Rutland Arms is a spacious and comfortable pub. The food is very nice and well presented. The car park is limited but there is easy street parking close by.

Popped in for a quick drink lunchtime, my husband had a pint I had a half of shandy, his lager was fine, mine was as flat as Twiggys chest, didn't want to make a fuss, but left feeling disappointed and thirsty.

Comfy pub with good real ales. There is an Indian Restaurant and Takeaway attached to pub so best of both worlds. Pub does lunches but not evening meals.

Great pub with friendly staff and great food didn’t have a high chair and doesn’t really cater for children as no kids menu. But a great lunch was had and we would go back

Pleasant village pub, pre meal drinks at the Thatch and it a good pub, plenty of alcohol choices, wasn't busy early evening but has a nice English pub charm about it, well worth a pint.

Out on a bike ride and decided to stop for lunch. Came across this pud which did snacks or meals. Staff and other customers were friendly and welcoming. Two baguettes with chips, pint of lager and a glass of coke £17. Thought this was reasonable for a traditional local privately run pub...nice to see some are left. Only serves meals Mon - Fri 12pm - 2pm.

A basic village pub with good simple pub grub at a good price. The cask ales, especially Timothy Taylor's Landlord, is kept superbly, never had a bad pint here! Only disappointment was very limited food on Saturday lunch time, just pre-prepared ham salad or cheese and onion wrapped in cling film.

We called in at lunchtime after a failed attempt to visit Belvoir Castle. We got a warm welcome. The lunch was excellent quality and great value. I had a jacket potato with tuna mayonnaise and my husband had home made macaroni cheese with garlic bread. We had a coffee and that was great too. Wish this pub was nearer to home as we would happily go again.

Called in here as the place we use on this route was out of action for the day. Didn't quite know what to expect but we were certainly not disappointed. The place was very welcoming with a roaring fire, very friendly & competent barmaid. Lovely & clean & nicely decorated. They have a specials board which is changed weekly but on this occasion we chose from the menu. Our meals were of very good portions, tasty & piping hot. Hubby indulged in a syrup sponge with custard & he declared it was one of the best tasted in a while. Will definitely return gain when in this area. Highly recommend.

Just how a local pub should be. Extremely friendly staff. Friendly locals with a great atmosphere. Fast service even when busy. Even better when the sun is out and you can sit outside. Nice pool table and jukebox which are both free Wednesdays and I think on Sunday's to. Excellent.

I went to this pub with my family (me myPartner and 2 kids) we were having a nice drink whilst we waited for friends to arrive until the LANDLADY! came to the bar and asked if my child doesn't like being in pub, I asked why she replied because she's crying. I said its a he and yeah he's ok, for her to then say can you leave the pub because shes crying too much. My child is a boy not a girl for a start and he only cried for 15 seconds. I was under the impression it was a family pub as we have been before and never had any problems but I've also never seen the landlady before! She had no respect at all she was really rude the way she spoke to us! She made me feel awful. There were only 2 other people in the pub at the time too! WORST PUB I'VE EVER BEEN TOO!

Visited on a Monday, which is usually a bad day for restaurants as they tend to focus on the weekend. This pub had a reasonable menu and all four of us enjoyed the food and found it very acceptable and good value. Liver and Onions was a pleasant surprise and went down well with my wife! The desserts were good and so was the accompanying custard!

Popped in for lunch last week as it's just around the corner from my parents house. The pubs recently refurbished it's lunch bar and (apparently) has a new manager. The new saloon bar is really nice, smart and comfortable. The food was perfectly ok and un believably cheap. I had a ploughman's lunch for a fiver. OK, it didn't have a pickled onion or any tomato but it had a huge chunk of cheese. Crazy really when they could cut back on the expensive stuff and at some cheap variety bits.Dad had sausage and mash with veg - great value and we cooked. If you're looking for a nice pint and inexpensive, good value food, it's pretty hard to beat. Not the best meal I've ever had - but certainly up there for value.

just an average meal in an average village pub. Its always been an ugly building with numerous changes of management, maybe it's changed yet again. Used to be keep the place back in the 70s wasn't the best then.

I chanced upon this pub whilst returning to my nearby accommodation, the Vale of Belvoir Inn at Whatton. I had spent the day with family at Twin Lakes, Melton Mowbray, and I stopped off on the way back in the village of Bottesford. What a find! I was greeted warmly on my entry, in what was an unusally busy public bar, early on a Sunday night. I carry my laptop everywhere, and I was delighted to be able to access free Cloud based wi-fi (yes, free access and good with it), and enjoy a pint of Timothy Taylor's Landlord, one of Britain's best real ales. Why can't the Antipodeans make ale like this? With a warm fire, and lovely people, it was with reluctance that I had to return to my room and chaos back at the inn. Try this Rutland, you won't regret it.

By far the worst pub meal we have ever had. My mac and cheese was in a bowl the size of a cereal bowl and half empty. Two slices of garlic bread that were at most 2 inches. £15 for this and left hungry. When the waitress asked and we told her she said she would inform the chef came back and just walked by us .. never again. The other 3 meals were better but not much, over cooked chips, dry overcooked burger and chicken burger with no taste of teriyaki!

My wife and I were on coach trip to the Great Central Railway. We stopped in Melton Mowbray for a couple of hours and decided to have lunch. We saw Miss B's sign and thought we would have a meal there. I had the steak pie with stilton. It was an excellent choice, I really enjoyed it. My wife had a cheese and ham toastie which she also enjoyed.

Had a fantastic Sunday lunch with friends today. Everything was perfect, fantastic food. We were all very impressed how attentive and kind the staff were. They're were some elderly customers there, after the meal the staff were helping them with their coats, hats and walking sticks, so nice to see in this day and age. We will definitely be back. Amazing.
