What a lovely little tea room, ordered the oatcakes with ham, brie and cranberry and a cappuccino, they were absolutely delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive, great customer service . Took away the homemade sausage rolls and a sweet treat to have later on and they were up to the same high standard as the dine in food. Highly recommend to anyone visiting, will definitely be going back.

All three of us, wife, dog and myself, were all made welcome from the off. My wife & I had the oatcakes.... veggie choice was great and you couldn't get any more tasty bacon in mine. The main winner here was the quality of what seemed to be fairly simple choices. Each oatcake was accompanied by crisps and a carrot coleslaw plus a lovely fresh salad with many ingredients. These extras were refreshing against the lovely oatcakes and made the snack into a meal. Hot chocolate drinks were excellent too. And for the dog lovers, the staff treated ours as well as us, ensuring this lunch was a very enjoyable experience; rather unexpected in such a busy tourist area!

Miserable owner, who couldn't have been more rude. Ordered £20 quid of takeaways (two toasties and a pasty) on a cold day, and were told to wait outside whilst they made them ! No manners and just a face on. Best part was the 50p charge to warm the pre-bought pasty - we wondered if they were going to bring out the constituent parts of the toastie, and make us make them ourselves. Guess they don't have put much effort in with so many tourists

Another great visit. From the moment you step through the door you are greeted warmly by the staff. Tea room is spotlessly clean, nothing is too much trouble. Staff all very friendly We had a full breakfast and a one plate breakfast. Dairy free spread was not a problem. All ingredients are of a very high quality and delicious the Jam and Marmalade that come with the toast is just amazing. Cant wait to get back to Castleton for another breakfast. Even took away some of David's Tipsey Cake. Worth a try if you ever get the chance Thanks again for sorting the Tipsey Cake for us. It was amazing as always.

The Peveril tea rooms are a must to try when visiting Castleton! We went here yesterday for the first time, and we will definitely be back! We did call by when staying in Castleton in September, however due to its popularity it was very busy and full, this speaks volumes! From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted with a warm welcome, the staff are very friendly and attentive! Everywhere is spotlessly clean! We had hot chocolate with homemade warm scones with jam and clotted cream, all were delicious! I look forward to visiting again when we are in the area! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We spent a July weekend in Castleton and we were looking for a place to have a nice English breakfast. We came upon Peveril tea rooms and so lucky we did! The people running it are super friendly and polite, you're greeted with a big smile, service is just top notch and the place is very cute and cosy. Service was fast, presentation of the food was great too and the food itself was lovely and hot! We enjoyed it so much we came back the next day and the lady owner was happy to see us and asked what we'd been up to. The people at Peveril tea rooms really do care for the customers, what a lovely friendly place. Recommend 100% and if we visit Castleton again, for sure we'll come here for breakfast! Thank you! :)

We visited on a Sunday morning after a weekend in Castleton. My wife had the vegan breakfast, I had the full English breakfast, both were absolutely beautiful and bear in mind that these are not just the hot food that is provided at other restaurants, you get toast, jam, marmalade, Orange juice or Apple juice, coffee or tea, it is a full, Full English, breakfast. The marmalade was home made and was so much better than mass produced alternatives that alone is worth a visas far as I am concerned. Lovely friendly service, sensible prices, and a dog friendly environment added to the enjoyment. I am sure we will be back when we are over again in a few months.

Our party stopped here for lunch today, including our two dogs. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by friendly owners/ staff and what is immediately apparent was how spotlessly clean the place was. There are not many tables, but don't be shy as folk were happy to share theirs, which is really great as you can meet and chat with some lovely people. The food was beautifully presented and very generous portions. We had the sausage/onion relish/ mozzarella panini, bacon/ brie/ cranberry panini, hot chicken sandwich and egg mayo sandwich and all were very good. They were accompanied by side salad and an exceptional homemade carrot type coleslaw. The bathroom facilities were upstairs and immaculately clean and there was also a lovely lounge area upstairs (as shown in picture) if you just fancied a coffee break and chill. Overall a very pleasant, good value place to stop for lunch.

Arrived soaking wet after a very wet walk to Peveril Castle - left feeling warm, welcomed and well fed. All the food is freshly cooked so you are warned there may be a delay if busy. However our meals arrived quickly with a delicious home-made vegetable soup and a really fresh granary roll and full English breakfast. The breakfast was served with orange juice, toast, jam and home made marmalade. More juice and toast was offered. I always like it when my pot of tea is served with extra hot water - to me it's a sign of a good tea room. Generous portions, tasty fresh meals, warm welcome, papers to read and very reasonable prices. I don't generally like dogs in restaurants but the 2 there were well behaved and being offered water and dog biscuits probably helped so they were no bother. Do call in - you will enjoy it.

This is one on several tea rooms in this small village and a refreshing change compared with some of the others. We had already walked out of two others for being ignored! This one was lovely. We were welcomed in with a cheerful greeting and the subsequent prompt service was friendly. The inside was clean and tidy and was clearly being used by some local customers – always a promising sign.We each had a coffee and chose a home-made cake from the delicious range displayed. We were not disappointed. They also offered a wide range of sandwiches etc. but we didn't try these.Prices were very reasonable. We would willingly use this lovely tea room again if in the area.

Lovely pub especially after a long walk. The steak and ale pie was amazing with good beer on tap to accompany it.
