Fantastic makeover for this traditional village pub. Reopened on Christmas eve, nice selection of Nene Valley Brewery beers as well as the usual lager and spirit selection. They how to start coffee, pastries and full menu soon, but this is a phenomenal start and brings so much life into the village!!

Hard to get in anyplace today due to Mothers-day. I left it till a few day b4. Phoned up and they were very accommodating. Arrived on time. Table ready. Drink came in good time and also got a nice surprise for the mother. Like the idea of not have 100’s of dishes on the menu. Good for veggies and the nut roast was great. Very good flavours and just about the right amount. Gravy came in a separate boat. Service and staff good. Puddings were a decent size. Bill all ok . Nice venue and easy to find.

A celebratory lunch with friends. We were very impressed with the measures taken to maximise social distancing. The visit was our first since lock Dow, and we felt totally safe. . The food was as good as it ever had been. Well done.

Popped in for a drink after long walk. Bob and Tina made us feel very welcome and the beer was excellent. Will be coming back for fish and chip night on a Thursday. The pub is TINY so book if you need a table. Refreshing Pub like they use to be with proper pub food menu and reasonable prices.

Don’t know why I haven’t written a review before now. Been here several times, brought family for meet ups and been for a cosy meal for two. The Shuckburgh at Stoke Doyle, nr Oundle can do no wrong in my eyes OR the eyes of our families. The food is amazing whether you visit on a weekday/night, Saturday or Sunday. Try it, you won’t be disappointed

Not visited for a long time but will return sooner rather than later - ambience and welcome was excellent; this was followed by extremely well presented and cooked food and was obvious quality local produce was used. The drinks were excellent also with a very wide choice available- for 2 people with drink to get a bill under £50 was very good value for money . If only you were closer to Corby ☹️

We've been to the 'Shuck' many times but on this occasion it was a little bit special, we were treating another couple to Sunday lunch. I'm sure a lot of people have been in the same position that you praise up a pub and just hope all is at the standard you normally enjoy and expect. Well Fran and her staff never let us down, the food was, as ever, perfect, the service exceptional and price didn't break the bank? It's high praise to say that the couple who we took actually booked a table the following weekend just to pass the experience onto their other friends. Well done Fran

Popped in for a quick drink on our travels and we're pleasantly suprised by this community owned pup. Although we never ate on this visit the food looked lovely and reasonable priced. The beer was lovely and well kept all coupled with very friendly and welcoming locals it made for a lovely rest stop. Our dog was also made very welcome. Thank you.

Visited the Shuckburgh Arms again last evening with a couple of friends and once again we weren't disappointed. Fran looked after us so well and the service was first class. Starters included whitebait, portobello mushrooms and Cajun chicken- all cooked to perfection. Main courses of the steak and ale pie, haddock moray, slow cooked blade of beef and the pork tenderloin were all excellent, served as described on the menu. There was just a little room for a couple of desserts that ended a lovely evening. We will return as soon as we can.

We had eaten here a couple of years ago and wanted to return as our 1st experience was so good and we were not disappointed. The welcome is warm and friendly, the 2 courses for £14.95 is a a real bargain. The meals are well presented, good sized portions and imaginative. I would recommend and hopefully will revisit soon.

The meals we had were very basic; there was no GF option and the capacino coffee almost undrinkable - a poor show with a very limited snack lunch menu.

Six of us went out for a birthday meal. Chose this pub because of its location. We was not disappointed . Great location. Friendly welcome. Given a choice of tables. Good range on the menu. Service was excellent, the food was even better. If you are looking for a country pub with good food and great atmosphere look no further. We will be back. Bed and beakfast is also available.

Great staff, great feeling, amazing food. Massive outdoor garden. Outdoor heaters, live music, open fire inside and very good quality reasonably priced food. Dogs welcome and even remember his name. Best pub been to in years so much so when my father in law comes to stay he insists we only go here.

Met here for the first time to meet up with friends as a half-way meeting point. Had the two course lunch menu which was good value for money. No complaints at all, the venue is nice, the food great, reasonably priced for 'proper cooking' and we will be back. Four empty plates on each course ...... enough said.

My husband found this place whilst making a collection from the farm next door, we went for lunch today and the food was faultless, we are both foodies and I can be hard to please, however the quality of food, the warm friendly service and the place itself were awesome, this will become a regular visit for us.

We have often stopped in here on a summer evening and sat in the lovely garden overlooking open countryside. Excellent service and great food. Just on the edge of Oundle a good place to walk to from town and walk off supper on the way home.

We went for a Christmas meal in a group. We were seated in an alcove which was nice. The special Christmas menu was carefully thought out with plenty of choice. The food was well cooked and served in generous portions. The vegetables were just and the roast potatoes retained some crispiness which isn't always the case.

We rang at short notice, they fitted us in no problem and four of us had a super meal. We shared a white bait, and then had a curry, a blade of beef, a steak and ale pie and a chicken/bacon/brie salad, all excellent. Fran and her staff were warm and welcoming. Puddings were delicious, we sampled the brownie, eton mess, sticky toffee pudding......yum! Will definitely book in here again.

Although the website menu for the grill was disappointing as no Fillet Steaks were available when we got there due to an oversight on updating their website. The food was great and the service was very good there was still plenty to choose from.

Eight of us took advantage of the two courses for £13.95 offer on a very quiet Wednesday evening. Amoung the dishes we ordered were whitebait, shin of beef, pan fried chicken, slow roasted belly pork, Eton mess and sticky toffee pudding. No one was disapointed, the food being well presented and very tasty. The service is fast and friendly and the house wines great value. Combine that with localy brewed beer and this is a great foody pub.

A great village pub serving lovely food with good service. We have been many times to the Shuckburgh Arms, Stoke Doyle and have always had good food. Whether on an evening or lunchtime, the atmosphere is nice and the menu choices are good - not bad value either. In the summer - perfect for families as has a garden with swings/climbing frame for children to have fun whilst waiting for food to come out.Never used the accomodation - but sure it is good!

We stayed here on two occasions, in our campervan to the rear of inn. Quiet and good location. We enjoyed a nights sleep during both our stays. The staff at the inn are fabulous, welcoming and friendly and the owners are really doing a great job. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the inn was just what you’d hope for, log fire burning in the hearth, dog friendly and lots of positive chatter. I’d recommend this as a stopover and eatery.

Turned up tonight a party off 6, to celebrate my daughter’s 18th birthday, her first cocktail! To then be told very abruptly that because we had a small baby asleep in a car seat we couldn’t stay, as after 6 , no children , she was so rude about it and said it’s plastered all over our web Page if you look! , which I have looked and can’t see. If so ok, but she shouted it out and was awful, made us feel really uncomfortable, won’t be returning.

I was taken here for afternoon tea by my friend. The whole event was great from start to finish. Excellent selection including sandwiches, mini quiche, crisps, cakes, lemon posset, meringues and scones with cream and jam - all decorated beautifully with edible flowers and pea shoots. I have since been lucky enough to experience afternoon tea at Bettys in York and The Dorchester …..The Boxwood Tea far outshone both of these. Would highly recommend.
