We dropped in on spec and we’re thoroughly welcomed!! A unique fun pub with a great atmosphere and excellent food at a reasonable price! Will definitely come again if visiting the area.

Just came across this place out on a drive, food excellent, nice American dinner at the rear with memorial on the walls, music in background also l occasionally live music

This is a hidden gem! The food is homemade and absolutely beautiful. The lovely couple who run it are very friendly, down to earth people and we will definitely be going back very soon!!!

Thursday night dinner. Very warm welcome, good menu, and viva was very personable taking us through the best sellers. I had the ‘burger stack’ and husband the steak pie. Wowzer to both! Very very tasty! Really good value for money. Would 100% recommend and will be going back

Definitely worth a visit to the Rose and Crown. The owner Kim is amazing. Greeted us so friendly and explained the menu and gave us great recommendations. Her menu will suit all as there is so much to choice from, it's all homemade and outstanding value too!! Not local to me but would make a special journey to visit again. Kim and her amazing food made our visit rememberable. Pay cash if you can to keep local currency alive.

Great place burgers are delicious

Visited tonight for a meal with friends, we were greeted by Kim, the owner, she came out and told us about the best sellers on the menu and explained the choices and options on the menu, she explained that everything is homemade, I opted for the famous burger stack, it was amazing! It was the best burger I think I’ve ever tasted, it was obviously homemade and the quality was outstanding. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone Outstanding food, outstanding price very friendly staff Thanks for the marmite container too! It will be great in my collection ♥️

A great find!! We had the most wonderful experience at The rose and crown on Valentines night. The food was incredible and all home made .. the steak pie was to die for!!! Kim couldn’t do enough for us and we really did have such a wonderful night. Cannot recommend this place enough - wel be back to try the incredible looking full menu!! Thank you! 💓

Travelling through Oundle we stopped off here for lunch and were really impressed. Whilst it looks like a traditional pub from the outside, inside the food section is set out like an American diner, although the food range is from pies and burgers to curries, with pure veggie options too. The main courses are freshly made. I tried the steak pie, whilst my partner had the Thai meat curry. Both were excellent in taste and in value. Portions were generous. Dessert choice is more limited and the chef volunteered that these are not homemade because desserts are not her speciality. My partner and I shared the apple pie (we were too full from the mains to have a dessert each) and it was very nice, though not to the level of the mains. Service was swift and incredibly friendly.

This pub and restaurant looks pretty traditional from the outside, but inside it's got a completely different look and feel. It's a really cool place, styled as an American diner, and the atmosphere is great. The drink selection is vast, and the food is superb. Try the "famous steak pie"... it's famous for a reason! It was truly excellent. The owners are lovely too, and very welcoming. Highly recommend. If you're in or passing through Oundle, give it a visit.

A fantastic pub and restaurant in the quaint town of Oundle. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. The drinks selection is vast, and the food is top tier. The "famous steak pie" has that name for a reason... it's absolutely brilliant. Personally, the best steak pie I've ever had. The decor is very cool, and the atmosphere is relaxed but with a hint of hip. We'll most definitely be coming back!

Just discovered Morgan's American style rock n roll diner and cocktail bar inside this pub. Would recommend to anyone.

Have driven past a few times and have always wanted to go in. Rang up and booked a table for 2 and staff were friendly and polite on the phone. Turned up and staff were very welcoming and lovely. Was explained what the specials were and was given some advice on the vegetarian options which there was large selection for me to choose from. Atmosphere was relaxed and nice. The restaurant was very clean and friendly. Food was homemade and all very tasty and very reasonably priced, can’t wait to go back again and try some more wonderful options on their menus. Definitely worth a drive from out of town.

This pub is a hidden gem. Myself and my family had spotted this place when we were last in Oundle and made a mental note to have lunch there. It looks like a normal pub from the outside however when you walk in past the bar the dining area is amazing. We have always enjoyed the American diner experience and this is one of the best we have been to. So much detail and so much to take in. The menu has lots of choice and the food was lovely. I had a burger and it was the best I have had in years. My family all enjoyed their food as well and the cost was very reasonable and a great surprise. We stayed after and played pool and darts and had a great time. The staff are friendly and helpful and made you feel at home. We will definitely be going back.

Our “go to” place for lunch when visiting Oundle. Friendly welcome and a great choice of food at very reasonable prices. There are plenty of options for vegetarians too. We both chose a pie, husband had steak and it was roasted vegetable for me. Freshly cooked with the lightest, flakiest crust imaginable, they were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

The Rose and Crown had the Best Steak pie I have ever had. Kim is the sweetest and best hostess/chef. She was so nice to serve me food even though she had just closed the kitchen. They are the nicest people and I loved the fifties diner style atmosphere, something cool to look at no matter where you sit. I will definitely be back to hang out in their cute beer garden. Lovely quirky pub restaurant in general with friendly hosts but it is particularly great to visit for the Xmas feel! Great decorations and lights. Cocktails packed a punch too 😄

Visited on the 11th, the hosts/owners are all passionate and love what they do - and it shows! Amazing food, drinks and service. The cocktails are out of this world! Definitely visiting again and would recommend to anyone and everyone, the pictures look amazing but still don’t do it enough justice! Everywhere in the pub is so impressive, it’s easy to see how much thought has been put into every bit of detail to get the place just right. If you’re anywhere near the area it’s definitely worth a look! :)

What a FANTASTIC place this is!!! On a journey south with family, we stopped in at the Rose & Crown for lunch - and what a good decision that was. The service was fantastic, (especially from Mark & Kim - the owners) and the food was out of this world. If you're looking for a place to visit, Oundle is perfect, and made all that much better, by taking an hour or so out of your day, to eat at The Rose & Crown. We will almost definitely revisit when we're passing that way again, and would recommend anyone to visit this venue. Really superb - Well done ALL of you :-)

This place is such a great find! We had a fabulous pub lunch here plus there was so much memorabilia on the walls, we didn't know where to look first!! Loved it! A very warm, friendly atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble for hosts, Mark & Kim, who looked after us. The food was excellent and good value with plenty of choice! Will definitely be back just wish we lived nearer so we could go regularly!

Had a great evening at The Rose with Kim and Mark who always make you welcome. Kim’s steak pie was worth the long trip, and never lets you down. A hearty home made meat filled feast. None of your Pukka Pies here! Great selection of ales and lagers but the Marstons Pedigree went down well and was followed by a few more! Thanks Mark for the usual entertainment and making it a great environment to have an evening out. Highly recommended! Great attentive staff and well worth a visit if you’re in the area. Arrived anticipating a 60’s vibe. Found welcoming staff, pleased to see an IPA offering and blown away by the food recommendations and the Burger really was excellent.

The Rose and Crown is passionate in their quest to give you the American burger experience 🇺🇸. My friend and I stumbled upon this place by chance, (looking for a pub lunch), and walked through a classic pub frontage to be met met with a uber vibrant and exciting decor, which put an instant smile on my face. 👌😎🤙 and the food….well! Kim took us through the menu. I had the deluxe beef burger, 🍔 and this turned out to be a flavour explosion with a juicy beef burger, scrumpy sauce combo, and perfectly dripping in cheeses and more. Served in a basket with perfect fries and a tangy sauce, it's a tastebud masterpiece. My friend ordered a chicken burger, and it was no trouble for them to made it to request, adding a special touch. Kim and the staff's passion and the inviting atmosphere made this a total hit! 💯. A must visit.

Camr on an off chance for a beer. I saw another punters food come, and had a whiff. I was starving off the aromas. I ordered a signature burger off the chef's advice Kim. I was not dissatisfied! For the price it was incredible. Prime beef patty at least half a pound caramelised onion, American cheese, lettuce with a strawberry chilly chutney. Served on a bed of perfectly fried chips. We attended the tasting session that Kim put on and what a treat it was, We tasted many dishes that is served on the menu and I can not fault the quantity or quality it was all extremely delicious. Kim, Mark and there staff are always very accommodating.

We were invited to try Kim’s new winter menus. The food was so delicious, all freshly cooked. Lots of choices from cottage pie, chilli, steak pie and my favourite chicken curry. Invited for a Winter taster menu of Kims' home cooked delights. Lovely food, my favorite was the chilli with her cheese and onion pie a very close second. Give it a go you wont be dissapointed!

A really funky pub that's found in the heart of oundle. You can park around the local streets or in the co-op. From the outside it looks like your standard pub, but when you go in its rather like an American diner. There's also a nice garden out the back. Food is served from 12 and there's a rather large menu of pub grub, and a selection of large burgers. Service was fast and efficient. Definitely a unique place with a fantastic environment. Great for a hearty plate of food.

Did not expect to find a US diner style aesthetic in a 1700's stone built pub, but we had a good time either way! We didn't eat here but the menu looked good. Warm welcome, little in the way of craft beer. Plenty of choice of lagers. The pedigree was well kept though!

Lovely atmosphere, an era-pub uniquely decorated in an American 50's diner style in the dining area, cozy outside umbrella-shaded seating out back surrounded by gorgeous 1500s stone buildings...you have to try this establishment! Being right on the market square in Oundle, parking right near the pub is tight, but there's a huge parking area behind the CO-OP that everyone uses...only a 2-3 min walk away, and through the lovely market square. Oh, and they are pet friendly...always a plus!

This is place is a hidden gem. Home cooked food! Lots of choice on the menu. It’s definitely a rovers return. It’s dog friendly, and the food was delicious. We got looked after by Kim. What a lovely lady. Very attentive and accommodating. Our dogs got a treat too. Plenty of parking available on the market square which is opposite the Rose & Crown. Oundle is a beautiful place to visit. Lots of interesting shops, and plenty of nice dog walks to be had.

Me and my family are staying in Oundle for 2 weeks and it is the best place to eat or drink in town.

Well where do I begin what a great pub what a fantastic atmosphere decorations and friendly staff. The food was amazing all home made fresh to order and you don't leave hungry. Very much a hidden gem of a place and will be coming back to the place. A very proud establishment

Myself, my husband, brother and sister in-law went to the Rose and Crown Saturday night after a recommendation from a friend. From the outside it just looks like any pub in a small town, but when you walk through the door, it's a step back into the sixties with an American theme. We were told to find a table towards the back where the food is served, the landlady came to chat to us and we asked about the great theme she had going on in the pub, she told us all about herself and husband's travels and how each piece had been collected whilst travelling America. The menu has something for everyone and is all freshly cooked and homemade. We ordered onion rings and cheesy garlic bread whilst waiting for our mains, lots of cheese on the bread and the onion rings were crispy on the outside but the onion was lovely and moist inside. For mains, 2 of us chose the steak pie which was served with chips and peas with a mushy option. I chose creamy chicken which was served with rice and one of us chose the special which was cheese and onion pie which again had chips and peas, all of our meals were excellent and perfectly cooked, the portions were big enough to fill you enough to hardly squeeze in a pudding. The two men managed to have room for Apple pie and something else with chocolate and ice cream. The main courses were all £11.95 and puddings all £5.95 which were very good value considering the size of the portions, the freshness and all homemade. We all said we will definitely be going back to try something else and maybe one of the alcoholic milkshakes...

Absolute hidden gem. Loads of fun to be had. It's been a pub for around 300 years and had lasted that long for a reason. Staff are warm and welcoming and the prices are very reasonable. All in all a great place to come for a boozy evening!
