A proper local with a twist! A real family-orientated pub where kids are made to feel as welcome as the man who is popping in because “the Chinese is taking g so long to order that I had to pop over the road for a pint, love.” Most pubs in the surrounding area have rapidly deteriorated or even closed over recent years - this one has got miles better. Great beer, great company, great pizza.

Very excited that we've found the perfect night out. The service was incredible, the food was delicious, the wine and drinks brilliant, the atmosphere just perfect. I think this could be the best find for a night out anywhere in the area. Plus the best Espresso Martini I've ever had. Planning the next visit already, thank you so much x

Fantastic makeover for this traditional village pub. Reopened on Christmas eve, nice selection of Nene Valley Brewery beers as well as the usual lager and spirit selection. They how to start coffee, pastries and full menu soon, but this is a phenomenal start and brings so much life into the village!!

Situated in the older part of Rushden, however don't let this deter you. We've visited twice, once for breakfast and once for lunch. All meals were delicious, presented well and delivered in a timely fashion. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We will be returning. It's reasonably priced and we cannot fault the food.

Was parked in a lay-by and ordered from here on uber. I’m from Yorkshire and we all know the best fish and chips come from gods country. Bens batter comes second, bloody hell it was gorgeous. I ordered on uber to be delivered to my truck in a lay-by bought a fish and a batter sausage it has got to be one of the best I’ve ever had and it was down south? Only wish they had added some chips even a handful just to try, up north we do that. But tell tha this has to be visited the batter is so nice. The fish cooked to perfection and the best battered sausage this Yorkshire lad has ever had. Keep up the good work.

Awful service! From the minute walking in the person who seated us had attitude, asked if we could sit outside her response was “no, as you can see we only have one server” said with such a tone we felt to leave at that point. Were offered sauce with our meal which never arrived, took so long to get a drink that we had to cancel them. Then they have the cheek to charge a service fee of 12.5% which was paid. By far the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had there.

We recently visited Lago Lounge at Rushden Lakes and had another fantastic experience. I went for the cheese & bacon smash burger (photo attached) – it was absolutely delicious! Juicy, full of flavour, and cooked perfectly. The seasoned fries were a real highlight too – crispy, golden, and packed with flavour. My partner chose the Lounge Eggs – poached eggs served with spinach and hollandaise sauce – and was equally impressed, saying they were really good. We’ve dined here and at several of the other Lounge venues before, and they never disappoint. The quality is always top-notch, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere makes it a great spot every time.

We spent a night at The Montagu Arms and it was perfect! Very dog friendly. Lovely service. Open crackling fire in the reception area, so cosy. Gorgeous garden and outdoor seating area. We had a lovely breakfast at the hotel and a really gorgeous dinner at The Monty next door (huge thanks to Brad, Kaiyan and Katie who were so brilliant - very friendly and efficient service, also attentive- noticed when drinks were low etc) food was epic - all came out hot and fresh. Really amazing flavours. Vince on reception was also great - fast check in and always available if we needed something. Location is great too - by the water and on a pretty (but very small - which suited us fine) highstreet with a bakers etc. Would definitely recommend!

We came to Nassington to collect something my wife had bought online and figured, while we were here, we would try it for a late lunch. I went to check if they allowed dogs (we have 2, beagle and shihtsu) and were still serving; as soon as I walked in the door it felt warm and welcoming. There were quite a few folks in but it was genial rather than crowded, and the music was actually background rather than live gig level (a rarity these days, it would seem), so also seeing the cosy fire and the water bowl for dogs made our decision inevitable. The staff were all very friendly, helpful and efficient, and our order was taken quickly for a shared Camembert to start then beef sirloin and pork belly mains which didn't take long to arrive and, when they did, what a treat! Quite the best Sunday dinners we've had in a long time, with top-notch roasties, beautifully done roast carrots & parsnips and a scrumptious cauliflower cheese. For me, if the food is good enough the only accompaniment should be an optional twinkle of salt & pepper and so it was here; all was cooked to perfection with excellent flavour and any additions would have spoiled it. They only had two ales on the pump and one was GK IPA (I never touch it) but luckily they had a fine local Nene Valley Brewery session blonde which went very well with my meal. The doglets settled in very quickly, which is always a good measure of the ambience, so all in all this was a brilliant spur of the moment choice. We will definitely be back and I would heartily recommend it to anyone who likes a traditional local pub with atmosphere and excellent food - well, who doesn't? :)

Been here a couple of times, second time for Sunday lunch. Staff are friendly and cater well to customers. The food was incredible, recommend the lamb. Personally prefer a crispy parsnip, and the crispy edges of stuffing, but everything was spot on.
