Dropped by for a swift pint. Great place for well kept real ale - the Abbeydale was on form.

Cask and Kitchen is a delightful American-style restaurant that captures the essence of comfort food. With its cozy ambiance featuring rustic wooden decor and warm lighting, it offers a welcoming atmosphere perfect for casual dining. The menu boasts a variety of classic dishes, from juicy burgers topped with house-made pickles to flavorful Kebabs. We started with Pork Belly and Salt and Pepper Calamri , which were a hit, and finished with a classic Tenessee Kebab to bring back nostalgic memories. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. Whether you're craving a hearty meal or just a comforting dessert, Cask and Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in American favorites.

This small remote Inn is quite a rarity in this area, by being still open. The interior is quite compact, with limited space. Further seating available outside for finer weather. If eating advance booking is advisable. Menu quite varied and generally good value. The Sunday roast dinner is really good value. Pies microwaved with soggy pastry on one's sampled. Good choice of beers on offer, with three on hand pumps when visited. Well worth a visit, handy for walkers on main valley path between Hartington and 'The Dragon's Back' of Parkhouse and Chrome Hill.
