The best restaurants serving British food in Gedling East Midlands

Just been to the bowman in hucknall to have some food and drinks and was served at the bar by tasha and Caroline who was very polite and very friendly and welcoming can’t wait to go again as I’ve just booked a table to take the family

Tenía una mesa reservada con amigos para el sábado por la noche y era encantador! Pedimos añadir un par de personas adicionales en el último minuto, que dijeron que no era ningún problema en absoluto. La comida salió excepcionalmente rápido para cuántos de nosotros éramos y todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que era todo encantador 🙂 ¡Hay una razón por la que seguimos volviendo!

So glad we chose Cockliffe as our wedding venue. Beautiful property and amazing staff.

Great food, great value and great environment!

Went here with my son, ordered X2 ribeye steaks, asked for medium rare, both was RAW still had a pulse, couldn't even cut through the meat, had the table rocking just trying to cut through it. Also Only could eat 75% of the steak as the rest was tendents.. And to make it worse, was told its table service and someone would be over in a minute, 15 minutes past, Not one person had been over but plenty standing around, in the end I just went to the bar to get some drinks and order the food.. wouldn't recommend especially for nearly £20 per steak.. very disappointed.

Nice interior and extensive menu for both beer and food. The first pint was very poor, a lifeless, flat Black Sheep, which if served in Yorkshire would cause a riot from regular drinkers. Local beers were a little better but none quite hit the mark in terms of how they were served - they all lacked that creamy smoothness that you expect from a well pulled pint of traditional real ale. The food was a shocker, I went for the sausage and mash. It came straight from the microwave and was drenched in ultra thin bisto. The service was nice but its not enough to redeem the lack of quality on drinks and food.

We love this pub and will continue to visit, but it has definitely gone down hill! It was a lovely sunny afternoon, so the garden was very busy. The bar service has been really poor the last couple of visits and today was no exception, one person serving on such a lovely day. A really young girl who was clearly rushed off her feet doing the best she could. I ordered drinks eventually and grabbed a menu. The menu choice has always been great here but that’s even gone down hill. No starters which is odd, most of the dishes were main meals which we didn’t want as it was lunch time, no pizzas, they used to always be on the menu. A couple of sandwiches, none of which were great, but I opted for the fish ginger one and my husband ordered a sausage roll and a portion of chips. There was just one young girl serving in the garden, tables were full of empty glasses and plates, which people kept asking to be cleared. She was, like the girl at the bar on her own on a busy lunch service with no guidance or manager of any type overseeing the service. My husbands warm sausage roll arrived, 5 minutes ahead of mine, despite ordering it all together. The food was lovely, so at least the standard in the kitchen has been maintained. I really hope the landlord/lady or manager reads this, because if the service continues as is you will loose clients. These young people will leave if they continue to receive grief from customers, they just need some decent leadership. And please bring the prawn sandwich and pizzas back, along with a couple of starters!

Tuvimos un grupo de 20 de nosotros para una salida a la hora del almuerzo un miércoles. Elegí algo básico del menú que era parte de una oferta de 1 plato 2 platos o 3 platos. Tuve el pollo con salsa de barbacoa estaba generalmente bien. Algunas de las otras brochetas de pollo se veían muy bien junto con la otra comida realmente no hay quejas

We have been before many times and thought what good value the lighter bites were and staff friendly. However we decided to have a loaded omelette which was loaded , but it was no bigger than 4 inches in diameter, chips were hard and it cost almost £11 miserable staff, who when I complained she just said they are normally that size, she did apologise, but got the impression it would not be reported back to the kitchen!!

Just changed hand I found out. Was amazing food before. Now salty cottage pie with tinned veg and spongy frozen broccoli 🤮

El más pequeño, y me refiero a la porción más pequeña de pescado que he visto en una comida para llevar, sin excepción. Ni siquiera hubiera sido suficiente para mis 7 años. Las patatas fritas estaban bien. Sabor promedio. Definitivamente no molestará de nuevo.

Such a lovely little pub, with a gorgeous view, really friendly staff and the food was absolutely fantastic!! someone was playing fantastic songs as well we shazamed every single one 😭 A genuinely lovely place to go i could not reccoment it more :] A great place for a date, families or just for a drink with a nice atmosphere, thank you!

Food was just okay, the waitress however was very rude, leaning over the children to pass hot plates to the other side of the table, when advised to go around the table she almost just slammed the plate on the table resulting in food coming of the plate. When we first arrived my partner tried to get the same lady's attention, after saying "excuse me" the waitress proceeded to spin around and shout "I'm busy!" Staff very rude.

Went to Copper on Friday night for my 50th. They were so accommodating. Managed to get 20 of us on one table. Small deposit to secure and pre booked meals only a week before. On the night they couldn’t do enough to help, had fun with us and didn’t try to rush us. Donna was amazing. So caring and friendly! We had an amazing night. Thank you again.
