Very friendly pub with a secret. A great traditional pub right in the middle of Higham Ferrers. Great for a night out or a mid week dinner. We popped in on a Monday night for some food and there was an offer on pizzas. Luckily we had booked a table as it was quite busy. I have to say the hand stretched pizzas were very good indeed. Some great flavour combinations. We also had a pub classics scampi and chips and some side dishes to go with the amazing pizzas. If you like pizzas you have to give it a go. 🍕🍕

Went there with friends, the place had a great atmosphere. The bar staff were brilliant, Amber especially. Very clean and nice place with reasonable prices

Went for a drink/quiz on quiz night, we were told all tables were reserved and weren't allowed to do the quiz standing. Found a table that someone hadn't turned up to, but were still ignored when the quiz was handed out! Horrible staff attitudes and very rude. We were made to feel very uncomfortable. Very disappointing!!

Dog friendly and amazing pizza! They could not be better with dogs, we come here quite often, but today it was raining and I was offered a blanket to dry my wet dogs. Pizza is amazing and they have a good selection of beers too.

Good selection of beers and wines including cask guest ales. Can be busy nowadays and difficult to find a seat inside. Outside courtyard is lovely when it’s dry and warm. Food selection not extensive but the pizzas are lovely. Decent gin selection. When busy it’s very loud and difficult to follow conversations. Service is prompt and polite. Go to pub in Higham.

We came in late Sunday afternoon on the off chance of a table and were pleasantly surprised. The menu is mainly pizzas, but the Sunday Christmas specials were awesome. The service was brilliant and the waitress really went the extra mile, even nipping out to buy my son a little dessert treat. I'd highly recommend giving this place and the new menu a try.

Claire and Simon know exactly what they’re doing! Service with a laugh, excellent food and beer that’s always kept well. Sunday lunchtimes a particular highlight.

The queen's head is a winner when it come to home made pizzas together with an excellent choice of popular pub grub. The service is always amazing, but you must book to avoid disappointment. The ambiance is always friendly being doggy friendly is a huge bonus. Overall, this is an excellent pub to visit with lots of choices of beer, wine and spirits. Always a great experience

The food is delicious - even the kids love the pizza and halloumi fries 😋 great atmosphere staff are fab And my other half says it’s the best pint of Guiness locally 😁 easy to spend an entire night in there!

The owners have made a big difference to this place. Claire and Simon know most of the local crowd and are doing everything they can to make it a success in there. Pubs got friendly atmosphere. You don't get the local.troublemakers in there. Some great bands and karaoke as well. The pizzas are a winner as well. All in all a safe place to have a drink with your friends.

What can I say!!!! Awesome pub. They have live music most weekends, all of which a pretty decent. The food is lush (especially the pizza). Finally the landlords Claire & Simon are both lovely. Ps. Ask for a shot 🥃xx

I've been to the pub several times to listen to live music. There is always a great atmosphere. This was my first time eating there. We had the bogof pizza deal. The pizzas were delicious, lovely and light with plenty of toppings. I would highly recommend, a bargain on a Monday. The staff are friendly and welcoming, thank you.

Went in for a late lunch, food was tasty and reasonably priced. It was very quiet (just how I like it)

Dad & Son beer night arrived here on a Tuesday evening to find that though the beer selection was pretty good, the Tuesday night Quiz was just starting. It was the first time we'd been here, though the reviews appear to be good. Quizzes are great except when you want to settle down for a quiet drink and a chat. We had one beer each...Beavertown Neck Oil for Son and Guinness Zero for Dad... Surpringly, they actually had some cans in the fridge!!! Full marks for that....if I'm driving I often check out low alcohol choices. Seems like a decent pub. We'll come back sometime.

Have passed it several times as I've driven by. Must say it is a clean, nice traditional pub with good outside space and good prices

Nice local pub with good service

Nice place, we visit every now and again. We went in and ordered 6 pints, the bartender poured them into plastic glasses. We questioned why plastic glasses, she said we can’t cope with volume if we use proper glasses. We questioned this as we could see shelves full of actual glasses. We asked why we couldn’t have these, and she couldn’t answer. We felt insulted as price of pint was certainly not cheap. We walked out, and to add insult to injury in our opinion the bartender chased us outside and said if we walk out and don’t pay for these pints then we’re barred. Really bizarre, but to which we said okay fair enough.

Went for a try and we were blown away! The pizzas are beautiful, they best most authentic pizza we’ve had in years! So good! Thin, crispy and with a perfect amount of topping! Going back very soon!

Pubs too small with too many people in it

Great place. Clean, tidy, nice staff and great food. Highly recommended.

We visited with a friend who knows the area and had a thoroughly enjoyable lunch. The pub was pretty quiet so there were no issues with service in any way. The landlady and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Good coffee and good beer, well kept. We all had freshly made pizza, one with an indian style topping that was incredibly tasty and another a basic margarita with our own toppings as a half and half. Thin and crispy base but in no way dry. Added perfectly cooked sweet potato fries and halumi fries. Will definitely visit again.

Food was quite poor, deep fried packets. The bar looked clean and tidy

Staff are very friendly, the pizza deal is spot on and well worth the money, as the rest of the food menu.

Walking by, fancied a drink or two, food was available, but I did not look at the menu, but we did see food being ordered, so the better half and I have decided to have diners there.

I popped in to see if they were able to offer covid secure service and WOW they have a spaced out normal area but a heated and spaced garden area with a gazebo keeping you dry from the elements Great service too

Very friendly good food nice atmosphere

Having been here a few times before lockdown I thought it was a fantastic little pub, a lovely vibe, such friendly staff and sensational food. Visited during the pandemic and they couldn’t have been better, took great caution and didn’t let people congregate at any point. The staff once again cannot be faulted, Tracey and Claire are absolute angels!! Cannot recommend this absolute gem of a pub enough, pop in for a lovely pint, a friendly face & the best pizza you will have in the area!

Great pub with a homely, welcoming atmosphere. Extensive gin menu, although I've yet to try most of them! By far the best thing about The Queens Head is their pizzas - Amazing! Thoroughly recommend Liefmans and Erdinger, although I've no doubt they're all as delicious. Thin, crispy hand stretched base with fresh toppings and cooked to perfection 👌2 for 1 on Mondays too makes it amazing value for money. Keep up the great work 😁 I'm your new regular!

It's a nice pub, very clean, a good selection of beers & wines. It lost a star because of the young barmaid who seemed more interested in her phone than serving me or anyone else at the bar.

Amazing pizza, and the gluten free one for my wife was like normal bread, which is quite an achievement. The staff are great fun and very helpful. They know there beers and and quite rightly proud of their beer awards

Since simon and claire have taken over management it really has improved. Food is fantastic for the price. Their pizzas are amazing. Drinks are a good selection. They have some amazing bands on saturday night. And top.qualitt karaoke every other sunday which is always good fun. It's a safe atmosphere and well.worth a visit.

Always been one of the more popular pubs in higham. Just misses the fun of a few yrs ago. Now very sensible and quiet in there. But still a good start of the night.

Overall great time had this afternoon with friends and family, the staff were friendly and helpful and the Landlord ( I think he said his name was Mac) was incredibly knowledgable of all of his offerings within the pub, and attentive to a degree that would not have been amiss in a fine dining establishment in London. An absolute gem of a venue and we will be back soon ! Thanks to you and your team !

Sunny Saturday so decided to head to the local pub. The queens head is a lovely pub to visit. We had a charcuterie board and side of wedges. Lovely. A really nice plate of food. Variety of draft ales and selection of gins. I went for blood orange gin with ginger ale as recommended by the landlord. Brilliant suggestion. Could spend all afternoon following the gin and Prosecco menu! We often visit this pub and have never been disappointed. Very polite and courteous staff checking all is ok and would we like anything else. Nice atmosphere and thoroughly worth a visit. On a warm day the rear garden is a nice spot to sit and sample the variety of drinks and food on offer.
