Called in to this little tea room just off the Main Street in Castleton. Lovely place, greeted by a very friendly lady. After much deliberation we chose two cakes and a pot of tea. Cakes were delicious and the pot of tea came with a pot of hot water all served in white china...perfect. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely loved this little place in the centre of Castleton. Staff were very friendly, place is comfy and there's yummy cakes to go with tea and coffee! A decent range of other food on the menu for lunch and bites - would definitely recommend!

We went on a Saturday and was disappointment as when we were going to order we were told we couldn't have coffee and cake as if was lunchtime and we had to order a full meal. We had been at this time of three previous occasions at the same time - booking by telephone and NOT been told that as it was lunchtime we had to have a full main meal. So was very disappointed as I only meet up with my sisters/family once a month (there was 8 of us) and this is the handiest to their homes so we got up and left. When taking telephone bookings for a lunchtime they need to advise customers of their choices!!! Subsequently we will not be going back!!!!

We had a lovely Mother's Day lunch here yesterday - the pub is beautiful, as is the surrounding area. There was a set menu for Mother's Day with plenty to choose from and 3 courses for £33.00 which we thought was good value for money. The pub was extremely busy and we were waiting a while between our starters and our main, but we didn't mind that. All in all we had a lovely afternoon out but there are a couple of niggles ... 4 of us opted for the prawn cocktail starter - the avocado was missing from all 4 of the prawn cocktails and when we told our waitress, she just said sorry. I am unsure whether they had run out or simply forgotten to put it in there but it would have been nice if she could have looked into it for us. For the main, 3 of us went for the Derbyshire beef and 2 had the chicken. Unfortunately, even though it was cooked perfectly, the beef was a little on the tough side, as was the chicken. The rest of the meal was lovely and we were going to complain but just put it down to the fact it was extremely busy and sometimes, you do get that tough joint of beef. We would definitely return. Our main waitress was lovely and very helpful. Thank you for a great afternoon out.

Called in for breakfast with my son and dog having booked the day before. Really accommodating and friendly staff with great food and coffee. I had scrambled eggs on toast and my son, a bacon sandwich, with a latte for me and a mocha for my son. £19.40 in total. We both agreed the food hit the spot. Will call again next time we’re in Hope.

I went to this shop with my partner as he wanted a breakfast roll. I had no idea what to have but with the help of the fantastic lady serving I had the bestciabatta sandwich I've ever had. The bread was perfect, packed with filling. Wr also bought a slice of ginger & toffee cake. The flavours were amazing. If you have the opportunity to use this deli on your travels, you won't be disappointed. Its a small deli filled with everything from chai seeds to sausage rolls.

Fabulous beautifully prepared lunch. Homemade mushroom soup, toasted sandwich with imaginative side salad and coleslaw! Wonderful coffee. Highly recommend

Have past it many times but decided to call in, a great move. The shop has lots of really nice products. Had lunch in the restaurant, excellent coffee and a nice choice of meals, the breakfasts are a bargain but so then are all the meals. Had a bacon and egg butty, really tasty, loverly staff. Will be back.

We walked in expecting a good Vintage Inns lunch. We didn't get what we expected. Our pie was steak and kidney with poor quality meat inside. Expected Thyme roasted carrots which were missing and served plain mash potato not with Spring Onions. Friend had fish and chips which looked very poor quality. We will not be visiting another Vintage Inns if this is the current food quality.

We were walking in the Peak District for a couple of days with an overnight stop at the Cheshire Cheese. It is the perfect place to stay, ideal for walks over Win Hill to Ladybower or over Lose Hill and on to Mam Tor. Check-in was friendly and welcoming. The rooms were quaint & spotlessly clean. Our 2nd port of call was the bar. A nice range of well kept ales were on the pumps. Food is typical pub food - good portions, well cooked. I can recommend the veggie breakfast which set us up for our walk over Mam Tor. All in all a very pleasant stay - a great pub in a great location.
