I went to this shop with my partner as he wanted a breakfast roll. I had no idea what to have but with the help of the fantastic lady serving I had the bestciabatta sandwich I've ever had. The bread was perfect, packed with filling. Wr also bought a slice of ginger & toffee cake. The flavours were amazing. If you have the opportunity to use this deli on your travels, you won't be disappointed. Its a small deli filled with everything from chai seeds to sausage rolls.

I used the hope chest deli for my 30th birthday where I had hired a house nearby. The Deli catered an afternoon tea for 22 people with multiple dietary requirements. The order was ready to collect on time and they provided all the platters which I was able to return the next day. Would throughly recommend!

I came here twice, on consecutive days, with two of my mates and we enjoyed a variety of sandwiches and locally made pork pies. The service was lovely and the staff were friendly. We had some granary bageuettes/sandwiches with fresh salad, ham and cheese. The staff in this establishment were really friendly and it was a pleasure to visit this deli and so good we went back the next day to get food for our hikes that we had planned. My mates had food envy as I had a lovely sandwich and they also went back the next day and got their lunch from the Hope Chest Deli and they will also be coming back with me soon. Keep up the great work Hope Chest Deli !! See you soon

Was told to wear a mask by a lady not wearing a mask (even though she was making sandwiches for other people to consume) Actually all the staff in the shop either didn’t wear one or had it hung over their chin. However they insist that the mask I was wearing wasn’t covering my face properly.

We were staying in Hope for a week's holiday and picked up our picnic here several days in a row. The staff are really friendly and were particularly patient with my daughter who has a learning disability. The food is great and we'd highly recommend the sausage rolls, spinach and ricotta pastries and the Bakewell tart/pudding as well as the made to order sandwiches.

We were staying in Hope recently and picked up our picnics and lunches here several days running. Everything was lovely but we'd particularly recommend the spinach and ricotta pastry, the sausage rolls and the Bakewell tart/pudding. The staff were really friendly and I was especially touched by how patient they were with my (adult) daughter who is autistic and has a learning difficulty.

Very weird staff, it’s as though you are inconveniencing them by asking for anything. Sandwiches are wrapped in cling film then in a paper bag, by the time we went to eat them they was soggy and mushy so a waste of our money.

Was put with my son (in a wheelchair) and my daughter whom is autistic and has a registered assistance dog 🐕. We were about to purchase and ask to remove the dog on ‘health and safety’ grounds!!! We left. To point out to the proprietors the equality act 2010 and which encompass law regarding assistance dogs. Your establishment was today and is breaking the laws. Disabled people should boycott establishments like this.

We popped into the Hope Chest Deli a few times on our recent stay in Hope. It's small but there's so many tasty things in there that repeat visits always found something new! They offer homemade cakes (including GF and Vegan options), fresh bread, hot and cold food, deli items and foodie gifts as well as local produce. We ordered sandwiches and salad boxes which were generous, fresh and super tasty - plus they have good gluten free options which they are very knowledgeable about (they asked all the right questions when I ordered something gluten free). Staff are super friendly too. I can't wait to try the cheese truckles and chutneys we got from there. If only we had somewhere like this back home!

Popped in here and ordered two turkey and stuffing rolls with salad and only realised when one of the ladies had started to make up our rolls that I had been daft and left my purse back in our motorhome in Castleton, apologised and said we would be back as quickly as possible to the lady kindly informing us that if we had Apple Pay then that would be taken, we were so thrilled and also relieved we did not need to do a return trip lol , the rolls were fab and we thoroughly enjoyed them, many thanks to all the staff that were in whilst we were there, they were all very jolly and we will certainly return when next visiting the area but next time with my purse .

Gracias.

As we took in their advice we realised how lovely some of their items were. We agreed to purchase some cheese but did not want to take it then as it was a hot day. We would come back. When we did they had put our cheese in the fridge so no one else would buy it even though they could not be certain we would return. Lovely people.PS the Stanage Millstone cheese was delicious

Try to remember when visiting that this is a Deli, not a bakery. They offer a great range of breads and cakes but that's not their raison d'etre. A sign on the wall clearly indicates that breads etc, are bought in from elsewhere daily. I popped in as I was contracting at a nearby factory and had been recommended it by the IT manager. I've visited twice and enjoyed sandwiches on both occasions. Of the two, I would say stick to sandwich fillings rather than breakfast sandwiches though as it was more enjoyable. What makes this place a great little find though, is it's range of quirky products. In my case, though I have no particular dietary requirements of my own, I was particularly pleased to find a range of biscuits that were gluten free, dairy free and egg free (Vegan also, incidentally!). A friend back home was absolutely over the moon to find a product that tastes amazing and that she can actually eat as she has a rare combination of dietary disorders that meant all of those "free from" categories were equally important!I also fed the same biscuits to the rest of the household without the usual cries of "eugh, this gluten free stuff is horrible!". I've subsequently placed a substantial order with that producer, all thanks to the Hope Chest Deli.If I'm out that way again, I would be more than happy to go there for a bite of lunch!

Massive mark-up on all items, especially gluten-free breads and bread mixes (so instead of encouraging customers to go back it does the opposite). I don't know why the mark ups, it is a fairly basic deli after all. Miserable staff, nothing for sale that doesn't have a long shelf-life. Disappointing 'fresh produce' like olives. Long queues when people ordering sandwiches, so if you just want a loaf of bread you'll end up waiting ages. Why can't there be a sandwich ordering system so that other customers don't have to wait? If it had friendlier staff, a better choice of fresh tray bakes and cakes (do they come from Costco? They look like it), was better value for money, I might use it more often rather in emergencies only. Is this what they rely on? And the fact that tourists who don't have anywhere else to go.
