Bill’s Rushden in East Northamptonshire

Awful service! From the minute walking in the person who seated us had attitude, asked if we could sit outside her response was “no, as you can see we only have one server” said with such a tone we felt to leave at that point. Were offered sauce with our meal which never arrived, took so long to get a drink that we had to cancel them. Then they have the cheek to charge a service fee of 12.5% which was paid. By far the most disappointing experience I’ve ever had there.

Served by Niamh who looked after us really well, the food is always very delicious and the service is really good. we will continue to come back!

Having tried Bill's across London, in Kent, Windsor, etc. we trust it to deliver all-round solid food and good service. I tried the special burger (The Hawaiian) which was yummy. The Virgin Mary could have done with a little more chilli, but I'll live 😉 The service, provided by Bella, was simply great! Cheerful, attentive, and kind - all you could ask for!

Visited for the first time with some friends. One was celebrating her birthday. Loved how the restaurant was decorated and the vibe was very chilled. We sat inside but had a view over the lake which was lovely. Staff were really friendly and chatty and asked how our day had been, if we had allergies etc I know they have to ask about allergies but one of my friends has an allergy and they showed a lot of knowledge which was great. Our drinks came after just a few minutes and we were so busy chatting we don’t know how long it took for the food to arrive but it wasn’t that long. Food was attractively presented and tasted delicious. One of my friends has mayo with everything but they brought us a pot without question! We really enjoyed our time at Bills and considering we are in our 20’s, surprised we didn’t try it before. Will definitely be back! Special mention to Saskia who we had been seated by. We’d mentioned our friends birthday and Saskia took her dessert off the bill, which was unexpected but really appreciated. Great place. Thanks Bills!

Best food ever highly recommended the steak.

Popped in for a cream tea and a coffee with my wife and son. Was seated very quickly, the waitress was very polite and took our order the drinks turned up within 5 minutes and the cream tea was about another five minutes later. The scones were all warmed up with plenty of cream and jam. Would definitely be having that again.

A Great Experience at Bills Rushden Lakes** I popped in this evening just for a quick drink but ended up staying for a full meal—and I’m so glad I did. I was served by Max, who was absolutely amazing. He struck the perfect balance between being helpful and professional while also bringing a great sense of humour to the experience. I’ve been to Bills many times before, but Max’s service truly made this visit stand out. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and Max’s cocktail recommendations were spot on—definitely elevated the whole evening. All in all, a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Really good lunchtime visit. Attentive staff without being too "in your face".

We walked in at 11.30 no queue or anything was greeted by Rosie who showed us to seats which were available and being a lovely warm sunny day we chose to sit outdoors in the sun .We gave Rosie our order drinks were prompt and short wait for our meal which was amazing and cooked to our request.Staff were very pleasant and couldn't be more obliging.The cost was very competitive and would highly recommend anyone visiting Rushden Lakes give Bills a visit.

Food fine. Staff ok. But have no idea why 8 staff couldn't at least seat the 30 odd queuing customers to get them out of the sun. Even if the kitchen was understaffed, explain and get people sat with a drink. Nothing like not communicating with people to rile them. We had a booking so could see it all. Think they are believing their own hype. Been back again April 2025. Service no better, had to remind staff twice about sauces and water. It's basic skills they're missing. There would be no tip if service wasn't included, if indeed it go to the staff at all.

Superb place to drink or eat. Food is lovely, never had a bad meal in there. Staff are great, very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Booking online is also very easy. We often go in there just for a drink and sit at the bar, atmosphere is brilliant. Lovely place. Definitely worth visiting just for a drink or a meal.

Really disapointed to be honest. Sat down and 20-25 minutes later came for our order 2 tea's and 2 breakfasts. Another 20 minutes or so our drinks eventually arrived! Then another 10 minutes the breakfast arrived. No butter with our toast had to ask for it waited another 10 minutes gave us a bottle of ketchup that was empty! Food is not value for money at £14.95 for breakfast although it was a nice big pot of tea for 2. Staff are very unattentative just walking about doing nothing or sitting at the bar chatting. Wouldn't recommend breakfast to anyone hope its better for lunch and evening meals.

Absolutely awful service. Waitress appeared grumpy. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive. 30 minutes to get drinks and that was after we asked. We always used to enjoy Bills in various parts of the UK, Guildford and Horsham. The one in Rushden lakes is awful. After 45 minutes, my husband’s order was also incorrect. Please do not work in the hospitality industry if you do not have the relevant attitude and skills.

Had the pleasure of dining at Bill's Rushden Lakes for breakfast this morning. The food was great and the service was the best I think I ever had! It was my Grandma's 90th birthday and all the staff were so kind to her and even got her some flowers and a card. Our waiter was so nice and he genuinely cared about her 90th today. Couldn't have asked for anything better! Thanks Bill's!

I used to love Bills but this place has totally put me off ever going to this chain again! Made a large table booking here so they knew to expect us, but the service was SHOCKING. We waited 15 mins before we were offered any drinks, then the rest of the party arrived and they then waited for someone to come over. It was then another 20 mins before someone came to take our order. Then the 50 minute wait began. No one kept us in the loop, no drinks were offered, the staff just really didn’t seem to care to be quite frank. When our food arrived, things were missing, things were wrong, we had to correct things and some of it was stone cold, other stuff clearly sat on the pass judging by my disgusting Bill’s brunch. The eggs alone put me off! No check back was done, only asked if we wanted more drinks and granted, we should have spoken up but I didn’t want to risk another 50 minute wait with hungry children! We couldn’t use the app because your WiFi is totally inadequate, you don’t get signal in Rushden anyway, we couldn’t use our blue light discount for the same reason, the woman we dealt with was insistent we needed a code, watched us all struggle to get said code and didn’t even offer a discretionary discount which I know for a fact this company can do, tried to pay cash and was told no, and then to top it off, the woman taking our money decided to argue back when one of my party raised the issues. Totally shocking interaction, appalling way to speak to customers and I’d not have her work for me with her terrible attitude. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND! Absolutely do not understand why people queue for that hell hole. Go to Wagamama, foods better for a start!!!

Booked a table here with grandkids as they were eating free, it was our first ever visit to Bills and it was very busy, hence service was slow. Wasn’t too impressed with food some of dishes coming out did look nice, I clearly ordered a bad dish, BILL'S TRUFFLE CHICKEN TWO WAYS, well there was literally two dots of truffle mayonnaise and red wine jus that resembled watery gravy, the rest of the dish was not spectacular, the chicken tasteless (mash was ok), also notably small portion considering the price of £16.75. Also I ordered a Latte at £3.90 and although was lovely, could not have been in a smaller cup so not good value. To top it all, was not impressed with the £5+ “optional” service charge added to the bill considering the service this should not just be added and my wife had not noticed it whe paying, so was still expensive despite the grandkids eating free! Will not return as did not feel was good value or enjoy our elongated visit waiting around for service.

Went to Bill's today for brunch and as usual was absolutely delicious. I had risotto and my daughter had avocado and we both loved it. Such a nice restaurant to visit, the staff are always so friendly and helpful especially Max & Saskia who are lovely! Would 100% recommend, we'll be back soon!

Can get VERY loud on the weekends and you are packed in like sardines so a star taken off for having to shout over the noise of restless children etc., which I know isn't the fault of the business but does detract from the overall experience. That being said, staff are lovely, food is great, especially the choices for a coeliac and it's also dog friendly in some parts which is fab.

Had an absolutely brilliant morning celebrating my husband’s birthday with family after our son's wedding. Rosie was a star, making us feel super welcome and even finding cake and sparklers for an extra special touch. The food and drinks were spot on, and the service was top-notch, making the whole experience unforgettable. Can't thank Rosie and the team enough for creating such fantastic memories! Highly recommend if you're looking for value and a great atmosphere.

Brought the kids for lunch during the Easter break. While it was very busy and we did have to wait for a table, we were still seated quickly. Ordered sea bass for myself, kids had mac and cheese with chips for one and the build a burger for the other. Both loved their food and had clean plates (bonus!) Staff, while extremely busy, were brilliant. Since the restaurant had an Easter break offer on, this explains why it was as busy as it was on a Thursday lunchtime. Will certainly be bringing the kids back soon!

Food is Bloody Brilliant, The atmosphere is Also Bloody Brilliant and we got the warmest welcome of our lives. 10/10 would recommend.

Went for Mother’s Day brunch, and despite the long queue, we were seated within 10 minutes thanks to our booking. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff member who served us was excellent, although I didn’t catch her name. As a lovely touch for Mother’s Day, we were offered a glass of bubbly. Since I don’t drink alcohol, they kindly provided a refreshing non-alcoholic alternative for me and my daughter, which we really enjoyed. They also accepted the Blue Light Card and gave us 20% off the bill, which was a great bonus. Despite how busy it was, the service was efficient, and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. Had an amazing time and will definitely go back.

Our Waitress was Lucy, she was very kind and attentive in answering our questions about the outdoor eating booths and seating us in one of them. I ordered the eggs royale with hollandaise, personally I feel the meal was covered in an excessive amount of sauce which overpowered the other flavours and made the muffin rather soggy. The eggs themselves were rather bland and watery.

Booked a 7.30pm table (6) for Mothers day and as luck had it they had a cancelled pod available. Nice and cosy in there with fairy lights and a heater. Nice meals and mothers day offer of 20% discount and free dessert. Pancake stacks are enormous and filling. Evening topped off by really friendly and professional service by our waitress Eilish throughout our visit. She was excellent and a credit to this restaurant.

Fab vibe and the staff were friendly despite it being busy. Great gluten free options.

The last time we went we were near the door and it was cold. This time we were down the far end and it was cold. Sat in our coats to eat. The burger for our 15yr old was badly undercooked. It was ordered well done. The answer given was “our burgers do come out a bit rarer than others”.

I have to say we have been coming Bill's since it opened and just recently the service has gone down hill. Waited 45 for our drink before they even bothered to order our food. Had to remind them 3 times then waited another half hour to be eventually served food. Other tables were served before us even though they were seated after us. Toilets are disgusting and smell is atrocious, they whole place looks tired and dirty overall. I think the management need to focus their attention on customer service and cleanliness.

I had a really enjoyable visit, the food was top-notch and the place was super clean with a great atmosphere. The service was fantastic, and I was pleased with how quickly everything came out. My only hiccup was the flavoured lemonade; it didn't have much taste, so I'd recommend sticking to water instead. Overall, I left happy and will definitely be back!

I can’t fault the breakfast at Bills down Rushden Lakes it’s always nice and you can swap certain items for other items which is great. The staff were polite and we was served in reasonable time, even when it’s busy I always get seen quickly. Thank you Sas.

We had a fantastic service from Bella. She was so patient and she went above and beyond for us. We were dining as a family of 8. And she and was very accommodating especially to our allergies and making our meals special. She made some great recommendations Our food was lovely, and the bottomless pancakes went down a treat.

Really dissatisfying. Over priced. Booked a table and still had to wait to sit at a dirty table. Glasses on table were not pleasant to look at along with the decanter of water so didn’t drink it. Measly glass of flat Prosecco. Coke from a can. And as for the service it’s not existent. To think there’s a service charge! No one came over to check everything was okay, had to nearly put our hand up to get a drink and food was alright but nothing that particularly wowed us for the price.

We booked in last night - Saturday for a pre cinema meal . We chose Bills as something different on the Rushden Lakes complex - having visited a few times over the years . From start to finish service was good - no complaints or loss of stars there. Ambience as expected - with nice decor , clean and background music. The Menu choice and food quality is why this is only a 3 star rating. Menu wise I feel is quite limited and with a small choice should mean perfect food quality. My BH ordered a burger and fries - view was the burger was ok - nothing special and the fries were bland and warm not hot. I ordered the steak , medium with a sauce. The steak arrived with the added steak knife. On first view it looked quite thin so not sure a steak knife was needed. In reality a chainsaw may have been better. The meat - cooked as requested medium was super tough and gristly that even the steak knife was struggling to cut. Needless to say - this wasn’t finished and I was offered and received a free dessert, but it doesn’t really solve the problem of food quality longer term . On that basis and with a hefty bill for 2 , I’m certain it won’t be our place of choice for future visits to RL. Unfortunately as a top 1% trip advisor reviewer I can’t recommend.

Our breakfast today was awful, it was dry and cold. The drinks were also cold which I did tell them about, I felt like a Karen keep complaining so didn't mention the cold food. £82 for 4 breakfasts isn't cheap and would of expected better. The staff are great but they need more.

AWFUL "Dog menu" outside pulling in 20 30 families with dogs. In reality the dog menu is a pack of training treats which should be given sparingly as a treat NOT a meal. Shocking that they can get away with this, exploiting dog owners. Our dog was sick 10mins after leaving. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Also £6 for a bottle of peroni that was warm and glass looked like it hadn't been washed in months. Awful service. AVOID

Food was okay , service was poor I couldn’t tell you who served us as we weren’t paid much attention to and were served by a variety of different people. The bathroom as awful but the restaurant itself looked nice and seemed to have a good atmosphere. I would potentially try during off peak times for better service and a clean bathroom but I can say I was pretty disappointed.

Had a lovely meal with my family to celebrate my sons birthday.we were in one of the 'cabins'outside which was an experiance!.the young man that served us was lovely(didnt get his name.)the food was tasty and nicely presented.would recommend,and hope to return soon.

When we arrived had to wait 10 minutes at the door before anyone even bothered with us. Place was 3/4 full. Service was poor, understaffed felt almost sorry for the service staff. Atmosphere wasn't great customers whinging and complaining about various stuff. Food was mediocre at best, nicely spread out on the plate to make it look more than it was. Cans of coke were warm. 12% service charge included 🙄 over 25 per person no starters or desert Previously we've had a great experience. Won't waste my money again when you get better at the local estate pubs

Came for a valentines meal with partner. We were seated quickly and the waitress was attentive. We had been told by one member of staff that we couldn't get a normal meal from the menu but we asked our waitress and this was allowed. The meal was pretty good and we got a blue light discount which took off 20percent. The bill came and I had forgot that they do a service charge which was 7 pounds odd. I don't like this as I always tip anyway, but I tipped on top to round it up.

As always we had a fantastic meal out at Bills, tonight we had our meal in one of the out side pods. Fantastic meal and the drinks kept coming, service was first class and Rosie and the team went the extra mile to make sure we had a great meal out. Thank you to all the staff for making the night entertaining and a special thanks to Rosie for her first class service, for entertaining us with her Christmas Singing and for making the evening so special 🤗

Food was good but menu choice needs work

Great place over priced Service charge added on to your bill which is not good.

Pancakes were weirdly dry and undercooked. The matcha latte was nice but came in a cheap horrid plastic cup. The biggest breakfast on the menu still only comes with 1 sausage!, and also pickled onions do not belong on full English. Asked for more syrup, which came in a jug that was so sticky and unclean that syrup was glogged in opening so couldn't get anyone. Don't waste your money and just go somewhere cheaper.
