The staff and food are amazing, my server lou was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and very professional. Also she helped me locate my car keys after I had accidently misplaced them. Will definitely be back

Lovely little cafe with great choice of brunch options and cake. Lots of tea and coffee options.Staff were friendly and helpful.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. Really good I had soft shell crabs as a starter never had before but was lovely. Sunday roast I had pork you got a whole rib of pork with crackling great .

Visited the Kings Head last month and had a superb Sunday lunch, so decided to rebook for a friends birthday today, well it couldn't have more disappointing.... they had run out of orange juice, the pate clearly wasn't chicken liver parfit, the cottage pie I asked my friend to try who is also a home cook of 50 yrs plus and her reaction was " school dinner " as it was so bland. Certainly not the experience of the month before. The party of 4 agreed we will not be returning.

We went to the Axe and Compass on Friday the 28th of February. The pub was busy but not over crowded. As I was driving I tried the Thatcher's Zero alcohol cider And found it to be very good. There were a selection of crusty roll sandwiches available and they were excellent. The pub is divided into two halves and in the other half a band was playing. The band room was great with a stage a couple of feet high so every one could see. All in all a brilliant Friday night out, in a highly recommended pub.

My wife and I called into the Courtyard for lunch and had a very good meal. My wife had the Ploughmans and I had the ham egg and chips. The meal could not be faulted by either of us! We both opted for the stawberry cheesecake which was sublime. The waitress was very attentive and did a very good job. We intend to go back this week to try other options on the menu.

Just recently stayed here for a weekend and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. Danielle and Libby made us feel very welcome and we will definitely stay here again. The room was all you needed it to be, clean tidy and some nice little treats on the tea tray. Thank you :)

Although the service in the cafe was slow and the staff forgot to bring me my order, the food was actually very tasty. However, the visit to the toilet was horrendous - the toilet seat in the unisex, accessible toilet had been left up to, to expose the most disgusting orange/brown urine staining (see photo's). I reported this to the store manager, who couldn't have been less interested - despite me showing her the toilet seat, she offered no apology, smiled and stated that it had already been reported and she was already aware of it. I believe she said that it was being addressed next week, so if anyone needs the toilet, you may be better to cross your legs until you can find somewhere more sanitary to use! Very annoyingly, the manager saw fit to speak to somebody on her headset whilst I was talking to her - really disrespectful and patronising. Really not the standard that I expected from Waitrose!

I don't go into coffee shops alone. Had 40mins to while away.Saturday early afternoon Good coffee and tea cake. Lovely attentive lady serving.Shame they where out of cheese scones. Nice safe cafe for timid singles.

What a treasure of a place. The staff are incredibly friendly and delightful and this is a truly dog-friendly place. Loved the food, great location for a rest stop while out and about in town - definitely returning soon.

Popped for dinner tonight ( Sunday) last minute , staff were very friendly throughout our visit, table and seats were clean, the 4 meals and desserts were all quick to arrive and were hot and tasty, and the staff cleared the table promptly and were keen to ensure we were well catered for. Good value for money and will visit again.

This place is a gem it’s well worth a visit we have been a few times on our travels and it’s as good as ever. We’ve been two weeks in Cambridge Oxford and London and this place has beaten all the places we have eaten in over the past two weeks. That says a lot. And it’s the only place I found chocolate sundae which I was so looking forward to but couldn’t eat because I was full . Advice would be to book. It was very busy.

The service was excellent. All the staff were lovely and very friendly and the food was amazing. The dining area had been decorated for Valentine’s Day and it was a lovely place to relax and enjoy this occasion.
